Which do you think will win? I am voting for Doomingsland since they are a trade partner of ours.

OOC: Why did you create this thread? And further, why does it matter? No offense, but do we really need a whole thread? As for who will win, I vote stalemate.

I, however, want Doom to win, both Icly and OOCly

I must also add that I am enjoying the read, they are both unbelievably good authors.

I think Doom will probably win, he has a load of territory, he's fighting on his own turf, and he seems to have very detailed tactical knowledge. On top of it, AMF uses a lot of RL weapons, the Abrams is a mainstay of his forces, whereas Doom uses well-designed NS-grade weaponry and vehicles. However, AMF seems to be phasing them out, as am I.

ICly, however, my government would hope AMF wins, because of the slavery angle, the human rights situation in Doomingsland being far worse than that of AMF, and the fear that Doomingsland will think itself invincible and go on an imperialistic rampage.

I haven't been in the recent loop of all the stuff going on within the Doomingsland nation, however, if you give me a URL, I would much like that. As for Automagfreek, they are a nation of the Gholgoth, which from what little I know is a proud warrior people. For that I respect them, but I know little else about their technology. As for Doomingsland, they make very dependable weaponry that my troops gladdly accept into the inventory. Their DR- 83's are a most generous trade they have given us, along with domestic production rights. For that, I will stand by them.

AMF uses RL equipment

I gotta read more of that thread.

Anyways from what I know I can't see any massive victories in this war. Either a stalemate or one side wins but only by a small margin. Though with all the enemies Doomingland has made if he is weakened too far by this he may be left open to attack by other foreigners..

No, I phased out real life equipment awhile ago.

I vote AMF. True, Doom's guys are formidable with the whole Romanesque deal they've got going; not to mention their l33t guns and all. However, doctrine and experience are what win wars, as well as alliances; and in those areas the Freeks have decided advantages to my observation, ICly speaking, even if both are awesome RPers OOCly. The Freeks have simply been fighting too many for too long, and nigh-always to a favorable conclusion.

Also, the slavery angle here will be crucial in the strategic term as far as diplomacy goes. AMF has crushed so many slavers in its day that it's a hobby by now IIRC, and Doom's actions in Kahanistan aren't going to make many sympathize with him who don't already. True, AMF's deeds in British Londinium do somewhat weaken his IC credibility, but now that Gholgoth is rebuilding its latest conquest the damage can be controlled. Allanea dropping out has also evened the odds a bit, but overall the Imperium Doomanum isn't terribly liked by too many overall right now aside from a dedicated few; and that might matter in time once the Freeks press deeper into Doomani holdings and the international perception of Doomani strength weakens accordingly...

Too many people are concerned with winning and losing these days. Can't you just be happy with reading the great RP? Who cares who wins? They're both maniacs!

It'll probably go on so long they'll both die first.

Oh I am enjoying their excellent skill at RPing two nigh equally-sociopathic despotisms.;) However, if Doom wins then ICly my country's going to have some problems, since our antislavery policy's going to take quite a hit. And one of my alliances in particular (UFAN) is wedded to the antislavery cause, so any substantial Doomani victory would be pure IC trouble for us; even if not necessarily fatal right off all the same. Besides which, my ally Vetaka has great relations with AMF AFAIK so that's bound to have some influence on my IC preferences even if there were no war on.

But yes, I agree that way too much of a Coach Sanders/Coach Lombardi style attitude is seeping into RP lately. That's why I try to be on good (or at least fair) OOC terms with all those I'm either RPing against or likely to, that way even if I lose I know there's nothing personal about any occupation brutalities or such. Plus, 'a little TGing goes a long way' would be my advice to fix the problem, that way rules of engagment not only stay clear but also stay dynamic as the RP changes over its course. I think that's a key part of the broader issue IMO, since most of the problem threads I've seen (and been in...) are/were marked by extreme inflexibility on the part of some players, OOCly as well as ICly; which isn't cool since not only does it poison OOC player/player relations but it also makes nations unrealistically determined ICly, amounting to almost a sort of diplomatic godmod come to think...

Doom, we need to have a talk. I've queried you in IRC about finishing this war several times, but it's still been a month since I last posted.

I think it's time we retcon this war, because at this rate it's never going to be finished. I can understand if you've lost interest, because I've noticed you posting regularly in the Haven war fighting against Kahanistan and in other threads. This is holding me back from things I would like to do, and in order to be fair to everyone, I think we should OOCly end this war. I don't want to be held up for another couple of months.

I'm sorry, and this is nothing personal in the slightest.
