Constitutional Matriarchy of Reloria
"For a brighter tomorrow."

Greetings to the illustrious leaders of the world, from the humble Relorian Matriarchy.

Today is the Day of Vitality in Reloria. This day commemorates the arrival of summer here, and it is a celebration of life, love, health, pleasure, peace, friendship, and the beauty of nature and all of the Goddess' creations which reside within it. It is on this day that grand festivals are held in the streets and outdoor parties are organised across the country, allowing people to bask in the summer weather and enjoy themselves all day, spending time with their loved ones and setting aside old quarrels. Even the government participates, with large charity donations and an annual increase in welfare spending. Though originally a religious event, it has meaning for everybody here regardless of their faith.

Presumably by now you are wondering why I am telling you all of this, and why I have not yet hung up my jacket and let loose my hair to join in the festivities? Well the answer is fairly simple, and possibly naive, but I hope for something good to come of it somewhere at the very least.

I am making a plea to the governments of the world to do something to commemorate the occasion with us - even though you perhaps do not share our religious or cultural beliefs, I believe the core values of this day have meaning for all people. You do not have to do anything extravagant or particularly expensive, just something that will improve the lives of your citizens, if only for a day. Silence the guns of war for a day. Increase welfare spending a little. Donate some money to a well-intentioned charity. Call up an old enemy and try to smooth things over, or sue for peace with an existing enemy. Give your citizens a day off work! Anything you can think of which will help make the day more pleasant for everyone, simply put.

I would very much like for people to be able to call this day, recognised as June 1st on international calendars, International Goodwill Day - a day when everybody around the world can expect a little good news, no matter their circumstances. As I mused earlier, perhaps it is a naive sentiment. But I do not think it is too much of a stretch, do you?

Thank you for your time, and I hope that you consider my words. And by all means, our festivities are open to all who wish to enjoy them.

And why exactly are we not surprised by this? In tune with Matriarch Zelella's wishes for this day I shall not issue threats or such your way, Strator; for I do believe that I am the bigger man here. Suffice it to say, you are indeed lucky it is the Day of Vitality for those of the Naalist faith, for whom I have the utmost respect even if none beside those in our Relorian Embassy happen to reside here as yet. I advise you not to abuse such luck, in the spirit Her Majesty intends; as an old enemy who would like to be your friend if only you could make such possible for me.

That said, although I cannot silence the guns today since our good friends in Vetaka still fight against the imperialists trying to destroy all they've accomplished in their few years of independence, and we yet battle to aid them against such traitors to both Peace and Freedom, I can say that I am most open to the idea of an International Goodwill Day which my workers could count as a holiday. Other measures are more complex and will take more time, but I have already issued a limited-term decree to the effect for this year pending a more permanent measure's ratification by our National People's Congress. I expect it to pass, it being an innocuous measure even if of great import, and not half so divisive as the usual sort of matters they deal with such as military appropriations or economic regulation versus deregulation.

I sincerely and humbly thank Her Majesty for this idea, since it is indeed sorely needed in this particularly violent time of late. If you have any other ideas, such as a state visit or anything else, we would be happy to make the arrangments once our local situation is calmer; Vetaka being within our region now since they emigrated from Haven. We're open to any ideas, and will discuss them as needed.

I am not surprised at the totally uncalled for action of Strator like our Wagdog Allies we will not issue threats or insults towards Strator as he is not worth and we are indeed the Bigger Men here. While Vetaka currently engages in a war to protect the very Freedom, Peace and Lifeforce of Vetaka against those whom wish to destroy it we are always wishing for peace both in Vetaka and around the world.

Although at this time I cannot order the cease fire of the Vetakan Defence Forces June the 1st from now on will be known as "International Good Will Day" and furthermore the Vetakan Government intends to donate $1 Billion USD of the national budget to various Charities every June 1st.

Would the Constitutional Matriarchy of Reloria be intrested in Jointly hosting a "International Goodwill Event" Vetakan Foreign Affairs before the Rebellion was planning to launch a Worldwide Concert and Peace Festival similar to that of Live Aid. Furthemore Vetaka would like to extend an arm of invitation to the Consitutional Matriarchy to undertake a State Visit perhaps when the Rebellion is over and peace is once again restored to Vetaka?

Open Declaration:

It is a sad day to say on this proposed International Day of Goodwill that there is so much evil still left. Sovereign League and other allied forces at this moment in time are resisting Freekish and Gholgoth imperialism as they try and force another sovereign nation under their fascist belt. British Londinium was attacked without reason, it was just a blatant land grab in which Gholgoth wanted to spread its wings and quench its thirst for blood. Already thousands of Londinium citizens have been slain, killed by the brutal weapons and tactics that is all too well by the Freekish armed forces.

There will never be goodwill in this world with the likes of Gholgoth, the Soviets and other undesirables. The defence of liberal democracy and capitalism will never be exhausted providing there is still an atmosphere to fly in, a ground to fight on and an ocean to sail on. It a sad day to say I can't authorise our troops unlike that of Vetaka to ceasefire, for the brave men and women of the His Majesty's armed forces continue the fight across the world against those forces who wish only evil and suffering to remain.

Naestoria believes that goodwill towards its citizens and the nations of the world is a duty that should not require reminders. We strive to be kind to our people and those of the outside world on every day, and thus do not believe that a special day should be set aside for this sole purpose -- that implies that on the other three hundred and sixty-four the welfare of national and global citizens is to be disregarded.

Sadly, it seems the rest of the world does not share our views, so we agree that a holiday such as this may be necessary. I point at the statements of Clandonia Prime and Strator on this topic as examples; the one issued its standard anti-"everything Sovereign League" statement, and the second its standard "LOOK AT ME, I'M VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS" statement. Nonetheless, we hope that at least a few of the nations of the world may decide to show sense.

The ideals of peace, unity, and mercy are ones that resonated with me throughout my entire life. When I became Prime Minister of British Londinium, it was my hope, my desire, my yearning to bring those ideals to my war-torn nation. But that has yet to come to fruition. The dogs of war continue to gnaw at the bones of my country, having stripped us bare of flesh, of muscle, of vitality, and of life. The People's Sovereign Republic is a desolate wasteland. Khrushchev's statement of "the living will envy the dead" has come true in British Londinium.

So I ask the world, I ask all those who would celebrate International Goodwill Day to assist the PSR in regaining its sovereignty and liberty from the tyrannical clutches of Automagfreek.

Greetings Ms. Rocca,

I am so happy to hear from you again. It has been a long time since we've last spoken - I believe it was at the ceremony at your residence some years ago? - anyway, I am pleased to hear from you, and am also very pleased at this proposal you have suggested.

The Democratic Elective Monarchy of Maraque usually has a day like this on every March 21st through April 21st. For that month we eliminate the sales taxes on every single item in the country. We feel this is enough in our affluent society where even the poorest of poor live like middle-class Americans. Of course, there are always those who are financially in trouble, but our welfare system covers most with a yearly paycheck of $16,000, which is usually more than enough to help them through their plight.

Also during this period citizens have a three-day weekend, as opposed to a two-day. This allows people to spend more time with their families, have barbecues, and do other leisurely activities. Our citizens mostly work in high stress inducing environments where their needs are put to the max, and we think this extra day of rest would do them some good.

Then on this month, I also pardon all of the lowest level criminals in our prison system, which only has 6,000 people in it to begin with. I believe our lowest level of criminals, despite being criminals, are humans and therefore deserve a second chance at living a life outside of a rotten concrete jail cell. I have had criminals come to me crying for joy as I pardon them... it truly is a beautiful experience.

Then lastly, we donate $500 billion during this period to international charities across the globe, mostly to civil rights groups, and others helping people in their most troubling of times. Our citizens are most fortunate to live in this country, and they too, do their part, donating in total $100 billion to international charities this year.

I wholly endorse International Goodwill Day, and have declared it a National Holiday in the Democratic Elective Monarchy. I think the core values are a great lesson to the world, where wars, poverty, and strife are running rampant. I feel bad for the estimated 225 trillion citizens of the globe who have to see such terror and inconsiderable sadness upon their television sets every night on the evening news. Isn't it about time we talk about things that are important? Maybe uplifting? This world is full of sadness, and no amount of happiness seems to heal the wounds we've put upon this Earth against our own.

Mask your threats however you may, the 5000 who dared do wrong beneath my all-seeing eye are deceased, their bodies left to rot after they were led like sheep to their deaths. Indeed their last moments in this world were of pain and suffering, they were gassed and at the same time, thousands of volts coursed through the air, which just so happened to be filled with traces of methane. I assure you, their bodies are charred beyond any possible recognition. I shall give them all a lovely funeral, their bodies shall be compilled so that they may be preserved until my next war. I expected little from this idea, and it is sorrowing to see that my expectations have been met. Of all the hundreds of countries in this world, only a tiny fraction of them have vocally committed to help improve the lives of their citizens just once a year. Perhaps it was a lot to ask, but I do not believe this to be so, and this day is hardly the time to vocalise political disputes or clichéd attempts to be 'evil'.

At any rate it is warming to see at least some measure of goodwill in this world, from those who still have some compassion even after living in such a violent world for so long. To our friends in Wagdog, Vetaka and Maraque, your respective efforts are more than could have been hoped for and I am certain that the people who benefit from them will be appropriately appreciative. It is good to see you embrace the occasion so wholly and I thank you for that. Carolinus Horridus and Scarlet Rogers, you both suggested a state visit or international occasion of some kind, and this government would be glad to be a party to such an occasion, if not now then at some point in the future. Although the 1st of June is the Day of Vitality, our celebrations continue for several days afterwards, so this government will be on leave for that time - you are free to visit, as are all who bear the values of this time in their hearts.

We're honored to have helped, Matriarch, and feel that a visit to Mukasus soon would be in order. Our Vetakan friends have already hinted at a state visit to our capital of Tailville DR just as soon as their imperialist rebellion is subdued, and I for one see no reason why that event can't be shortened and then combined with a joint trip by myself and Vetakan President Scarlet Rogers to Mukasus thereafter. My husband would remain at home, tending to affairs of State of course, and Vetaka would be in safe hands that I am not at liberty to disclose except in that they are most capable and trustworthy indeed. Whatever arrangements are at your convenience, Matriarch, simply ask and they shall be made forthwith.

As for those attempting to defame this day, we share in your disappointment Matriarch. Suffice it to say, they shall fail. Our legislature is about to bring the measure establishing International Goodwill Day to the floor, and I expect it to pass easily. Hence, those provocateurs can simply listen to our jubilation, for it is the sound of their defeat. We also welcome Flamnation to the global family, and offer them an embassy in our nation should they desire one. It is good that they are already aiding their regional neighbors so, and if they require assistance from us we are open for the asking.
