"And the skies will open and from them will spill steel, fire and blood."
--Book Of Lex, IV23.
"The dead speak more than mortal comprehend."
--Poems From The Dead, Number 206, Line 3.
"Hibernation lies awake."
--High Priest Fatley, Two Months After The Fall.
--------
Claude de Vilpe stood on top of Battery Hill, the site of the third battle of The Great Paridian War. The Emperors loyal forces took stronghold on this hill, as the heavens turned black against him. The light came not from the sun, but from the fireballs that came from the enemies artillery. For three whole months they were bombarded, until the last man stood. So legend has it, he survived for eternity under the Gods grace. Claude put his history book back into his rucksack, and walked down the southern face of the hill.
Along the quiet country lanes he was walking towards, he saw a puff of black smoke. A shout was heard, deep and bellowing. He thought nothing of it and continued to walk towards the road. Hopping a fence onto the road, he was almost run down by a military jeep, which just continued forwards. A soldier walked up to him and showed him a map, asking him where they were. The map was outdated, but the road was there. "Who are you?"
The soldier looked suprised. "Seventh Army, Sergeant Mather."
"The seventh army is stationed overseas. Where do you come from?" Little did the soldier know that Claude was an expert on the military of Aleard and its history. The soldier looked alerted, and swung the butt of his pistol across the front of Claude. It struck him on the right side of his head, knocking him to the ground unconscious.
Little did Claude know the invasion of Aleard had begun. For years the attack had been known to be coming, and people were beginning to doubt it. However, now it was happening.
The second of November.. The day the dead would speak more than than the living.
OOC: I need an invading force, just roleplay your advancement into my country, and we can start from there. Any other involvement is welcome.
