The HMS Morgana LeFaye was a sleek and powerful ship; the centre piece of her battle group to her right and left were the Lord Class Battleships equally as long as the Carrier if not longer. With there big guns silent yet looking ever so intimidating. Left and right and to the rear of the carrier were the Storm Class Guided missile cruisers and up front were the Broadsword Class Frigates. At the corners of this formation were the Type 45 Daring Class Destroyers and Flanking the fleet with two either side were the Vanguard Class Guided Missile destroyers.
Underneath the waves were Two Hunter Class SSN attack submarines; loaded with an 8 man Navy SEAL Team the battle group was still 500km miles away from its target the Island of Diego Garcia.
Admiral Kara Pentaguast was stood one the command deck of her Carrier viewing its operations as if noting was wrong she had been given her orders from SOCOM fleet command to approach these co-ordinates and all stop. She paced the deck; "Helm All stop and drop anchor" She ordered. Pentaguast was a tall woman at nearly six foot Eight; she wanted to go into the airforce but was too tall so opted for the navy instead where she quickly rose the ranks becoming the youngest female Admiral in history. Some times called 'Admiral Curls' by the lower ranked sailors under her because of her shoulder length curly hair.
"Aye, Aye Skipper" the helmsman reported as the fleet came to a slow stop 400km's from the island. Exactly what she was supposed to do here was still unknown to her; command had neglected to mention that in their orders. Though she was carrying a full compliment of 2000 Marines and 10 Super Sea Apaches and 20 HM01 Merlin; plus the rest of the fleet was carrying Marines on board too; this wasn't entirely unusual. As the fleet above came to s stop the HMS Chester under the command of Captain Leonard S Kelly one of the Hunter Class submarines slipped away from the main fleet.
"Helm; bring us within 6 kilometres of the coast; up 45 degrees to periscope depth" the Captain ordered. The Captain was certain and older man; with a grey scruffy beard and flat cap. The Chester approached the island closing to within 6 kilometres with its HES and MIST Systems activated the submarine rose to periscope depth. The digital fibre optic combined Digital Search and Attack Periscope spotted the base on Diego Garcia. With the HES, MIST and Archangel systems online the sub was invisible in all sense of the word.
"Tell the SEAL's we're in deployment range" the Captain ordered.
"Aye; Aye, Skipper" the sailor sounded off and spoke into his radio' "Seal Team 7 You are go for deployment" he said into his radio.
The Leader of Seal team 7 was Major Allyson Tiedeman; the Seal team was an eight person team each having there own speciality from Demolitions to designated marksman. The Eight SEALS got into the empty Deployment hatch with their waterproof equipment bags all zipped up. The SEALS were in there wet gear for the small swim to the mainland.
"SEAL team reports ready sir" the radio operator said to the captain.
"Flood the deployment Tube open outer hatch; deploy seal team" Kelly replied in his deeply Irish tone that you might expect to find on a fisherman more than a submariner.
The Deployment Tube Flooded and the outer doors opened to deploy the SEAL's each of the eight men and woman swam into the ocean. Using the small portable underwater propulsion system they started the six-kilometre trip to the coast. It was a little under 45 minutes after they left that they arrived on the coast under the cover or darkness quickly stowing the small propulsion units and changing from wet suits to combat gear from there watertight bags in under 2 minutes. The Seals hiked silently through the moderate Forrest area and long grasslands approaching the base from the north west they started to observe with there binoculars from the highpoint advantage and checked there PDA's for information on the island defences via StrikeNet.
(AB; Basically give me an idea of what I can see on the ground from my vantage point and from Eyes in the Sky so I have a rough I idea of what I'm up against)
