In the late 1980s- early 90s racial tensions were rising in the state of South Africa, the black majority, tired of the oppression they'd suffered at the hands of Europeans, revolted and exacted bloody revenge on anyone who wasn't a "True African". After 2 years of anarchy, a hastily formed fascist party, modeled on the prospect of turning mother Africa into a unified country and exacting revenge on Europe for the horrors she had perpetrated on the world, seized power, declaring Johannesburg as their capital. Within hours of assuming power, president-for-life Sisulu decreed that all men between the ages of 12 and 23 were military reservists. In the cities the work on the nation's first 4 year plan began. Now South Africa is almost ready to begin their nationalist crusade to unite the whole of Africa. Only time will tell if they'll succeed.

MILITARY: The South African Military (South African Defence/offence Forces or SADOF *sahd-off*) is divided into four branches, the South African Army, the South African Air Force, the South African Navy, and the South African Military Health Services. Since the current regime has taken over, a massive military buildup has occurred. South Africa possesses ten atom bombs and the capability to produce more.

If you want a better name for your leader, does "Melisizwe Sisulu" work?

It actually is an authentic Xhosa name...

HIV/AIDS

AIDS is a massive problem in South Africa, prompting the government to immediately classify people with symptoms of the disease as "unclean" and treat them as lepers, making all contact with them frowned upon. Ironically, this primitive view, while heavily criticized as ignoring the problem, has reduced the rate of infection both by increasing death rates of those already infected and lowering the rate of sexual intercourse between symptomatic individuals and healthy ones. Recently there has been talk of organized execution of afflicted individuals, but many in the government refuse to treat their "brothers" in the same way as the hated oppressors. 4.8 million people are thought to be living with the virus today. ((OOC:I lowered the number because more of them would die, if that's not ok tell me))

Official response from the Glorious state of South Africa:

The one nation that has continually suppressed fascism in all it's forms and promoted the hated communism? The nation that sided with Britain during World War two? The most imperialist nation in the world today? No. We will not accept your embassy. And even if we would, our people wouldn't stand for it. The building would be burned down as soon as there was enough vodka to keep your bodies alight and we would be overthrown as traitors. You may communicate to us through France if you so wish. Good day.

Re: Consulate

As the representative of Theoropia, I would like to be listed as an ally, for I do not like being aggressive. However, the Socialist Congress of Theoropia would like to know why the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is listed as an enemy nation. We have done many deals in the past, and formed a business, if not friendly, relationship. We would like an answer to our question post haste.

Official message from the Glorious state of South Africa:

We're not a fan of Communist nations, however we did make an exception for France. We'll exchange embassies, but you'll have to limit your guards to 15 men, and we cannot accept responsibility for your diplomats if they leave the city without permission. Understood?
