The Khyzerian Civil War RP Idea

Khyzeria

This is my new RP idea, as I've decided to scrap the Elizabeth Plot.
-------------------
In 1978, the National Party takes control of Khyzeria, forcing change. They control the Parliament, and their first act is the "Jonestown Act", which allows for the government to bypass freedom of conscience/assembly. This particular act was named for the Jonestown incident, which occured in 1978.

In later years, "Undesirables" are rounded up and sentenced to hard labor or execution (capital punishment is reserved for "the most undesirable"). Criminal laborers were described as "being like the Negro slaves of old".

While most people are content with the Government, some people dissent against the government. Now, with change looming in the air, can the reformers obtain a new Khyzeria, or will the Government defeat the reformers and maintain the status quo?
------------------------
I'm looking for other nations who can back up one of two sides:

-The Government (Dostanout Loj/Sumer, Zackaroth?)
-The Reformers (Tauh Rhian)

If you would like more information on things like the "Jonestown Act", the idea of "undesirables" or more information on Khyzeria under the N.P, just ask me.

Thank you for your time.

I am thinking of having the Imperial Family executed (like the Romanovs) in the RP.

I might send a few ships to observe the situation, it'll give me a chance to RP some sweet 70s tech too.

Well, actually I was thinking about just doing some flashbacks of the 70's.

Anyone interested in joining in? Just tell me who you will support.

So, around what year will this be taking place?
What constitutes an "undesierable"?
What exactly do the reformists want?

I might get involved.

-The present day, with flashbacks in 1978 and other years
-An "undesirable" is a pedophile, rapist, anyone who commits treason (just some examples)
-The Reformists want a return to the old constitutional monarchy (pre-1978). They dislike the way things are at the moment.

And if you do get involved, thanks.

I thinking of joining. I'm just figuring out who to support. On one hand the current goverment made a law bypassing the freedom of conscience/assembly which could lead to abuse. But on the other hand the undesireables are indeed undesireable and Zackaroth does the same thing with its prisoners. I'm sort of stuck on what to do.

-The "Jonestown Act" was made in response to the Jonestown Incident (Jim Jones) in 1978, in which the Government felt that if necessary, groups can be monitored by the government and be forcefully disbanded if needed. (Just some information on the law you mentioned)

I do hope you join this, as I am looking for some people to join so we can get this started.

That just made me lean on the rebel;s side a bit more but not enough to warrent action. I might just send a agent to live in the country and see how the place works first hand and report back.

Sure, I'm alright with that.

So what kind of backing are you looking for anyway?
I'm quite tempted to back the current government just for the sake of spiting a constitutional monarchy.

I'm looking for nations to back one of the two sides for a civil war, hence the name of the idea. And should I post your support for the current government?

I'm thinking i'll help the goverment, but for the moment only with aid since i am busy trying to throw down another goverment. Once that is ovber I'll be sure to send forces to help the goverment, unless they mess up or something.

Then should I post you supporting the government? Also, they could mess up or something, for one I am considering having them dispose of the Imperial Family (like the Romanovs).

If they kill the family for no reason then aid will still come in. Just expect it to come with bombs and dirty weapons XD

I might as well jump in. Am I to understand the current government is a one party Republic and the Reformers want to establish a constitutional monarchy?

On the one hand, I am a monarchy, though not a constitutional one. However, the oppressive totalitarianism of the current government seems to fall more in line with the ideology of my current ruler (he's no psychopath, but isn't afraid to restrict rights if it's in his best interest).

At this point I'm leaning more toward the current government, also due to the fact that my own government likes to crush insurrection of any kind because it keeps the people in check. However, if I side with the reformers it would make a more interesting RP because I could clash with the current government and its supporters...also enjoyed by my government.

I'll wait and see.

Actually, I've started the RP, and you may not like to know that the Emperor has been executed by beheading and that a rebel spy's report led to rebels asking other nations in a secret letter to aid them.

I am considering having the Imperial Family seek refuge in another nation or something of the sort. I thank you for your interest in my RP, and to clear up an issue, the current government overthrew the constitutional monarchy of old, the Reformers want it back.

Upon reading it I think I'll support the reformers. We monarchs watch each other's backs...sometimes.
