Question. Why is Austria in the Warsaw Pact?

Austria was also spilt into two zones of occupation, I think.

Well, it was split into four zones of occupation until 1955. At which point the occupation was ended and Austria became a sovereign state, and more importantly, neutral in the Cold War.

If nuclear war occured I doubt that the parties involved would survive as their former selves. Perhaps a continued cold war w/o nuking would be more realistic. Either way I'd still like join but I'm still thinking about my claim.

I'll take Russia if unless a more active player wants to grab it. If someone does I'll take East Germany

I'm quite interested - as I was part of three earths but two never really got off, though I'm still part of one. If so, I would like to be my own nation (though I want to change my name) to be part of this on NATO's side, and located between America and Europe - however, do we have the same populations as we do in NS, as that might see nations become even more powerful than America quite easily. Which brings me to say what does NPC mean, as I might want America.

An NPC is a non-player character. So, nobody's playing America.

Hey this is cool. if its an alternate history can I have
a Communist North New Zealand

if u guys know anything about new zealand you might know about David Lange and how we upset the americans by not allowing nuclear ships in our ports. the result was that america packed a sad and kicked us out of ANZUS but New Zealand declared itself nuclear free, David Lange was a Labour Party leader. this is all true but if this is alternate history i want to tell you my version

Ok so NZ was kicked out of ANZUS in 1985 when NZ passed the anti nuclear legislation. in response and because of the cold war tensions america took an extreme apporach and backed a military coup which almost overthrew the government. the forces loyal to Lange booted the american backed forces but it was to late the american backed forces took over all the south NZ cities in the South island like Dunedin and Christchurch. The americans moved in their troops and make the South Island independent while the North Island became the People Republic of New Zealand under David Lange. North New Zealand is now slavishly loyal to the warsaw pact and is a very strictly stalinist nation with thier borders completely cealed. I also know for a fact that the population of NZ is 4 million with about 2.5 million on North Island and 1.5 million on south island. the south is more mountinous and agricultural while the north island holds our largest cities like Auckland and Wellington

Also this is true that the real David Lange died i think in 2005 so if in my alternate history of NZ he would have died after 21 years in power. so my Communist north New Zealand is still going through a secret power struggle as he picked no successor.

Is this ok, can i join?

I don't see anyone claiming the Middle East, I might as well do so. Let me know if I should tone down or change anything.

The Saudi Caliphate was created by the leaders of the Saudi Royal family who wished to create a strong leadership for the Muslim people. After many successful conquests, the peninsula of Arabia was united under the Caliphate of the Saudi Family. The Caliphates current standing in the war is truly neutral since they do not wish to place themselves into the war. They supply oil to both the Warsaw Pact and NATO to ensure they won’t be invaded. If one side attacked the Caliphate, however, their attitudes towards the war could be changed. If the Caliphate was forced into choosing sides, it is currently most likely they would chose NATO to avoid communism’s reign over them and the Muslim people.

The Saudi's (That's me) are overall neutral so they can sell oil to the Warsaw Pact and NATO. Who they end up siding with depends on who attacks them first. I'm not certain that this war has anything to do with Israel yet though.

yeah... I think the IC started too early. Lesson to all n00bs- Don't start a IC thread before you have a fair number of players. If you wait, you end up with something good and lasting like E V, E II, or ESS

Well, so long as we're saying this is dead, is anyone around willing to give this another shot? I'm thinking different time frame (although same modern-day Cold War concept), not quite as much flexibility (like, I'm not sure about this whole "your country can be on a nuclear warhead" thing), more planning, etc.

I like the idea, except for the fact that YOUR nation can be in it. That makes no sense, you should have to choose a nation there at the time.
