Overview
This is to clear up any "unknowns" about what happened in the past in EFJ seeing as how this is an NS-based Earth. Also, it's to spice things up - what happened in a nation's history could affect what happens now in the international area. Post important events in your country's history in the following format:
Year (i.e. 1234): So-and-so dies - civil war rages for five months before the new government takes place - one that would decide the fate of "country name" for the next 500 years.
And so on. Try not to put in too much - only the events that really mattered. That way, it won't get all cluttered, especially with the number of people we have joining. If your history interacts in some way with another nation, work it out with that nation as to what happened (i.e. - was there a war over some piece of land 300 years ago - if so, how did it start/end, etc.). This allows for tensions and/or nice feelings to already exist between nations, which might lead to wars or alliances.
When labelling landmasses, try to make up your own name for them (so it's NS-based) or if you want to keep it the same, that's fine too. But if you're changing the name, label RL's name for that landmass in parentheses. Like, Futuria (England) was settled by...
EDIT: I will be editing your history into this first post. Thus, try to make each year as if it were alone (i.e. we know who it's about, as in has your country's name somewhere in there). Also, since I will be editing everyone's history into here, please try to make it as concise as possible. Also, in cases where a war is included in between two nations, I will take narrations of the war from both nation's histories (posted up here) and blend them into one narration for easier reading. If you think my narrating techniques are crap, just tell me and I'll try to make it better.
History of Earth: Final Judgement
4000 BCE - 0 CE
865 BCE - A tribe that calls themselves, Calizorinstanian's, settles in Calizorinstania (California United States).
765 BCE - A tribe that called themselves "Futurians" builds primitive sailing boats and migrates to the isles later to be known as Futuria (Ireland, UK).
0 CE - The Germanic Tribe, Kohrborn, extends their domain from the upper Danube to the borders of present-day Corbournne, bringing themselves into conflict with the Roman Empire over the region.
1 - 1000
68 - After making little progress against Rome for over half a century, Nero's forced suicide, and the ensuing war, result in great land gains for the Tribe.
476 - After the fall of the Empire, the Tribe quickly expands to cover all of Corbournne's modern-day territory.
522 - Prince Augustus Patriaics flees Zimmwaden (Our word for Italy, from a sort of Quasi Roman Empire) and goes into hiding in the Germanic forests. There he challenges Chief Ravzaggen of a local village for his title, and subsequently with Augustus’ knowledge of modern weapons defeats the chief but spares his life to serve the Prince. The village of Waldenburg becomes the first municipality of the Waldenburg Empire, which is declared in December.
523 to 540 - Through 17 years Augustus slowly gains more villages, mainly through the dispatching of their leaders, and the killing of senior officials. When at all times possibly war was avoided and the Empire was slowly built from the ground up. With the capture of Strienlikstern (Berlin) all of Germany was under the control of the Waldenburg Empire and in 540 Augustus was coroneted High King of all Germanic peoples.
547 - The High King dies leaving behind him, to his knowledge, the first modern state, with a judicial fair judicial system, tariffs and a comprehensive welfare state. (Waldenburg)
548 - Roger von Waldenburg ascends the throne through a controversial series of events including the torching of the original Waldenburg village. In comparison to his predecessor, Roger was a terrible monarch and undid most of the work laid down by Augustus. More often then not he was found drunk with noblewomen and occasionally with their children.
551 - Roger and the entire Royal family are murder by the Dukes of Strienlikstern, Bremen, and Clauseglibben (Flensburg) their bodies are publicly displayed throughout every town in Kingdom. (Waldenburg)
555-705 - After Roger’s murder Waldenburg toyed with a council of lords for four years but the system was obviously flawed and more nobles then not were waiting for it’s downfall rather then in improving it. In 555 the Council of Lords was burned with all members present, the families of their noble families were taken to the place where Waldenburg once stood and also burned. Civil war was rather a given, and literally hundreds of warlords rose up in the space of a hundred years and torched everything the Kingdom once had. Briefly in 640 the Kingdom was reunited under High King Rupert, but similarly fell apart through corruption. It is estimated that I these wars had not happened the population of Waldenburg would be over 200,000,000 today.
703 - Having heard of the tremendous bloodshed in the Germanic provinces, the Catholic Church sent it’s first missionary to report back on his findings in Central Europe. Alberto Feranzzino was given a mule and made to ride through the Alps to distressed Waldenburg, where luckily for him he found a generally kind Warrior Prince, named Wyatt von Waldenburg the bastard son of Roger who has escaped persecution. Though kind Wyatt was also a Waldenburg, the smell of burning enemies never seemed to leave the nostrils. Alberto was shocked and his letters to Zimmwaden attested his horror at the situation. The Catholic Church for unknown reasons told him to stay, that he could do well amongst the barbarians, even though they had a nasty tendency to chop of people’s appendages apparently at random. Prince Wyatt, order the priest to accompany him to a battle in the forests near Clauseglibben where the priest would see the ferocity of the Waldenburg people.
The records are somewhat sketchy from this point; it is unknown what the Priest did for the time between 704 and summer of 705. There is in fact only one last entry, where the priest in mentioned, and in fact the entry that decided the fate of the Waldenburg Empire. Clauseglibben the agreed upon capital of the former Waldenburg kingdom, was under siege the war of reunification was almost over, Wyatt was about to seize the capital and announce his birth right which would be confirmed by several other lords tired of bloody slaughter. There was however one last battle to win, and on July 14, 705 Wyatt’s armies of slightly under thirty thousand gather around the city to face an army twice their size. As the numbers suggested the battle went very poorly and Wyatt’s forces were driven in full circuit around the city and out to the thrashing waters of the Blazaunder Sea (Baltic)
Apparently at this moment Alberto had a change of heart, ferocity he could see would save many people and the Church had commanded him to help. A commonly excepted belief of the battle goes that the Priest kneeled down to pray on the edge of the battle as his liege was being driven back. He then raised his arm to the air while, a flock of Ravens flew over anticipating the battle’s end, a sword appeared in his hands, set with sapphires and etched with pictures of the Saints. At this point Alberto followed his priestly intuitions and proceeded to slaughter two hundred enemies personally. When he lost his sword in the heat of battle it is said he continued the battle with his teeth, and then with an enemies head, flung around by the flowing locks. Wyatt von Waldenburg was incredibly impressed as his mild mannered confessor to walk through a hail of arrows and cavalry charges to the enemy Prince and rip his throat out.
The battle was over, no one seemed able to hit the priest, who was soaked head to toe in blood by eyewitness reports on both sides, though the story of the battle itself is rather confused. Within the hour Wyatt von Waldenburg was sitting on a hastily assembled throne wearing a crown hastily beaten of silver goblets. Within a year of the battle the Kingdom of Waldenburg (Still just Germany) had converted to Catholicism, and Feranzzino had made Cardinal. The sword and several other items from that day were kept in the Cathedral at Strienlikstern.
712 - The Waldenburg kingdom was on the rise again though not on the same par as two hundred years, it would take centuries to achieve the same level of advancement. Wyatt von Waldenburg hadn’t had to do any slaughtering in over five years and was quite board before a border incident (Germany Denmark) ignited a flame between the two counties. Wyatt led several sallies to no avail and lost around 40,000 men while trying to attack across the 68-kilometer border. Eventually to surpass that problem the first royal navy was created and took 30,000 men right into Blünderburg (Copenhagen.) This new tool lead to a quick rap up of the northern campaigns and (Denmark, haven’t thought of a name yet) was bound the Kingdom.
719 - The Waldenburg Empire is declared, all lands under Wyatt von Waldenburg are declared the Waldenburg Empire and covert and submit to the Catholic Church.
723 - Sweden and Norway become client kingdoms of the Empire, uniting them in a status, which still remains today. (Waldenburg)
724 - Wyatt von Waldenburg I dies and in cremated and his ashes scattered at the old village of Waldenburg.
725 - The Church is given partial political control over the state and the municipal system of Government begins. A golden age is declared as Waldenburg slowly rebuilds form centuries of warfare. Political isolationism starts in vogue.
850 - At tax is instituted on the Oresund strait and Waldenburg begins construction of the new modern Imperial navy which is the entity in service today.
966 - The Futurians, after having lived on Futuria peacefully for more than a thousand years, decide to band together in an organized form of government, and form a country called Futuris.
1000 - Iceland is settled and converted. (Waldenburg)
1001 - 1500
1100 - Cardinal Hans Grimger leads a small band called the Divine Legion to put down a rebellion in Groddenburg (Norway) this became the Imperial and ecclesiastic guard still in service today. (Waldenburg)
1105 - Under the order of Cardinal Grimger and Emperor Edward von Waldenburg the Imperial inquisition sets up and begins to purify the Empire.
1201 - The renamed Kingdom of Corbournne attempts to invade the Futurian homeland (Belgium) in a series of assaults. Futuris's heavy fortifications from earlier in the year force Corbournnian troops back. The heavy casualties sustained by Corbournne are cause enough to force the abdictation of the King, and he is deposed. At this victory, Futuris devotes more time to naval power, and discovers the "New World". However, their interests lie still in Europe, and they strengthen naval power around there.
1233 - After licking their wounds from the horrid, terrible defeat they had suffered at the hands of the Futurians thirty-two years ago, the Corbournnian Army, under the command of the former King's son, again sets out on a mission of conquest. This time, though, the target is Holland. After the smooth take-over there, the soldiers prepared to strike south into the Futurian homeland, which they had now flanked.
1234 - The Army invades Futuris from the rear, causing mass panic and chaos. Within a month, the whole region is under the control of Corbournne, and all Futurian prisoners are slaughtered.
1454 - The Kingdom of Corbournne sets its sights south to the Iberian Peninsula, but, instead of attacking through the treacherous mountains (Pyrennes), the Army intelligently bypasses them via a fleet convoy to the southwestern opposite end of the landmass. The sailing takes quite a bit time, as they have to avoid the Futuran fleet by traveling through the Mediterranean. Easy conquests are to be found, and soon, the whole of present-day Portugal was under Corbournnian control. The troops are more eager to pillage and plunder the lands they've taken, though, and progress is slow. So slow, in fact, that word gets to Futuris before they have overran more than a tiny strip of the peninsula.
1455 - The soldiers consolidate their claim over the one-fifth of Iberia they've conquered, but, unbeknownst to them, Futurian troops have landed to the north of them, and are rapidly advancing throughout the land.
1456 to 1457 - Futurian soldiers, turning back from a sucessful campaign against the remaining holdouts in the southwestern mountains, come in contact with the forward columns of the Corbournnian advance, and a light skirmish ensues. Eventually, though, the whole of both armies are brought to bear, and a bloody affair takes place, resulting in a stalemate, and a war. While the Corbournnian King orders fruitless after futile attack on entrenched Futuran positions in Iberia, Futuris plans a reconquest of their homeland (Belgium). Their amphibious assault forces find little resistance, and the invasion goes easily and as planned. This convinces the King's advisors to persuade him to sue for peace, which he does. Futurian terms are admirably generous, as they only call for a cease of hostilities at the current line of battle.
1458 - It was till another failed war, however, and this time, there was no strong son to emerge out of the controversy over who should be King. Instead, a peasant revolt triumphed over the forces of the squabbling advisors, and the Republic of Corbournne was declared.
1462 - After multiple failing expedtion's to South Calizorinstania (Mexico) that was inhabited by pagan tribes, 1 expedition under the command of Jacob Slovic, succesfully marches down to Roxican City, where the major pagan tribe ruled all of South Calizorinstania, and conquered South Calizorinstani for Calizorinstania.
1472 - Jacob Slovic unsuccesfully attempt's a revolution, the start of the brief Calizorinstanian Civil War, and flee's to North Calizorinstania, and found's the Kingdom of True Calizorinstania, and raid's Main Calizorinstania succesfully, kidnapping several governors, and demanding ransom.
1482 - Romand Arkand the leader of Main Calizorinstan, attempt's and expedition into the Kingdom of True Calizorinstania, and partially succeed's, taking a small portion of the Kingdom of True Calizorinstania.
1492 - Jacob Slovic fight's back, take's back the land from Arkand, capture's him, and make's him an aide, and then strike's down into Main Calizorinstan, and succeed's in taking back Main Calizorinstan under his rule.
1500 - Jacob Slovic dies of old age, his son John Slovic take's over, make's Anglicanism the official state religon, and strike's the Kingdom of South Calizorinstania, and take's a small amount of land.
1500 - The University of Blünderburg in burned for teaching heretical materials, it’s professors and burned alive in the city. (Waldenburg)
1500's
1515 - John Slovic succesfully conquer's the Kingdom of South Calizorinstania, thus finishing the 40 year campaign his father started to reunite Calizorinstania, make's a constitution, and fight's the native Indian's.
1578 - John Slovic dies of old age, his son Bob Slovic take's over the reign.
1590 - Yellow Fever rips through Waldenburg and kills nearly 500,000 people. Dr. Vander is burned alive for attempting finding a cure.
1600's
1610 - The infamous Parliment riot, a man that's a cousin once removed of Bob, stormed the Parliment over what he claimed was "Imperial Tyrrany", and killed 15 valued member's of parliment, tried to kill Bob, but they fought in an epic duel worthy of a story in Parliment, and Bob's famous saying "Nver give up, without fighting to the last" is now the official motto of Calizorinstan. Bob managed to fight off his cousin, and slew him, but soon after, Bob is assaisnated outside Parliment by an unknown assasin, and with his only heir kidnapped Calizorinstani went into complete chaos. Soon after Bob was assasinated, a new, terryifing man came to power, Peter Chilvez, from the Calizorinstani territorry of "Easastble" (Venuzeuala), came to power by terrible force, his army had a hard battle with the rightful Calizorinstani army, but defeated it after 9 hours of fighting. He then modeled it into one of the first socialist republic's in the EFJ world, using a secret form of police called the "Enstasi", who'd report religous people, he killed the bishop of the local church, and several preist's, and banned religon forever, nothing was good about his rule as El Dicatoraente!
1632 - After initial economic disputes, Futuris decides to establish a post on Gibraltar to control trade, and tax ships as they pass. However, merchant ships merely avoid the Futurian shore, and pass by on the other. This prompts Futuris into preparing for an invasion of Northern Africa to secure the other coastline.
1633 to 1636 - The invasion of Africa is launched. Over the three year campaign against native tribes, Futuris manages to conquer much of Northwestern Africa (Morocco, Algeria). The region is renamed as Casablanca, and the capital of the African province is named Casablanca City.
1640 - Bob Slovic's long lost heir Terry Slovic came back to Calizorinstan, with an army of 15,000 strong, from the Northern Land's of Calizorinstania, of course Peter was scared, so he tried to convince people of the evil's that Terry's ancestor's had committed, but they didn't believe it. They revolted, and with the help of Terry and his men, they overthrew and killed the evil man that had caused so much damage.
1650 - Terry sat on his righful throne, and supervised the reconstruction of the land, bringing back religon, made the Anglican Church the national church, rebuilt the houses burned down during the dark ages, and made monument's, not to himself, but to the people that perserverd during Peter's reign, that believed he would come back again, you could say this was the making's of the golden age of Calizorinstania.
1650 - Iceland rebels against the Empire seizing half of the navy, and declaring itself an atheist republic. Unfortunately within a month it was no longer half the navy and the Church launched an attack with the navy, which it rented, and with the Divine Legion. Iceland is completely wiped out, the population is decimated, one in ten killed after the war had already reduced the population by 40%. Governor Luther Bleed is burned alive, and, the Church torches every town above 1000 people. (Waldenburg)
1680 - Terry set off to conquer a new territory known as, "Igustias" (Guatamala", south of "Roxican" (Mexico), the previously acquired territory, and he faced fierce resistance from the "Ragdagdle" (Mayan/Olmec hybrid type tribe) tribe, and they had fierce battle's, but finally, they acquried Igustia's as part of Calizorinstania, and thus the final border's were set, for the continental Calizorinstan State's as we know it today.
1700's
1710 - The doctrine of peace is signed, the Catholic Church no longer may try children under the age of twelve, for crimes punishable by death or mutilation. Thousands of prisoners are released from the Cathedral in Blünderburg, who attest to being tortured for some times as much as 20 years. Heresy by this time is nearly stamped out, and arrests and executions are cut by ninety percent. (Waldenburg)
1710 - Terry Slovic dies, is given a grand funeral, and mummified, and put into a grand maloseum, which was a pyramid, like the Great Pyramid at Giza, but a more elaborate passage's and trap's, and no robber has ever gotten past the gate without some difficulty. Nielsen Slovic succeed's him to the throne, and start's another glorious reign.
1710 to 1755 - Nielsen rule's the country wisely, avoiding conflict's when possible without repercussion's, was the second most popular monarch in Calizorinstania, and was a wise ruler, succesfully put down a revolt in the Calizorin area (California) with out any heavy losses, and was revered by all who knew and respected him. He was responsible for the creation of the Slovic Armory, and the first gun the Armory made was the 1754 Pattern Musket, with an easy to load powder hole, and it was a reliable gun. He also order's the creation of sidearm's, and ship's and cannon's. Thus the Army grew, and so did the Navy, and the Calizorinstanian Marine Corps was founded in 1735 CE, at the instruction's of King Nielsen Slovic himself. Sadly, his reign came to an abrupt end, when he was shot by his cousin Stephano Slovic, and Stephano strangley ascended to the throne.
1712 to 1850 - A wave of nationalism and economic prosperity hits the country, and the Church for the first time allows major scientific research. Dr. Brethough Bernstein implements gas technology in heating and lighting in 1850. (Waldenburg)
1750 - Courbornnian explorers proclaim the land theirs, and subsequently unite the tribes under their rule.
1760 - When Stephano ascended to the throne, he switched the official religon to Roman Catholicism, and banned Anglicanism from Calizorinstania, in response, the Calizorin area broke off, along with the Alsikna (Alaska RL USA) area, and they created the Holy Anglican Empire of the True Calizorinstania, under the wise rule of John Slovic, Nielsen's rightful heir, but John's force's wern't yet strong enough to take on Stephano, so he bid his time.
1765 - Courbornne creates a client state, the Dominion of Zuluhilia, in the territoires. It takes after their left-leaning ways.
1776 - Diamonds are discovered in Zuluhilia, and large amounts of Dutch settlers move in to prospect tha lands.
1778 - Hans Schroeder arrives in Zuluhilia from Europe.
1784 - After buying a large track of forest and unearthing the largest load of diamonds in the history of Zuluhilia, Hans Schroeder starts the Schroeder Trading Company which begins to acquire large amounts of wealth from its diamonds.
1796 - Stephano made the dreadful mistake of shooting the Archbishop of Bostian (RL Boston), himself, that sparked a revolution. Now that John would have supporters, he made a descive blow in the Taxian (RL Texas) state, capturing it for the Holy Empire of the True Calizorinstania, and he pushed Stephano further and further back, until Stephano surrendered in 1798 CE.
1800's
1800 - When John Ascended to the throne in 1800 CE, he announced that when he retired, or upon his death, the monarchy was to be abolished in favor of a democratic republic, people were stunned, but they took it in stride, trusting thier leader knew what he was doing. (Calizorinstan)
1802 - When Hans dies, the Company is taken over by his son, Alouise. Alouise begins to pay off gov't officials to look teh other way when it comes to profits and work practices, which comes at a success. (Candistan)
1820 - Eighteen years have passed since Alouise took over the Company, and his reach into the gov't is deep. He has connections in every corner he can find, and slowly begins making the gov't dig a dep hole for itself. (Candistan)
1837 - The expansion. The company begins to grow into more and more sectors than trade, including agriculture, mining, and most importantly, military. The Company begins to manufacture arms for the Zuluhilian Gov't as well as several other clients. A mercenary group is formed and begins picking out hte best of the best in the Zuluhilian Military and luring them away with higher pay and better work. (Candistan)
1840 - With pressure from Alouise, the Zuluhilian military invades their northern neighbor, Angolia (RL Angola) in the wake of a massive gold discovery. The Zuluhilian military is assisted by three mercenary groups, one of which was owned by the Company outwardly. (The other two were puppet organizations to get around regulations set by Zuluhilia on mercenary groups.) (Candistan)
1844 - Angolia is taken and the company constructs mines and plantations there, utilizing slave labor. Due to bribes, the Zuluhilian gov't ignores these atrocities. (Candistan)
1845 - Wyatt von Waldenburg ascends the throne at the age of 18.
1850 - The Schroeder Company has all gov't defense contracts, most agricultural conatracts, and a mining monopoly in Zuluhilia. Gov't opposition groups begin crying wolf, but with fixed elections and massive amounts of hidden corruption, they are paid no heed. The greediness in the gov't is beginning to take a toll.
1857 - Futuris further strengthens naval power. The routes between provinces are controlled by Futurian ships, and the Strait of Gibraltar provides a steady income. Futuris renames itself as the "World Empire of Futuris" to account for the many territories that it holds outside of the mainland. It enters a golden age.
1862 - The Company is passed on to Adolphus Schroeder after his father, Alouise, succumbs to malaria.
1864 - The first balloon is seen in Waldenburg, along with the first Iron Clad, telegraph. Natural resources are heavily exploited in the client Kingdoms.
1864 - John is unamiously elected the first president of the Calizorinstan Confederate States, and serve's 1 4 year term, he bring's peace, and prosperity, and bring's the second golden age of Calizorinstan.
1871 - Corbournne begins to take notice of the corruption in Zuluhilia when shipments from the client-state begin to come less and less from the gov't there and more and more from the Schroeder Corporation. Investigators are sent in to observe the goigns on in the African state.
1874 - The investigators are picked off one by one with no witnesses. The opposition points at the Company, but once again the gov't pays no heed and aggrees with the Company's blame versus Agnolian Rebels. The company begins to lure more and more skilled soldiers away from the Zuluhilian military with better pay and treatment. The Zuluhilian military power begins to wane.
1879 - The Company evolves into a corporation with many new branches coming into reality. The Schroeder Corporation becomes a supergiant, buying out almost all other businesses in the nation, including many gov't firms. The Corporation secretly supplies rebel groups in Agnolia with arms for a plan they have to achieve total control of the Zuluhilian lands.
1885 - Revolution. Agnolia starts a campaign against the Zuluhilian gov't to achieve independence, and the Zuluhilians mobilize. Unfortunately, most of their good soldiers are now mercenaries working for Schroeder or the other puppet mercenary firms. As the Zuluhilian conscripts pour into Agnolia, the Corporation simply does as it has, while somehow safely removing its goods from Agnolia.
1887 - The Battle of Richstatd's Gulch. The Zuluhilian military suffers a major defeat to the Agnolians who outgun them with superior firepower. Zuluhilia loses control of its Agnolian possessions. As the nation suffers in defeat, Corbournne begins to lose interest in its failing Client-State. The few investments left are pulled, leaving the Zuluhilians to look to the Schroeder Corporation for loans. A significant debt accumulates, and the plan that took three generations to pull off is finally coming in play.
1895 - After a study done by an international military observer magazine, it has been shown that the PMC's in Zuluhilia are not only better trained and equipped than the nations military, but they outnumber them by a large margin. So far, no one outside the corporation knows that the five largest PMC's in Zuluhilia are controlled by the same company: Schroeder.
1899 - After dying in a boat crash, the most pivitol leader of the Corporation, Gerhard, comes into the scene. (Candistan)
1900's
1900 - The population of Blünderburg reaches 5 million and travel to none Catholic countries is legalized. (Waldenburg)
1901 - Collapse of Zuluhilia. With lefitsm crumbling under the wieght of its corruption, Gerhard strikes. All loans are called in by the corporation, causing the already bankrupt gov't to descend into anarchy. The military attempts a coup, but to the dismay of the military, the five PMC's are united as one under their owner, Schoreder Corp. After a quick and bloody defeat, the military and the Zuluhilian gov't are crushed. Gov't leaders are exiled to Europe with the ones who revolted being killed. Schroeder PMC's declare martial law for a period of five years while the rats are rooted our and the lands are made safe to operate in.
1901 to 1906 - Martial Law, Period of Reconstruction. (Candistan)
1908 - Gerhard makes a secret aggreement with his PMC generals that if it takes a hundred years, Agnolia will be retaken by the corporation. Funds start being sent to the opposition capitalist group there, UNITA. (Candistan)
1916 - Crown Prince Felix von Waldenburg (I think I rather enjoyed that RP) taking considerable powers from his aging and good natured father, making him head of the armed forces and ISS (Imperial Special Services.) At a peace conference in the Balkans, he arranged for a war to begin when his entourage was attacked also killing several important figures in other delegations. Wyatt von Waldenburg is murdered simultaneously in Blünderburg, apparently by treacherous ministers. After discovering the Waldenburg plot against them, Corbournne invaded and quickly conquered much of the country. The chemical weapons and bombardment of the cities they had under their control slowed them down, but still, they forced the surrender of the Waldenburg Army not long after. Their fleet had already defeated their Waldenburgian counterparts, and was already bombarding the capital city of Blunderburg. The army force marched throughout the night, and arrived at the gates of the city in the early morning. Although the army and navy had already surrendered, the city remained loyal under the close grasp of Felix von Waldenburg. When the enemy troops approached the Emperor absconded in several zeppelins fighting against the superior air forces of the enemy, the Zeppelins course was unknown and the prince escaped leaving several burning zeppelins behind him. There was a popular uproar in Corbournne, however, after the terms of the surrender were made public. All Waldenburg had to do was pay reparations, and their Corbournnian homeland gained nothing. This led to a quick, decisive, nationalist revolution that overthrew the Republic, and brought about the current state of the Nationalist Corbournnian Realm...
1917 - Edward von Waldenburg II is crowned Emperor.
1917 to 1960 - Reparations are paid and the Empire begins to pick itself up again, yet again the Clergy take advantage of the situation to increase their power. (Waldenburg)
1920 - Assault on Agnolia. Schroeder PMC's move into the country and along with UNITA, begin a takeover of the nation.
1921 - International response. From their respective exiled nations, the former Zuluhilian officials begin to push for the nations around Agnolia to push the PMC's out. Mercenaries from European and surrounding nations move into Agnolia and the main conflict begins.
1921 to 1924 - The War of the Mercenaries. Over twenty different mercenary factions battle in the Agnolian jungles for their client's interests. Agnolia's cities become destitute wastes of bombed-out buildings and burning automobiles. Technically, the only nation that actually fought the war was Agnolia, but at least ten other nations had proxies fighting in their places.
1924 - Schroeder PMC's pull out due to extremely bad odds. With seven sides in the war, the Schroeder Corp. sees no other way to go other than leaving. Eventually, Agnolia pushes the other nations out, but UNITA forces still thrive there to this day.
1926 - The Great Recession. With speculation and other such practices going out of control, the Territorial economy falters. Many are out of work, and the m\darkest part of the Corporation's history begins. Communists and other leftists begin to gain power in the black majority with the Afrikaaner minority clinging to the Corporation.
1932 - The Second Revolution. Communists begin an assault on Preatoria with arms supplied by various leftist nations. The Corporation got the break it was looking for, and manufacturing went into high gear. While the PMC's fought off the Reds in the street, the workers kick themselves into a frenzy pumping out products like there was no tomorrow.
1934 - The Battle of Cape Town. PMC's make an amphibious landing on the last stronghold of the Communists, landing and massacring the enemy forces. Blood Blacks, as they became called, were set apart from Loyalist Blacks and Afrikaaners in the population in a half-Apartheid situation. The Bloods form the BLA.
1940 - Gerhard Dies on August 14th. A national holiday is declared. For the first time in history, a non-Schroeder leads Schroeder Corp. His name is Alvin Retekker. Retekker begins reforms in the Corporation splitting it into the branches that stand today. The Council of Executives is formed and the populace, aside from the Bloods, enjoy many new freedoms.
1942 - Second Agnolian Incursion. The newly declared Schroeder Defense Industries PMC's secretly move into Agnolia and meet with UNITA forces who have prepared an assassination of the Agnolian leader, Wyclef Simmons. Simmons is barely holding the nation together as it is, and his death was to bring about a total anarchist movement in the nation.
1943 - Simmons is assassinated. Warlords from around the country scramble for power while the PMCs and UNITA make an assault on the Capital. It is taken, and the area is shut down.
1943 to 1944 - Second War of the Mercenaries.
1944 - After suffering a massive defeat at the hands of various warlords, UNITA pulls back to the capital. With their capture imminent, UNITA and PMC forces begin to set charges in the buildings of the city as well as prepare five massive chemical bombs to go off once several UNITA suicide bombers set the fuse. With the city in tatters after the demolition, PMCs and UNITA orces pull out. Warlord forces move in and as planned, the five suicide bombers do their work. Five large chemical weapon delivery systems are blown, spreading deadly Sulfur Mustards and Diphosgene all over the city. Massive casualties are inflicted.
1945 to Present - The Second Agnolian Civil War. With Simmons dead, the warlords battle for control. Three major factions control the country to this day, excluding UNITA.
1950 to 2010 - The energy renewal project, the major foundation of the modern state, will change the Waldenburg Empire over to entirely renewable energy. Already Iceland is entirely green. Estimated end of the project in 2010.
2000 - ?
The climate of the world begins to change. An ominous shadow is cast upon the world due to climate change and the soon-to-be shifts of power as nations take on a more international role. An increase in worldwide tensions as well as violence leads to an age of uncertainty and doubt as to what might happen...
Overview
This is to clear up any "unknowns" about what happened in the past in EFJ seeing as how this is an NS-based Earth. Also, it's to spice things up - what happened in a nation's history could affect what happens now in the international area. Post important events in your country's history in the following format:
Year (i.e. 1234): So-and-so dies - civil war rages for five months before the new government takes place - one that would decide the fate of "country name" for the next 500 years.
And so on. Try not to put in too much - only the events that really mattered. That way, it won't get all cluttered, especially with the number of people we have joining. If your history interacts in some way with another nation, work it out with that nation as to what happened (i.e. - was there a war over some piece of land 300 years ago - if so, how did it start/end, etc.). This allows for tensions and/or nice feelings to already exist between nations, which might lead to wars or alliances.
When labelling landmasses, try to make up your own name for them (so it's NS-based) or if you want to keep it the same, that's fine too. But if you're changing the name, label RL's name for that landmass in parentheses. Like, Futuria (England) was settled by...
EDIT: I will be editing your history into this first post. Thus, try to make each year as if it were alone (i.e. we know who it's about, as in has your country's name somewhere in there). Also, since I will be editing everyone's history into here, please try to make it as concise as possible. Also, in cases where a war is included in between two nations, I will take narrations of the war from both nation's histories (posted up here) and blend them into one narration for easier reading. If you think my narrating techniques are crap, just tell me and I'll try to make it better.
History of Earth: Final Judgement
4000 BCE - 0 CE
865 BCE - A tribe that calls themselves, Calizorinstanian's, settles in Calizorinstania (California United States).
765 BCE - A tribe that called themselves "Futurians" builds primitive sailing boats and migrates to the isles later to be known as Futuria (Ireland, UK).
0 CE - The Germanic Tribe, Kohrborn, extends their domain from the upper Danube to the borders of present-day Corbournne, bringing themselves into conflict with the Roman Empire over the region.
1 - 1000
68 - After making little progress against Rome for over half a century, Nero's forced suicide, and the ensuing war, result in great land gains for the Tribe.
476 - After the fall of the Empire, the Tribe quickly expands to cover all of Corbournne's modern-day territory.
522 - Prince Augustus Patriaics flees Zimmwaden (Our word for Italy, from a sort of Quasi Roman Empire) and goes into hiding in the Germanic forests. There he challenges Chief Ravzaggen of a local village for his title, and subsequently with Augustus’ knowledge of modern weapons defeats the chief but spares his life to serve the Prince. The village of Waldenburg becomes the first municipality of the Waldenburg Empire, which is declared in December.
523 to 540 - Through 17 years Augustus slowly gains more villages, mainly through the dispatching of their leaders, and the killing of senior officials. When at all times possibly war was avoided and the Empire was slowly built from the ground up. With the capture of Strienlikstern (Berlin) all of Germany was under the control of the Waldenburg Empire and in 540 Augustus was coroneted High King of all Germanic peoples.
547 - The High King dies leaving behind him, to his knowledge, the first modern state, with a judicial fair judicial system, tariffs and a comprehensive welfare state. (Waldenburg)
548 - Roger von Waldenburg ascends the throne through a controversial series of events including the torching of the original Waldenburg village. In comparison to his predecessor, Roger was a terrible monarch and undid most of the work laid down by Augustus. More often then not he was found drunk with noblewomen and occasionally with their children.
551 - Roger and the entire Royal family are murder by the Dukes of Strienlikstern, Bremen, and Clauseglibben (Flensburg) their bodies are publicly displayed throughout every town in Kingdom. (Waldenburg)
555-705 - After Roger’s murder Waldenburg toyed with a council of lords for four years but the system was obviously flawed and more nobles then not were waiting for it’s downfall rather then in improving it. In 555 the Council of Lords was burned with all members present, the families of their noble families were taken to the place where Waldenburg once stood and also burned. Civil war was rather a given, and literally hundreds of warlords rose up in the space of a hundred years and torched everything the Kingdom once had. Briefly in 640 the Kingdom was reunited under High King Rupert, but similarly fell apart through corruption. It is estimated that I these wars had not happened the population of Waldenburg would be over 200,000,000 today.
703 - Having heard of the tremendous bloodshed in the Germanic provinces, the Catholic Church sent it’s first missionary to report back on his findings in Central Europe. Alberto Feranzzino was given a mule and made to ride through the Alps to distressed Waldenburg, where luckily for him he found a generally kind Warrior Prince, named Wyatt von Waldenburg the bastard son of Roger who has escaped persecution. Though kind Wyatt was also a Waldenburg, the smell of burning enemies never seemed to leave the nostrils. Alberto was shocked and his letters to Zimmwaden attested his horror at the situation. The Catholic Church for unknown reasons told him to stay, that he could do well amongst the barbarians, even though they had a nasty tendency to chop of people’s appendages apparently at random. Prince Wyatt, order the priest to accompany him to a battle in the forests near Clauseglibben where the priest would see the ferocity of the Waldenburg people.
The records are somewhat sketchy from this point; it is unknown what the Priest did for the time between 704 and summer of 705. There is in fact only one last entry, where the priest in mentioned, and in fact the entry that decided the fate of the Waldenburg Empire. Clauseglibben the agreed upon capital of the former Waldenburg kingdom, was under siege the war of reunification was almost over, Wyatt was about to seize the capital and announce his birth right which would be confirmed by several other lords tired of bloody slaughter. There was however one last battle to win, and on July 14, 705 Wyatt’s armies of slightly under thirty thousand gather around the city to face an army twice their size. As the numbers suggested the battle went very poorly and Wyatt’s forces were driven in full circuit around the city and out to the thrashing waters of the Blazaunder Sea (Baltic)
Apparently at this moment Alberto had a change of heart, ferocity he could see would save many people and the Church had commanded him to help. A commonly excepted belief of the battle goes that the Priest kneeled down to pray on the edge of the battle as his liege was being driven back. He then raised his arm to the air while, a flock of Ravens flew over anticipating the battle’s end, a sword appeared in his hands, set with sapphires and etched with pictures of the Saints. At this point Alberto followed his priestly intuitions and proceeded to slaughter two hundred enemies personally. When he lost his sword in the heat of battle it is said he continued the battle with his teeth, and then with an enemies head, flung around by the flowing locks. Wyatt von Waldenburg was incredibly impressed as his mild mannered confessor to walk through a hail of arrows and cavalry charges to the enemy Prince and rip his throat out.
The battle was over, no one seemed able to hit the priest, who was soaked head to toe in blood by eyewitness reports on both sides, though the story of the battle itself is rather confused. Within the hour Wyatt von Waldenburg was sitting on a hastily assembled throne wearing a crown hastily beaten of silver goblets. Within a year of the battle the Kingdom of Waldenburg (Still just Germany) had converted to Catholicism, and Feranzzino had made Cardinal. The sword and several other items from that day were kept in the Cathedral at Strienlikstern.
712 - The Waldenburg kingdom was on the rise again though not on the same par as two hundred years, it would take centuries to achieve the same level of advancement. Wyatt von Waldenburg hadn’t had to do any slaughtering in over five years and was quite board before a border incident (Germany Denmark) ignited a flame between the two counties. Wyatt led several sallies to no avail and lost around 40,000 men while trying to attack across the 68-kilometer border. Eventually to surpass that problem the first royal navy was created and took 30,000 men right into Blünderburg (Copenhagen.) This new tool lead to a quick rap up of the northern campaigns and (Denmark, haven’t thought of a name yet) was bound the Kingdom.
719 - The Waldenburg Empire is declared, all lands under Wyatt von Waldenburg are declared the Waldenburg Empire and covert and submit to the Catholic Church.
723 - Sweden and Norway become client kingdoms of the Empire, uniting them in a status, which still remains today. (Waldenburg)
724 - Wyatt von Waldenburg I dies and in cremated and his ashes scattered at the old village of Waldenburg.
725 - The Church is given partial political control over the state and the municipal system of Government begins. A golden age is declared as Waldenburg slowly rebuilds form centuries of warfare. Political isolationism starts in vogue.
850 - At tax is instituted on the Oresund strait and Waldenburg begins construction of the new modern Imperial navy which is the entity in service today.
966 - The Futurians, after having lived on Futuria peacefully for more than a thousand years, decide to band together in an organized form of government, and form a country called Futuris.
1000 - Iceland is settled and converted. (Waldenburg)
1001 - 1500
1100 - Cardinal Hans Grimger leads a small band called the Divine Legion to put down a rebellion in Groddenburg (Norway) this became the Imperial and ecclesiastic guard still in service today. (Waldenburg)
1105 - Under the order of Cardinal Grimger and Emperor Edward von Waldenburg the Imperial inquisition sets up and begins to purify the Empire.
1201 - The renamed Kingdom of Corbournne attempts to invade the Futurian homeland (Belgium) in a series of assaults. Futuris's heavy fortifications from earlier in the year force Corbournnian troops back. The heavy casualties sustained by Corbournne are cause enough to force the abdictation of the King, and he is deposed. At this victory, Futuris devotes more time to naval power, and discovers the "New World". However, their interests lie still in Europe, and they strengthen naval power around there.
1233 - After licking their wounds from the horrid, terrible defeat they had suffered at the hands of the Futurians thirty-two years ago, the Corbournnian Army, under the command of the former King's son, again sets out on a mission of conquest. This time, though, the target is Holland. After the smooth take-over there, the soldiers prepared to strike south into the Futurian homeland, which they had now flanked.
1234 - The Army invades Futuris from the rear, causing mass panic and chaos. Within a month, the whole region is under the control of Corbournne, and all Futurian prisoners are slaughtered.
1454 - The Kingdom of Corbournne sets its sights south to the Iberian Peninsula, but, instead of attacking through the treacherous mountains (Pyrennes), the Army intelligently bypasses them via a fleet convoy to the southwestern opposite end of the landmass. The sailing takes quite a bit time, as they have to avoid the Futuran fleet by traveling through the Mediterranean. Easy conquests are to be found, and soon, the whole of present-day Portugal was under Corbournnian control. The troops are more eager to pillage and plunder the lands they've taken, though, and progress is slow. So slow, in fact, that word gets to Futuris before they have overran more than a tiny strip of the peninsula.
1455 - The soldiers consolidate their claim over the one-fifth of Iberia they've conquered, but, unbeknownst to them, Futurian troops have landed to the north of them, and are rapidly advancing throughout the land.
1456 to 1457 - Futurian soldiers, turning back from a sucessful campaign against the remaining holdouts in the southwestern mountains, come in contact with the forward columns of the Corbournnian advance, and a light skirmish ensues. Eventually, though, the whole of both armies are brought to bear, and a bloody affair takes place, resulting in a stalemate, and a war. While the Corbournnian King orders fruitless after futile attack on entrenched Futuran positions in Iberia, Futuris plans a reconquest of their homeland (Belgium). Their amphibious assault forces find little resistance, and the invasion goes easily and as planned. This convinces the King's advisors to persuade him to sue for peace, which he does. Futurian terms are admirably generous, as they only call for a cease of hostilities at the current line of battle.
1458 - It was till another failed war, however, and this time, there was no strong son to emerge out of the controversy over who should be King. Instead, a peasant revolt triumphed over the forces of the squabbling advisors, and the Republic of Corbournne was declared.
1462 - After multiple failing expedtion's to South Calizorinstania (Mexico) that was inhabited by pagan tribes, 1 expedition under the command of Jacob Slovic, succesfully marches down to Roxican City, where the major pagan tribe ruled all of South Calizorinstania, and conquered South Calizorinstani for Calizorinstania.
1472 - Jacob Slovic unsuccesfully attempt's a revolution, the start of the brief Calizorinstanian Civil War, and flee's to North Calizorinstania, and found's the Kingdom of True Calizorinstania, and raid's Main Calizorinstania succesfully, kidnapping several governors, and demanding ransom.
1482 - Romand Arkand the leader of Main Calizorinstan, attempt's and expedition into the Kingdom of True Calizorinstania, and partially succeed's, taking a small portion of the Kingdom of True Calizorinstania.
1492 - Jacob Slovic fight's back, take's back the land from Arkand, capture's him, and make's him an aide, and then strike's down into Main Calizorinstan, and succeed's in taking back Main Calizorinstan under his rule.
1500 - Jacob Slovic dies of old age, his son John Slovic take's over, make's Anglicanism the official state religon, and strike's the Kingdom of South Calizorinstania, and take's a small amount of land.
1500 - The University of Blünderburg in burned for teaching heretical materials, it’s professors and burned alive in the city. (Waldenburg)

1515 - John Slovic succesfully conquer's the Kingdom of South Calizorinstania, thus finishing the 40 year campaign his father started to reunite Calizorinstania, make's a constitution, and fight's the native Indian's.
1578 - John Slovic dies of old age, his son Bob Slovic take's over the reign.
1590 - Yellow Fever rips through Waldenburg and kills nearly 500,000 people. Dr. Vander is burned alive for attempting finding a cure.
1600's
1610 - The infamous Parliment riot, a man that's a cousin once removed of Bob, stormed the Parliment over what he claimed was "Imperial Tyrrany", and killed 15 valued member's of parliment, tried to kill Bob, but they fought in an epic duel worthy of a story in Parliment, and Bob's famous saying "Nver give up, without fighting to the last" is now the official motto of Calizorinstan. Bob managed to fight off his cousin, and slew him, but soon after, Bob is assaisnated outside Parliment by an unknown assasin, and with his only heir kidnapped Calizorinstani went into complete chaos. Soon after Bob was assasinated, a new, terryifing man came to power, Peter Chilvez, from the Calizorinstani territorry of "Easastble" (Venuzeuala), came to power by terrible force, his army had a hard battle with the rightful Calizorinstani army, but defeated it after 9 hours of fighting. He then modeled it into one of the first socialist republic's in the EFJ world, using a secret form of police called the "Enstasi", who'd report religous people, he killed the bishop of the local church, and several preist's, and banned religon forever, nothing was good about his rule as El Dicatoraente!
1632 - After initial economic disputes, Futuris decides to establish a post on Gibraltar to control trade, and tax ships as they pass. However, merchant ships merely avoid the Futurian shore, and pass by on the other. This prompts Futuris into preparing for an invasion of Northern Africa to secure the other coastline.
1633 to 1636 - The invasion of Africa is launched. Over the three year campaign against native tribes, Futuris manages to conquer much of Northwestern Africa (Morocco, Algeria). The region is renamed as Casablanca, and the capital of the African province is named Casablanca City.
1640 - Bob Slovic's long lost heir Terry Slovic came back to Calizorinstan, with an army of 15,000 strong, from the Northern Land's of Calizorinstania, of course Peter was scared, so he tried to convince people of the evil's that Terry's ancestor's had committed, but they didn't believe it. They revolted, and with the help of Terry and his men, they overthrew and killed the evil man that had caused so much damage.
1650 - Terry sat on his righful throne, and supervised the reconstruction of the land, bringing back religon, made the Anglican Church the national church, rebuilt the houses burned down during the dark ages, and made monument's, not to himself, but to the people that perserverd during Peter's reign, that believed he would come back again, you could say this was the making's of the golden age of Calizorinstania.
1650 - Iceland rebels against the Empire seizing half of the navy, and declaring itself an atheist republic. Unfortunately within a month it was no longer half the navy and the Church launched an attack with the navy, which it rented, and with the Divine Legion. Iceland is completely wiped out, the population is decimated, one in ten killed after the war had already reduced the population by 40%. Governor Luther Bleed is burned alive, and, the Church torches every town above 1000 people. (Waldenburg)
1680 - Terry set off to conquer a new territory known as, "Igustias" (Guatamala", south of "Roxican" (Mexico), the previously acquired territory, and he faced fierce resistance from the "Ragdagdle" (Mayan/Olmec hybrid type tribe) tribe, and they had fierce battle's, but finally, they acquried Igustia's as part of Calizorinstania, and thus the final border's were set, for the continental Calizorinstan State's as we know it today.
1700's
1710 - The doctrine of peace is signed, the Catholic Church no longer may try children under the age of twelve, for crimes punishable by death or mutilation. Thousands of prisoners are released from the Cathedral in Blünderburg, who attest to being tortured for some times as much as 20 years. Heresy by this time is nearly stamped out, and arrests and executions are cut by ninety percent. (Waldenburg)
1710 - Terry Slovic dies, is given a grand funeral, and mummified, and put into a grand maloseum, which was a pyramid, like the Great Pyramid at Giza, but a more elaborate passage's and trap's, and no robber has ever gotten past the gate without some difficulty. Nielsen Slovic succeed's him to the throne, and start's another glorious reign.
1710 to 1755 - Nielsen rule's the country wisely, avoiding conflict's when possible without repercussion's, was the second most popular monarch in Calizorinstania, and was a wise ruler, succesfully put down a revolt in the Calizorin area (California) with out any heavy losses, and was revered by all who knew and respected him. He was responsible for the creation of the Slovic Armory, and the first gun the Armory made was the 1754 Pattern Musket, with an easy to load powder hole, and it was a reliable gun. He also order's the creation of sidearm's, and ship's and cannon's. Thus the Army grew, and so did the Navy, and the Calizorinstanian Marine Corps was founded in 1735 CE, at the instruction's of King Nielsen Slovic himself. Sadly, his reign came to an abrupt end, when he was shot by his cousin Stephano Slovic, and Stephano strangley ascended to the throne.
1712 to 1850 - A wave of nationalism and economic prosperity hits the country, and the Church for the first time allows major scientific research. Dr. Brethough Bernstein implements gas technology in heating and lighting in 1850. (Waldenburg)
1750 - Courbornnian explorers proclaim the land theirs, and subsequently unite the tribes under their rule.
1760 - When Stephano ascended to the throne, he switched the official religon to Roman Catholicism, and banned Anglicanism from Calizorinstania, in response, the Calizorin area broke off, along with the Alsikna (Alaska RL USA) area, and they created the Holy Anglican Empire of the True Calizorinstania, under the wise rule of John Slovic, Nielsen's rightful heir, but John's force's wern't yet strong enough to take on Stephano, so he bid his time.
1765 - Courbornne creates a client state, the Dominion of Zuluhilia, in the territoires. It takes after their left-leaning ways.
1776 - Diamonds are discovered in Zuluhilia, and large amounts of Dutch settlers move in to prospect tha lands.
1778 - Hans Schroeder arrives in Zuluhilia from Europe.
1784 - After buying a large track of forest and unearthing the largest load of diamonds in the history of Zuluhilia, Hans Schroeder starts the Schroeder Trading Company which begins to acquire large amounts of wealth from its diamonds.
1796 - Stephano made the dreadful mistake of shooting the Archbishop of Bostian (RL Boston), himself, that sparked a revolution. Now that John would have supporters, he made a descive blow in the Taxian (RL Texas) state, capturing it for the Holy Empire of the True Calizorinstania, and he pushed Stephano further and further back, until Stephano surrendered in 1798 CE.
1800's
1800 - When John Ascended to the throne in 1800 CE, he announced that when he retired, or upon his death, the monarchy was to be abolished in favor of a democratic republic, people were stunned, but they took it in stride, trusting thier leader knew what he was doing. (Calizorinstan)
1802 - When Hans dies, the Company is taken over by his son, Alouise. Alouise begins to pay off gov't officials to look teh other way when it comes to profits and work practices, which comes at a success. (Candistan)
1820 - Eighteen years have passed since Alouise took over the Company, and his reach into the gov't is deep. He has connections in every corner he can find, and slowly begins making the gov't dig a dep hole for itself. (Candistan)
1837 - The expansion. The company begins to grow into more and more sectors than trade, including agriculture, mining, and most importantly, military. The Company begins to manufacture arms for the Zuluhilian Gov't as well as several other clients. A mercenary group is formed and begins picking out hte best of the best in the Zuluhilian Military and luring them away with higher pay and better work. (Candistan)
1840 - With pressure from Alouise, the Zuluhilian military invades their northern neighbor, Angolia (RL Angola) in the wake of a massive gold discovery. The Zuluhilian military is assisted by three mercenary groups, one of which was owned by the Company outwardly. (The other two were puppet organizations to get around regulations set by Zuluhilia on mercenary groups.) (Candistan)
1844 - Angolia is taken and the company constructs mines and plantations there, utilizing slave labor. Due to bribes, the Zuluhilian gov't ignores these atrocities. (Candistan)
1845 - Wyatt von Waldenburg ascends the throne at the age of 18.
1850 - The Schroeder Company has all gov't defense contracts, most agricultural conatracts, and a mining monopoly in Zuluhilia. Gov't opposition groups begin crying wolf, but with fixed elections and massive amounts of hidden corruption, they are paid no heed. The greediness in the gov't is beginning to take a toll.
1857 - Futuris further strengthens naval power. The routes between provinces are controlled by Futurian ships, and the Strait of Gibraltar provides a steady income. Futuris renames itself as the "World Empire of Futuris" to account for the many territories that it holds outside of the mainland. It enters a golden age.
1862 - The Company is passed on to Adolphus Schroeder after his father, Alouise, succumbs to malaria.
1864 - The first balloon is seen in Waldenburg, along with the first Iron Clad, telegraph. Natural resources are heavily exploited in the client Kingdoms.
1864 - John is unamiously elected the first president of the Calizorinstan Confederate States, and serve's 1 4 year term, he bring's peace, and prosperity, and bring's the second golden age of Calizorinstan.
1871 - Corbournne begins to take notice of the corruption in Zuluhilia when shipments from the client-state begin to come less and less from the gov't there and more and more from the Schroeder Corporation. Investigators are sent in to observe the goigns on in the African state.
1874 - The investigators are picked off one by one with no witnesses. The opposition points at the Company, but once again the gov't pays no heed and aggrees with the Company's blame versus Agnolian Rebels. The company begins to lure more and more skilled soldiers away from the Zuluhilian military with better pay and treatment. The Zuluhilian military power begins to wane.
1879 - The Company evolves into a corporation with many new branches coming into reality. The Schroeder Corporation becomes a supergiant, buying out almost all other businesses in the nation, including many gov't firms. The Corporation secretly supplies rebel groups in Agnolia with arms for a plan they have to achieve total control of the Zuluhilian lands.
1885 - Revolution. Agnolia starts a campaign against the Zuluhilian gov't to achieve independence, and the Zuluhilians mobilize. Unfortunately, most of their good soldiers are now mercenaries working for Schroeder or the other puppet mercenary firms. As the Zuluhilian conscripts pour into Agnolia, the Corporation simply does as it has, while somehow safely removing its goods from Agnolia.
1887 - The Battle of Richstatd's Gulch. The Zuluhilian military suffers a major defeat to the Agnolians who outgun them with superior firepower. Zuluhilia loses control of its Agnolian possessions. As the nation suffers in defeat, Corbournne begins to lose interest in its failing Client-State. The few investments left are pulled, leaving the Zuluhilians to look to the Schroeder Corporation for loans. A significant debt accumulates, and the plan that took three generations to pull off is finally coming in play.
1895 - After a study done by an international military observer magazine, it has been shown that the PMC's in Zuluhilia are not only better trained and equipped than the nations military, but they outnumber them by a large margin. So far, no one outside the corporation knows that the five largest PMC's in Zuluhilia are controlled by the same company: Schroeder.
1899 - After dying in a boat crash, the most pivitol leader of the Corporation, Gerhard, comes into the scene. (Candistan)

1900 - The population of Blünderburg reaches 5 million and travel to none Catholic countries is legalized. (Waldenburg)
1901 - Collapse of Zuluhilia. With lefitsm crumbling under the wieght of its corruption, Gerhard strikes. All loans are called in by the corporation, causing the already bankrupt gov't to descend into anarchy. The military attempts a coup, but to the dismay of the military, the five PMC's are united as one under their owner, Schoreder Corp. After a quick and bloody defeat, the military and the Zuluhilian gov't are crushed. Gov't leaders are exiled to Europe with the ones who revolted being killed. Schroeder PMC's declare martial law for a period of five years while the rats are rooted our and the lands are made safe to operate in.
1901 to 1906 - Martial Law, Period of Reconstruction. (Candistan)
1908 - Gerhard makes a secret aggreement with his PMC generals that if it takes a hundred years, Agnolia will be retaken by the corporation. Funds start being sent to the opposition capitalist group there, UNITA. (Candistan)
1916 - Crown Prince Felix von Waldenburg (I think I rather enjoyed that RP) taking considerable powers from his aging and good natured father, making him head of the armed forces and ISS (Imperial Special Services.) At a peace conference in the Balkans, he arranged for a war to begin when his entourage was attacked also killing several important figures in other delegations. Wyatt von Waldenburg is murdered simultaneously in Blünderburg, apparently by treacherous ministers. After discovering the Waldenburg plot against them, Corbournne invaded and quickly conquered much of the country. The chemical weapons and bombardment of the cities they had under their control slowed them down, but still, they forced the surrender of the Waldenburg Army not long after. Their fleet had already defeated their Waldenburgian counterparts, and was already bombarding the capital city of Blunderburg. The army force marched throughout the night, and arrived at the gates of the city in the early morning. Although the army and navy had already surrendered, the city remained loyal under the close grasp of Felix von Waldenburg. When the enemy troops approached the Emperor absconded in several zeppelins fighting against the superior air forces of the enemy, the Zeppelins course was unknown and the prince escaped leaving several burning zeppelins behind him. There was a popular uproar in Corbournne, however, after the terms of the surrender were made public. All Waldenburg had to do was pay reparations, and their Corbournnian homeland gained nothing. This led to a quick, decisive, nationalist revolution that overthrew the Republic, and brought about the current state of the Nationalist Corbournnian Realm...
1917 - Edward von Waldenburg II is crowned Emperor.
1917 to 1960 - Reparations are paid and the Empire begins to pick itself up again, yet again the Clergy take advantage of the situation to increase their power. (Waldenburg)
1920 - Assault on Agnolia. Schroeder PMC's move into the country and along with UNITA, begin a takeover of the nation.
1921 - International response. From their respective exiled nations, the former Zuluhilian officials begin to push for the nations around Agnolia to push the PMC's out. Mercenaries from European and surrounding nations move into Agnolia and the main conflict begins.
1921 to 1924 - The War of the Mercenaries. Over twenty different mercenary factions battle in the Agnolian jungles for their client's interests. Agnolia's cities become destitute wastes of bombed-out buildings and burning automobiles. Technically, the only nation that actually fought the war was Agnolia, but at least ten other nations had proxies fighting in their places.
1924 - Schroeder PMC's pull out due to extremely bad odds. With seven sides in the war, the Schroeder Corp. sees no other way to go other than leaving. Eventually, Agnolia pushes the other nations out, but UNITA forces still thrive there to this day.
1926 - The Great Recession. With speculation and other such practices going out of control, the Territorial economy falters. Many are out of work, and the m\darkest part of the Corporation's history begins. Communists and other leftists begin to gain power in the black majority with the Afrikaaner minority clinging to the Corporation.
1932 - The Second Revolution. Communists begin an assault on Preatoria with arms supplied by various leftist nations. The Corporation got the break it was looking for, and manufacturing went into high gear. While the PMC's fought off the Reds in the street, the workers kick themselves into a frenzy pumping out products like there was no tomorrow.
1934 - The Battle of Cape Town. PMC's make an amphibious landing on the last stronghold of the Communists, landing and massacring the enemy forces. Blood Blacks, as they became called, were set apart from Loyalist Blacks and Afrikaaners in the population in a half-Apartheid situation. The Bloods form the BLA.
1940 - Gerhard Dies on August 14th. A national holiday is declared. For the first time in history, a non-Schroeder leads Schroeder Corp. His name is Alvin Retekker. Retekker begins reforms in the Corporation splitting it into the branches that stand today. The Council of Executives is formed and the populace, aside from the Bloods, enjoy many new freedoms.
1942 - Second Agnolian Incursion. The newly declared Schroeder Defense Industries PMC's secretly move into Agnolia and meet with UNITA forces who have prepared an assassination of the Agnolian leader, Wyclef Simmons. Simmons is barely holding the nation together as it is, and his death was to bring about a total anarchist movement in the nation.
1943 - Simmons is assassinated. Warlords from around the country scramble for power while the PMCs and UNITA make an assault on the Capital. It is taken, and the area is shut down.
1943 to 1944 - Second War of the Mercenaries.
1944 - After suffering a massive defeat at the hands of various warlords, UNITA pulls back to the capital. With their capture imminent, UNITA and PMC forces begin to set charges in the buildings of the city as well as prepare five massive chemical bombs to go off once several UNITA suicide bombers set the fuse. With the city in tatters after the demolition, PMCs and UNITA orces pull out. Warlord forces move in and as planned, the five suicide bombers do their work. Five large chemical weapon delivery systems are blown, spreading deadly Sulfur Mustards and Diphosgene all over the city. Massive casualties are inflicted.
1945 to Present - The Second Agnolian Civil War. With Simmons dead, the warlords battle for control. Three major factions control the country to this day, excluding UNITA.
1950 to 2010 - The energy renewal project, the major foundation of the modern state, will change the Waldenburg Empire over to entirely renewable energy. Already Iceland is entirely green. Estimated end of the project in 2010.

The climate of the world begins to change. An ominous shadow is cast upon the world due to climate change and the soon-to-be shifts of power as nations take on a more international role. An increase in worldwide tensions as well as violence leads to an age of uncertainty and doubt as to what might happen...
