BIRTHS AND DEATH IN PACK BURNTFUR
PACK BURNTFUR announced in a press release earlier today that Bonfaaz Burntfur, Clan Leader of Clan Thraktok and Grand Clan Leader of the United Clans of the Charr, became a father as of 06:25 this morning. Four pups were counted in total, three of which were males.
Medicians from Lion's Arch Infirmary attended the scene and confirmed that all of the pups were free from deformities and appeared healthy. Burntfur was present as his second mate - Ereesta Burntfur - birthed the litter in the sacred grove of Artmis as per tradition, with labour taking an estimated four hours. Unfortunately, Ereesta did not survive the process. Medicians stated that there were complications with the final pup which required immediate on-site surgery, but the mother could not be saved.
Funerary proceedings are being planned by Pack Burntfur already, and the empty shell of Ereesta Burntfur will be transported to the Reekmaaf Flame Temple, where her spirit shall be freed in roughly one week's time. Pack Burntfur's representative explained that Ereesta met her death with bravery and honour, and due to this she shall receive a patch on their family tapestry. Bonfaaz Burntfur apparently intends to name the female pup in honour of his late mate.
All of the Clan Leaders, major and minor, have passed along their personal congratulations and condolences to their comrade, and it is expected that all who are able shall attend the funerary proceedings next week. Klarr Viletooth, one of Burntfur's closest companions, released an official government statement only moments ago:
"I am pleased that there are now many infant Burntfurs soon to be running around Tyria, causing the kind of mayhem that only Burntfurs know how. It is certain that he will have trained them in the art of disruption before long, and I almost look forward to the first time I sit down on a nail. Bonfaaz knows that the thoughts of all Clan Leaders are with him on this day, and I trust that our people everywhere share our sentiments. It is saddening that the gods chose this moment to extinguish Ereesta's life, but Bonfaaz must take heart that she met her death with honour. Take pride in that, and inform your offspring of her bravery when they are mature enough. May the gods give you strength."
Burntfur has officially confirmed that he will not be attending Council meetings for the next two weeks as he enters into his period of mourning and ensures his new offspring are taken care of. Klarr Viletooth will hold the mantle of Grand Clan Leader and shall take the reigns of Clan Thraktok until his return.
All of us at the Tyrian Times wish the Burntfur family well in these difficult times.
