This rp begins at the outset of the American Civil War, following the lives of people directly affected by it. A nation where brother fought brother. Where American blood was spilled by American hands. As the war begins we see the optimism in what many believed would be a month long war, ending quickly and resolved just as quick. But the bloody truth reveals itself and turns into a four year brutal campaign in which a new type of warfare emerges, decimating thousands upon thousands of civilians and soldiers. The Union naval blockade strangles the Confederate states as hunger and lack of supplies grips the populace while a total war rages across the nation. The fires of war engulf America, threatening the very foundations of which it was forged. What began as a war to unite the nation, now turns into a war to save humans enslaved. The character possibilities are endless, one can be a simple soldier fighting to make some money, or a gentleman officer in search for adventure to an escaped slave to an entrepaneur and war proifitier. As well as a civilian caught up in the carnage. The choices are yours.

The main plot is of course, the war itself. But it will be a collection of seperate stories which intertwine at certain points. You can choose to be a famous or notable general or figure of the time if you so desire but I'm looking for other characters, ones of your own creation. There will be plenty of action, romance, betrayal, intrigue, and such.

History: Shaw grew up in a upper class family in Philadelphia where his father was a successful steel mill owner and a mother who was not of the higher class but someone from a lower backround. During his childhood he lived the life of a child in such social status. However, his mother always taught him to be humble and respectful as well as many other lessons. His father was somehwat cold and distant but remained a father figure none the less. He recieved a good education and became a school teahcer in literature, a subject which always interested him. Despite a stable life, he was distraught with the boredom and complacency. So, when war broke out he joined the Union army and due to his father's connections, became an officer. He has a deep sense of duty, and a strong willed man.

History: A young man from New Orleans, Jonathan signed up to the Confederate cause not knowing the reasons behind the conflict.

As a child he had played with slave children who had escaped the plantations on their way to the north and to freedom but he had never known them to be slaves only friends

When he learns of the Confederates motives and racist leanings he is disgusted that he is fightin g for the very thing he hates and agsinst the people whom he sees as the good guys

Nonetheless if he attempts to flee he will be shot on sight & as his knowledge of the south and his skills in firearms and tactics makes him a valued asset, one the south wishes to keep

History: A wealthy plantation owner hailing from the county of Berkeley, in northern Virginia, there was no question about which side Mr. Jones would take in this war. Fed up with his tax dollars ending up being used in the north instead of the south, Robert knew it was time for war. He raised his own group of volunteers from around the area, and he named himself Colonel of Jones' Regiment.

History: Part of a family that has moved to Cape May, New Jersey, Michael has had much experience in the art of battle. As a young boy, he joined his family in secretly finding witches to slay. At the age of 19, those days ended and he enlisted in the Union Army. He still holds true to his witch hunting skills and at some times finds a witch to slay.

At home, he has a wife and three young sons who pray for him everyday for their fathers safe return home.

As of now, he serves as a Captain under the Union flag and is stationed along with his company in Bluefield, West Virginia.
