Nicolaus the Fourth had served the small nation of Maraguista as well as he could, having adopted the traditional values of his forefathers. However, the country was becoming increasingly modern Nicolaus had to adapt with his nation. It meant battling the Senate for approval of the proposed International Defense Treaty, which would strengthen the unity of the world and decrease problems with trading. Unfortunately, the Senate had recently blundered by decreeing that foreign made products would become harder to come by in Maraguista. But no matter, the International Defense Treaty had been reluctantly passed by Senate and all it had to do was be accepted by the world. If it was accepted by the world, than the Treaty would formalize into the International Defense Organization or IDO. If passed, the Maraguistan Military would be on full stand by to protect the members of IDO if necessary.
Nicolaus turned around and faced the long oval table, facing the beaming faces of the ambassadors of several nations that had been interested by summaries given to them of the IDT,"Ladies and Gentlemen.
