Diplomatic Visits (att. Latin Byzantines)
The staff of the Prime Minister's Mansion was working at a feverious pace to prepare for the arrival of the Prime Minister's arrival. "Make sure the dinner is well done, I don't want a repeat of Tomoyo's last visit." Elenore said sternley.
"Yes ma'am."
"Karou what is the status of the flight?"
"It's due in about an hour. Right on time that leaves plenty of time for the meeting, the press confrence anything else and then you will come back for Dinner at the Mansion."
"Karou are you my Foreing Minister or my secratary?" Elenore joked
"Well you could say I'm a bit of both. I was a secretary before you hired me."
"Indeed and it still shows through."
"Air traffic has been put on aleart, the Secret Service is awating him at the Air Port, all will go Fine Elenore please calm down."
"We have a lot of ground to cover. We've been off the relations scene since the war."
"Embassies will be flying in and we won't know what to do with them all."
"Right Karou."
Karou's cell rang.
"This is Karou. Fantastic. The plane is now arriving over Kanami Airspace the airstrip is fully secure and ready."
At the Biggest Airport in Kanami a big ruckus was being stirred. A terminal had been sealed off as well as a lone landing strip had been laid aside. The last time this happend it was the biggest and most consequential visit. the Stevid Prime Minister came and negotiations went down the tubes. Now things were starting fresh. A new Prime Minister from a new country, fresh relations to regain Kanami's reputation as a safe place.

This would be Prime Minister Villehardouin's first meeting with a foreign leader, something he was a bit excited about. Villehardouin made sure that everything was good and then boarded the plane that soon got in the air, traveling to Kanami, where Villehardouin's first meeting with a foreign leader would be held.
When Villehardouin was notified about the plane arriving in Kanami, he nodded and came off the plane and looked around. Kanami seemed like a nice place, it looked well kept. As he came off the stairs, he noticed the officials and honor guard waiting for him. He smiled and greeted them with respect, as he did not want to offend them.
Villehardouin was just recently elected to the job of Prime Minister, and he would make sure that things were good during his first term.
"Prime Minister, Welcome to Kanami. I'm Special Agent Rus Kent, this is my partner Special Agent Yuki Kimura we with the Secret Service Foreing Dignatary Protection Squad, please follow us to the car."
They escorted him to a black Limo. "Drive."
"Once again we would like to Welcom you to Kanami. You will meet Prime Minister Elenore Romney. A hand shake is very customary and accepted. So you need not worry about any unusual custom."

"Once again we would like to Welcom you to Kanami. You will meet Prime Minister Elenore Romney. A hand shake is very customary and accepted. So you need not worry about any unusual custom."
After greeting Rus and Yuki, Baldwin replied: "Thank you for your welcome, Mr. Kent. I am pleased to be here today." After saying this, he walked with them to the limo that was there, ready to drive to Elenore's residence.
As the limo drove to Elenore's residence, Baldwin listened to what Rus Kent had to say about the Prime Minister of Kanami, and after he finished, Baldwin replied: "Thank you for your information, I will remember it."
As Baldwin waited to arrive at Elenore's residence, he looked out the window, looking at the natural scenery and buildings of Kanami. If things went well, Kanami would be a friend or even ally of his nation.
"Looks like they've arrived." Karou said.
Elenore walked out with Karou at her side. "Mr. Prime Minister, I welcome you to Kanami. I'm Prime Minister Elenore Romney." She shook his hand. "This is Foreign Minister Karou Kamiah." Karou extended her hand and shook. "Welcome sir."
"Please come inside."
"You are actually a little early which is nice. So we have time before we leave for the Press Meeting at the Parliamentry Building. Would you like something to drink? Coffe, Soda, Tea? We don't have alchol if you are wondering."

"It is a pleasure meeting you both." Baldwin Villehardouin said as he shook their hands. He was now meeting with the first foreign leader he would meet during his term as Prime Minister.
They went inside and Baldwin listened to what Elenore had to say, before he began to reply to it:
"Since we have time before the Press Meeting, I would like some grape soda, if possible. Though coffee or tea sound traditional, I would like to branch off from tradition, try something new."
"Grape Soda it is then. I wouldn't call tea or coffe a traditional drink, even if we have had it since our establishment. Besides I like a World Leader who can chill out with a drink like Grape Soda. Here you are." She handed him a frosty glass of Grape Soda. "I'm more of an Orange soda girl my self."
"If you like Mr. Prime Minister," Karou said "I can actually give you a Kimono to take home."
"I think that's a great idea. And I could give you a Katana as a gift. So please why don't you tell us a bit about your country. Even your self."

"Thank you. I do enjoy orange sometimes, but I am a grape fan." Baldwin said in response to Elenore as he took the soda, followed by a drink. "Ah, it is refreshing."
"A kimono/katana would be good gifts, to admit, I never really expected a gift." Baldwin said when told about the possibility they would give him a kimono and/or katana.
After listening to Elenore's question about his nation, Baldwin replied:
"Tell you about my nation? Well, It was founded by citizens of the Latin Empire of Constantinople, founded by the soldiers of the Fourth Crusade. Some of the people in my nation, myself included, can trace our ancestry to medieval knights. I am a descendant of the Villehardouin family. We speak a variety of languages, like French, Venetian and Greek. We are a constitutional monarchy, with an Emperor and Prime Minister."
"Ah that's very facinating. I'm not of any such noblity. My family has been mostly farmers. I'm really the first to go into poltical scene. If you are wondering I'm 26 years old. I skipped several grades graduated early served in the UN and on Parliament and have carried this country through two wars. That's about as impressive as I get."
She chuckled.

"Your life seems fascinating." Baldwin replied respectfully. "My family sometimes went into politics or went into other fields, my ancestor, Geoffrey Villehardouin wrote: "De la Conquête de Constantinople". I was a member of Parliament for some time, I learned from my father, who was one himself."
"By the way, is it time for the press meeting?"
(OOC: I'm going into surgery tomorrow. So I very much doubt I will be on. I will see if I can get on in the following days)

(OOC: Yep I'm aokay the surgery went fine)
"One could say that. Karou's family has been in polotics since the country was founded. Her ancestors we're aboard the first ship that sailed to Kanami. You'll learn more about our early history after the confrence. It wonders me non of her family have been Prime Minister yet. Well we best take off now."
Elenore lead him out to the car. "Well if you have anymore questions about our country or the city of Carmina Gadalica, now is the time to ask."

"That is quite interesting, I do not mind learning more after the conference." Baldwin said as he followed Elenore. "I cannot seem to think of any more questions at the moment." Baldwin said as he and Elenore got into the car.
As the car drove off to where the conference was being held, Baldwin thought about the meeting. It was going well, and though he did not say it to Elenore, he thought she was a pretty young woman, reminding him of a girl he had known in his school days.
"Well then, that's perfectly fine."
They rode all the way to the Parliamentry Garden. They arrived to the swarm of press. The Marine Band played out with music bearing some respemblence to Hail to the Cheif. Marine rose the Flag of Kanami and the flag of Latin Byzantines. "Just follow me to the podiums."
Elenore took the right, Baldwin took the left. "Good afternoon everyone. I'm please to welcome the newest freind and comrad to Kanami,The Constitutional Monarchy of Latin Byzantines. Baldwin followed Elenore to the podium, watching the Marine Band play their music and the raising of the flags and listened to what Elenore had to say to the press before he began to speak. He spoke in a calm tone and watched as the press wrote down notes:
"Good afternoon. As you may have heard, we are pursuing a friendship between our nation and the nation of Kanami, who I may saw is a well kept and hospitable nation. My thoughts on these negotiations is that our nations should pursue a friendship that will a benefit to both of us. Though we may disagree on issues, I hope that our new friendship can withstand such things."
Baldwin looked at Elenore for a bit after he spoke before waiting for a response from his fellow politician. Elenore was a respectable politician, Baldwin thought, and he hoped as well that this friendship would be good.
"Yes, as Kanami has proven we can bypass in the idelogical conflict in the intrest of common good. I belive both of our nations have similar intrests and similar intrests. I see we have some questions, please."
"Prime Minister Romney, now that Kanami is comming out of it's temporary withdrawl, how do you think this act of freindship and bond will encourage others?
"Since Kanami was attacked, we have been in a state of politcal withdrawl to ensure the safety of our comrads and allies. But now that was have resolved such conflict, it's time to seek out a new freind. Kurona and Aqua Anu will always be our best freinds, but we need more and whether the nation is old or young, we will be there to be a freind."
"My question is for Prime Minster Villehardouin, as a younger nation what do think about your progress about seeking freindship?

"Yes that sounds great. I still have yet to show him the jet fountain." The press laughed lightly.
Prime Minsiter Romeny have you given gifts to our kind visitor?

"My nation was founded by settlers from the Latin Empire (established in 1204/The 4th Crusade) who left the nation sometime before the Byzantines, who had lost their homelands to the founders of the Latin Empire, took back Constantinople (after they had secured most of their former lands) the namesake of our capital, New Constantinople. Baldwin had already taken his seat but he stood up to greet Elenore's cabinet before he sat back down. He was now meeting with Elenore's peers in government, this seemed like an extention of their meeting. Hopefully, the negotiations would go good.
"Well first, we would like you to get aquainted with our early history. Please draw the drapes."
The room was darkend and a projection was put on. It was the same educational film used in all schools through Kanami.
Kanami is a nation founded upon principals of philosophy, theology, and democracy. A group of various people from countries of the Pacific banded together, with one thing in common. They hated their Governments. Some came from countries with no morals, no principals, others from tyrannical dictatorships, and places of complete anarchy. Many were in search for a better place, a place of refuge, or fresh and fertile farmland. Under the leadership of a young, but strong and feisty swords girl, name Yasashii Himura Her name ironically meaning, gentle,
Yasashii was orphaned at age five and was taken in by a master swordsman. From him she learned not only the ways of the sword, but of religion, philosophy, and politics. She came to value the importance of democracy, and what it stands for in the world. Since then she has lived her life trying to improve the world around her. She began to teach others the things she was taught, but the local government disapproved of this. Since then she was threatened and eventually ambushed, beaten and left for dead. She was nursed back to health by a sympathetic group, who felt the same way as she did, and admired her for her courage to do what was right, even after the government ambushed her. They were also amazed at her vast knowledge for such a young age of only 16. They voted unanimously to make her leader of the group. Yasashii, reluctently took the position, with great humility and humbleness.
When word got out that this new underground committee was teaching non government-approved material, they attempted to put a stop to them once and for all. Fearing for the lives of her fellow members, Yasashii ordered a mass evacuation of everyone and anyone apart of the committee, and who wanted to escape tyranny. "It's time to throw off the shackles of oppression. And from our own colony. Run by the people for the people and with the people."-Yasashii Himura Diary Entry. Yasashii stated that to all the people she knew, and to many on the street, much to great risk. The people selflessly left everything behind, to form a colony in the name of principals. Thousands boarded a ship called the S.S. Oka or Cherry Blossom. The journey was long and rough. The Pacific wasn't so pacifistic as it's name so deceivingly meant. Storms battered the ship often, and supplies ran short. "The weather shows no signs of ever changing and we are expending our supplies so sooner than expected, because the weather keeps slowing us down. I pray for land fall soon, even if it is already inhabited. Anything to at least restock out much needed food and water." Journal Entry-Two Weeks At Sea.
However no nation wanted a band of rebels, and few were ever willing to supply the ship. Many navy ships chased them away. Three weeks and six day's into the Journey a brutal storm struck. The ship was tossed around for hours, and many areas of the ship flooded, even Yasashii's own cabin flooded. By morning the storm had finally cleared, and in the distance there was a great mass of land, completely unoccupied. Yasashii was first off the ship and declared: "May this land that we settle upon, be known as Kanami, (Meaning Our Port in the Storm) "For the long journey we struggled and tossed and turned on the stormy seas, of life and nature. Here we can form our new Republic."
The first animal spotted on the mainland was a hawk, and t was also found that Hawks inhabited the land. Amazingly, Kanami was also rich in natural resources, the Kanamians were well educated freely, and were told how to use the resources properly. "I fell truly blessed by God to have landed on a place so large, and so rich in natural resources. It is amazing that no other nation in the world has ever found this place, and settled it. Just a mass of land, nothing but wild animals vast forests, rich soil, and good solid foundations. The seas around it were treacherous sure, but still, I'm baffled by it. But still, writing by moonlight of my hopes for the future of this Republic, is a most wonderful feeling." Diary Entry-Fist Night. Carefully Yasashii helped form a constitution, and Government.
The Republic continued to live in peace for many years. But the peace would soon come to an end. Other nations began to look upon the tiny republic with envious eyes. Its rich natural resource bank drew the interest of Capitalists, power hungry dictators, kings, queens, emperors, and empresses sought to annex the nation for its own outpost to add to it's roster of control. Eventually one nation marched in. The still fragile Republic, took up arms and fought, including Yasashii. She fought only with her sword, and wisdom. Hopelessly out numbered, Kanami's Parliament and ideals seemed doomed. Non the less they all fought bravely, and miraculously the enemy was defeated, and driven out. Kanami fearing further invasions, declared it's self independent, and granted the Parliament Democratic powers. Yasashii was the nations first and youngest Prime Minister. She declared: "And this our motto shall be, Unity, Justice, Freedom, Peace for All People." Which has since become a controversial statement amongst the people of the nation and of the world. Some wonder what she actually meant. It was read in her diary, that she meant it literally. "I have chosen our motto, unity, justice, peace, freedom for all people. And it is my wish that my fellow citizens will uphold this. Not just for themselves, but for all the world as well. City and country folk alike should band together to uphold the inalienable rights of others. I hope the world shall improve over time, untill then may Kanami remain free from the scourges of corruption, and may it remain a free republic based on morals and principals of the people. While in a democracy not everyone gets their way, all the time. Everyone should get there way, at least once. God Bless us all. "
Kanami would come dangerously close to corruption. While Yasashii was away, to help others who sought the nation, the Parliament fell into corruption. The Vice Prime Minister was granted emergency powers, in the event Yasashii would die on the journey. He seized control of the National Economy, the militia, the navy, and the Parliament. He conspired with several big business of the region, along with the Pacific Communist Party, to turn the resourcefully rich nation, into a Communist-Capitalist Nation, solely of the benefit to the party, and the party's many corporate sponsors. Yasashii got wind of this news and hurried back into Kanami, to confront V.P. Yukito Mako. The two engaged in a now infamous duel known as Himura v. Mako. Yasashii with her superbious sword techniques killed Yukito and restored democratic order to the parliament, and regained control over the Armed Forces. She also enacted a checks and balance system, to assure no party would gain too much power. She also enacted a secret society known as The Order of the Hawk. A special elite group of hand picked people to assure Governmental order and stability. As to who is a member is strictly clacified; not even the Prime Minister or the Cabinet knows. It's has long become the stuff of legend and many wonder if it even exists.
Yasashii would die 16 years later, at age 32, from Shinjiku Syndrome. She was burried with the highest of honors. The people of the nation are forever grateful to Yasashii Himura, and to the others who gave everything for Kanami, and the people.

Baldwin watched the film about Kanami, it was informative and easy to understand. He did not expect he would be watching a film, but he did not mind doing so. After it ended, Baldwin looked at Elenore and said:
"Your nation's early history is quite interesting, Kanami has endured much over the years. However, I have one question. What is "Shinjiku Syndrome"? I can not recall this particular syndrome."
