Each of the god's on Olympus wants it for themselves and the titans want it. Each hero will hero will be seeking the blade for one of the gods, for the titans, or for themselves. The Blade is located on an island in the Mediterranean, surrounded by monsters and protected by ancient traps.

its not really a system

it takes characters and concepts from Greek mythology and twists them slightly so they can fit in to one cohesive story

in response to the other guy
you can be any hero you want
you can make a new one or take one
once i get enough people interested i'll step up a character sheet

I bagsy... hmmm, damnit, too many cool greek heroes, I would choose Achilles, Ajax, Perseus or somebody like them, Herakles is to powerful to count as a hero, especially since he becomes a full god. So the heroes can come from completely different time zones right?

you can call heroes, but you can also make your own in keeping with the greek style.

I'll probably make Herakles an npc.

What is the correct spelling, Hercules or Herakles?

Herakles. Hercules was his name to the Romans.

Name: Kratos Alexandros
Parents: Spartan Noblewoman and Zeus (in the form of a wandering warrior)
Race: Half Human - Half God
Patron God: Zeus
Godly gifts: Can control powers of thunder and lightning, super strength, Far seeing sight, Great Speed
Strengths: Skilled Warrior even without his powers, Communicates with animals, Fights well in nearly any terrain
Weakness: Does not know of his "special abilities" so he cannot use them just yet. He has mortal weakness's and does not know he is able to overcome them.
Physical Description/Appeance: Blonde hair, Blue eyes, Tan skin, 5'5", wears animal furs for clothes, appears scrawny in bare skin
Powers/Speciality: Excellent Fighter and has hidden Half-God powers but does not know of them yet
Weapons: Sword, Bow and arrows, Net
Occupation: Wandering Warrior
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Bio:
Kratos was abandoned from the day of his birth, being deemed as unfit to be in the military of Sparta. As a result, he was left in the mountains where if he would not die of starvation, the animals around him would satisfy their hunger with young Kratos. No one knows who his father was and his mother is said to no longer be living.

In his years abandoned in the mountains, he was raised by the ancient bear Gerasimos, who lived through the Golden Age of Humanity. It was with this bear that Kratos grew into a hunter and eventually became a warrior.

Kratos now wanders the world obtaining money from different people while at the same time trying to help whoever he thinks needs it. The day he learns of the Legendary Blade of Olympus though, is a matter that can only be determined by what he thinks of it.

Hidden Past: Zeus knew there would soon be a competition among mortals to claim the Blade of Olympus. If any of them were to succeed though, he would make sure that at least on of them would truly remain loyal to him. As a result he decided to "interact with his creation" again like he did many times before to give rise to a new hero. But he had to make certain that no one would attempt to kill Kratos for being one of the heros searching for the Blade. He did this by giving Kratos a decieving look of a mortal who does not appear to be fit for battle.

Reason of seeking the Blade of Olympus:
The day he learns of the Blade of Olympus, he desires to use it to his own ends. He wishes to use its power to unite Sparta under his rule and begin the new era of a Spartan Empire.

Name: Theseus
Parents (usually one is a god): King Aegeus of Athens and his Queen.
Patron God: Athena, Herakles
Godly gifts: An unbreakable sword and shield (gifts from his patron godess)
Strengths: Highly intelligent, strong (for a mortal)
Weaknesses: He is mortal. He is also reckless, and will undertake the most dangerous tasks in an effort to prove himself.
Reason for seeking the blade: seeking it for Athena
Bio: Theseus was the sone of the King of Athens, but was raised in his mother's city, unaware of his heritage. Aegeus had left a sword and a pair of sandals under a rock for his son to claim as his birthright when Theseus was strong enough to move the rock. This Theseus did when he was 16. Coming the long distance to Athens on foot, because he felt sailing the distance (much shorter) was not a worthy test of his strength, Theseus defeated a band of thieves that had been waylaying travellers. When he arrived in Athens, his father did not know him, but had heard of a man who was gaining poularity because of his defeat of the bandits. His step-mother, Medea recognized him and tried to poison him before his identity could be revealed. Fortunately, Aegeus was shown the sword before Theseus could be poisoned, and Medea fled for her life, just as she had from Corinth. Some years earlier, Athens, having lost a war against Crete, was made in tribute to offer annually seven young men and seven young women as sacrifices to the Minotaur. Theseus volunteered to be a sacrifice, but really intended to kill the Minotaur. When he arrived in Crete, he was seen by Ariadne, daughter of King Minos of Crete, and she fell in love with him. Ariadne told Theseus that she would help him escape from the Labyrinth if he promised to marry her. She gave him a ball of twine that he could use to find his way out. Ariadne, of course, did not know that Theseus intended to kill the Minotaur, but when he emerged victorious she left Crete with him nontheless. They landed on the island of Naxos, where Ariadne fell sick. Theseus left to find a cure for her, but a storm raised by Poseidon (who never did like the Athenians much) blew him off track, and by the time he returned, Ariadne had died. Theseus then went on many adventures, including sailing with Jason's Argonauts, where he befriended Herakles. Later, when Herakles' life turned tragic, only Theseus stood by him. At last Theseus returned home, but he forgot a promise he had made to his father: that if he returned unharmed, his ship would fly white sails, if he had died it would fly black sails. When Aegeus saw the ship return flying black sails, he cast himself into the sea in his grief. That sea was named the Aegean Sea in his memory. As King of Athens, Theseus freed his country from the Centaurs who had been terrorizing the countryside. This eventually led Theseus to the Underworld, when he decided to help his friend Pirithous kidnap the Godess Persephone; needless to say that plan didn't succeed, and Theseus barely escaped. He offered a final refuge to Oedipus, who had been driven out of everywhere else. He then fought in the Trojan War, although he had tried to get out of service by pretending to be insane. Athena has chosen Theseus, as king of her favorite city, to go on this quest.

Just say you'll take Theseus, you didn't need all that I think Odysseus was the one who pretended to be insane, not Theseus.

It depends on what source you read. The Greek myths contradicted each other a lot. My source quotes Homer as having Theseus at Troy, and another myth which credits him with founding Athenian democracy (actually, it was Solon that founded democracy).

BTW, in an attempt to get out of going to Troy, Achilles tried to dress in drag.

Name: Aquious
Parents The Old Man Of The Sea and the salmon fishers daughter
Patron God: Artimus
looks: black hair, eyes as dark as can be, tan skin and swimmers build
inate power: can breath water
God given power: controle of animals (no fish and only one bird though the howk)
Strengths: can't drown, good with dirk, spear, trident and net but best with net and spear, can controle most animals.
Weaknesses: he has all the weaknesses of normal people(with the exeption of being involnerabule to drowning) also he is only a slitly above average swimmer (which is a problem when he visits dady) slite infieriority complex
Reason for seeking the blade: rais the fame and there for power for his father.
Bio: Aquarious was born of an old sea titan (now only in charge of rivers and streems) and the daughter of a salmon fisher who caught salmon in one of the titans streems. his mother however was a patron of Artimus and since gods aren't very good parents Aquarious grew up praying to Artimus, (she seeing aqueriouse's potential as the son of a titan gave him special powers and attention) however his father did makshure that the fish were always catching for him and that the family was never hert wile sailing his waters. One day, The Old Man, calls for Aquarious , who comes to talk to him. The old titan told Aqueous about his plite, that he had once been the master of all sees and waters. but now he just had the lakes and streems. he explaned that as less people prade to him the less and less power he will have. after explaining this he that if he could rase the prair to titan ratio a bit it would work out very well. finaly he tells Aquious about the sword of Olimpus. he tells him that he can even keep the sword if he wants to as long as he tells people abut it.

No Problem. He's going to start out as a simple mortal and will learn of his powers as his character develops.

For start up numbers, I think that maybe 2more would be a good start up number if you don't think you have enough already. I would reccomend leaving this open though so that people who gain interest later can join.

this is fine. You can work with the titans. Even in the stories their not really evil, just Zeus' opposition.

As for people who want to be bad guys, the monsters and traps are the enemies in the story, but even the normal heroes will be at odds with each other as only one can claim the blade.

Name: Phaethius
Parents: Helios and a Macedonian noble
Patron God: Hepshastus
Appearance: 6'9"(very tall considering the average height is much higher now), 125 Kg, Broad shoulders, light brown hair, golden skin, slightly orangy borwn eyes
Godly gifts: Eyes that can see past obstacles (very useful when around women), gains in strength substancially when more sunny, can create a small flame,
Strengths: Very strong, skilled with his mace, can throw javelins very well,
Weaknesses: becomes only the stength of a normal man of his stature when in nightime (which is still a lot), slightly more susceptable to cold than average
Weapons: Large heavy club
Occupation: Blacksmith
Age: 26
Bio: Phaethius was raised in Macedonia and trained by many skilled warriors, but he never seemed to like fighting for an army and did not fit in with the macedonians, so he travelled to Greece in a search of a new life. On the way he met Hephastus in the guise of a crippled old warrior. Hephastus taught him how to form weapons and armour from the raw earth which were as strong as had they been from refined bronze. In return Hephastus asked of Phaethius to reteive a blade, which, with his work, would become the greatest weapon of all time. Phaethius prefers his giant club to any sword, and his is perfectly capable of proving its worth, he has hit a wooden sheild of an enemy so that it splintered and pierced the mans heart before leaving through the back end of a bronze breastplate.

Reason for seeking the blade: He seeks it not for Hephastus but simply for the adventure, he has considered breaking it so none can use its power, starting a titan rebellion or simply to keep it as a trophy.

Ares used him to ensure the death of as many mortals as possible. In reward for his loyal service Kelkas was transformed by Ares into a handsome human man. No longer the one eyed giant, he is now a human looking man but he still posses the strength of a cyclops, and with his strength comes the extreme ability to take damage. But he is still very much mortal. He seeks the blade to turn it over to Ares in order to be given immortality to get on the level of Herakles.

your charicter is ACCEPTED

with your responses in mind I here by put my hat in the GM ring and would love all the help I can get. but I must ask that all players be able to forgive some occasional spelling mistakes. If there are no objections the adventure will start within the next week (that is the amount of time I will wait before I assume that there are no objections)
