General Lawrence walked into the briefing room, below the podium were the recent recruits, fresh out of their re-training.
'Ladys and gentlemen," He said, clearing his throat. "You are the final product of our extensive training program, many went in, most washed out." Below, total silence had insued, at least they could listen. "very well then let me proceed." He picked up a small remote and pushed the button in the center, a holographic satalite map appeared in the center of the room. "This is Clarkstown, Burmington, a small town in a small country. Mainly rural faring areas, this townis no diffrent then the rest. As of last night, an outbreak was reported, today its gone from minor to full blown. According to the reports, most, if not all, of thepopulation of this town has been reanimated, butlucky for you, the total population is only approximatly 130 citizens." He clicked the remote again and the map dissapeared. "grab your gear and move out, this is a real mission with real undead, not like the simulations. Nothing will prepare you for this."

Edward frowned as he stepped towards the RT-70 transport. He was still boiling over from his demotion. What was wrose is that it uncovered painful memries from his past, something he had long tried to hide from..... He grabbed his gear and stepped into the troop bay, the smooth cold steel chilling his body. Around him the other members of his team slid in. He checked his rifle and slid on a scope, he felt sorry that Saya was the only sniper.

LFC Michael, Mick as he'd come to be called by his squadmates, walked with the group to the transport. He was one of the Dominion Black Ops' best and brightest...and hadn't even seen the famed Colonel James Talbitt or his elite squad of infiltrators. Instead, he'd been shipped off to a foreign nation right out of boot camp to combat a threat he'd only known existed in movies. One thing was for sure, the creatures in the training videos most definitely were not actors with makeup.
"Hey guys," he asked casually but with a hint of nervousness,"Am I the only one here who's never acutally, you know, fought one of things?"
He checked his rifle then his pistol as he strapped in, then made sure all of his spare magazines were secure.

LFC.John Macked walked over to the recruit from Ambrose-Douglas and shook his hand and said "Hi, I am John Macked from the Calizorinstan Special Operation's Command, I've been in a lot of spec op's raid's, be it from, miitant leader assasination's, to militant supply line raid's, you name it. I picked the CAR-15 semi-auto because I think 9mm should stop zombie's if not, here's my second option and he pulled out the Smith and Wesson gun and said "Remember Dirty Harry, this is the same gun Inspector Callahan used, except it's in .45 cal." He smiled, but looked worried, he hoped his 15 years in the Marine's, and 8 year's in the CSOCOM would help him with this new far more dangerous foe.

Sighing slightly, Alan swung his feet down from the chair in front of him and unlaced his fingers from behind his head. This mission sounded like a piece of cake.

Walking into the dressing room, he grabbed the upper half of his BDUs and pulled them on. The BDU pants were already on, complete with knee pads underneath. He zipped up the front and adjusted the armor, smiling slightly. Grabbing his bandoleer of cigarettes, he pulled that over one shoulder, then grabbed another bandoleer which had his shotgun and rifle ammo and slung that over top, with his shotgun on his back. Next went the pistols, one low on each thigh, then a knife in the boot and one on the hip. Deposit the Zippo lighters in a few pockets and he was ready to go. Grabbing his helmet and his SM-24, he looked over everyone else.

"Who's ready to kill some zombies?" He asked, smiling and pulling out a cig and letting it hang from his mouth.

Another recruit came over and shook his hand, and Alan did the same back. "Alan Harland. Ambrose-Douglas Spec Ops." He didn't say or do much else, except think that this kid spoke way too much for his own good.

Saya checked her equipment as she marched out of the breifing room, making sure she had plenty of ammo, that her scope was in good condition, the whole nine yards. She mentaly reviewed the map in her head, wondering if she'd be able to find a good sniping spot out there. Well, if worse came to worst, she could always find a roof. She also tried to get herself together, her eyes were a bright hazel, and she sure as hell was'nt happy. 'Come on, this is what you've been training for, remember Dad' She told herself. She shook her head and sighed, it just did'nt work, she also remembered the zombies. 'Ah well, she thought, 'At least I'm a sniper'

Edarwd looked over at him. "Never seen one either." "Join the club." Chuckled the pilot, " we've got to wait for a bit, we're getting a late arriver." Still in the transport, they waited for each member to arrive. The pilot came back and casually asked Alan for a cigarette. He handed him one, and more cigarrete smoke filled the cabin.

Saya looked around at all of her teammates. They looked kind of scary. Espeicialy the one with the cigarette. But that was probably just the smoke curling around his head. Again she was reminded that all of these people had years of experience, she was just a raw recruit. She wondered why she was the only girl... 'I wonder what the others think' She thought. She was struck with a sudden idea, 'I certainly hope, oh no' With that thought she abruptly began to blush.

General Lawrence stepped out from the hangar and approached the transport. The pilots cig dropped out of his mouth and snapped a slaute, as did everyone else in the sqaud. What they noticied was he was wearing an aged uniform with new armour attaachments. "Everyone, I've decided to come with you, Imay be old at 54, but I'm still as spry as when I was in my hey-day." Everybody moved to make room forhim and murmur of conversation arose in the transport. General Lawrnece simply smiled and spun the chamber of his magnum.

Dang, didn't see that coming Mick though to himself. The thought of the Dominion Intelligence Minister in full body armor killing zombies come to his mind and he to cough to hide the laughter.

He then overheard John and Alan's conversation.
"Hey man, don't sweat it same here. I could clear a room full of terrorists without hitting a single hostage, but nothing like this. Oh well, here goes nothin' right?"
He racked a round into his rifle and double checked the safety.

Alan looked around at the others to make the General was serious. He noticed the pilot's cig had fallen out of his mouth... too bad, he wasn't really in the habit of sharing. He noticed that Saya girl looking at him, the sniper. He shook his head again, women.

Sitting against the side of the plane, he pulled over a crate of something, propped his feet up, put his hands behind his head, took a deep drag of his cigarette and closed his eyes.

"Right, John, I got it. You're nervous." Alan said, his eyes still closed. Reaching into his bandoleer, he grabbed another cig. "Smoke it, it'll calm you down."

The Pilot got up frim the edge of the troop bay. "Time to get moving out." He said. Everybody clambored into the transport as it taxied down the runway. He leaned back and tod the squad, "Be advised, i'm gonna take you down low, about twenty feet up. When I give you the greenlight, everybody jumps, no parachutes!" Everyone looked at him like he was insane. The pilot continued talking, "Its so that way you won't have a large collection of zombies around you! I'll try to ditch you guys over a lake, so don't worry about impact, just secure a life vest!" Everyone reached under the seat and pulled out a vest. Edward grinned, he enjoyed doing dnagerous things.

James gripped his modified Mk.19 assault rifle right after the pilot announced his plan to drop the group into a lake.

"Nice", he mumbled more to himself then to anyone around him and reached in one of the many Pockets on his BDU and pulled a litte olive bag out. This bag contained some things James deemed absolutely necessary for survining in the wildness without sufficient supply - and there was never enough supply, especially for Special Forces. He took a clear plastic bag out of the bag and fastened it over the barrel of his assault rifle.

He looked to the other soldiers, one of them who did the same . "Nice idea, buddy. Better to play safe with these rifles."

While speaking, he reached under his seat and pulled on the life vest which was stored there.
He looked to the woman who looked as much irritated over the jump plan as James himself. James knew nothing appropriate to say,so he just smiled assuringly for a second and then concentrated on the preparation of the jump.

After the jump in the lake, he swam out of it with his fellow soldiers and proceeded to secure the beach.

His headset made a cracking sound as it came to life and transmitted a message: "This is Talon 1, repeat Talon 1, everyone still in one piece?"

Routinely, James answered: "Talon 1, here Blue-2. All positive. No contact."

He looked around for the general who was pointing his gun at the head of the irritated woman from the plan. James walked towards them, keeping his head as low as possible.

"Sir, what's wrong here?", he asked.

It was routine procedure for Tunksten soldiers to take care of the health of persons in higher ranks because they almost certain recieved better training and where more important to the mission. That a person holding a general's rank was running in serious trouble confused James profundly.

I guess I'll have to be the one who stays calm
He took a deep breath, which oddly enough did calm him down somewhat.

The squad gathered around the general who gave orders about the precise mission. James nodded. "Positive, Sir!", he replied and looked to the other soldiers. "Maybe we should form fireteams to maximize our searching results. Squad radio should be sufficent to communicate", he whispered his suggestion. "Maybe Harland and I should stay with you, Sir."

"You know, the only real advantage these guys have is numbers isn't it? I mean, we have the intelligence, the guns, and the speed. If we keep cool this should be a piece of cake right?", Mick Hawkins whispered over the radio.

"Ne'r underestimate the en'my. But mainly, you're right.", he smiled and proceeded to sneak down the street. "No noise. Not even moaning.", he thought. "Creepy. As before a thunderstorm..:"

The squad provided suppresive fire until the zombies were exterminated. They climed over the barricades and into the open are where the survivors were. An immediate change came into the generals eyes. The survivors are a man, a woman and a young girl, presumebly the daughter. Immediatly he flashed back to that day.....

Thirty years ago....
Captain Lawrence grinned and shaded his eyes, it was a beautiful day and he had just recived a promotion. He had been stationed in Aliston for about two months, and he couldn't wait to tell his wife the good news. His car pulled into the rough driveway of his home, he got out and slammed the door. Everything around seemed earily quiet. He looked around, trying to discern what made alarm bells ring in his head and then looked up at his home. He hadn't noticed it before, but the front door was slightly ajar, he drew his barreta and enetered his house. Even the house was earily quiet. Upstairs, muffled noises emmenated from one of the bedrroms. He clicked off the safety catch and slowly walekd up the stairs. All of the doors looked like they had been ripped off their hinges. The closest door was the door to his daughters bedroom. Throwing catuion to the wind, he dashed in. What he saw horrified him. Blood splattered the walls, and a man was bent over the mangled corpse of his daughter. He kicked him off her and looked at his daughter, she was dead, eaten appearently. The....thing, for he was convinced it was not a man, grabbed his shoe and pulled its mouth towards his foot. His combat instincts, honed in years of war, automatically aimed the pistol at its head and fired. It fell, silent and un moving. He heard crashing from his wifes room and turned, only to be smacked by his wife. But it wasn't, at least, not any more. She was covered in blood and bite marks, and was now reaching for his gun arm. His eyes filled with tears, and he knocked her to the floor, chect racked with sobs. He took careful aim, whispered "I'm sorry" and pulled the trigger.

Emma stood in a muddy field, looking around. She was a little disoriented. After the drop, she'd been seperated from the rest of the team by a sudden current. She had to sling both of her longarms, barrels-down, to let them dry before firing them. Luckily, her pockets were water-proofed, so the M-14 and GLOCK magazines were still okay, although her 12-guage shells were ruined.

Her GLOCK was dry, however. Emma hefted it a little, and started walking, towards the village were she'd heard gunshots earlier. It was possible that the team was there, but she couldn't be sure. Her radio was useless, shorted out by the plunge into water. Emma just hoped they wouldn't shoot her on reflex when she showed up at the edge of the village.

James looked into the eyes of the general and immediately recognised the state of mind he was in. He has seen it far too often in the eyes of other veterans. The general was having a flashback.

James decided not to draw general attention to this in order to foster squad moral and the belief in the general.

James look down to the young girl of the survivors who was quite shaken by the things she must have witnessed. He kneeled down and opened a bag where he stored a opened standard ration of the Tunksten military, because he knew that there would be a candy bar, which he gave to the girl.

Edward loved it, the thrill of being able to kill without reprocussions. He emptied ever single shot with pin point precision, taking down several of his attackers. He reloaded, and fifteen more shots lashed out at the group of zombies shambling towards them. But something was happening, the zombies were shuddering. Things were ripping out of there hands, their elbows were getting bent at odd angles, and, most frightening, they started to speed up.

Emma got to the village and jogged to the nearest house. As she made the run, a bullet landed near her, and she crouched for a second, then kept moving towards the building. She looked around a bit, making sure the area was as clear as possible. After the sweep, she eased open the front door, pistol at the ready. Sure enough, there was a zombie in the room. As the zombie stood and began to shuffle towards her, she quickly moved in, closed the door, and took careful aim at the zombie's brain case.

Emma inhaled and pulled the trigger. The shot was deafening in the closed environment, and the zombie paused for a second, looking shocked despite its loss of humanity and emotion. Then, it sank to the floor, and Emma swept the lower floor of the house, before moving to the second level. Again, she made sure all the rooms were clear, and clambered onto the roof of the building from one of the windows. She'd heard gunshots and a grenade explosion, and looked for the source of them. Emma pulled out the 10X scope she kept for her rifle, and scanned the town... and eventually found the source. A couple of trigger-happy members of the team, unloading rounds into already neutralized zombies. She also so Saya, who was scoping her back. Emma grinned and waved.

Sighing, she stood at the peak of the roof, pulled a signal flare out of her back, and lit it, hoping the incoming helicopter would see it and give her a lift towards friendly forces; there were to many zombies between them and her to make it on foot.
