Eurasian Government Demands Removal of Foreign Military Bases

Riots erupted today around major Sovereign League military bases, prompting the government to demand that foreign military personnel leave Eurasia.

"This is the time not just for this Government–or, indeed, for this Prime Minister—but for this House to give a lead: to show that we will stand up for what we know to be right; to show that we will confront those who trample upon Eurasian sovereignty," Prime Minister Sir Phillip Sinclair said before Parliament as he called for the removal of SL bases.

Thousands of protestors gathered in front of Whyatican bases near Kensington, bearing signs that read "Egredaya Instare!", or, in English, "Leave Now!"

There has been no response from Sovereign League governments.

The perimeter was held tight, as the threat of rioting Eurasians was quite high today. The Imperial Military had held a small presence in Eurasia since the recent incidents, and had planned on keeping it that way for some time. The solitary Marine division which remained garrisoned at Terrence was pulling double-duty to cover the grounds effectively, patrols running around the clock.

General Weatherby slammed his fist down on his oak desk, spilling coffee in a small radius around the coaster which held his mug.

"We're not leaving this fucking base! It wasn't all that long ago that shit went down here, and it will probably happen again!"
"Cravna shares your sentiments, sir, but it doesn't look like the Eurasians are willing to negotiate. They'll try to pull some diplomatic magic, but they highly doubt anything."

Terrence had almost become a second home for Weatherby, as he had been stationed there for quite some time, ever since he was put in command of the theatre of operations during the initial invasion so long ago.

"God damnit... We'll have to figure something out. In the meantime, keep the Abaddons and the Banshees on full alert, and I want our Marine garrison at full status at all hours of the day. I don't trust these people in the least bit."

As the door to his office shut, Weatherby plopped down into his chair, and swore to himself when he noticed he had spilled coffee on his divorce papers.

Several of the military bases and the fleet nearby went on alert, nothing special really, just a few more stealthy bombers flying unnoticeably over the skies.

Several thousands troops were prepared to be sent over the ocean should fighting break out.

In Eurasia proper security went up one phase-level, nothing major.

The Libertarian Empire, therefore, is not included in the list of evicted nations, apparently. As it never was, is not, and never will be a member of the Sovereign League, the Libertarian Empire was a third-party member of the original coalition. The Empire, therefore, sees no inclination to move from Terrence Air Force Base, the only current holding of the Empire. Cravanian forces have only ventured from the base while on leave, and even then have been given the proper papers to do so. As a fellow member of GASN, the Libertarian Empire sees only positive aspects of keeping a small garrison as is currently stationed in Eurasia.

I haven't managed to get in alot of aggressive diplomacy lately, so I figured I could do some now.

The Grand Imperium of Whyatica
The Grand Imperium, as already stated by the Armed Capitalist Republic, is no longer a member of the Sovereign League. We are also unappreciative of a sudden demand to vacate, as it has been Whyatican, Skyian, and Cravanian forces that have guaranteed the continued sovereignty of Sir Phillip Sinclair's government. In fact, our bases and servicemen have not broken any Eurasian laws, and only venture from the bases with proper permission and paperwork done with the Eurasian government. We see no definitive need for the Coalition military to vacate. There are only benefits to the Eurasian government in increased security and the economic increase of having foreign servicemen purchasing goods in the Eurasian marketplace.

His Majesty's government warns the Eurasia that the bases are there by legal obligation following the defeat in the war and the attempted uprisings. The Clandonian contingent has been reduced by nearly seventy five percent in recent years with only two thousand personal deployed to man the Royal Clandonian Air Force base at Kensington.

If there is an attempt by Eurasian military forces to force out Clandonian or Sovereign League allies then there will be severe consequences. The foreign deployments act as a safeguard to Eurasia and inject money into the local economy.

The small air force base had stood for several years now enforcing the restrictions put on the Eurasians since their defeat in the war and the various uprisings against the coalition. Only two thousand Clandonian's remained, a small number compared to the forty thousand that were once based there. All that remained now was the 16th Expeditionary Wing, a shadow of the former Clandonian Forces Eurasia. Group Captain Patrick Johnson had seen the tensions rise in the local community over the weekend Clandonian service personal on leave had reported an icy reception, many had returned back to base early preferring their lodgings to some bar or pub in the city.

The forty parked up F-36 Gladius fighter-bomber aircraft gleamed in the sun, ground crews were servicing the oil pumps, a common defect on some of the earlier models. KENSINGTON - All military forces were placed on full military readiness today as they mobilised and were placed in strategic positions around all Whyatican, Silver Skyian, and Sovereign League installations within the Eurasian landmass, including embassies and military bases.

The Parliament also passed legislation preventing Whyatican, Silver Skyian, and Sovereign League nationals from entering Eurasian territory without explicit written authorization from HM Government, which would be granted on a case-by-case basis. Furthermore, oil embargoes have been levied against those nations, and a proposal to cut off all economic trade is currently being debated.

The Grand Monarchy finds this attempt to evict legitimate military bases and personnel from Eurasia to be laughable. These bases were installed wth the permission of the Eurasian government, and were the result of a conflict that Eurasia started and lost. However, it is even more amusing when it is considered that between the Sovereign League nations of Whyatica, Praetonia and several others, a large portion of the Eurasian economy is owned and controlled by the League itself.

Should this ridiculous attempt continue for any longer, the Grand Monarchy would not be at all surprised to see the Eurasian economy fall into the deepest recession on record for the country. The results of such an event would be devestating; as such, we surge the Eurasian government to give up this ridiculous facade.

Any attack on Whyatican military or commercial assets will result in the destruction of the Eurasian government.

Resistance is futile? What is this, a bad rerun of an old show? Could you not come up with something more effective?

Economic embargoes with levied by BL and Hataria will most likely have no effect, as we generally do not by high priced oil and other commodities from Eurasia, and in fact, WE have an embargo on Hataria goods steming back a long ways. Cutting trade with Sovereign League nations/TSS/Whyatica would be economic suicide for the Eurasian Governmeny, as the majority of Eurasian Businesses are owned by banks, businesses and individuals which call SL/TSS/Whyatica home.

I have ordered the military forces surrounded by Eurasian soil to hold fast their positions and use deadly force if attacked first. They will only fire back if attacked first. I have also ordered the deployment of troops from Jupiter Colony south of Eurasia to Eurasia if this becomes violent.

Businesses owned by We Buy It Inc. and other Skyian owned businesses began withdrawing from Eurasian en masse.

They took everything, like a plague of locust nothing of these businesses was left standing, everything, even what was bolted down was taken, machines, tools, inventory, finished raw goods, raw material, money, everything, even in some cases the buildings themselves were taken when possible, bunkers were closed off and scheduled for demolition at the start of hostilities, only a few token forces of security troops were kept around.

They even tried to take the workforce. Messages went out to workers that they would be paid generous sums of money to move with the company, and that they would get raises and keep their jobs if they did so.

In the monetary sector, skyian banks closed down, hoping to get out before they lost money from the devauled currency, they didn't lose much as they generally only had Pandora Gems and Common Credits, choosing to get rid of Whyatican Credits ASAP. Banks defaulted on loans, they wanted currency with value, the now unvalued Eurasian Currency would be of no help to the loaners, many people lost everything in one fell swoop.

Socialism will only be effective when the socialist have money.

The bases would be uneffected by the cutting of utlities, as they had their own power generation, santitation, and water facilities, and infact, many utlities were skyian owned.

We remain highly amused at the hypocrisy of the Soveriegn League and their appalling actions, though we will refrain from commenting specifically on what has happened.

The Freekish government would like to remind Eurasia that The Silver Sky and Whyatica are no longer affiliated with the menace known as the Sovereign League, and we believe that instead of forcing them out that your government should establish formal relations. Perhaps deals can be hammered out and an agreement bartered over, because through our experience with said two nations, we know them to be reasonable and honorable.

However, due to The Silver Sky's membership within the New Alliance and Treaty Organization, we feel the need to protect our ally's interests in the region until a lasting peace can be achieved. Therefore, we invoke our powers as First Director of NATO, and in doing so we have ordered 25,000 Sentinels from Taskforce Dreadfire, 16th Division to deploy to all TSS installations throughout Eurasia to ensure the safety of their personnel there.

By order of the Clandonian Eurasian Occupation Act of 2006 all joint Clandonian-Eurasian business assets are to be reposed by the Crown due to the Eurasian aggression and the voiding of any past treaties. Clandonian military forces will stand their ground with reinforcements from the 4th Air Assault Division preparing to leave in the next twelve hours to reinforce the Royal Clandonian Air Force base at Kensington. In addition to this passive threat from Eurasia a Royal Clandonian Naval Fast Battleship Squadron has been diverted to proceed to Eurasian waters should the need arise for naval support.

The Fourth Battle Fleet has put to sea from Shrewshire Naval Station in response to a Eurasian statement declaring that oil exports to Praetonia would be embargoed. Imperial Oil & Gas - the Praetonian firm that owns more than two-thirds of Eurasia's oil reserves - sent a written appeal to His Majesty the King shortly after the announcement was made, requesting that the state move to safeguard the company's property and protect oil tankers shipping Eurasian oil to Praetonia and the outside world.

Speaking at the Shrewshire Naval Station as the fleet departed, the Prime Minister warned Eurasia that it was "pushing Praetonia towards war" by "threatening the lawful property of Praetonian Subjects and their right to trade freely". He also said that he hoped the naval deployment would "serve to remind Eurasia that her present state of prosperity and independence is conditional on its observance of the common code of decency between states."

The fleet, which consists of more than five hundred vessels and is headed by two King George IV-class six million tonne battleships, is expected to be able to overpower any force the Eurasians could possibly array against it, but fears are growing that the Eurasian government may try to push ahead with its present policies despite international pressure out of fear that its increasingly angry and violent citizenry may seek an overthrow.

The Prime Minister has so far expressed "an intention to act in whatever ways are necessary" to secure the safe passage of tankers from Imperial Oil & Gas oil fields, and it is thought that a fleet engagement may prove necessary in order to deter further Eurasian aggression against Praetonian property in the country.

"What's going on?" the Captain of IWNS Union said, looking rather confused in his command chair as he looked at Binglybert. The yelling of a junior officer on the bridge to another one briefly drowned out his words, and Binglybert yelled at them to "shut the hell up", and he told the Captain, "The Eurasians are trying to kick us out, and they've informed the Clandonians that any fleet in 'their waters' is an act of war. So I'll give them an 'act of war' straight up their ass, Captain, and I hope you have no objections to this."

The Captain was rather startled by this fact, and he didn't say anything to the contrary, merely yelling at a junior officer to get him a report of the defense readiness of his ship, and waiting for Binglybert to chew him out for something.

The Whyatican fleet rapidly prepared to leave dock, under the cover of ground-based air power, artillery, and anti-air batteries, and pulled into open water, but still within range of help from the mainland. Technically the Whyaticans were committing an act of war now, and the Admiral gambled that the Eurasians would not just be stupid enough to attack them. Overhead, four SuC-1 cargo carriers carried an entire infantry division worth of men and gear, escorted by nine SuF-8 'Phoenix' air superiority fighters. Well behind them came a bomber wing of five stealthy 'Sariel' bombers that the Eurasians would be unable to detect on their best days.

Whyatican business interests had to be protected, and the Whyatican sovereign territory would not be breached by the Eurasians, unless they wished to incur serious consequences...

Eurasian Prime Minister Sir Phillip Sinclair continues to push forward in his bid to reclaim territory.

Earlier this week, the Eurasian PM made a bold move, demanding the return of territory seized by various nations during the Eurasian Wars. To Mr Sinclair's chagrin, he was met with little more than scoffs and various chuckles. The dispute continually escalates, with trade embargoes sprouting up and Prætonia deploying a small armada of naval vessels to protect Prætonian-owned oil fields. What next?

"Whatever gains Eurasia what is rightfully hers," Mr Sinclair answers. But his cryptic reply dissatisfies many, and he has yet to rule military action out of the question. As for the next step, Foreign Minister Ms Kelsey Birhanu states, "We intend to engage in diplomatic talks, and we hope, with the nation of Automagfreek mediating these talks, that an agreement can be reached."

It would seem you have stirred a hornets nest. We fully inderstand your wish to assert your own sovereignty and reclaim the land taken from you by occupation forces. It would seem however you have several obstacles. Firstly, those occupying powers have a stranglehold on your economy, and will want to protect that investment with force if necassary. Secondly, as we understand the situation the areas occupied by foreign troops were actually transferred to their soveriegnty under your peace treaty. Firstly, call a conference and accept the mediation of Minister Hatman from Automagfreek. Whilst not our favorite person, he has no love for your opponents and could be trusted to act fairly.

Secondly, declare the nationalisation of those industries controlled by your opponents. These industries are based in your sovereign territory and they have no right to deny you. Offer them financial recompense of course, which we (along with others I suspect) would be willing to assisst you with. By removing their commercial interests you remove one of their excuses for occupying you. Thirdly, offer your opponents a phased withdrawal of military forces in return for a non-aggression treaty, guarenteed by Automagfreek if they are agreeable. This pact also removes their further excuses of "keeping an eye on you". However, Lord Dreadfire may have a price to pay, and that decision is yours over whether it is worth it. Ollieland would gladly act as a guarentor, but our status is not high enough within the international community to enable us to perform such a function. Ollieland would gladly attend and assisst you in any negotiations, and we stand by our offer of military assisstance as a last resort.

Captain Edward "Lancer" Barnett landed his F-28A Black Eagle fighter on the tarmac of Terrence Air Force Base as he quickly taxied off to allow for the aircraft of his squadron to follow suit, their fuel running low even with the tanker refills en route to the theatre. Massive C-5G Galaxy II and C-181A Starlifter II transports had already arrived hours earlier to provide the necessary ground support for the coming aircraft. With an hour, the first duties of Captain Barnett and the eleven other F-28A fighters was to establish the usual combat air patrols along the designated orbit around the Terrence airbase, armed to the teeth with a large collection of air-to-air weapons, they were prepared to defend themselves and their own against the coming Sovereign League aggression as their orders were to only counterattack if engaged or a contact made a threatening posture towards any Aequatian or allied assets.

Businesses owned by We Buy It Inc. and other Skyian owned businesses began withdrawing from Eurasian en masse.

They took everything, like a plague of locust nothing of these businesses was left standing, everything, even what was bolted down was taken, machines, tools, inventory, finished raw goods, raw material, money, everything, even in some cases the buildings themselves were taken when possible, bunkers were closed off and scheduled for demolition at the start of hostilities, only a few token forces of security troops were kept around.

They even tried to take the workforce. Messages went out to workers that they would be paid generous sums of money to move with the company, and that they would get raises and keep their jobs if they did so.

In the monetary sector, skyian banks closed down, hoping to get out before they lost money from the devauled currency, they didn't lose much as they generally only had Pandora Gems and Common Credits, choosing to get rid of Whyatican Credits ASAP. Banks defaulted on loans, they wanted currency with value, the now unvalued Eurasian Currency would be of no help to the loaners, many people lost everything in one fell swoop.

His Majesty does not recognise the legitimacy of the astonishing act of mass theft that has been desperately perpetrated by the Eurasian government. These terms are agreeable, and we'll abide by them and Eurasian Law.

And with that, it was done, several state-owned and private-owned corporations in the World Soviet Party (the most important being Soviet Arms Corporation, Wood Works Inc., State Steel Works and Übersoft Corp.) which had run out of workers (as TWSP has an unemployment ratio of 0%) and space for new factories, started investing in the Eurasian market and buying lands to develop into low-contamination, high-production manufacture centers. The Eurasian goverment was assured that all and any workers needed for these new buildings would be hired exclusively from the populace of Eurasia.

Many of you sitting here today will no doubt be personally connected to the goings-on in Eurasia. No doubt many of you own or reprsent companies whose property hangs by a knife-edge on the caprice of an unstable and irrational government which has clearly stated its intention to use your livelihood and those of your shareholders as a bargaining chip to try to escape honouring a treaty which they freely signed.

There are some in Praetonia, although I am sure none in this hall, and certainly none who own shares in any of the companies whose property stands to be seized, who believe that the Eurasian Prime Minister is right when he appeals to the "rule of law" and "rights of the people". Do not we, afterall, stake our good name and the superiority of our System over those of the tyrannical states on our dutiful devotion to these sound principles? What strikes me as most ludicrous about this situation is that Eurasia, while appealing to noble ideals, assumes the character of a theif who, seeing that his intended target will not willingly hand over his wallet, instead draws a knife to his throat, and offers to trade his money for his life. No doubt these people who today say Eurasia is justified would argue that the thief's deal is all fair and above board.

Eurasia speaks of rights.

What right does a man have to come into my home, and take my possessions? Does it make the slightest difference if, instead of one man, a whole mob of people assembles at my front door, demanding I hand over my property? They speak of the rule of law. Yet the rule of law is nothing without just laws to rule. In Praetonia, the government may not simply seize the property of private individuals and take it for itself. We defend our rule of law as the guardian of our lawful rights - and those rights include the right to defence against theft and assault, not their enshrining in statute. Eurasia is appealing to the strength of values designed to protect individuals from the very crimes they are perpetrating.

What value is an investment, by anyone, into the Eurasian economy, if the safety of its returns depends entirely on the whim of the government and the object of its political desires at some future point in time - something which is impossible to accurately predict. What does this move hold for the future of the Eurasian people, except one starved of any investment or jobs from any foreign power, save a tiny clique of those which presently send their government weapons or money? Is this new Eurasia better than the old? Surely it is not. Is the sacrifice worth the potential of removing bases which, in their long existance, have posed no threat or inconvenience to the Eurasian people?

Ultimately, we are, as a nation, faced with a choice - we can bow down to the theives and blackmailers, or we can stand against them. We can work to secure a better future for the people of Eurasia, or we can stand idly by as their government creates a worse one, at our expense. We can stand for the true rights of individuals, and the rule of the law that protects them, or we can accept the Eurasian government's twisted variant.

This government does not wish any harm upon the Eurasian people. If it comes to war, it will be fought judiciously and as bloodlessly as possible, targetting the government and not the people who labour under it, but it is my sincere hope that war will not prove necessary, and that Eurasia will abandon its hopeless position poised to fight an unwinnable war with the Crown Commonwealth, for the sake of us all.

"Gents, the commies are coming for us!" a bank manager said, getting the attention of every employee of the bank. Mostly Whyaticans were employed here, which made it much more safe to say that.

"The Eurasian government, in it's misguided conflict with the Whyatican government, is nationalizing all businesses owned by Whyatican interests. We're here to foil that today. Every piece of paper in this office needs to be shredded. Every single Credit in this bank is to be sent back to Whyatica. The commies will never gain any benefits from stealing Whyatican property." the manager said, and, to demonstrate, he dumped a thick manila folder into a huge shredder. "Get to it. Guards! Stand by the doors, prevent the bank from opening today."

Six burly security guards with large guns took positions by the door, sealing it and waiting for a possible response. The dozens of clerks, tellers, computer operators, and other employees got to it - shredding paper, wiring money back to Whyatica, filling their pockets with cash and loading briefcases filled with it. Once they were done with the computers, a particularly zealous operator yanked out the hard drive from his computer and smashed it with a nearby blunt object, preventing even the government from retrieving any information from it's shards. A waiting transport helicopter in the bank's helipad was also filled with computers and nearly everything they couldn't reasonably smash. As this bank's employees finished their rather fun task, they exited the bank through the back exit and entered the helicopter, which was on it's way to the Whyatican army base, where it would be protected from Eurasian reprisals.

A similar scene was being repeated in every other Whyatican majority-owned bank. Without the banking system and currency to back it up, no amount of nationalisation could pull it out of an immediate economic recession.

It has come to our attention that Leafanistani property may be seized. Though eminent domain exercised by other nations and by our own may be used as a precedence for this decision, we ask the government of Eurasia not to act to rashly and 'expedite' the transition to democratic socialism.

We, along with the General Resources Conglomerate, ask that you not seize Leafanistani property or Sovereign League property or any foreign nation's property. It is simply unfair to the common worker, who finds himself evicted because of mob rule. Surely as a socialist government you understand that this is just not for the multinational corporation (who deserve representation too), but for the small business owner, and the simple working class man who happens to be from a foreign country.

We have no conflict with Eurasia, however if trends continue we may find ourselves supporting our Skyian allies, and our Sovereign League allies.

However, we take exception to the 'negotiation table' excuse the Eurasians offer. As civilized peoples we have to lay down our arms, or in this case, our pitchforks and torches, not threaten someone's property and then begin negotiations when no one is threatening anyone. It is good to find the United Kingdom acting rationally.

Scores of mammoth cargo planes flew over the friendly bases occupied by The Silver Sky, their payloads consisting of the 16th Division from Lord Dreadfire's personal forces. Having received confirmation from Skyian officials as to where the troops would be needed, the doors aboard the giant birds opened slowly and allowed the units inside to spill forth.

A massive cloud of parachutes dominated the area over Skyian bases in Waltham, Argyll, and Winchester, where each would be receiving 5,000 Sentinels to bolster defenses there. 10,000 would be landing at the Skyian port base and serve as its primary protection should the situation in Eurasia turn south, which was still an uncertainty.

Once on the ground, the Sentinels broke off into their battalions and began establishing defensive perimeters around each installation. Thousands of sandbags were filled and observation posts constructed, but unfortunately the Sentinel detachments were without heavy support. Knowing that their objective was to protect Skyian territory at all costs, they would fight to the death alongside their NATO ally, or die protecting them in case they decided to withdraw to safety.

Sentiment among the Sentinel officers was that Sovereign League troops moving freely about Skyian bases would be a bad idea, and as a result Skyian commanders were notified that it would be for the best if the two elements did not mix in any way, shape, or form.

As they continued preparing themselves in case of an assault from any side, Freekish intelligence monitored the situation via eyes in the heavens, intercepted communications, and diplomats who were keeping tabs on developments. All the Sentinels could do now is wait.

The plan was quite simple - hyperinflate the Eurasian currency and destroy their economy, as a lesson not to screw with the Whyatican Empire. Maxing out the currency production rate would send the value of the Eurasian currency careening down, making life that much more difficult for the middle and working class, who would pressure their government to give into the Whyaticans to end the crisis. Well, in theory - in practice, it probably wouldn't go like that, but the mint manager didn't care, nor did the bank manger who looted his bank and was now flying away. They weren't the ones that would be boned in the end..

Near Westminster, Eurasia

An armoured Rolls-Royce sped along the A18, led by five police vehicles with blaring klaxons and a number of Jeeps with mounted machine guns.

Sir Phillip Sinclair himself sat in the Rolls-Royce, leafing through a policy brief. He felt the car turn as it left the arteriaroute and felt it slow as it approached the military base. The police veered away, and the Jeeps waited a comfortable distance behind the vehicle, which sat at the gates of the installation, waiting to be let in.

The gates of Ft. Bender opened, and two Whyatican armoured cars escorted Sinclair to a bulding surrounded by anti-air batteries, with dozens of soldiers on alert for something fishy. General Raj-Singh of the original war, looking far older than when the occupation began, sat inside the building, with a hard look on his face that said "I'm not handing anything over." The Praetonian and Skyian observers were to his right and left, and the Leafanistani observer, although not especially welcomed, would show up when they felt like showing up, whether the negotiations had begun or not. The room was not very well decorated, but it didn't need to be - nobody expected it to last very long, or be especially deep.

Sinclair walked into the room, escorted by his guards, who were immediately dismissed. General Singh said, "Welcome, Mr. President. I assume you won't waste my time, here..."

Imperial Regent Azrael the Advocate has volunteered to send his Deathklaat, who serves as his second in command, by the name of Alerick Fleshgrinder. He will be arriving at the meeting shortly, though he is there almost exclusively as an observer.

A small plane was approaching. It was a Learjet 35 in Leafanistani colors. Inside was a colonel, Colonel Maxwell Turpin, his father Police Commander Daniel Turpin was a Civil War hero when he managed to restart a T-34/85 used as a memorial vehicle in a museum and smashed through an enemy artillery position that was shelling a refugee camp. He, at the age of 14 watched his father's vehicle explode when it crushed a truck carrying ammunition. He has never spoken a word since then.

Yet his amazing ability to command (despite using sign language), and his father's position meant that he was quickly promoted in the military. However, because of this muteness, he was assigned to diplomatic roles and rear line roles, much like this mission. He was accompanied by 5 Republican Guards, each one in dress uniform, which mean a ceremonial cape.

With him was Lady Tara Meyer with the General Resources Conglomerate and the Romefeller Foundation. A member of royalty in what was once the Kingdom of Saints which was now the majority of southwestern Leafanistan, her Kingdom was destroyed before she was born by Soviet Confederation Forces and absorbed by Leafanistan after liberation. As a gesture of kindness, they were allowed to keep their titles and castles, provided they did not keep serfs. She was accompanied by a single body guard in a black tactical vest, privately hired from Tactical Solutions Inc. which had been bought out for its bodyguards, he carried an M9 Berreta, and a MP5K.

The situation in Eurasia has puzzled diplomats at the Foreign Office, the erratic behaviour of the Eurasian government as well as involvement from the Sovereign League governments and the tyranny of Automagfreek has been described as a 'powder keg'. Clandonian military forces last night deployed to Eurasia to reinforce the Clandonian base at Kensington with the 16th Air Assault Division, twenty thousand personal with light armour and artillery deigned for rapid warfare and emergency deployments...

The TV with the news on was in the operations room as another aircraft landed bringing more troops in as the smiling faces of young Clandonian soldiers appeared out of the back of a C-17 Globemaster, eager for some action and to be heroes to their country. Stryker IFV's and Achzarit APC's were being unloaded and prepared for possible use, crews testing the engines and automated weapon mounts after the long flight. Group Captain Patrick Johnson was watching the news briefing in the officers mess.

"AMF forces, bloody hell quite a right old mix here!" Spoke up one officer as the coverage went onto another story.

"The Praetonians have sent an entire Battle Fleet, five hundred vessels and some of those new King Georges IV's." Spoke a navy fleet air arm pilot as he flicked through the Praetonian Herald.

"Indeed, a rather interesting affair."

The door opened with an army officer walking in, assault rifle slung saluting the various officers.

"Good morning sir, I have orders from the capital that the base must not fall into Eurasian hands, I need your personal and anyone else including officers wives, civilian admin staff and any children over the age of sixteen to be prepared to grab a gun and use it." Handing over a piece of paper.

"So your saying the twenty thousand personal you've just brought over might not be enough!" Questioned the worried base commander.

"Possibly, we have no idea how many the Eurasians have. The other boys in blue are on the way, the navy sent word that the 18th Fast Battleship Squadron is on the way."

As the crisis worsened overnight with the Eurasian government ordering foreign privately owned companies to be nationalised alarming coalition governments with the threat. Lord Irvine IV head of the Clandonian Business Initiative called the move 'deeply damaging' with the Crown government promising to protect Clandonian business interests abroad. Last night the last of the 16th Air Assault Division left base from Kirkland to RCAF Kensington, Eurasia to protect the base from Eurasian aggression and possibly take control of the capital to eliminate the rogue Eurasian government.

Prime Minister David Sistilin speaking to MP's in the Commons at Prime Ministers Question Time assured the House that the movement of the Fast Battleship Squadron was not done light heartedly due to the threats of Clandonian oil tankers being attacked with the Eurasian navy. Following talks with the Praetonian Foreign Ministry the Clandonian Minister Sir Alan Philips spoke of the 'unbreakable coalition' between the Sovereign League and the two nations that left, Whyatica and The Silver Sky. To confuse matters even more the nation of Automagfreek and the two GASN member states of Cravan and Aequatio also appeared to be showing interest with Freekish parachute forces deploying at Skyian bases on behalf of their NATO membership commitment. The 'powder keg' atmosphere of Ghogloth forces and their antithesis, the Sovereign League mixing in the situation has been described a 'suicidally puzzling' by military and political commentators. Some sides are saying such a mixing could spark a cross alliance war others argue that the sides will go their own separate ways and carve up Eurasia.

The Times Kensington Bureau has been reported to have been stormed by Eurasian police, the correspondents had fled several hours before in a Clandonian rescue convoy to pick up all Clandonian nationals and evacuate the Clandonian Embassy which has been attacked before in the many Eurasian rebellions. Foreign Office travel advise has been issued for all remaining Clandonian nationals in Eurasia to keep a low profile and await rescue by allied forces, all flights to Eurasia from Clandonia and Crown territories have been cancelled until a resolution has been made.

In addition several officers and NCOs from the Colonial Marine Corps Commando division are en-route to act as trainers and advisors to your military. Do you stand ready to accept them?

The gates swung open, revealing columns of tanks and barracks teeming with Whyatican troops. All in all, it was quite fear-inspiring, making even the Prime Minister slightly nervous. His only reassurance was the mobilization of three divisions fifty kilometres away and a squadron of air superiority fighters on full alert. The Rolls-Royce inched forward, proceeding timidly through the sinister snarls of the foreign base. It pulled up to a small, aluminium building which had been designated as the negotiation room. A door opened, revealing Sir Phillip's slight figure departing the car. The sound of his shoes meeting the ground echoed off the Whyatican edifices in the deadly silence. Doors flung open, and the Prime Minister quietly took a seat at a great wooden table in an stark, white room.

General Singh said, Welcome, Mr. Prime Minister. I assume you won't waste my time, here..."

"I won't, General," Sir Phillip declared. "As you well know, I am here to negotiate for the return of the land on which Sovereign League, Skyian, and Whyatican military bases are constructed upon. If that territory is returned, then Eurasia is willing to sign a non-aggression pact with all nations involved - you needn't worry about 'keeping an eye' on Eurasia; Cravanian military installations are still in place. Furthermore, I am also willing to dismantle our biological and chemical warfare capabilities, and sign a treaty stating that we will not build any in the future. Lastly, we will expand your nations' access to Eurasian oilfields as long as they abide by Eurasian labour law.

"We see your demands as wholly unnecessary, Prime Minister, and in fact, rather insulting. First you demand our immediate withdrawl, threaten war if we do not, and then proceed to steal our businesses, again, to force our withdrawl from our sovereign territory. What part of this should we not be insulted by? Your arrogance is misplaced, Mr. Prime Minister, you forget your stature. The things you have offered are meaningless - I personally do not care if you maintain a biological weapons program, my nation has not infringed on your sovereignty. A nonaggression pact is similarly meaningless to me - your nation does not have a good record for maintaining it's treaties. I am unimpressed by an offer to expand access to oil fields, when the threat of nationalization, mass theft is always looming over the Whyatican businessman's head if the Whyatican government does not bend over and take it. In short, your demands are rejected. Give me something better, Mr. Prime Minister, I do not wish for war." General Singh said, coming off as incredibly harsh, but truthful. He did not want war, but he came off as incredibly bullheaded and strong, so as to intimidate the smaller man sitting across from him. The multitude of observers merely listened to him, with the Clandonian man nodding in agreement.

The word filthy floated through Sir Phillip's mind, looking for something to connect to. It rummaged through memories and neurons, and came upon the word Whyaticans. The two had a chat, and realized that they were meant to join together.

Filthy Whyaticans, Sir Phillip thought.

"What would be of interest to you?"

"In honesty, I'm confused as to why you would want to lose the security gains from these bases as well as the economic gains from the soldiers buying things in your markets. I am not interested in your government attempting to force Whyaticans off Whyatican sovereign territory."

"Sir Phillip," began Mr Randolph Fletcher, the junior Foreign Office minister sent to observe the negotiations, "you said that you were still interested in negotiating the transfer to Eurasia of all the Sovereign League bases. I do not wish to confuse you at this point by allowing you to think that my government has sent me here to negotiate - it has not. Your withdrawl of the threat of nationalisation was not made conditional on the attendance of negotiations on the future of Praetonian sovereign basings on the Eurasian landmass, and any attempt to make it conditional on that now is likely only to result in the return of the previous ultimatum.

"The Crown does not recognise your right to conduct a vast theft of property along national lines, nor does it recognise any legitimate Eurasian claim to the land on which Praetonian sovereign basings currently exist, having received them in accordance with a treaty freely signed by the democratically elected government of the day. Other countries here may be interested in entering into negotiations on the subject, but Praetonia is not. Thus, continued references to the 'Sovereign League' as a group with a stance of participating in negotiations on this matter are simply inaccurate."

IC: Nilov Miloslovac was sitting in the least noticed corner in the negotiation room. He was listening and taking notes, but not adding anything to the conversation. For a brief moment he wondered why he was here, but he pushed it out of his mind. One did not question the State from where he came. He continued to observe and take notes. Besides there may be something useful to his Government in here, and if there was, he might get a bonus.

"I, personally, needn't see the complete removal of your military bases to be content. I just want some...reassurances."

"Sir Philip, your present government, constitution and liberal laws exist only because they were put in place against the will of your previous dictatorship at the point of Sovereign League bayonets. What reason could you have for suspecting we would try to remove them now?"

"We aren't going to attack you and have no intent on attacking you, we're going to do what we have continued to do for eons, and that is protect the sovereignty of Eurasia through our bases. Is that enough of a guarantee for you?"

"No. I want reassurances that you will not deploy further troops to these bases with notifying British Londinium."

"Excuse me gentlemen," said President Kara Maddox, the Skyian Observer, "You wouldn't mind if I showed Mr. Sinclair something would you?" She asked.

"After receiving nods from the Praetonians, Whyaticas, and Clandonias, the only ones that mattered, she rose from her chair and walked over to the nearby computer console, typing a few things on her keyboard.

"I would just like to remind Mr. Sinclair of his positon in these talks," She said as she moved from the computer to the light switch, turning it off with a flick, allowing the occupants of the room to see what was being displayed on the projector screen.

Streaming video of Skyian, Whyatica, Praetonia and Clandonian ships flowed over the screen, followe by pictures of Red Tidean and Leafanistan troops and ships, taken recently, either from newspapers or other government/public sources. An impressive display of weaponry, from supercapitals to submarines, from tanks to artilliery, from strategic bombers to CAS planes rolled over the screen, it also included several pictures of Skyian and Whyatican strategic artillery, mostly Unity Cannons, even pictures of AMF sentiels showd up. As the projector went black President Maddox turned the light back on.

"This is what you are up against, this and so much more, more troops are allied to the SL, The Silver Sky, and Whyatica then their are citizens in Eurasia, you do not have the advantage in these talks as you probably well know, but I will not tolerate a weak fledgling of a man to overstep his boundries, wether by physical force or verbal insults, may I remind you of who's land you are currently occupying, who's base you are in, and who's building you have been invited into. You are a 'guest' of ours, and you will abide by our rules, do you understand that Mr. Sinclair?"

"It is hardly possible for us to deploy troops to inland bases secretly, Sir Philip. What, exactly, are you concerned about happening with regard to these hypothetical troops we are supposedly trying to smuggle in?"

"Excuse me, Ms. Maddox, but I hardly am going to be frightened by this pathetic attempt to coerce me into cooperation. How oddly typical of you and your nation to threaten rather than persuade. Disgusting," Sir Phillip spat. Turning to the Prætonian delegate, he said, "I know that the deployment of troops can not be kept a secret - I am merely stating the desires of my people. My people want two things, and two things only: the reassurance that you and other nations with bases in British Londinium will not abuse your power, and the reassurance that your corporations operating in British Londinium abide by Londinian labour law. Can they have their assurances? If so, I think we can be done here."

"I cannot believe your insanity, Phil. You nearly caused a war that would have destroyed your nation because you wanted a "reassurance" of things you already knew?"

"Hardly knew. As I speak, one of the banks under your control is illegally printing Londinian eura notes. Foreign corporations seem to answer to your government while they operate in my nation - but not the laws of British Londinium. And it's Sir Phillip."

The Prime Minister rose from his seat and left the spartan negotiating room.

"Our companies have abided by labour laws for all the time they have currently been there. My government cannot provide assurances against the actions of private organisations and individuals, but it would seem that breaches of labour laws are an internal matter that can be solved quite easily by the civil police force and judiciary of Eurasia.

"Similarly, Praetonia has not "abused" her sovereign basings in Eurasia. How exactly would you define "abuse"? It seems that you have given up all of your initial requests out of desperation to be able to save face with an electorate who are likely to seek your removal as their leader if you are seen to come away from this situation with nothing, having realised that you cannot coerce us into giving you what you want, and are therefore demanding concessions which are not concessions at all but current policy simply to be seen to come away with something.

"It would seem, therefore, that we have little reason to accept your requests, as they would simply allow you to claim an imaginary victory over non-existant "abuses" for no gain on our part."

The Colonel signed a rather rude gesture that was incomprehensible for those who did not understand sign language, but the intense look on his face carried the weight of his 'words'. The interpreter who was also acting as a guard said nothing.

Lady Meyer simply pushed her glasses up on her nose and watched the man storm out.

"It seems Sir Phillip isn't so reasonable with you military men. It is natural, perhaps he wishes to speak with a lady? Someone of noble birth similar to his own?"

Lady Meyer called for Sir Phillip to speak with her, mentioning her nobility as he stepped away.

After the Prime Minister left, General Singh excused himself briefly as an aide came to him with an important piece of news. The Eurasians/Londiniumites had mobilized more of their army and mined their oceans, which were important shipping lanes for the Whyaticans and Praetonians. Combined with the threats to the Whyatican ally of the Blubs, General Singh was completely ready to declare war on British Londinium and annex it in the name of the Whyatican Empire. However, he had to consult his friends and allies in the other room - and get everyone else the hell out. He re-entered the conference room and said, "Everyone that isn't Praetonian, Clandonian or Skyian, this conference is over temporarily, however, I would like all of you to remain on the base for your own safety and to be called upon if negotiations resume."

Once the rest of the representatives shuffled out, he closed the door, and said, "I believe it is time that we end this mess, my friends. The Euras--Londiniumites are mining the seas and mobilizing their entire army. This is obviously a precursor to an attack on us, the Blubs, or someone else. We have to strike first and hard, keep the ball in our court."
