Breaking News -- Federal Police march on, interrupt Parliamentary session

CAELAPES CITY, CAE. (CSN) -- More than 200 officers and agents of the Federal Police Agency interrupted Parliament during session this Wednesday evening. According to sources within Parliament, the debate was regarding a proposed bill that would place certain restrictions upon domestic corporations.

Parliamentary officials have called the intrustion, "a rude, embarrassing, and infuriating act which borders on treason. That police would prevent democracy in this nation is, in my opinion, absolutely dreadful." Spokesmen for both the FPA and Prime Minister Michael Finch declined comment.

Armed police stood at the door to Parliament, two rows deep, each holding a G36 rifle. About fifty feet around them was an empty semicircle, with its perimeter held by officers in SWAT gear. Protesters and the press crowded around the police, pushing at the outer perimeter until one brash, college-aged protester broke through the SWAT line and ran for the doors.

All hell broke loose.

The armed police at the doors shouldered their rifles and fired. The protester fell limp. The SWAT team put on gas masks and began tossing tear gas canisters into the crowd. Police helicopters swooped down and shone their spotlights all around, assisting SWAT in discharging tear gas into the persistent crowd. As the crowd pushed towards Parliament, the police opened fire with their rifles. After a brief period, five police APCs drove up and surrounded the SWAT team, their barrels pointed menacingly at the now-retreating crowd.

"Four, three, two..." the cameraman held up one finger, then pointed to the anchor.

"Good evening, Caelapes. I am Erwin Miller with the ten o'clock State news, determined to bring you the most accurate news about the government. Our top story tonight, seventeen confirmed dead and another forty-three hospitalized following a brutal police takeover of Parliament earlier this evening. More than 200 officers of the Federal Police Agency, the largest law enforcement agency in the nation, stormed Parliament during session, interrupting the proceedings and harming unarmed protesters.

"Federal Police Chief Gary Saunders has come under fire from parliamentary officials and political rights activists following the attack. While spokesmen from the Prime Minister and FPA are still refusing comment at this time, Caelapes State News has learned that the topic of discussion in Parliament at the time of the brutal police takeover was in favor of reducing government funding of privately owned businesses, a practice which has seen increased prevalence in Caelapes over the past four months. Among those corporations which would be affected by the bill, if passed, was Premier Solutions, a company in which Deputy Minister Eric Peterson holds an unspecified amount of stock.

"Parliament and surrounding buildings are closed off at this time by the Federal Aeronavy and FPA, who are investigating what caused the violent breakout earlier."
