OOC: The main gun's max range is only 140 yards?

Contemporary tanks such as the M1A1 and Leopard 2 will hit target kilometres away. Against a Nakil or a Warhound, 740 yards on the main gun is not good. And as the TM-1 are also slower, it will be an uneven match-up at best. Even Javelin shoulder launched ATGMs have a range of 2000m.

I'd advise that the range and speed be addressed for the TM-2, as a baseline alteration.

Being as this is my first time with something with this I am glad for the lecture

Yeah, 740 yards isn't very far, considering that the Rheinmetall 120mm L/44 gun mounted on the Abrams, Merkava, and Leopard tanks (among others) can shoot out to about 4,000 yards from what I checked.

Also, I question how one can put a 140mm gun on a tank weighing just 45 tons, unless it's a short-barrel, low-velocity gun which really does have a poor maximum range, for a tank at least.

Um... where did you get the MG-45 6.66mm Machine Guns

OOC:
This was his first stab at a tank. A noble effort.

As for the 6.66mm MG...well gee that is such an original number I cant imagine how he came up with it... OBviously he copied TPM, of course that would explain the design.

Greston,
Good try, really it was.
But since you obviously have the internet try googling real life modern tanks so what I tank should be like, read about them, read about the guns the armor. The whole shot.

There are people on here who spend countless hours researching ,etals for armors precise L/D ratios for LRPs, what type of propellant works best for what round, so forth and so on...they do this because they find it fun. They sell their ideas, and so people have come to expect a certain caliber of sales thread...at least the Old Heads have come to expect that.

Now if you dont want to put all that work into your design then that is fine, but...people will come in and tear your design apart so you had best be prepared to handle that.

Again I think you had the concept down you just need to refine the details, keep trying...good job.

I mean its fine if someone wants to make their own round that happens to be the same dimensions as my 6.66mm Dante (6.66x46mm), but I would like a little RP to go with it. Its also a little suspicious since I also use the MG-45 designation already for one of my heavier machine guns, although my latest 6.66mm machine gun is actually designated MG-46 Rampage. So again if you are going to develop your own line of 6.66mm ammo and weapons thats fine, but actually develop them, don't just pop them out of no where. Or you can just go and buy the actual guns from me along with some expensive production rights -_-.

@ Skibereen: Greston has had contact with me before, and I am in fact the founder of the Big Stupid Alliance which he lists in the OP, so I don't think its a coincidence.
