Small arms sought.
The Protectorate of Lyras seeks production and modification rights for an interim non-experimental modular individual weapon system. The system shall consist of multiple marks, including: Ultra Compact (UC), Carbine, Marksman and Light Support Weapon (LSW). All variants need to function in both semi-automatic and automatic firing modes, with the LSW's predominant firing mode being fully automatic. The UC variant is to provide personnel with an enhanced close quarter battle capability, and is still to provide effective lethality through 250 m. The Carbine is intended to be the standard issue weapon to every single Lyran man woman and child with an effective range through 500 m. The marksman variant is to ensure accurate fire at longer ranges as well as offering an automatic rifle capability. The LSW variant is to offer the role of suppressive fire out to 700 m.
For reference, while all Lyrans are bred specifically for their combat roles, and for military service in general, only the Lyran infantry are on average upwards of two metres (6'8"). Extra consideration will be given to offers that make allowances for the unique nature of the Lyran state, and infantryman-specific models of weapon will also be considered.
All aspects of any offers will be considered, including cost and support services.

Phoenix Dynamix is interested in providing you with domestic production rights for a number of our weapons.
We first propose our AR-20 Nemeis Assault Rifle (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12528916&postcount=1) series.
We can easily convert an AR-20 Carbine to Ultra Compact specifications if it is too big as is.
Standard rates for production rights are 500% of (1,000 x individual unit cost)
If this doesn't suit you we will submit other designs.
-Phoenix Dynamix
Note to all potential vendors.
The Protectorate of Lyras issues weapons to every man, woman and child. Over 3 billion people will be trained to a very high standard in the use of this weapon system.
As such, the price that vendors are able to charge for production rights is substantially higher than that of most small arms licenses.

Upon further thought we propose a new variant of the AR-22 series of high powered weapons. It will feature a 20 inch barrel with octagonal rifling, a Picatinny rail system for mounting attachments, an integral bipod and a grenade launcher. We haven't decided on what caliber the weapon will be. So that your people can make best use of the weapon, the perfect balance between recoil, lethality, muzzle velocity and weight must be found to best suit the Lyrans. Rather than arbitrarily pick one, we have decided to offer you all available cartridges both brass cased and explosive matrix enclosed, between 6mm and 11.4mm that we currently manufacture. We have also decided, if none of those suit you, to also offer the opportunity to co-design a unique caliber specifically for this variant.
OOC: In addition to all of the rounds listed here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11239558&postcount=10). I have a writeup on a few individual rounds.

we can manufacture a Kalashnikov plant at no cost, very low price
The Kingdom of SaintB uses the Ares Assault Rifle, our most current model is the Ares III. All Ares Rifles have a range of 500+ meters, there is an available carbine version, and they are all treid and true weapons able to perform amazingly well in all situations. They are lightweight and have a high ammo capacity, they are rugged, durable, and easy to use. We also have SAW (Squad automatic weapons) we may be willing to negotiate for.
We have more information available if you are interested.

The AK-47... a good design which is why I took the base model and gave it a better shock recoil balance system and made it out of lighter materials. I gave it a drum instead of the normal Mag. (Which carries more ammo. ) Then I gave it places for new attachments as where it had none before. I improved on the old and gave much more kick-ass factor

Chadran Arms CAR-04 Wyvern
History:
The Mjölnir emerged into a storm of controversy. AWW's decision to make it's calibers interchangable, as well as arguments over the overall effectiveness of the new 7,35mm round, meant that the whole debate on which rifle to use to replace the AK-103 was still going.
Also, it was decided, at this time, that the Surtur, and the carbine version of it, were going to be replaced, as the round they fired actually reduced their overall effectiveness, as it was a full power rifle round.
The final nail in the coffin of both the Mjölnir, and the Surtur, was a scathing report, written by Col. Paula Ridzik (note: co 1st Jannisary regiment), which, in summary, derided both as over complicated, user unfriendly, and being cursed with the wrong type of rounds.
Although the colonel would, herself, use the Mjölnir in Dephire less than a month after sending in this report, that was more to do with the fact that of the varios choices, it was the best one.
Realizing that AWW was caught off guard by this, a small company by the name of Chadran arms stepped forward, to design a competor, and this would use the best features of each of the previos rifles to make a completely new one.
After extensive trials, in which this rifle was by far the most reliable of the four involved, (one prototype firing 45k rounds before the tests were concluded, having clearly proved itself superior to the other three), as well as being the most simple to manufacture, and maintain, this was the rifle the Carbandian armed forces picked to replace all current in service rifle designs, albeit the mod did suggest some minor alterations to it's safety, and sighting system.
Design:
It was decided to go back to the bullpup configuration with this design, as the folding stocks weren't really considered the best solution to shortening the rifle. Using this was placed a small empty space in the stock, which could be used for cleaning parts, as it could not hurt to keep those nearby.
To solve the ever present problem of cases flying into the user's face, the system from the FN-F200 was copied, ie to have the cases fall out well forward of the clip, and downwards, as well.
Construction:
Just like in the Mjölnir, titanium aluminium alloy was used for the internals, and over this was stretched the usual fiberglass reinforced polymer coating, covering virtually all metal, exept the forward most part of the barrel, to protect the user from heat buildup.
Maximum care was taken with designing the ergonomics, making the pistol grip, foregrip, and see through magazine, as comfortable as possible to the user.
The triggerguard was longer than normal, reaching the full length of the pistol grip, enabling heavy gloves to be worn without difficulty, this having been a added requirement.
Caliber:
A entirely new round was designed for this rifle, the caliber being 6.5mm, and the length 50mm, this having been, through extensive research, shown to be a extremely good choice for a intermediate round. (some might recognize the caliber, though..even if the round is entirely new)
Action:
A balanced action was picked. In short this basically involves two pistons, and two gas chambers, one piston acting as normally, while the other one counter balances it's movements, therefore greatly reducing the recoil felt by the user, in fact this would remove all but the effect of the bullet moving through the barrel from the recoil.
Rails, safeties, charging handle et all:
Originally it had been intended to combine a picatinny type rail, with a flip up forward sight, with the back up rear sight being mounted on top of the special sight (either a red dot, 4X scope, or a land warrior type sight), but this was the last change that the Ministry of Defense suggested.
Instead the mount for the optical sights was moved further forward, and behind it was placed a asterix type aperture sight, with a small rail on each side for protection against dust, the new sight being remeniscent of the ones on the AN-94, but with it's apertures clearly marked, and with luminous inserts to help with night fighting, even when using the back up sight.
No rail was placed under the barrel, but the Carbandian standard 30mm grenade launcher could be attached under it without much trouble.
The safety and shot selector were two seperate systems this time around, the safety being built into the pistol grip, so that the rifle could not be fired unless it was held by at least four fingers (not including thumb, but including trigger finger) while the shot selector, with it's usual three settings (single, full, 3rd bursts) being right above, and forward, of the pistol grip, in the style of the H&KG-36, the controls being on both sides of the weapon, to maximize the usefullness for left hand shooters.
The magazine release was located in front of the magazine reciever, between it and the pistol grip, easily reachable with either hand, yet not so close as to interfere with the user's grip.
The charging handle's location was on the left hand side, well forward, and high, this, yet again, being in a attempt to make the rifle usable with equal comfort by both left, and right, handed users.
The muzzle brake was somewhat unusual, looking almost like a figure eight when viewed from the side, this, somewhat unusual, configuration, having proved quite effective in testing.
CAR-04
Type: assault rifle (bullpup configured)
caliber: 6,5X50mm
operation: gas operated, balanced system
overall length: 714mm
barrel length: 420mm
weight: 3,3kg (empty)
magazine size: 35 rounds
r.o.f: 650rpm
muzzle velocity: 797meters per second
Certainly it is more accurate than any Kalashnikov assault rifle, both due to it's better sights, and balanced action.

To all parties.
Thank you for expressing an interest in this equipment procurement request. All offers have been carefully scrutinized, and will be examined further pending a final decision.
Carbandia: Your CAR-04 Wyvern is very much of interest. In particular, the dual piston balanced action is something that we would like more information on, specifically with reference to its adaptability to alternate systems.
Nueve Italia: The rifle you have offered is indeed what you say, reliable, cheap and effective. However, we are not sure that it is effective enough to justify re-equipping our entire population with it. More information is welcome, however.
SaintB: We certainly are curious to know more. What can you tell us of the Ares series?
Adjikstan: Thank you for the offer of Kalashnikov manufacturing facilities. However, our primary national industry is arms manufacturing, so the extra capacity is not required. Nevertheless, thank you.
Freedonia42: I did a university course on the objective and relative strengths of the AK-47 and subsequent versions. I am well aware of its capabilities, but am thus also aware of its weaknesses. Its inaccuracy, for one, and its fair-to-middling effective range. No. I want more. Although, incidentally, you could have been more polite.

Given that it has been, in the past, used in more conventionally configured rifles (ooc: it is pretty much the same system as the AEK-971 uses), then it should fit most requirements.
It should also be noted that our new Dragoon lmg uses the same system, but due to army requirements it is not available for export at this time, sadly.

The people of HuThAtrms believe they have a weapons sstem to your liking:
CM-26/28 'Heavy Assault rifle'
With attached HM-320 40 mm mortar
CM-26
Type: Automatic Weapon
Caliber: 6.5 x 55 mm
Barrel Length: 20"/508 mm
Overall Length: 30"/762 mm

CM-28 has modified bolt group to allow for a folding stock, is cheaper to produce, but slightly heavier.
Both weapons rated to safely fire 'Ultra-high pressure test' AP bullets.
To get an idea of what that means, take a 7.62x54R round, fill it to the brim with explosives, and have it drive a bullet with almost twice the ballistic coefficent of any 7.62 mm on the market...
There are other features, such as rails, sight, quick change barrels, 20" barrel extensions, and longer lasting barrels... But those are just minor details...
HM-320 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10796159&postcount=15) (Stats for when operated by single person, a designated loader may ramp-up ROF)

Here is a breif informational packet on the Ares Family of Rifles. It includes descriptions and vital statistics on all the Ares Assault rifles.
Ares AR
Ares-AR was developed in the early 1970's by the previous regime and was the standard armament of the country's soldier until 1995. Built along the same lines as the American AR-15 the weapon consists of aluminum, plastics, and steel construction. Original production models had available semi-auto, 3 shot burst fire, and full-auto capabilities but difficulties caused by the weapons firing mechanism lead to only single and burst fire models being produced beginning 1978. Despite the flaw in the weapon's design the Ares-AR was a good and sturdy weapon capable of underwater fire and could penetrate body armor reliably. Military issue versions of the Ares-AR have been discontinued in production but a civilian model is available for sale and is compatible only with a 15 round clip the civilian model only fires in semi-automatic mode.
Caliber: 5.56 x 45 NATO M855
Action: Gas Operated w/ rotating bolt
Overall Length: 982 mm
Barrel Length: 513mm
Weight Empty/ Loaded: 3kg/ 3.8 kg
Magazine: 35 round clip +1 in chamber
Cyclic Rate: 700 rounds per minute
Muzzle Velocity: 960 m/s
Maximum Effective Range: 500 m
Ares II
In 1995 the final model Ares II rifle was released and outmoded the old Ares-AR. The Ares II model is capable of fully automated fire unlike its predecessor thanks to advances in plastics making and firing mechanisms but is still capable of underwater operation. Some of the other advances of the Ares II include the use of a 40 round double clip and improved range. The Ares II is also compatible with the M203 grenade launcher and other standard accessories found on today's battlefields (scopes, laser sights, bipods, etc.). As of 2007 the Ares II is being cycled out and replaced by the new Ares III.
Caliber: 5.56 x 45 NATO M855
Action: Gas Operated w/ rotating bolt
Overall Length: 985 mm
Barrel Length: 513mm
Weight Empty/ Loaded/ Ammo Barrel: 3.2kg/ 4 kg/ 5.2 kg
Magazine: 40 round double clip or 120 round barrel +1 in chamber
Cyclic Rate: 700 rounds per minute
Muzzle Velocity: 960 m/s
Maximum Effective Range: 545 m
Ares III
Brand new for 2007 the Ares III is truly worthy of its namesake. Its new molded fiberglass, aluminum, and carbon fiber construction makes it extremely lightweight and still durable. The Ares III is compatible with all standard accessories and features even greater range, cyclic rate, and muzzle velocity to give it a place on the 21st century battlefield. A new gas emissions system allows for superior recoil adjustment in burst and full auto modes so that the soldier is not forced to compensate further for the weapons light weight. As could the weapons ancestors the Ares III is capable of underwater firing.
Caliber: 5.56 x 45 NATO M855
Action: Gas Operated w/ rotating bolt
Overall Length: 985 mm
Barrel Length: 513 mm
Weight Empty/ Loaded/ Drum: 2.8 kg/ 3.6 kg/ 4.8 kg
Magazine: 40 double round clip or 120 round barrel +1 in chamber
Cyclic Rate: 725 rounds per minute
Muzzle Velocity: 980 m/s
Maximum Effective Range: 555 m
Ares Elite AR-Carbine
Based off the Ares II design, the Ares Elite AR Carbine is standard issue for the Kingdom of SaintB's Spec. Ops. teams. The Elite comes standard with top mounted 3x zoom scope and integral sound and flash suppressor. The elite features an innovative launcher for LTL (Less than Lethal) munitions when killng is to be avoided, the launcher is capable of handling air foil and taser rounds and is detachable for use an m-203 grenade launcher. The weapon is also equipped with a retracting butt-stock to help reduce recoil during automatic fire and is able to accept the following accessories; bi-pod or tri-pod and side or undermounted laser sights.
Caliber: 5.56 x 45 NATO M855
Action: Gas Operated w/ rotating bolt
Overall Length: 770 mm
Barrel Length: 435mm
Weight Empty/ Loaded: 2.7 kgs/3.35 kgs
Magazine: 25 round clip +1 in chamber
Cyclic Rate: 700 rounds per minute
Muzzle Velocity: 960 m/s
Maximum Effective Range: 475 m

NSWiki Write-up (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/AR-44A1/A2)
[AR-44 and Variants]
The AR-44 (Assault Rifle, Model 44) is a high-powered, light, modular rifle that is comprised of four variants: AR-44A1 (standard infantry), AR-44A2 (compact/officers weapon), SAW-44 (squad automatic weapon), and DM-44 (designated marksman).
The weapon uses the 6.8mm SPC Hydra Shok 115 Grain "magnum" round. The round comes in many varieties, including Hollow-Point, Tracer, Kinetic Energy, Armor Piercing, Ball, Frangible, and Blended Metal.
Image: AR-44A1 and -A2 (http://http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i65/Asgarnieu/ar-44_redo.jpg)
In addition to the Assault Rifle, the AR-44A1 variant has a 12-gauge shotgun permanently mounted to the bottom of the gun. It has a six-round capacity, and fires many different shells, including a grenade shell; eliminating the need for heavier, single-purpose, single-shot grenade launchers.
-----
The two less-common variants, the SAW-44 and DM-44, have the same operating systems, but different looks.
The SAW-44 has a longer barrel and an integral bi-pod. There is also an anti-aircraft sight. There is a heavier barrel in place with a carrying handle, and a much larger flash-supressor. The round used is the 7.62 x 39mm.
The DM-44 has a longer barrel and a high-powered scope with multiple zoom levels, up to 12 times magnification. The barrel has a silencer thread standard, as well as an integral shell-catching device. The round is a heavier .338 Lapua Magnum.
-----
The AR-44 and variants are gas-operated, air-cooled weapons, and offer minimal kick; comparable to the M-16 series.
The weapon is configured in the "bullpup" layout, allowing even the -A2 variant to have considerable accuracy at 300+ yards.
-----
[Specifications]
-Length: 44 Inches
-Weight: 10.7 Pounds
-Calibers: 6.8mm/12GA (other variants use .338 Lapua Magnum and 7.62mm)

-Operation System: Gas-operated, air-cooled
-Fire Control Selection: Safe-Semi-Auto (burst on -A2, auto only on SAW, semi only on DM)

PSYDEFENSE INTERNATIONAL
PsyDefense International would like to present its line of small arms:
THE XACR CARBINE
The XACR Carbine was developed by PsyDefense as an improvement of the old and obsolete M4/M16-type carbines and rifles.By replacing the M16 rotating bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation by a gas piston system developed by PsyDefense the XACR does not introduce propellant gases or carbon fouling back into the weapon’s internal, making it the most reliable of any M4/M16 type weapon.
The origins of the XACR began with the realization of the deficiencies of the direct gas impingement (gas tube) operating system found on conventional M4/M16-style weapons. Input from the users of current M4/M16-type arms, high-speed video assessment, and extensive live-fire testing in extreme operational environments such as the deserts and revealed multiple areas for improvement.Improvements were made to the internal operating system and miscellaneous component parts to improve reliability in best and worse case scenarios, with all types of ammunition, with all barrel lengths and with and without sound suppressors attached.
An innovative free-floating 4-quadrant rail system allows all current accessories, sights, lights, and aimers used on M4/M16-type weapons to be fitted to the XACR. The rail system can be installed and removed without tools.
The PsyDefense proprietary gas system uses a piston driving an operating rod to control the function of the bolt, preventing propellant gases and the associated carbon fouling from entering the weapon’s internal parts. This increases the reliability of the weapon and extends the interval between stoppages. It also reduces operator cleaning time, heat transfer to the bolt and bolt carrier, and wear and tear on critical components.
To improve reliability, service life, and operator safety during obstructed bore occurrences or after extreme extended firing sessions, the XACR uses barrels produced by cold hammer forging process.
The highest quality steel is used in this unique manufacturing process producing a barrel that provides superior accuracy for greater than 20,000 rounds with minimal degradation of accuracy and muzzle velocity.XACR variants are available with 10.4, 14.5, 16.5, and 20 inch (264, 368, 419, 508 mm) barrels. All XACR variants also have "OTB" (Over-the-beach) capability and can be safely fired after being submerged in water and not completely drained.
In addition to the improvements in the baseline weapon,PsyDefense has produced a corrosion resistant "High-Reliability" Maritime magazines and a proprietary buffer to improve functional reliability.
An add-on single shot 40 mm x 46 or 30mm Grenade Launcher Module can be quickly attached to the rail system of all models without tools.
PsyDefense has applied its proven and fielded Safe Blank Fire Attachment and Live Round Excluding Magazine technology to the XACR, eliminating the possibility of live rounds being loaded into and fired through a standard issue weapon outfitted for blank firing only.
The XACR is available as complete carbine or rifle or as a "drop-in" XACR upper receiver module for use on the lower receivers of existing M4/M16 type weapons.

XACR Light Machine Gun
http://i12.tinypic.com/6akqn36.jpg
The XACR Light Machine Gun stamped steel receiver contains the PsyDefense proprietary gas system which uses a piston driving an operating rod to control the function of the bolt, preventing propellant gases and the associated carbon fouling from entering the weapon’s internal parts. This increases the reliability of the weapon and extends the interval between stoppages. It also reduces operator cleaning time, heat transfer to the bolt and bolt carrier, and wear and tear on critical components.
