Insurgent Trouble((Follow On From "Lost At Sea"))

In the town of shanville the streets were silent, not because everyone was asleep or that is was a ghost town, it was because the people had either fled or been killed by Insurgents.

Around the time of a few great nations retaking the Colomba back from the clutches of darkness, Insurgents saw an opportunity to start a call to arms and start their own territory within Payian land. Armed heavily and equipped to deal with resistance the insurgents stormed into the large town of shanville spreading propaganda and offering treasure to people who joined them. The numbers turned from a few hundred into a thousand and kept growing, even with armed police trying to fight of the insurgents it turned into a bloodbath as the police were cornered and filled with bullets.

Once rid of all resisitance they began to fortify the town ready for an assault at any moment, the insurgents established a small power plant, expecting the Payalian government to cut off electricity to the city. Along with several broadcasting stations, all news, cartoons would be to costly and difficult to make, except for several hundred re-runs that had been brought with the insurgents.

With the news of these invasion of Payian soil, the military went into fully alert and moved towards the city from all sides trapping them in the city givin them no hope of retreat. This didnt stop the insurgents just made them tighten the noose around the cities defenses.

The insurgents were outnumbered... horribly. They knew that this was going to be a lost cause, if they didn't think of something quickly. So sadly, they were forced to begin laying Un-conventional warfare, praying that it'd be able to hold back the division long enough to secure the town square, and a hundred hostages.

The hostages were rounded up by truck and taken to the town square, set up so that if the armoured division moved and inch further they'd all die. The insurgents weren't heartless men, so they chose only men, between the ages of thirty-forty, asking if they had any families, and none of them had children.

As the last of the IED's had been set up the insurgents fell back to the town square, clearing it anyone who has not a hostage, except the mayor, whom would be executed along the hostages.

Capt. Hasi, head of the South Thasland Naval forces, leaned on the side of his boat. He had just finished escorting the "Colomba", the Payan ship that had been taken over by insurgents, back to the docks. Now the insurgents were trapped, and South Thasland had dedicated more troops to the cause. Hasi couldn't wait to begin. His thoughts were interrupted by a radioman, who popped his head from the pelow decks of the patrol boat.

"Sir! News from Central Command. It appears that there's a hostage situation in the city."
Hasi groaned. Just what he needed. Hostages. Nothing better for a damages lawsuit than a human shield.
"Don't they realize it's a hopeless cause?" Hasi muttered to himself. The radioman, eager to help, thought Hasi was talking to him.
"Well, sir, I expect they want human shields, sir." Hasi rolled his eyes, still facing towards the sea.
"Where are they being held?"
"Town square, sir."
"Very well. I think we just git a new objective, sailor."
The radiomen nodded vigerously. "Yessir, sir"
Hasi stifled a laugh at the radioman's eagerness, and managed to keep his face straight.
"Keep monitering the situation, sailor."
"Yessir, captain!"
Once the radioman was gone, Hasi's grin faded. A hostage situation. Damn.

As the town was surrounded on all sides, no sounds where heard apart from the broadcast from the Payian HQ

"Insurgents, this is not your land to take, we have paid the price of blood here too have this land ours.

He offer you the choice of surrender"

......

Insurgents sent back "Move any closer and we kill them all"

The Officer over the broadcast tone changed

"If you murder them, we will murder you with no mercy towards you. We Payians believe in an eye for an eye so if you believe that you can use hostages against us then you will pay the price if you harm them."
