Official Announcement of the Department of Education
As part of the aftermath of the Doomani-Allanean war, we are proud to announce that Congress has approved overwhelmingly the issuing of the Congressional Medal of Honor to Senior Wing Scout Priscilla Conde (17) and the Executive branch has awarded the Liberty Star, First Class, to Nina Smith (16.5).
Priscilla Conde participated in the Wing Scout and Air Force combined aerial attack on the Aswan dam. According to witness statements and onboard records, it was a torpedo launched from her A1 Skyraider (Wing number 456B) that had first impacted a key point on the Dam, causing a catastrophic collapse, the death of millions of Doomani military personnel, and the destruction of several Doomani airbases and the entire economy of Province Aegypt. She is the youngest Allanean to ever carry out a strategic bombing mission.
Nina Smith, acting as part of the Wing Scout Operation Mallet, has delivered the torpedo that has sunk a Whyatican aircraft carrier at the beginning of the war, and is the youngest Allanean to ever cause a carrier kill.
Due to minimal losses (no aircraft were lost in the raid on the Aswan Dam, for example), the Department of Education considers the first, experimental use of Wing Scouts in the war a great success. However in the future they will be relegated almost completely to education of future pilots.
