Gyrends: Intro (OOC)
Hello, I am a new nation. I want to be a colony of a large nation, and then have protests and eventually a revolution. So, if anyone would like to be the occupying nation please tell me. Then I can start a thread.
I would love to be your occupying nation! Naasha recently reunited with another rebellious province called Surdun in our extreme south. There is land available to the north of my nation which is seperated from the rest by a large mountain range if you want a land border or I'm happy to rp you as an overseas colony too.

Cool! Sounds great! If you could show me a map(?) that would be nice. Also, if you could tell me a little about your nation so I can make some derogatory sayings to be yelled at protests.
There are links to my map and factbook in my signature. Sorry for the rather rough map, the area to the north of my nation labelled as Moorington is available I believe but you can feel free to extend your own borders in any direction you like beside that.
The island in my map (Crete I think, Naasha is based on Greece) is also available if you rather, since I never use it.
There is some information in my factbook but to sum up, the current government is democratic and replaced an unpopular empress by a military revolution. The government is viewed as too conservative by more liberal members of society and too liberal by the conservatives!
Democracy is held dear which can lead to beaurocracy choking the governmental system on occasion and Naashans, especially city dwellers are often viewed as being cynical and snobbish toward non-Naashans.
Surdun, which is the southern province in Naasha is more backward and still holds a little anti-government sentiment. Rebels in your nation can take heart that Surdun was able to break free and rebel from Naasha for over two hundred years and might view its eventual capitulation as cowardly.

Heya, I'm going to go to work on the IC thread in a moment. I've just found a larger map of Crete which you can use as the basis of your own map if you like.
I've labelled the occupying military bases on the map and left the rest blank so you can fill it in if you want. The cross represents the main Naashan base on the island, with some three thousand men located on the base and housed around it, some of these will be Gyrendian (?) though.
The rectangle represents Gyrendis Airbase, which houses about two hundred security personnel and the 6th Fighter Squadron, which is comprised of 20 F-22 Raptors and assorted logistical aircraft.
The triangle represents an NEAMC facility, the Nova Europan Alliance Military Command is a regional alliance and has bases throughout member nations. There will be around three hundred security personnel on the base but only about fifty of which are Naashan, the rest are from other Nova Europan nations and probably will refuse to help put down an insurrection.
