((OOC: You may remember a thread from a while back called the "Invasion of the Disputed Territories", well this is loosely based on the fact that a large portion of Free Shepmagan's military was stranded in part of a nation that had just collapsed. I'm playing it off that they and the natives formed a government of their own, one that won't submit to Free Shepmagan rule. Well I figured it's time I bring them out. I won't infringe on any claims of the country that happened after the thread was over, so for all intents and purposes assume this is a uncontested island chain that's located somewhere in the south pacific.))
President Laura Koffman rubbed her temples and sighed. "General Mansfield, I understand that you feel betrayed, but we have to open diplomatic ties with them. Many of the people in our nation can trace their lineage back to the Confederacy, you yourself were born there for Goddess sake!" The graying man across the table from her frowned. "They've turned their back on everything they used to stand for!" "Still," The woman replied softly, "they are our sisters, our mothers, our fathers. We must put our idealogical differences aside and try to make peace."
The general sighed and leaned back in the chair. "I suppose you're right. Fine then, if the senate approves..." "They already have." "Then send the message."

Regardless, we should like to offer you a plot of land to build an embassy on,
and hope you will return the offer. Due to the rather entwined nature of our
populations, we suggest a transparent immigration policy We anxiously await
your response.
