Sanayug (The Guyanas). A region north of the Republican Monarchy, that has a rich history that intertwines itself with that of Granate's. It was tributary state to Granate when Granate first unified under the Monarchy. During the turbulent times of the Late Monarchy, Dictatorship, and the Republic it was stricken from the list as Tributary states as it was small and almost usefulness.

Late in the Republic Era, Sanayug was added to Granate as a new province, although the people of the province resisted at first, they eventually grew to like Granatian Rule. But then in 1853, the Monarchy returned to Granate and allowed Sanayug to return back as Nation State not apart of Granate. Since, then the relations between the two states have been quite good, atleast until 2003.

In 2003, a series of murders happened in northern Granate. The killers were eventually found in Sanayug, but the government of Sanayug refused to extradite the killers. A series of events followed that strained the relations to the breaking point. Eventually the Granatian government gave up trying to get the killers extradited, but two weeks later the killers were found dead in a Sanayug motel. The Granatian Government was blamed and the already bad relations worsened. Since then, the two countries have simmered between each other.

Now, in the year 2007, Granate seeks to Pay the Sanayugians back... in full.

To: The Confederation of Sanayug
From: The Republican Monarchy of Granate

Long have you stood at our northern doorstep, and long has our relationship been good. But that all changed when you refused our simple request for the extradition of the persons we asked for. In doing so, you have strained our relations further then they should of been. Your nation blames us for the persons in question demise, and that too has strained our relations.

No longer will we stand for this intolerance or ineptitude. We will give you one chance to surrend your land and your government now. By doing so we can have a peaceful transition. But if you refuse, you will feel the full might of Granatian Military.

Sincerely
Granatian Foreign Affairs

OOC: Suriname, or no Suriname, included?

IC:

Sanayug

A bit excessive, this man, thought Prime Minister Raul Florez. He was Sanayug's essential government leader, and the Republican Monarchy's demand to him was simply another big nation of the world trying to push their mush. It wouldn't past Sanayug-a nation with a proud history. There was none of this international bullying...at least, not on Florez's watch.

He was quick on a return address-the Monarchy could shove it.

Addressed to the Republican Monarchy of Granate

Your proposal is preposterous. We can talk it over in a more formalized setting, if you would actually like to accomplish anything.

OOC: Suriname is considered Dutch Guiana, so yea it's included. Sanayug is Guyanas backwards.

The Prime Minister was seething. How dare this little nation that was barely big enought to call itself a nation talk back to the greatest Kingdom on the South Lucian Continent (South America, Granatians like to name shit Lucian.). He was past considering diplomacy as a viable option, mainly because he had a promise to live up to. He knew he had the King's blessing in all things while the King was away and the Prime Minister decided to make use of his new power as Temporary Commander-In-Cheif.

The Prime Minister sent message to the Commander of the Granatian Forces that were quietly amassing around the Sanayug border. The message told him to close down the border and make sure that all trade items were confiscated and people of unknown origin detained. Slowly, the Prime Minister would have the military close the noose around around the Sanayug nation, until it squealed with it's final breath. He also made sure to send one last message to the Sanayug government.

To: The Confederation of Sanayug
From: The Republican Monarchy of Granate

Your attempts, although noble in a odd way, are futile. We will have you joinm with us one way or another. Would you rather have thousands of your people displaced by a horrible war, or would you rather be hailed as the man who joined the Confederation with the Republican Monarchy and set about an era of Good Relations between our two peoples?

Think hard on this, for this is the last warning. Even now, we are constricting your nation. That is a testament to our resolve.

With no reply from the Sanayug leader, the Prime Minister knew what he had to do. He immediately phoned/radioed all of the major Military Leaders and had them meet in Lucianus. By the next day all of the needed people were there and they discussed their plan of action. It was reletively straight-forward. Seeing how the Sanayug nation numbered barely over 2 million compared the Republican Monarchy's 200+ million it would be a simple war of attrition. The jungles of Sanayug might pose a problem to those who did not grow up in an area with Jungles, but for Granatian's it did not matter. Junglecraft was high up on the list of Granatian skills.

The meeting finalized the troops that were to be deployed to Sanayug. They would be the following:

12th Mechanized Division (12,000 Men, 500 Vehicles), Argyll Highlanders
16th Mechanized Division (12,000 Men, 500 Vehicles), New Munich Raiders
181st Jager Regiment (2,000 Men), Argyll Twisters
2nd Armored Battalion (1,000 Men with around 75 Vehicles), The Uru Black Guard

Also a detachment of Fighters from the Air Force would be available for bombing runs. The detachment includes the following:

14th Strike Squardron (12 GEM FA-15 Cardinals)
15th Strike Squardron (12 GEM FA-15 Cardinals)
90th Tactical Squardron (6 F-23 Black Widows, 3 GEM FA-15 Cardinals, 3 E8 Growlers)

A small detachment of the Navy will also be deploying to the waters outside of the Sanayug nation. The following ships will be deployed:

CG-50 Restitute Restitute Class (Ticonderoga Class)
F-170 Formidable Formidable Class (La Fayette Class)
F-171 Duty Formidable Class (La Fayette Class)
LCS-30 Hinterland Hinterland Class (Visby class)
LCS-31 Arathi Hinterland Class (Visby class)
LCS-32 Stranglethorn Hinterland Class (Visby class)
