Company of the 92.Infanterie-Regiment, for the next fw years after your entrolment, you guys will sleep, eat and fight alongside each other, i suggest you to know your guys arround you better. Physical Training
Tranier in charge: OFw Gottschalk

"Good morning men, im Oberfeldwebel Gottschalk, nice to meet you guys. To let you know im in charge of your fittness in this Company. Lets begin with a 3 km Jog shall we?"

The training that day became purely physical, many Soldiers became tired and one guy fainted during training. "Fuck that, asshole" said Bauer, "next time, we go for a 3km job i'd rather walk!"

Barracks

Hermann Karl walked up and noticed his name on the assault squad 1, and was pleased, and soon joined the rest on the 3km jog, which he did with a little effort, for he had done daily jog's in America before he joined, and this happened to be the same jog length as he had done in America. He was sweating quite a bit, and he kept in time with the others, and the rest of the training he guessed would be, obstacle courses, and marksmanship.

At the end of the jog Domminique Gloop was tired and very much out of breath. He couldn't believe it, they just arrived and already had to jog for three kilometers. That was more than Domminique had jogged his whole life.

After the jog, Lukas Goering sat down. He was out of breath and sweating. That was a little more then he ever jogged.
"Shit, first day and this..."

Hermann was sweating and breathed like, *ah ha ah ha *that. He walked over to the man named Lukas Goering and said "Hi, I am Herman Karl, I see you're Lukas Goering, that was a good jog wasn't it? I wonder where we'll be sent to after training?" He sat down next to the man named Lukas Goering.

Domminique looked around at the people around him. He figure'd he'd better introduce himself now.

"Hi, I'm Domminique Gloop. I'm from Berlin."

Hermann Karl said "Hello Domminque, I am Hermann Karl, I am from Hamburg."

"Hmmm... what did you think of that jog? Bunch of crap making us do all that as soon as we get here." Domminique said.

Hermann Karl said "It wasn't that bad, I have done some jog's before, and I was really fit, I had been a newspaper boy in Hamburg, so I was used to running and jogging before, compared to jog's I've done, this was medium level for me. I am not bragging, just telling you, why I don't mind this sort of stuff."

He turned to Herman.
"Who knows. I'm just looking forward to getting my handson that Mauser."
He cricked his neck and looked at the man named Domminique Gloop.
"Hey. I'm Lukas Goering, from Magdeburg."

"Eh, so this was a Medium level jog huh? Well your strange. Anyone who thinks three Kilometers is a medium jog...." Domminique said letting his sentence trail off.

As the men stood chatting, a slightly overweight character panted into view.

"Good....sweet....Lord....must....rest....ergh."

He crawled to where the men were introducing themselves.

"Warren Dreisand...at your service."

He turned to Herman.
"Who knows. I'm just looking forward to getting my handson that Mauser."
He cricked his neck and looked at the man named Domminique Gloop.
"Hey. I'm Lukas Goering, from Magdeburg."

"Hi Lukas, looks like we are in the same squad. Can't wait to work with you."

OCC: Good to see you guys posting. If you guys want post another link for Conversations in the barracks(to Advoid too much spam due to mainly one sentences posts), this few days will be mainly on getting to know your squad mates through traning.

Back at the Barracks

"Aw, man my legs are tired." whined Bauer, "hi im Harlan Bauer, call me Har or Bauer, im from Hamburg too"

"Company fall in! 1 MINUTE!"
Everyone rushed down to the square in the middle of the campsite.

"Alright, before your dinner, you will recieve your uniform, weapon and your full bag pack. After you have your dinner, lay out everything nicely here and do a equipment check, make sure everything is in place, its that understood?"

"YES SIR!!!"

"Alright, time now is 5.30 you have until 7.30 to have your dinner, shower and laying out of equipment. Any later comers without a valid excuse will be punished for a night hike, IS THAT CLEAR!?!?!"

"YES SIR!"

The Company disbanded for their evening "Free & Easy".

Lukas walked over to where Dreisand dragged himself. "You okay, Dreisand? You look like your about to die."

Herman Karl stood up and said "Hello Warren, I am Herman Karl, I am from Hamburg, we just had a little jog which was fun for me, I hadn't done one in a while. I can't wait to get my hands on a MP-38, supposed to be a nice gun."

Domminique rushed to the mess hall and hastily ate a light meal. He quickly went out and did an equipment check. He acomplished this in under 40 minutes. He still had plenty of time to go.

Herman said "If you will excuse me, I'll grab a meal, and do an equipment check and then come back." He did just that, jogged to the mess hall, ate a decent meal, did an equipment check, and came back in plenty of time, sitting next to Warren.

"Marcher...not a runner...ergh. Give us a hand...hope I don't have to run like that with that damned MG34 on my back..."

He stood for a second, catching his breath.

"Anyway, shall we get a bite to eat? I'm famished..."

After the equipment check was compleated Domminique enterd the barracks and found his bunk. He sat on it and waited for the others. Some of which, he noticed, hadn't even gotten up to eat and do the equipment check.

Lukas sat down polishing his gun. He had already got everything else ready and had a quick meal. He started whistling quietly.
When the gun shined nicely, he brought it back and laid with the rest of his equiptment on his bunk. He noticed Gloop sitting on his, and raised his hand in acknowledgement.

Herman went into the barrack's and found his bunk and said to Domminuque "What have you left behind by joining the army? I found that I am fighting for Germany, but I however have a different view of the Americans though. I am sure glad that I went to Harvard when I did. I am hoping that we don't get assigned to attacking some cold country like Poland, that would be miserable."

"Yes it would. I'm not leaving much behind. My mother died when I was very young, and my father recently passed. I've got nothing to lose. So, I fight."

Many Soldiers feel alsleep some could not walk after the jog and the PT.

Kahl took the MG34 from Dreisand's Laid out matt sheet tried to aim it and placed it back, "Hi im Edmud Kahl, nice to meet you Dreisand I've heard we are buddies."

Having made his way to the mess tent, and grabbed a bite to eat (a rather substantial "bite" for Warren), he ambled back to his bunk. Having been shooting with his father many a time, he was accurate enough with a rifle, but an automatic support gun was another thing altogether.

As he entered, he saw Kahl with the MG34.

"Hello, how do you do. Guess we get stuck with the big guns, eh?"

My mother well, is living in America now, I tried to get there too, but along the way, I was captured and basicliy forced into the army. 1st September, 300hrs

The German Soldiers were not ordered to sleep, the invasion was 2 hours away. But many of them got tired and knocked off into their wonderland. It soon became distrubed. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! German 155m Artillery rained down on the Polish Pillboxes, it was pandimonium. Many German Soldiers were shocked and thought they were fired apon, but they were wrong.

15 minutes later, Ju87D Stukas dive down on the Polish 75mm guns. The troops saw in the Polish Border across, rounds of Anti-craft guns lit the sky. Pencils of Searchlights filled the sky as the Polish attempt to gun down the German Aircraft. The Stukas were then Followed by He111s which carpet bombed the Forest. Blitzkrieg it was. Then at around 445hrs, BF109s had a Major Dogfight over the skies of Poland, the Troops watched in amazment. "I hope they got those guns" said Bauer. In the dogfight, a German BF109 plane was hit, its engines was ablaze, yet the Pliot wanted to make an attempt to land back at the Airfield, along the way, over the Border it started to go down. Prrrrrr...!!! BOOM!!! It crashed right In front of the Positions 70 meters away from where Squad 1 was.

The Polish guns, which were most probally had the crews shell shocked were not destroyed by the Stukas. At 515 hrs they returned fire. Their shelling however was largely ineffective and most of the rounds ended up In front of the German Positions. One however landed into a German foxhole, killed all the four German Soldiers in it, they were from 2nd Platoon, Squad 4.

"Wait! Wait for Sun to Rise!" said Major Shultze, "remember wait for the smoke to fill..." The troops knew what was happening next...

Hermann watched the plane crash 70 meteres away from him and his squad's posistion, and wiped his brow's, and mutterd "Mein Gott, that was close, but I gotta look alive." It was pure pandominuim, shell's flying every where, gun's blazing, cries of pain, smoke was filling the air. He grabbed his MP-38 to defend himself from any Polish troops that might venture nearby.

Johanne kept his head down, while also staring over the border in wonder. He checked that his equipment was secured and his gun operational, before waiting for the signal.
Here goes nothing, he thought glumly.

Lukas crossed himself and checked his gun was in full order. No one was speaking, and if they were you couldn't hear them over the scream of planes and howls of falling shells. He prepared himself for the signal to charge.

Hermann checked his MP-38, made sure it was working, and awaited the signal to charge into combat against the Poles.

CHARGE!!!

The Support Squads fired their smoke barrages. Charge! Whistle* Whistle* "AHHHHH!" the German Troops stood up from their foxholes and ran into the Open field. The Pillboxes, battered from the Stukas and Gun fire did little effort to return fire. The Polish 75mm Did more damage, the fired the German troops in the Open field. A German Soldier who was charging 30meters away of Johanne was hit by one of the shell. He was thrown onto the floor, "argh FUCK! MEDIC!" he cried

Hermann leapt up out of his foxhole and started running, dodging machine gun fire from all side's, grabbing his MP-38 as he charged, the wind rushing down, shell's flying, bomb's dropping, and gun's blazing, he thought he was on some crazy battlefield.

Lukas lept from the foxhole and charged the pillboxes. He saw a soldier near him get hit by a shell and thrown to the ground, yelling for a medic. He couldn't see Johanne anywhere. He saw a Polish soldier in one of the pillboxes aiming at the fallen soldier. He let of a few bullets at the pillbox and hit the soldier in the chest. He kept running.

Hermann saw a Polish soldier aiming for him, so he fired his MP-38, and put a few lead bullet's in the soldier, hitting the man in the shoulder and chest, and kept running.

OOC Sorry, I had to leave quickly earlier on.

For a few seconds, Johanne lay down, eyes blank as if he were dazed. Finally, the yells penetrated into his brain; Medic!
Quickly checking the area, Johanne rushed over to the side of the fallen soldier, bullets flying past him. He flung himself against the ground, crawling up to his wounded comrade. He had taken a hit to the leg, and a few glancing shots to his arm. Nothing serious.
"You'll be okay..." he whispered reassuringly, turning the soldier over. He opened his medical pouch, removing two packets. He made a hole around the wounds. Out of the first packet, he sprinkled a powder over the injuries, before taking out two gramme tablets from the other container. He put oen in the soldier's mouth, and held the other in his hand.
"Swallow." He commanded, waiting for the soldier to gulp it down before placing the other tablet in and repeating. He then placed the packages back in his sack, before removing a pair of scissors and bandages. Measuring hastily, he quickly dressed the wound.

OOC: No problem RSU, thing's get in the way sometimes.

IC:

Hermann saw a Polish calvaryman charging at him, he raised his MP-38 at the man on horse, and fired, knocking the man off the horse. Hermann kept charging, and firing at any enemy infantry he saw that was aiming at him.

Johanne looked out over a nearby crater, looking for any Polish counter-attacks. He saw one soldier shooting out of the ruins of Pillbox. Johanne reached behind his back....and met thin air.
"Scheiße!" Johanne muttered, realising he must have dropped his rifle when he ran across. He reached by the holster on his leg and found his pistol. Atleast he would be able to defend himself.
"Schnell! Schnell! Need backup!" He called behind him, keeping low.

Lukas heard Johanne, ran over to him and dropped to the ground, firing at the Polish soldier in the pillbox. He caught the Pole in his right arm.

"Glad you could make it." Johanne muttered, drawing his Luger. He felt slightly better, now he knew he wasn't crouching alone.
"He's stable." He said, indicating at the fallen soldier. "But he needs to be taken back to barracks." As if to show this, another shell fell nearby, showering them with smoke and dirt.

"Alright, I'll help you bring him back. You're missing a weapon as well. Make sure to pick up a gun somewhere, can't have the medic getting shot."

Johanne smiled.
"Atleast I won't have to call for medical attention." He shuffled backwards, looking ahead. He pulled off the soldier's blanket, and lay it out over the ground. Gently, he placed the soldier over it.
"Pull slowly and carefully, and stay down. And don't fire unless you need to, or you'll attract their gunners." Johanne took one final look before slowly edging his way backwards.

Lukas did as Johanne said, and prayed that the Polish soldiers wouldn't spot them.

The journey was not an easy one. One man. Only one Polish rifleman needed to notice them, and they were dead. Stray bullets skimmed past Johanne's head, and there was still the threat of stray shells. Finally, they made it back to the entrenchement. Johanne breathed a sigh of relief. He quickly called for stretcher, and another Mauser. He also restocked his pouch. There was bound to be many more casualties.
"Thanks for your help, comrade...?"

"Lukas. And it was no problem. Come on, we better get going back."

"Ja." Johanne said simply, loading his newly aquired Mauser. He scanned the battlefield quickly. German forces were starting to advance. The Stukas had indeed shattered the defensive line. "I'll stick with you. I can't see any other members of our squad..."

Hermann couldn't see his other member's of his squad, but he caught up with Lukas and Johann, and said grimly "I've lost the other member's of my sqaud, I'll join you, I think Gunther's alive, but Max is dead I think, I haven't seen him, probably killed by the Pole's 75mm gun's." He trudged on with Lukas and Johanne hoping to see Gunther alive and join up with him, and he suddenly saw a Pole rush at him bayonet, but Hermann was smart, and moved in, avoided the bayonet, and did a couple of body blow's, and took out his knife, and stabbed the Pole with a fatal stab, took it out of the dead soldier, wiped it off, with a rag, and placed it back in his scabbard.

Johanne crawled out into the centre of the battle, where the most injuries were. One soldier had been literally ripped in half by gunfire. Johanne almost retched. Johanne quickly prepared a styrette and injected it into the writhing body of a soldier. Apart form the evisecration, all the other injuries were minor, but he would need to get them back to the entrenchment. He stood up, an action he would soon regret.
"I need a stretch-" He began, before a shell landed dangerously close. The shrapnel missed the fallen soldiers, but the force of the impact knocked Johanne against the ground, leaving him dazed and shellshocked.

Lukas sprinted ahead of a hail of gunfire and jumped to the ground behind a dead soldier. The gunfire stopped, the gunners probaly thought he was dead. Where was everyone? He could see Hermann, he was attacking a Polish soldier but where was Johanne? He got up into a crouch and saw him. He was lying bowled over near a crater, along with some other soldiers and one who'd been ripped in half. He ran over, still in his crouch, and shook Johanne.
"Wake up, man. There's still soldiers to heal."

THe Polish guns gave a Second Volley.

"Mein Gott! Kahl, get over here! We need to help these guys! There, head up with Johanne - we'll try and give them some cover on the advance. Jesus, those Stukas do some damage, ja?"

"Ja, fantastic. We'll have to be quiet, lest the Poles catch us."

They began to move across the now-scarred landscape, catching up with Lukas Johanne and Hermann

"Kahl, keep that ammunition handy. We'll be the ones making sure the others don't get sho-down!"

"What?"

"Bunker, to the right. Polish soldier. Quick, load the gun!"

Dreisand pushed out the legs of the MG34, before setting it on the edge of the foxhole. Kahl, his hands visibly shaking, clipped in the belt. Three short bursts rang out, and the Polish soldier dropped dead.

"Johanne! Lukas! Over here!"

Lukas moved over to Dreisand and Kahl.
"Johanne got hit by a shell when he was trying to get some injured back to the barracks. No one got hit by shrapnel, though. I'm trying to wake him up again so we can get the injured out."

"Damnit...tell you what...you keep low and drag him back, me and Kahl will get down to our jobs and keep a look out. We'll set up by that wall there."

He pointed to a pile of rubble that had, at one point, been a wall.

"When we give the mar, we'll head for the wall and set up. When we give the second, we'll begin covering fire, and you can drag him back. Ready Kahl? Three, two, one, move!"

They stumbled across the landscape, so far avoiding the gaze of the few polish soldiers left after the bombardment. Making the wall, they began to set up their equipment.

"Ready, Lukas?"

"Ready." He grabbed Johanne and another sodier who didn't look too wounded and started to drag them back to the barracks.

"Covering fire..."

Laying down medium-length bursts and hoping that the gun wouldn't overheat again, Dreisand did his best to make sure the enemy were kept suppressed.

He may not kill anyone, but it will ensure that his comrades aren't killed themselves. Seeing that Lukas was a suitable distance away, he readied to pull back.

"On my mark, we run, head for the foxhole 25 yards that way, and we'll figure it out from there. Ready, two, three, go!"

They ran for the foxhole. Polish soldiers, seeing that they had pulled from the wall, began running after them.

"Shit!"

Lukas looked up and saw that Polish soldiers were chasing after Dreisand and Kahl. He lay down the two soldiers and took out his gun. He aimed and fired off a clip at them. He got one in the head and another in the chest. The rest of the bullets missed. He swore, picked up Johanne and the soldiers again and began pulling them back.

"Holy shit Lukas! That was nearly my ear! Kahl, get the fuck down, and grab a feed!"

They dived into a foxhole, Kahl's helmet nearly flying off his head. Dreisand, more urgent that ever, grabbed the legs of the MG34 and flung them forward, digging it into the soft mud around the edge.

"Damnit Kahl, shove the feed in there! They're closing!"

The polish soldiers, seeing that the MG34 was about to begin firing, hit the deck and decided to shoot first. Shots rang past Dreisand and Kahl as they began firing bursts at the soldiers.

"Grr! Try and drop me, damnit!"

After what seemed like an eternity, the polish soldiers had ceased firing. Dreisand's hand had been nicked by a bullet as it had shot past him, which would require bandaging.

"Quick, Kahl, we must gather our things. Head back to barracks."

"Indeed. That hand's not going to look nice if we don't get it sorted. Keep low."

"Roger that. Ready, two three...move!"

Hermann said to Lukas and Johanne "I'll give you covering fire, go go go!" He yelled this at the top of his lungs, for the machine gun fire, and shell's exploding were so loud that he had to do it. He fired at the Polish infantry that was nearing the foxhole, dropping some, and then he ran to catch up with the other's, after the decimation of his squad, he presumed.

Soon, the Company heard the rolling thunder of Tanks,

"Holy Fuck get down!"

"Hey look at the Markings its ours"

The Panzer IIIs cleared out the Polish guns for the Infantry and continued rolling ahead.

A smile played around the edges of Lukas' mouth, but quickly dissapeared.
"Heh, we got armour support."

Hermann cheered and said "Let's hope the Pole's will stop their barrage of deadliness that wiped out my squad!" He followed Lukas and Dresiden, and Johanne, for they were the one's he had stumbled upon, somehow in that wild first charge, Max had been killed, and maybe Gunther too, he caught up to Lukas and said "Hi Lukas, may I link up with you, I might have lost my whole squad today, I am not sure where Gunther and Maximillian are though...."

"Shit, I think Domminque is dead, too. I haven't seen him since the battle started... Anyways, sure, tag along. We need to stick together if we don't want to die."

After the battle, Bauer was looking for Adolphus,

"ahh there you are! hey what are you doing down there? get up!"

He went Closer,

"Oh my God!"

Adolphus had been machine gunned, bullet holes all over his torso. Bauer checked if we was alive, unforuntely, he was dead.

Bauer pulled himself together and went over to 1st Squad to tell about the bad news.

Hermann saw out of the corner of his eye 2 Pole's attempting to sneak up on them, he whirled and fired his MP-38 at both of them, killing them. He said to Lukas as they walked "I am glad that I have good periphal vision, 2 Poles tried to sneak up behind us and kill us. I think there's a good chance that Gunther's dead I haven't seen him since this started. When you think about it, I haven't seen my squad leader either, he said before the battle, that we'd expect to lose half our squad, but mine now, my squad's lost 3/4 of the squad."

Hermann said to Lukas "Bauer's running over to us, let's find a place to take cover, I think that he has new's for me about the fate of the rest of 1st sqaud, ah a ruined wall." He, Lukas and Johnanne got down behind the wall, and Bauer came nearer Hermann saluted and said "Have you seen Gunther Strauss, what about Adoplhus Maximillian?"

"Oh my god im sorry, but Adoplhus is dead."

"Come with me lets drag his body back to base."

Hermann groaned and walked with Bauer, and helped to carry Adolphus's dead body back to the base and said to Bauer "Any clue what happened to Gunther? My goodness, we've just lost 1 member of our squad, and now we might lose another one."

"Sorry Pal but no, he could have been reassgined, you know.. in the Chaos."

"Bauer, what about Gloop and Drec? Any sign of them?"

Johanne slowly opened his eyes and quickly inhaled. Expecting the greyish roof of the barracks, he was met with the sight of open sky, now strewn with smoke and Stukas. He tried to move, but his body refused. It was like being paralysed.
Shellshock, he thought. He had heard about it from his father. How the mind slowed down, and the body seemed unable to react. He could still hear a ringing in his ears. He tried twitching his fingers, moving his feet, anything just to know he was still alive. His fingers dug into the soft earth, and he opened his mouth. He wasn't able to speak, but hopefully he would be able to get someone's attention.

"Hey, Johanne's awake. You all right buddy? Can you speak?"

Hermann said "Bauer, I am afraid that 1st sqaud is out of action, only you and I are left, I guess we just join the 3rd sqaud now or what?" He pointed to Lukas and Johanne.

Johanne tried to say something, but all that emerged was a gasping sound. He managed to pull up one hand, and grabbed Lukas' wrist.

"I'll take that as a no. Come on, I oughta get you back." Lukas dragged Johanne back to the barracks and laid him against a wall.

Hermann said to Bauer "Our squad is basicly seperated, you and I are the only member's still together or alive maybe, so what are your orders?" It was the definition of hell in a handbasket he thought.

ooc: sorry I've been out forever! Whats going on thus far?

OOC: Well, our company has just arrived near Lodz, Poland, and the fighting is mostly done, and my guy is with the 1st sqaud leader, and he and the sqaud leader are the only surviving members of 1st sqaud, Maximillian is dead, and I think Gunther might be too, my sqaud took heavy casualites.

ooc:well I have no Idea what happend to my squad (2nd) any idea?

ooc: Lukas is still alive, not sure about Drec, I think Domminque is too.

ooc:Well I should be...


IC: Domminique came back from the battle, unsure exactly what had happend. When he thought back he couldn't recall a single thing. He didn't even know if he had been in the battle. In his mind all he saw was blackness.

Lukas saw Domminque stumbling outside the barracks and shouted over.
"Shit, what happened to you? Come over here."

"Wha...what happend? Where are we? Whats been going on?" Domminique mutterd. Then looking confused at Lukas, "Who are you?"



ooc: I'm going with a memory lost direction. I may regain it someday, for now though my memory is gone.

Lukas shook Domminque.

Operation Shufflze

Squad leaders of both Companies told their fellow comrades what was going to happen next. The last barrier and line of defense before we are able to break through and advance across the plains of Poland and into Lodz is the river Warta.

Here the Polish dug in well. Across the river lay Polish Concrete and steel Bunkers, and the Luftwaffe has redirceted all of its resources to the bombing of Warsaw, therefore there will be no air Coverage throughout the attack. The Support squads will give Supressing fire while the Assault squads row across in these wooden boats. Elements of the 4th Panzer Division are to Cross this river and spearhead into Lodz and the Operation must be done before sunset tommrow. Engineers are to lay an Pontoon bridge and we are to defend the bridgehead. The Polish would pull in all of their resources to Stop these tanks from rolling across the river, expect a hell of a fire fight.

The troops moved out, meeting no resitance, the Polish fell back across the river and blew every bridge that was across the River Warta. Here 1. Company stopped their advance and awaited for dawn the next day.

If there was one thing Domminique did remember, it was how to use a gun. Though how he knew he had no idea. He followed the others still confused but figured he had nothing better to do.

The Company's medics helped Domminique to gain back his senses.

"hey your back at the army man, remember Major Shultze?"

They asked serveral questions, just to keep his mind working.

IC: "Wait I remember now! We just attacked the Polish Border! I... I killed men, I... killed them. And we lost someone, though i can't remember his name..." Domminique exclaimed suddenly.

When the order to charge was given Gunther Strauss stood up just like everyone else and ran foward, this would be his first time in combat and it was proving to be the rush of a life time, the first few bullets wizzed by him causing the young German soldier to flinch slightly. In front of him he could see first squad, then all of a sudden an explosion went off from a 75mm infantry gun, the impact threw him sideways.....

Suddenly he awoke covered in dirt breating heavily, Strauss felt over his body quickly seeing if he was hit...

Oh my god..oh my god..oh my god..

When he realized he was fine Gunther got to his knees, ears still ringing from the explosion then a Sergent grabbed him by his Y straps,

"Get the fuck up and attack soldier!! if you stay here you will die!! FOLLOW ME!!"

Gunther ran after the Sergent who ran through the feild moving towards the left flank, Strauss seen bodys scatted about, soldiers firing at fixed enemy positions and two men so scared the looked as if they didn't intend on moving any time soon...

Cowards..

Ahead of the Sergent waited a dozen other men waiting to go over a small dirt mound, the two dropped..

"Call me Sergent Rosenburg! your with my squad now soldier! when i give the order we go up the center with afew of my men, i have others assigned to break off on the flanks! i went back to find more men because my original group is all over the place,

Suddenly another barrage of 75mm guns went off, the sound of battle was intense, like no other noise Gunther had ever heard...non stop noise...

"MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!"

The soldiers climbed out and rushed the pill box, the sound of a MG echoed through the air and the muzzle flash could be seen directly in front of them...Gunther ran foward as fast as he could, he seen the dirt on the ground shooting up everywhere from bullets striking it, he took a pipe grenade in his hand pulled the pin, dropped to the ground and threw it..


**BOOM**

He looked up, it had went right through the front and exploded! the machine gun fire from inside ceased,

"AHHH!"

Gunther stood back up and ran towards the bunker, two more grenades went off beside it, strauss ran around the side and attempted to look in but the smoke had not cleared, then he heard coughing and moved into the smoke..

Inside lay two bodys and a third wounded laying on the ground, Gunther raised his rifle, took aim, he man reached for him....

**Ka-POW**

Blood from the mans face spalatterd all over the wall beside where he was laying and he went limp, the Sergent ran up to the pill boxes entrance..

"GOOD PREFORMANCE! BUT WE ARE NOT DONE! come!!"

Gunther looked over the dead men once more, he wasn't sure what to feel or why he had just killed that wounded man...maybe it was because they had been gunning down his commrades, but now he had other things to do there was time to think about this later.

After two more bunkers were cleared and 3 machine gun nests and quite afew enemy casulties later the shooting slowly ceased, Gunther seperated from Sergent Dresner and his men and headed for his own squad, all that was on his mind now was the thought of their well being...Sergent Dresner said he had faught with bravery under fire and never showed hesitation to the orders given.

Gunther stopped outside of his compnay barracks and took a deep breath, he hoped he would walk inside and see everyone present, after a moment he stepped in with his head down then looked up to see who was all there.....

Hermann saw Gunther limping into the barracks, and ran to help him and said with a worried face "Gunther, I am glad, you're alive, Max was killed, but you're alive, I am glad, for I thought my squad was decimated by the Pole's 75 mm artillery, I am happy!"

"Wait I remember now! We just attacked the Polish Border! I... I killed men, I... killed them. And we lost someone, though i can't remember his name..." Domminique exclaimed suddenly.

Lukas smiled grimly.
"Thank god. Bad enough getting shot at, but having to babysit an amnesiac during battle would be hell." The smile was replace by a grimace.
"We lost Maximillion, from 1st squad."

Hermann sat down and wiped his brow's, and said "I am lucky that I was only hit here, *he pointed to a hit in the arm* and nowhere else, I wonder howcome Max got killed?"

Gunther limped in and leaned his rifle against the wall, he was covered in dirt head to toe, he took his helmet and gear off setting them on the floor and sat in a chair....

He looked at his hand that was trembling as he held it in front of him..

"My nerves are shot"

He gave a weak grin, he was upset by the loss of Max but could not dwell on that..he seen many men die today, some he had killed himself...

He nodded to Lukas,

"Good to see you.."

He looekd back to Hermann,

"I didn't get a scratch, i took out a bunker and a machine gun nest all by myself...with the group we killed many enemys.."

Hermann said "At least we have a brief interlude before we have to go out and fight, and I hope that we don't die tomorrow, it was by pure luck that I survived, and that all the dead people didn't, I took out 2 Polish MG posisiton's, and cleared out 4 pillboxes. I can say one thing about the Polish, they might have outdated weapon's compared to us, but they're sure brave! They've been putting up a fight so far."

Lukas took a box of matches out of his pack and handed them to Gunther.
"Here. I never use lighters."
He looked at his gun.
"This thing killed a lot of people today. That's its first blood. It's probaly going to take a hell of a lot more before the month is out..."

Hermann while stripping and cleaning his MP-38 said "Knock on wood, this baby's never jammed *pointing to the MP-38*, the MP-38 is good, since what if a Pole popped up suddenly, it take's less recation time to fire a quick burst, then to raise the rifle up and fire, although you could do that quickly. My MP-38 preformed admiralbly, this is probably the first use of the MP-38, I didn't see very many MP-38's out on the front though, could be because it's new or something...."

"A rifles a lot more accurate though. I'd personally prefer a sniper rifle over a SMG or rifle."

Hermann shrugged "Yeah, but the SMG is what I've got so there are advantage to it, for instance, when I was clearing out bunker's with it, it's very useful for CQB, for I can get a burst on a guy, and he will drop like that *he snapped his fingers*, so a rifle's a better long range gun, but I don't have one, so I gotta make do with what I got Lukas."

"True, true."

Hermann examined his helmet and showed everyone a bullet that had been stopped by the helmet, and said "Mein Gott, if that had gone into me.." There was silence, everyone knew what he was thinking, if that had gone into Hermann, he wouldn't have been there talking to them, and he said "Wow, just wow! I am lucky, whew!"

Johanne sat silently, chewing a cigarette. He wore a small bandage around his head which was the source of his discomfort. It wasn't the pain, nor was it the feeling when he was shellshocked. He felt humiliated. He was the medic. He was suppose to look after his teammates, and yet he had been saved by them. He felt useless, like some hapless child. And technically, he was.

Hermann was silent for a little bit and said suddenly "How far is Warsaw from Lodz? Anybody know?"

Lukas sat next to Johanne.
"Hey man. You alright?"

Johanne nodded slightly, rolling the cigarette between his teeth.

Hermann finished cleaning his MP-38 and started to put it back together and said "I clean my gun after every use of it, man it was sure dirty Mein Gott!"

Hermann was silent for a little bit and said suddenly "How far is Warsaw from Lodz? Anybody know?"

"It's just down the road, a little over fifty miles."

Hermann nodded "And the question will be, just how fortifed the 50 mile's are, if they're lightly defended, it'll be no problem, but if they were as defended as they were today, it'll be hell."

Johanne nodded slightly, rolling the cigarette between his teeth.

"Good, we need our medic in top form if we're gonna keep going to Warsaw."

Hermann said "I hope the resistance is light, it seem's like today the Polish threw all they had at us, do you think they have more?"

"They'll definitely throw everything they got at us to defend their capital. I'd say really heavy resistance."

Hermann sighed and said "I wonder which of us will still be in our HQ tomorro night. It's a bit unsettlingto wonder that."

occ: Huh? Sith check the front page and see what squad you are, no human player is assigned to 2nd squad. And Carlizorinzan, about you knifing Polish Calvary men, im gonna clso one eye for that now and assumed that your character is spectulcating nonsense :p, next time if you describe the battle please tell more about what i gave you as Polish resistence, cause to tell you the truth, there were no Polish Calvarymen along the border around Lodz.

3rd September, Britain and France declares war on Germany

it is around 200hrs, and the troops heard that Britain and France declared war on Germany. The French had already begun attacking the Saar. This pressed the commanders to finish the war in poland faster and redirect all of the German troops to France.

**BOOM**

Gunther's eyes shot open, panting and sweating, he looked around but only saw his fellow squad members...he breathed a sigh of relief. After his cigerette he passed out sitting against the wall, he seen the battle in his dreams, the explosion that nearly killed him at the beginning..even though he was not there he seen Max get hit...

He looked around at everyone and sat there quietly...

Domminique sat. Still completely unsure of his contributions to the battle.

Thinking back all he could remember was, Blood, he didn't remember any numbers, no specifics, only blood.

"Well guys, this is boring, I need some more action."

Hermann tuned into the radio and said "Well, France and Britan just declared war on us, I was hoping they..." He suddenly cut off, for his posistion of being schooled in Britan and America was a dangerous thing.

"You were hoping they what? What were you hoping? I'd say bring it on. We can take em! But what were you hoping?" Domminique asked.

Johanne mumbled something incoherently, resting against an ammunition crate. He hadn't slept for days. Probably due to the noise, his head injury and the endless cigarettes he'd been smoking, or an appropriate combination of the both.
I'd fight against the entire Polish army armed with a spade just for a cup of Wodka, he thought. Sighing slightly, he decided due to his insomnia he may aswell join the conversation.
"Bah, Britain and France are an inconvience. We almost beat them both last time. Neither are match for the glorious Red Army. No wonder 'the fuhrer' made a pact with them."

"Heh. I don't trust the Communists. They might help us for now, but it's like cleaning a Crocodile's teeth."

"Well, of course a philosophy based on equality and freedom for all people must be evil and distrustworthy..." Johanne muttered sarcastically. "They haven't done anything which would point to them having plans to betray us."

"Listen, Johanne, it's a great idea, but it doesn't work. Most people will do as they should, but there will always be greedy people. Anyways..." He took out 8 bottles of rum. "I found these in a Polish camp near those pillboxes we took out. Who wants some?"

Hermann said "If Hitler decides to attack Russia, then he'll be officially in my view insane, I've kept my dislike for him on the quiet, it'd be better for us to lose then win, no man has ever taken over the world succesfully, just look at Alexander, after he died, his general's started quarrleling, and I don't care how Hitler treat's Jew's, and his so called "undesarlibles. I am sorry for saying this, I'm keeping it on the quiet."

The attack begun

630 hrs. "raaaaattttttt, raaaaaatttt, Reload!" German Support squads rained down motars of smoke and supressing fire on the Polish defenses. Go Go Go Go!!! The German troops charged out of their Positions, with wooden boats they rushed to the river and put down their boats. Among them Derc who rejoined 3rd squad after being lost, was in the battle as well.

The smoke barrage was badly excuted the strong winds that day made the smoke dissapear faster than usual. The boats were only rowing halfway when that happened...

"Keep your head down!" He yelled, picking up his Mauser. Any second now, and the rain of fire woudl begin. He patted his medical sack subconsciously.

The sound of fire echoed through the air as the boat moved out into the river, many more German soldiers were already in the process of crossing, the roar of stuka's overhead was the dominant sound at this time, the loud screech of them diving on their targets unleashing hell from above...

Gunther got into his combat mindstate that kept him going before, said a small prayer and got ready for action...

Hermann nodded, and he rowed faster then he thought he could in his life, suddenly they were at the bank he hopped out and yelled to Gunther "Let's go, if we run we may not be dead men tonight!" He and Gunther started to run towards their objective.

The Polish soon brought out a battrie of those deadly 75mm guns and fired onto the boats who were sitting ducks.

"FUCK, get the FUCK DOWN!"

The Explosions made the watter ripple so much that it created mini waves and an unexpected heavier 122mm Polish infantry guns fire, and rained down on them, but missed and blew up on the river Slighly further North from their Positions, had they been more accurate, they would all have been dead.

Johanne's boat was merely metres from the shore when a shell detonated nearby. The shockwave tipped the boat, knocking out three of it's passengers and a single ammo crate. Johanne cursed under his breath. Casting off his bags and dropping his rifle, he jumped over the edge to help the drowning soldiers. He pulled them up to the surface, making sure they were conscious before going down again. The soldiers had been given a shock, but they were undamaged. They crawled onto the bank, seconds after the boat itself had reached the shore. Johanne felt content to leave them here, going back into the water to search for the ammo crate.

"Come on, out out out!" He jumped out over the side and onto the ground. He ran forward just as a shell smashed into his boat. A soldier got caught in the back by a spike of shrapnel.

When his boat reached the shore Domminique jumped out an ran looking for cover. He saw a small ditch and dived into it. looking over the top twords the enemy he fired at whatever moved.

Johanne emerged from the water to be met face to face with a mutilated soldier. His back was badly burnt, and embedded with shrapnel. He lay there, gasping like out of water, begging for help. Johanne pulled out his Luger, closed his eyes, and after a few seconds of tears, pulled the trigger. The soldier's cries of anguish were silenced, his pain relieved.

Hermann nodded, and he rowed faster then he thought he could in his life, suddenly they were at the bank he hopped out and yelled to Gunther "Let's go, if we run we may not be dead men tonight!" He and Gunther started to run towards their objective.

Gunther heard the shells screaming overhead,

"God damned artillary again!!"

He nodded to Hermann and ran up the bank, acouple boats in the river got blown to hell, the water from the explosions shot up in the air...

"Take cover Hermann! wait for the others to reach the bank!! they are missing our grouping point stupid bastards!!"

Gunther peaked over to see muzzle flashes in the distance, hot lead wizzed through the air,

"Where the fuck are the squad leaders!! we are sitting ducks!!"

When they reached the shore, Derc immdiately cooked a nade, and tried to throw it at a Polish bunker. However he cooked the nade for too long, and it blew in mid air, less than a meter away from him...

"AW FUCK, AHH MY EYES I CAN'T SEE AH FUCK I CAN'T SEE AHHHH!!!" Derc yelled in pain.

"Medic! Medic! we need him now!

Wiping his eyes, Johanne quickly grabbed his bag from the boat. Someone had taken his Mauser, though.
God damit - not again, he thought angrily. He lay flat against the bank, crawling forward.
Where the Hell is- he began to think, when suddenly he heard someone call for a medic. He quickly looked towards the source of the sound, and saw a soldier lying on the ground, clutching his eyes.
Shit, Derc! Forgetting stealth, he quickly sprinted towards his wounded comrade. He gripped Derc's hands, preventing him from scratching at his eyes.
"Derc, it's Johanne. Open your eyes!"

When he opened his eyes, he was crying in pain. His eyes were blow apart and his face was alreadly in a bad shape...

Johanne gasped slightly in horror. His eyes...were destroyed. There was nothing he could do. Fighting back panic, Johanne pulled out a bandage and some iodine swabs. Wiping away the blood around his eyes, he quickly bandaged them.
"You'll...you'll be okay, Derc..." Johanne stammered, as if to reassure himself more than Derc. "I need help back here!" He called behind him.

There was no one to help them, no one dared to row him back.

Then, Derc's cries stopped.

Gunther watched as soldiers were hit one after another,

"We can't stay here no more!!"

He tapped Hermann's helmet, stood up and ran forward keeping his head low..others seen this and moved,

"DON'T STOP TILL YOU HIT COVER!!" He yelled..

The hot lead wizzed all around, striking the ground, or wistiling by his head but still he moved...up ahead he seen a bunker come to life,

**Ratatatatatatatatat**

A bullet grazed Gunthers left lower leg,

"Ahh! FUCK"

He stumbled sideways, and fell on the ground but rolled out of the way of the bullets that hit the ground chasing him aside..

"Hermann! get a grenade in that bunker!"

Gunther raised his Kar98, took aim at the visual slot and fired..

**KA-POW**

"God damn rifle is no good for cover fire!"

"Derc?" Johanne whispered. "Derc, stay awake! Derc!" He tried shaking him, he even hit him across the face. "Derc! DERC! Stay conscious, for Gods sake! AND WHERE THE HELL ARE THE FUCKING STRETCHER-BEARERS?!" He shouted, before returning his attention to Derc. He wasn't moving. He wasn't even breathing. Johanne buried his head into his chest, and swore until he was breathless. He then sat there, staring at Derc's lifeless body, as if frozen.

OOC Derc is dead, right? Or is he just unconscious?

OCC: Unconscious currently, I plan to make him die. But once again im an open person, if your character is gonna do something Crazy for his already half-dead condition, then he might live, but won't serve in the Army further.

OOC Not sure how a Newbie Medic could treat something like that, so death it is.

Lukas ran in a half crouch over to Johanne. "Shit... Is that Drec? What the fuck happened to him?"

"I...don't know..." Johanne muttered, eyes gazing off into the distance. "I just heard him calling, and I came but...it was too bad. He would have been blinded...left the army..." He broke off when hsi voice started to waver. I'm just a Medic. Not a surgeon. I can't...help him...i'm just a field Medic, for God's sake!" He half-shouted, as if he was argueing with someone.

"Shit... you can't expect to save everyone."He muttered. He hung his head. "I'll be back here if I survive the battle. He deserves a burial."

Gunther looked over to see Hermann was pinned down along with afew other squad members by the bunkers machine gun emplacement,

"Here it goes.."

Gunther stood up and ran full speed towards the bunkerhis leg burned with pain, more soldiers ran after him, fear that the gunners would turn their fire on him any minute was the only thought in his mind besides clearing that bunker and helping Hermann and the others,

SUDDENLY...

The gunner shifted his fire on Gunther but it was too late, Strauss dropped below their firing ability to hit him, he was too close but three soldiers behind him were gunned down,

He lay there with his back against the bunker panting, Gunther reached his his pipe grenade that was tucked in his belt and realized he had dropped it on the first fall,

"FUCK!!"

He crawled along the base of the fortification and pulled his lugar from his pocket, as he neared the rear door an unsuspecting soldier came running out,

**POW, POW, POW**

The bunkers machine gun chattered loudly, Gunther Strauss peeked in to see two gunners and a forward radio man, he took a second to gather up some courage then came around the corner firing round after round, the radio man was hitr, the man feeding the chain was hit, then the gunner was hit right in the forehead....

The bunker went quiet...

"Ahh.."

Stauss's leg hurt causing him to lower down in the doorway, he looked and seen he was grazed and hit..the bullet went right through...

He hoped somebody somwhere could hear his call for help..

"MEDIC!!!!"

The blood from his leg was soaking his trousers....

Hermann saw Gunther go down, he knew Gunther was still alive, so he knelt down and yelled outside "Johanne, we need medical attention please, Gunther's down." He said to Gunther "I'll cover you to make sure no Polish soldier kills you."

Hermann ran in the bunker firing his MP-38, knocking down and killing the Polish soldier's, he knew he had to save Gunther, he fired at the MG gunner, killing him, and then a Polish soldier ran up to him, and attempted to hit him with the butt of his rifle, Hermann, raised what butt stock he had, and it opened a gash in the Polish soldier's chin, Hermann pulled out his Luger that his father gave him, and fired at the Polish soldier's chest killing him.

Hermann saw Gunther go down, he knew Gunther was still alive, so he knelt down and yelled outside "Johanne, we need medical attention please, Gunther's down." He said to Gunther "I'll cover you to make sure no Polish soldier kills you."


Gunther sat there looking at his wound wincing in pain, then he chuckled..

"I got those motherfuckers Hermann" He laughed..

"Uhh fuck, they me too..look at all that blood.."

His facial expression showed he was worried and in pain

"Where is the medic..?..put some pressure on it!"

He set the lugar on his lap and took out some cigerettes, as soon as he got one lit up his quivering hand put it to his mouth, in his left hand he picked the lugar back up watching the rear trying to concentrait on other things than the fact he had a hole in his leg....

Hermann applied pressure to the wound and said "I may not be a medic, but I happen to have a tourquniet to put on your leg, it may hurt, but it'll put pressure to stop the bleedinng." He took the touquinet and wrapped it around the wound and said "Remember that pact we made Gunther, I kept my part, don't you think?"

Lukas saw a Polish soldier aiming for him a bunker. He brought his rifle to bear. Suddenly, a bullet shot through his arm.It didn't come from the soldiers gun.
"Aaaaaah, fuck, sniper!" Lukas dropped to one knee. The Polish soldier was trying to shoot him close up. He took out his Luger and fired 2 shots into the soldiers chest.

Gunther winced in pain,

"You have kept up your end as i have..and we are still here"

He grinned and looked at the wound,

"I'll be fine! go..i will join you shortly, when johanne comes and fixes me..leave me, i'll be ok!"

The polish soldier who was feeding the chain into the MG groaned on the ground, Gunther looked over at him, blood was comming out of his mouth and he was badly wounded,

Gunther put another bullet in him,

"You should have died the first time.."

Hermann said to Gunther "I would leave you except, I am afraid more Polish troop's will come this way, I won't leave you for dead, I am doing something useful. I am guarding a member of my squad that's injured, and I won't leave until relived by Johanne."

"If more Polish troops come this way they will end up like them!"

He winced and let out a small noise,

"Look Hermann, i respect your loyalty and thank you brother but there might be others who need your help commrade...you see i take no shit from anyone!" he chuckled..

Gunther heard the warning for a sniper get yelled,

"Thats your cue! i will be fine!"

Strauss took a Lugar magizine out of his pocket, ejected the old one and reloaded,

"My rifles outside the bunker..it's too big for confined areas..i will be fine with this my friend!"

Expolsions,automatic, semi automatic gunfire could be heard outside, along with the sound of Stuka's diving in for the kill...

Lukas saw Hermann running out of a bunker. He yelled over.
"Hey! Get the fuck down, man!" He pointed to his arm and winced. "There's a sniper somewhere!"

Hermann went into the prone posistion near the bunker and yelled over to Lukas, "I don't know where to go, there's heavy fire everywhere!"

Hermann nodded and said to Gunther "Pal, I am going to borrow your K-98 if you don't mind, see ya." He ran out of the bunker grabbed Gunther's K-98, he ran out, and ran toward's the sound of gunfire, hoping to find some action.

Gunther nodded,

"Yes commrade! i will be alright!"

He cocked the Lugar and tapped Hermann on the shoulder,

"Go on commrade! go!" he gestured..

He could tell Hermann did nor want to leave him but he would be fine, any Polish that came his way would get shot..hopefully anyways. He watched his friend run out of the bunker towards the fighting, Johanne had to hurry up and get there because Gunther was egar to get back into the action...he hadn't tryed to stand yet but would try soon...

Hermann went into the prone posistion near the bunker and yelled over to Lukas, "I don't know where to go, there's heavy fire everywhere!"

"We need to find the fucker." He pulled a smoke grenade off his belt and took the pin out. "We can use this to get us into that bunker." He pointed to the bunker Hermann had just came from. "It'll give us some protection while looking for the sniper." He threw the grenade. "3, 2 , 1, go!"

Hermann said to Lukas as they went into the bunker, "It's only Gunther in there I think."

"Yeah, but still, it'll give us some cover from the fire."

Hermann walked in with Lukas, and Hermann and Lukas sat down and Hermann said to Gunther "We are safer in here then outside for sure, it's a crazy mess out there."

Gunther raised the lugar when he heard people approaching, he almost opened fire but seen it was Lukas,

"Jesus commrade! you could have yelled a warning..i almost shot you!"

Lukas moved in followed by Hermann,

"I was hit when i took this bunker Lukas..have you seen a medic? and are you guys pinned in here?"

Hermann said "Yeah we're pinned, if I had tried to go out far, if Lukas hadn't warned me, I'd be dead. I haven't seen Johanne, hmmm...."

Lukas lowered his head.
"Johanne is out there." He geustured outside. "Drec cooked a grenade for too long... he... it blew up just in front of him, tore his eyes up..."

Hermann groaned and said "Gloop was that him that cooked the grenade too long? I wish we had another medic."

Gunther shook his head,

"Is he still alive?"

He looked down at his blood soaked wound, the red liquid was all over his pants and the floor..the others looked slightly worried..

"It's an exit wound...they got it worse.."

He gestured towards the three dead Polish soldiers laying on the floor beside the MG and the radio...

"Help me up...i can move!"

The sound of artillary shells hitting outside shook the bunker, Gunther reached outwards to take one of their hands...

OOC: We can have an NPC medic enter and take care of Gunthers leg.or you can just take him with you...also it wasn't Gloop that got blown up, it was Derc..

Lukas looked at the radio.
"Does anyone in the squad know Polish?"
He looked at his right arm. Its was stained red. Not using that one. He grabbed Gunther's arm with his left hand and carefully lifted him up.

Domminique was lost. How had he gotten seperated from the company? He was just fighting like everyone else, then he turned to chase after some fleeing officer, then BAM, here he was, lost in some field. Ha! Field, he didn't even remember seeing any fields during the initial attack.

"Well, good job Gloop, you've really done it this time," He said to himself, "Well the plus side, if I go west I'll find Germany.... now which way is west."



ooc: I'm going to be out for a few days, so don't kill me please, my guy is MIA, not dead. Oh and don't find him till I'm back, in fact, I'll find you, or better yet you can somehow find me, after been takin prisoner by enemy forces... but only after I return.

Gunther got to his feet putting most of his weight on his good leg, he groaned and winced as he limped over the the veiwing slot of the bunker, he leaned and looked out,

"I don't know Polish...we can contact our forces using the radio on the correct channel, tell them this front observation and radio post has been taken out..it's clear for steady reinforcement!"

Gunther hobbled over to the radio and turned it up, the Polish operators were steadily chattering somthing back and fourth to one another then Gunther found a German channel...

"Go for it?..if we let them know we are through here it will save lives.."

Soon they started clearing out the bunkers, by noon the Polish have been driven out of their Fortications and the Company's orders are to defend the bridgehead before the Pontoon bridge is built and the Tanks roll over.

"Aye Commandant. Defend the pontoon bridge. It will be done."

The battle over the river was all a blur to Dreisand. He remembered firing at the polish, but no more. He only stopped when Kahl had to fetch ammunition.

For now, they were sent to where the pontoon bridge was being assembled, on the edge of the road. Here they were to keep watch for now, making sure that the Poles inevitable counter-attack failed.

Lukas stood in the bunker smoking a cigarette. His arm had been bandaged up. Mein gott, he thought, looking out the window at the corpses. At least the armors coming in. This battle shouldn't take much longer.

Hermann walked over the the radio and called on the German frequency and said "This is Hermann Karl of 1st Assault Squad, we've taken a radio/obervation bunker, and it's cleared out. We will hold it until further re-enforced over." He said then to Lukas and Gunther "We should probably close the door, it's getting a little chilly in here, and plus for our safety."

"Mabye. What if a Pole throws a grenade in? That won't be healthy."

Hermann walked over and closed the door and locked it and said, other then that tiny window, now a Pole can't throw one in, Luka's you can keep watch and make sure that they don't come near, I'll man this MG posistion." He sat down and pointed the MG towards the door and grinned at Gunther and said "If any Pole's attempt to break in, and try to harm you, they are going to get a body full of lead if they try."

Gunther stood there leaning on the wall,

"I was goingf to throw a grenade in here but dropped it when i got wounded causing me to creep around with my pistol to get the fire off the others...it was pure luck..

He looked out at the bodys that lay scattered about,

"I say we move to the bridge...we are of no use here..."

Then a radio message over the German channel stated the Polish had been drivin from their defences, Gunthers jaw dropped then he spoke..

"We can't miss this..we are driving them back! lets go!!"
