Granate

Sanayug (The Guyanas). A region north of the Republican Monarchy, that has a rich history that intertwines itself with that of Granate's. It was tributary state to Granate when Granate first unified under the Monarchy. During the turbulent times of the Late Monarchy, Dictatorship, and the Republic it was stricken from the list as Tributary states as it was small and almost usefulness.
Late in the Republic Era, Sanayug was added to Granate as a new province, although the people of the province resisted at first, they eventually grew to like Granatian Rule. But then in 1853, the Monarchy returned to Granate and allowed Sanayug to return back as Nation State not apart of Granate. Since, then the relations between the two states have been quite good, atleast until 2003.
In 2003, a series of murders happened in northern Granate. The killers were eventually found in Sanayug, but the government of Sanayug refused to extradite the killers. A series of events followed that strained the relations to the breaking point. Eventually the Granatian government gave up trying to get the killers extradited, but two weeks later the killers were found dead in a Sanayug motel. The Granatian Government was blamed and the already bad relations worsened. Since then, the two countries have simmered between each other.
Now, in the year 2007, Granate seeks to Pay the Sanayugians back... in full.

Long have you stood at our northern doorstep, and long has our relationship been good. But that all changed when you refused our simple request for the extradition of the persons we asked for. In doing so, you have strained our relations further then they should of been. Your nation blames us for the persons in question demise, and that too has strained our relations.
No longer will we stand for this intolerance or ineptitude. We will give you one chance to surrend your land and your government now. By doing so we can have a peaceful transition. But if you refuse, you will feel the full might of Granatian Military.
Sincerely
