Let Them Come, or Keep Them? (OOC sign up)

Well this is an usual idea I have. Partly inspired by the Elián González (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eli%C3%A1n_Gonz%C3%A1lez) case, only diffrent.

Here's the jist of the story: A boat load of Neko's (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Neko) leaving from X county or X part to get to Animalpolis of my islands, get's caught in a major storm. Out of the band of over a 100 only two survive. A mother and her small child, they are quickly picked up by someone and it sparks a major diplomatic crises without resulting in warfare. Will you allow the Neko's to flee persecution to get to place where they can belong? Or will you stick to your guns and keep them?

I know kind of unusual story of illegal immigration in reverse, but I think it could be intresting. Animalpolis is the only island in the AHSCA Chain that is easy on immigration, especially of animal-metahumans. So anyone willing to join? Any questions? You can also play parties supporting one or the other side but not be directly involved. It's a thought

OOC: I'd like to try this out. My nation being a North Korea-esque Stalinist state, it'd make the situation interesting because it'd be harder to get information out of my country as to what's happening to the two and where they are etc. Also, I have some planned internal rivalries coming up in my country, so this would help me develop those.

I could have a warship or two on patrol in the area that stay to monitor the situation.

If at all possible, I'd like to be the state that "suggests" to Ibaneza that they keep these illegals, as they HAVE violated their sovereignty, and perhaps Ibaneza might, in exchange for a regiment's worth of Lyran tanks, allow the Lyran Protectorate to take custody of these criminals.

The Protectorate certainly could use some of the genetic information to improve its underlying genestock.

I like that idea

In which case, I will liase with Ibaneza to determine exactly what they want.

For reference, Lyras is a military state. Not a militant state, a military state. Every man, woman and child is a member of the Lyran Protectorate Armed Forces, and is trained from birth to fulfil the military role they are bred for. Genetic enhancements and selective breeding specific to the intended role are the standard. Hence infantry are universally well built, and in the area of 6 foot 11, while tank crew are smaller and lighly built, for example.

The Protectorate would be highly interested in establishing whether or not Neko DNA would be of use for its genetic programs...

And it's not like we can't spare some tanks...
