It's time for the elections of the Prime Minister. With several candidates up for election and one up for re-election.
Candidate 1: Incumbent Prime Minister Maricruze Rodriguze
Age: 26
Party:Partido liberal nacional (National Liberal Party)
Platform:
Much of her platfrom remains the same from her previous years of service. However some new issues facing her is the question of the direction of the country. Maricruze is looking more liberal with the nation to further the intrest of lazzie-faire democracy. She feels GTI has been long to opressed and the people need a more free society.
Abortion: Legalize abortion under circumstance. (Rape, and Incest, and Health)
Drugs: Legalize easy drugs such as Marijuana but keep the harsher stuff outlawed. Reduce tarrifs on tobbaco. Strict punishments for thoes that that cause harm of overdosing or working on "harder" stuff.
Economy: Belives strongly in a free and strong economy. Not fully for extreme free market (Buyer Beware Policey) but reduce the tax on domestic business and reduce tarrifs on foreing business. Privatize whatever possible to save money.
Military: Build a strong defense force, interventionist where it benefits and works.
Enviroment: Maricruze doesn't belive all the "facts" regarding Global Warming. She isn't ready to write it off as a complete myth but feels there is simply not enough information and there is a panic about everything, and too much hysteria is brewing. Still she feels there is a good need to keep the land, water and air clean. Pro-Alternative fules and clean running cars. Place limits on deforesting, and keep plenty of farmland. Will look into inqureys to see if Uranium mining could be hurting the economy.
Gay Marriage: Fully legalize it. At present state the country has only legalized civil uninons. Allow gay couples to adopt children.
Remove Mandatory Certification of Films
Civil Privladges:
Make sure people have the right to freely practice and express religion. Belives the Government should not get invovled
Relax Public Nudity Laws
Candidate #2: Speaker of the House of Democracy Alberto Rivera
Age: 57
Party: Partido conservador (Conservative Party)
Platform: Belives in Democracy but belives more in a centralized one, that values bringing family ideals into light.
Abortion: Circumstance only
Drugs: Contiune the prohibition of all hard drugs including Gateway drugs, but allow tobbacco and alcholic beverages. Mandate that all bars have a cut-off limit to prevent intoxicated driving.
Economy: Improve the economy further by encouraging smaller business and domestic business. Increase Trade from other nations
Military: Reduce military numbers to a reasonable size for protection. Stay out of the affairs of other countries.
Enviroment: Take Global Warming seriously. Findways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the consuption of natural resources. End Uranium Mining and preserve the forests. Feel the land is over farmed and wants to reduce the ammount of farming and go more for GMO's as a cost effective method.
Gay Marriage: Keep illegal, civil uninons only. Do not allow adoption for gay couples.
Reforme the Prision System, pro-rehabilitation

Age: 65
Party: Partido católico de Tradtions (Catholic Traditons Party)
Platform: Strong conservative and religious values.
Abortion: Complete outlaw of abortion.
Drugs: Outlaw all drugs except for fine wine fresh from the grape
Economy: Start up a social welfare program, and establish more social justice
Increase Taxes to socialize the nation
Military: Reduce Military size to civil defense force.
Enviroment: Belives Global Warming is a myth of the media. However is all for clean air and water. Stop uranium mining and other forms of mining.
Gay Marriage: Outlaw altogether
No public nudity.

Party:Partido do avanço dos Lesbiana (Party for the Advancement of Lesbians)
Platform: Has no strong desire to change the current state of law unless request by the people, other than fully legalize gay marriage, and public nudity, with a one day madatation of it. Strongly liberal, desires to adopt the Maraquen policey of Religion: specifically grants the populous the freedom to practice any religion they see fit. Even so, only 10% of the population officially subscribes to a religion of any kind. Additionally, it is illegal to publicly display religious symbols or texts, which include a cross in the form of jewelry, clothing in the form of a burqa or turban, and scripture such as the ten commandments.
