United Citizen's Federation Department of Defense

Today we would like to start by saying that our campaign in the British Islands have end in peace and we will be keeping the current style of government in place. We have also started reequip the military and police for of the United Kingdoms. With the way everything has happen the military and police forces of the United Kingdom will end up keeping 95% of there current manpower but we are allowing anyone that doesn't want to work or fight for the Government to be given honorable discharge for their service to their nation.

We would also like to say that we have had artillery attacks from the nation of Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In a meeting of the UCF National Defense Command they have seen fit to Declare War on the Government of Democratic People's Republic of Korea. We will be sending any force needed to stop this threat from taking any land from the Republic of Korea. With this war happing on the Korean Peninsula the Imperial Japanese Government has also sent force to help as they are one of the forming members of the United Citizen's Federation. The full military might of the United Citizen's Federation will be brought down on the Government of Democratic People's Republic of Korea. We will also be trying to limit this to a non nuclear conflict but we are not sure what the DPRK will be doing.

OCC: A few notes. 1-if it’s in bold that means it’s SIC and you would have little to no knowledge of that event until you encountered it. 2-I (the Republic) have a small army and navy based in Japan and I was going to remove it for various reasons due to the war with Sharina. However, since the war with Sharina is going nowhere, your free to use those forces in this Korean war as you see fit. Just Remember, their under your operational control, but not tactical.

Part 1: As turbulent times descended upon the Korean Peninsula and most of East Asia, a new balance of power was at hand and it need only be seized by those with the will and strength to do so. With the death of the great leader in North Korea; Kim Yong-il, the Premier of North Korea along with Kim Yong-nam, had formed a new government. Yet, the loss of the one thing holding North Korea together brought great uncertainty to the new government and to the people of North Korea. As weeks turned into months, it became obvious to the new government that their power was growing weaker by the day and that sooner or late, the masses would overthrow them. To preserve their lives and all that they had worked so hard for, the leaders of the new North Korean government came up with the following plan that would distract the masses long enough from their cries for social reform. A plan that if it worked would cement their place as the true leaders of not just North Korea, but of the entire Korean Peninsula. If, it failed it would see the end of them and of their country. Since, the life or the death of the country rested with this plan, no effort was spared to make sure it succeed.

After months of perpetration, the operational plan was put into effect. The invasion of “South Korea” had began and with it lay the hopes and dreams of an entire people. The unity of the entire Korean Peninsula was at hand one way or another.

Part 2: After, an intense and unexpected one hour bombardment directed against key South Korean targets had finally finished-the troops began their march south. What remain of the South Korean defenses in the DMZ would soon be either destroyed or surrounded. Leading the invasion into South Korea were the I Corps on the eastern front, V Corps on the central eastern front, II Corps on the central-western front, and IV Corps on the western front. In additional to this, 16 more Corps were behind the line ready to assist in any breakthrough. Almost the entire army and navy had been committed to the opening stages of the war. With approximately 700,000 troops; over 8,000 artillery systems, and 2,000 tanks spearheading the invasion. What in of itself might seem like overkill considering the entire South Korea armed forces themselves alone only had 686,000 active personnel. And yet, even more men and material were being committed to this huge endeavor. [Supporting the massive force was the North Korean Navy who had just, but a few days ago deployed it’s entire submarine fleet of some 93 vessels of all types to key areas in the Sea of Japan, the Yellow Sea and in the Korea strait. In addition to deploying a blockade of South Korea, the Navy was also task with assisting with the insertion of some 22,000 North Korean Special Operations Forces (SOF) into South Korea the night before the opening moves of the invasion for the following operations: conducting reconnaissance, performing combat operations in conjunction with conventional operations and establishing a second front in South Korea’s rear areas.]

While, the North Korean Army and Navy would take the fight to South Korea and anyone else who assisted them, the primary mission of the Korean People's Army Air Force would be air defense of the homeland. Limited Secondary missions would include tactical air support to the army and the navy, transportation and logistic support, and insertion of special operations forces. If and when, the South Korean air force was finally overran/destroyed and/or captured would the Korean People's Army Air Force finally take more aggressive moves inside South Korean airspace. From the moment, the first shot had been fired- the 4.7 million Reserves began their call up. Had it been done before the official start, it could have alerted the South Koreans as to what was up. Yet, by waiting to after the attack had began the North Korean government, army, navy and air force had achieved almost complete surprise. Still, even with this complete surprise.

The war had just begun.

OCC: Well, what do you think?

IC: Following the open attacks from the North Korea Artillery onto the positions of the units of the Republic of Korea's First and Third Armies, but because of reports from the French DGSE, British MI6, Japanese Military Intelligence and other Foreign Intelligence Agencies about the upcoming attacks onto the attacks of the South Korean Military Forces on the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). With this intelligence the ROK Military Command brought a major part of the units in the First and Third Armies of the line to secondary positions to wait and counterattack the North Koreans' Forces coming over the DMZ. The First Army keep 7th and 27th Infantry Divisions from the II Corps, 2nd and 21st Infantry Divisions from the III Corps and 23rd Infantry Division and 102rd Infantry Brigade from the VIII Corps that made the units that is going to be the ones on the First Army's Area of Responsibility. The Third Army keep 1st and 9th Infantry Divisions from the I Corps, 3rd and 6th Infantry Divisions from the V Corps, and 26th 28th Infantry Divisions from the VI Corps to slow the North Korean forces with the aid of the Divisions Engineering Companies inside them to plant anti-armor and anti-personnel mines to take out as many of them as they could before they could get pass them. The 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th 17th and 18th Aviation Groups flies Hughes 500M/MD TOW Helicopters with anti-armor TOW missiles for the Armor that the North Korean Forces are using to come down from the Demilitarized Zone, while the 31st Aviation Group that flies AH-1F/J Attack Helicopters and MD-500 Attack Helicopters took to shooting up both Armor and Infantry units coming down from the other side of the DMZ. The units that were waiting for the North Korean Forces are the Armor Brigades and Artillery Brigades to open fire on them as they come into the sites.

With the intelligence reports the South Korean Navy, Japanese Navy and Republic of Vladivostokski Navy to track and destroy the North Korean Submarine Forces in the surrounding waters to keep the supplies and other forces coming into the Republic of Korea.

The Republic of Korean Air Force started to do a combat support and interdiction into the North Koreans' Forces into South Korea. Most of the ROKAF is going to be attacking into the North Korea to destroy the command and control ok the North Korean Military.

OCC: Sorry about the delay in getting another post up.

IC: Some how, the enemy had known about the upcoming attack. Though key sectors of the DMZ had been captured, the cost had been high. Reports coming in from the front lines were not good, but there was still some good news. The majority of the fighting units were still capable of taking the fight to the enemy and the country at large was gearing up for this major undertaking. Though surprise had been lost, brute force had prevailed. As to the enemy finding out about the operation, a major witch-hunt had been started and anyone suspected of treachery was shot on sight. Within a matter of days the leaks were stopped and the enemy would again be guessing what the North Koreans had planned. Though, before all the leaks were eliminated and I mean all of them, disinformation was passed along through these leaks to the enemy indicating a major offensive would be directed towards the Capital of South Korea. SIC: (No way your knowing what follows) In reality, all major offensives had been called off with minor operations continuing to take place near the South Korea Capital as to give the illusion that a major operation was about to begin. Once the South Koreans bought the bait and showed their hand, would the North Koreans then spring their trap.

Meanwhile, the Air War was proceeding as expected with South Korea Air Units attacking in strength at key areas. Using Hit and Run tactics, a few South Korea aircraft had been managed to be shot down with the loss of no North Korean aircraft. Others were brought down by random hits of surface to air missiles and concentrated ground fire. Damage to the military capacity in North Korea was superficial, due to the high degree this capacity was protected through various means.

However, the battle at Sea was turning out to be the weaker point in the North Koreans offensive. The majority of the major ocean going subs had been sunk, but not before sinking a few key vessels of the South Korean Navy and Japanese Navy who had joined the fight. The loss of the 19 ROMEO Class submarines while tragic was consider inevitable as the Navy was geared almost entirely towards Coastal Warfare and at this they were exceeding with the successful insertion of nearly 22,000 special forces behind the main lines of the South Korea forces. With merely a word given, complete chaos could be instilled all throughout South Korea.

[OCC: I'll let you decided how many and what type of ships you lost, but in all fairness you should lose some not a lot mine you, but some. For the record those Major Ocean Going subs were the 22 ROMEO Class submarines and the majority would be 90% of them which leaves 3 left you haven't sunk.]

With the losses of the ROKS Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin, ROKS Gwanggaeto the Great, ROKS Yi Sabu from the Republic of Korea Naval Ships and the Imperial Japanese Navy lost HIJMS Murasame, HIJMS Harusame, and HIJMS Takanami were lost to enemy submarine activities in the waters around South Korea and Japan. Many of the subs to be attacked were done by Airborne Anti Submarine Warfare assets from both the Republic of Korea Navy and Imperial Japanese Navy. Both navies have begun to attack the North Korea Naval Bases to take out anyway for the North Koreans' to get resupplied by any other nations.

With the other major attacks across the South Korean side of the DMZ starting to slow down the South Korean Military Commanders started to move units of the Second South Korean Army to protect the capital against any more attacks but for the most part the reinforcements are going to be made up of Reserve Military Divisions to leave the major Active Units in there places to keep alert for any North Korean Forces going to attack in other places.

The South Korean Air Force seeing how protected the Command, Control and Communication sites are defended as well as other key areas to the North Korean War Effort. All major Fighter, Fighter-Bomber and Bomber Squadrons begun to attack North Korean Air Force Units and Bases throughout North Korea. The South Korean Air Force used tactics like "Iron Hand" or "Wild Weasel" operations which is Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) Operations the aircraft to take part of the SEAD is F-15K, F-16C, F-4D/E, and A-37B to take on this task. What other aircraft that is listed does not get used will be used to attack other key targets in the North Korean country. The Imperial Japanese Air Force Squadrons will be protecting to the units that are in the attack on North Korean Air Defenses.

SIC: Royal Air Force Squadrons began to fly into the Imperial Japanese Air Bases to start helping out with the attacks on the North Koreans. Also the first of the French and British Para- Troopers started to fly into airbase around South Korea and get a move on to the area of the First and Third South Korean Armies Area of Responsibilities. The British 22 and 23 SAS Regiments have also been flying into classified Air Bases in Japan to start Counter Special Forces Operations against known North Korean Special Forces in South Korea. The French Army Special Forces Brigade to help out with this operations too.

Mean while 14th Separate Brigade of Special Designation and 83 SPETZNAZ CDO BDE will begin operating in the North Korean Country Side as well as the 5th and 35th Vladiostok Armies to begin attacking the North Korean from the Northern part of their country. Also the Vladiostok Fleet started to openly attack the North Korean coast.

Also the first of the French and British Naval Forces started to put into ports in Japan and the very south of the Republic of Korea.

OCC: A few questions and comments, once I get a reply to those questions I put up an IC reply.

1. How are you attacking the North Korean Navy Bases? By Long Range Missiles, Naval Gunfire or a combination of both?

2. Not really a major point, but how are those Special Forces of yours going to counter my special forces when there all in Japan? You might want to change that to them arriving to Japan and from there within a few days to being deployed into South Korea or North Korea if you want.

3. Also the first of the French and British Naval Forces started to put into ports in Japan and the very south of the Republic of Korea.-Um, if you could-it's a little too soon by my clock for them to arrive. By my time frame the war has only been going on for a few days to a week. It's going to take your Task Forces quite awhile to reach South Korea/Japan. As a reference, it took the British Task Force sent to recapture the Falklands between 17 to 19 days (2 to 2 ½ weeks) to reach the Falklands waters. You have to at least sail double the distance if not more then what the British did in 1982. Also, you going to need to use key bases to support your logistics chain.

For that, the Republic would gladly aid you in that regard as we have quite a few bases operational in the Indian Ocean. Also, if you don't feel like waiting around a month for your task forces to arrive you can always use the Carrier Battle Group I have based in Southern Japan along with the 30,000 or so troops also based in Southern Japan.

That's it for now, get back to me ASAP.

2. Not really a major point, but how are those Special Forces of yours going to counter my special forces when there all in Japan? You might want to change that to them arriving to Japan and from there within a few days to being deployed into South Korea or North Korea if you want. I am going to give an order for your troops to be rushed to the Korean Conflict as fast as you can. I will be given your forces missions but you will have to do the rest as they are your forces."

IC: Well the major resources of the North Korean Air Force was focused on the fighting in the south of the country the 11th Air Force Army units from the Republic of Vladivostok started to launch attacks against North Korean military and civilian infrastructure to make the North Korean Military to have to fight a war on two fronts. 83rd Bomber Division started to attack the Najin Naval Base, Orang Air Base and Puam-ni Naval Base. While the 83rd Bomber Division was attacking these bases 23rd and 25th Air Defense Corps were supporting the 5th Army and 35th Army crossing the northern boarder of North Korea. The attacks are to help relieve the pressure on the other military forces in South Korea.

SIC: The United Citizen's Federation has been talking with military commanders of the former People's Republic of China to help with the attack on the North Korean Military close to their boarders. The UCF have offered any Chinese Military Commander that has entered the UCF will be given enough money, food and supplies to help bring them into the fold of the United Citizen's Federation. Many of the Commanders have seen some of their military forces begin to lose supplies because of riders against them as there is no civil laws. As of right now the only one to commit to the UCF is the Shenyang Military Region only after the Russians and others in military forces started to push the North Korean Forces to half to defend their own homes or after a month of the conflict.

OCC: Your right, I didn’t think about some of your ships already being at sea. So, that answers that question. A correction-I removed that one infantry division I had in Korea quite away ago before the war with Sharina broke out. I did so because, first you had declared your neutrality and second to reduce my manpower requirements so as to focus my full strength onto Sharina and winning that war.

Sorry about the delay in getting a post up I’ve been extremely busy. Hopefully, this post should meet with your approval.

IC: Along the 38th Parallel:

After a few days of rest and reorganization of the major fighting units along the South Korean border, the North Koreans were ready to resume the offensive. With command/control and supplies originating from P’yonggang and Kosong, the new offensive opened with quick 10-15 minutes precision artillery strikes on known South Korean army positions in Gangwon Province. Once the artillery had finished hitting the targets along the front the Tanks and Armored Personnel Carriers of the North Korean I. and V. Corps would follow. The capture of the capital of Gangwon Province (Chuncheon) was to be the main objective, however the capture of other major cities such as Whach’on, Inje, Shinch’olwon, Yanggu, Kansong and Sokch’O were also high on the priority list. With the capture of all of these cities and their surrounding area, a firm foothold would finally be established in South Korea. The first step towards the complete reunification of Korea.

The Border with Vladivostok (Russia):

Though initially caught off guard by the sudden invasion along it’s northern border, the North Koreans were quick to act. Until, certain units of the VI. Corps could be redeployed north towards the border, a policy of guerilla tactics like that used against the Russians in Afghanistan was implemented. Though they wouldn’t be able to stop the Russians loyal to the UCF, this would cause the Russians many problems fighting in the mountainous terrain and would slow down their invasion long enough to buy time for the North Korean miliary to responded. With already half of it’s 4.7 million reserves called up, these forces began to be sent to the various fronts including now the one in the North.

The East Coast and the war at Sea:

As the attack on the North Korean Naval bases began to get underway, the response from the North Korean Navy was swift and without mercy. First targeting the major capital ships and then the smaller ones, the invaders were peppered with hundreds of Styx/Silkworm anti-ship missiles and torpedoes from various types of coastal defense craft, the three remaining Romeo Class subs that had redeployed into the area and from land based installations. After quickly expending their missiles or torpedoes, the vessels would retreat back to safely of their ports to either rearmed or get out of the return fire from the enemy. On top of the damage and chaos these attacks caused, the North Koreans couldn’t help, but smile as the enemy had unwitting wonder into extensive minefields deployed by the North Koreans days before. What vessels remained in the area after the initial attacks and having somehow avoid the elaborate minefields, were attacked again and again as necessary until the entire invading Navy was driven from the coastal waters of North Korea.

OOC: I would like to know when you deployed minefields and what type of ships? I would like to know because the Styx has a 80km range and what version of the Silkworm missile are you using the HY-4 and XW-41 version? The Torpedoes and Missile Boats would have been picked up by the submarines before they would have attacked the Russian Units. I will give you a up to three major and five minor units to as sunk or damaged. From what naval base are you attacking from and what are you loses from my attack on the Najin Naval Base as well as the Air Force Bases? I known this is just a war of conquest from me to go up and take over but I would like a realistic conflict please. I am going to be having a few attacks on your "fake" Capital. I would like to know when you removed the landmines around the DMZ? I will be posting my operations to attack the North Korean Army.

1. I deployed the minefields during the opening days of the campaign and the process is still ongoing and will probably continue for as long as there are ships to deploy mines, mines to deploy and a war between North Korea and the UCF. Since, deploying mines is such a minor operation compared to the ground war I didn't see the need to waste time with such a minor thing, I'm doing the same thing with the Air War-since North Korea for all practical purposes doesn't even have an air force worth mentioning I've just assume you pretty much have complete Air Superiority with me limited to hit and run attacks. As for the ships I'm using, in the interest of saving time not having to list them all here’s a link with the majority of craft the North Koreans use. North Korean Navy (http://www.hazegray.org/worldnav/asiapac/n_korea.htm)

2. The Silkworm is a Chinese copy of the Soviet Styx, so as far as I can tell Korea has access to all versions except for the most recent one, the XW-41. As to the submarines picking up those craft, maybe-maybe not. But, then I'm more worried about them being picked up on Radar. Remember, you said your attacking those ports both with gunfire and missiles, which brings some of your ships well into range of those missiles and out of range of your protective submarines. Furthermore, you should assume that just like your craft being out and about patrolling the waters, the North Koreans would be doing the same. So, expecting all North Korean vessels to be sitting in their various ports waiting for you to attack them is just silly. Actually, for all practical purposes I'm not attacking from any Naval Base.

3. As for losses, as I said in the beginning I was going to limit making any declared statement on losses, however that said in my next post I'll make a summary of the operation to date that will cover all losses in men and material. As to the landmines, there not that hard to get raid of. That said, it should be clear I haven't removed all of them and hence why the operation was stalled for a few days.

The North Korean Army I and V Corps attacked along the Gangwon Province in order to throw off the balance of the UCF military operations in the area and to over run the South Korean Army out there positions. As this is going on the South Korean First Army that is responsibility is for that area has the units from the II Corps, III Corps, and VIII Corps already in position along the DMZ waiting for an attack in that area. So, when the attack started to come down this area the II Corps’ 7th Infantry and 27th Infantry Divisions, III Corps’ 2nd Infantry and 21st Infantry Divisions and VIII 23rd Infantry Division and 102nd Infantry Brigade waited in hardened bunkers as the North Koreans open fire on them with their artillery units before they started to attack the line with armor units for a shock effect, but because of the intelligence and the UCF’s Air Forces control the skies over both the North and South Koreas. Almost every day for the past few weeks the Royal Air Force’s No. 216 Squadron (Tristar) started to see the build up on the DMZ but didn’t think of it as a major offensive move on the North Korean’s part because of the pounding they where giving Soul, so when they started to attack along this province the Major portion of the South Korean Forces where in the rear area waiting for either a major attack into Soul or to put down the North Korean Commandos if the South Korean Police could not handle it. So, when the North Korean’s started send their Armor across the DMZ there was no real delaying it because of the limited Anti-Armor that the units on the line had in the first place. Well this was going on the South Korean Army Units already on the line started to call in for Close Air Support and Helicopter Reinforcements to be brought up and help stop the tide of the North Korean’s advance across the DMZ. When the calls started to come into the South Korean’s First Army Headquarters they sent for as many of the South Korean’s Army Aviation Groups as they could get to help out in the defense of the Gangwon Province. They also sent a request for support from the other UCF’s military units in the Gangwon Province as soon as they could be brought up to the DMZ. When this request was put through the British Joint Force Harrier was sent in for close air support, while the No. 111 Squadron (Tornado F3s), No. 43 Squadron (Tornado F3s) and No. 3(F) Squadron (Typhoon F2) started to provide fighter cover for the Gangwon Province while other UCF’s Air Force Units could provide both CAS and CAP but the British Units where going to be the main stay of the Close Air Support and Combat Air Patrol will be handled by the South Korean and Japanese Air Forces.

So, as the rest of the South Korean’s First Army’s Corps were brought up to the line and waiting for the British, Japanese and French forces that were in country to be brought up to a staging area for either filling the gap defense or for an fresh attacking forces to drive into the North Korean’s side of the DMZ. Many of South Korean’s AH-1 Cobra’s had started to run anti-armor runs on the North Korean’s Armor to save as many of the South Korean Infantry units on line until South Korean Armor Units could be brought to the fight. The South Korean’s 3rd Armored Brigade was the first that could be brought into the fight to stop as many of the North Korean’s ageing armor that crossed the DMZ with the range of the K1A1’s that most of the active units used but there are units that are using the newer K2 Black Panther Main Battle Tank. As the South Korean 3rd Armored Brigade meats with the North Korean’s Armored Brigades that are coming right down on the 3rd Armored Brigade. As this was happening the 3rd Armored K1A1 started to take a sighting of the North Korean’s tanks and armored personnel carriers and opened fired on the aging Ch'onma-ho tanks and other tanks or armored personnel carriers that they can before they have to pull back to a secondary position to get another fire solution on more of the advancing North Korean Armor. The British 3rd, 4th and 20th Armored Brigades started to advance to the South Korean 3rd Armored Brigade’s positions to help bog down the advancing North Korean Armor and Armored Personnel Carriers as much as it would help until the infantry units could be brought up to the DMZ and get more anti-armor equipment up on the DMZ. Many of the British Challenger 2 has about the same range of the K1A1 tanks and the K2 Black Panther tanks. As the two side’s armor began to engage each other as soon as they game into each others weapon’s range but most of the attacks on the South Korean and British Armor Units for the most part didn’t take a lot of damage from the North Korean Ch'onma-ho tanks and even the other tanks in the North Korean arsenal that could really put a dent into any of the United Citizen’s Federation nations military have protection that is great then the North Korean’s Armor Units.

Because of the share volume of the infantry support with the North Korean Armored Attack that the South Korean Infantry had to fight with the North Korean Infantry hand to hand in order to keep from being over ran by the North Korean’s. As this was happing the RAF and South Korean Air Force started drop anti-personnel bombs ahead of the South Korean Infantry position to help thin down the North Korean Infantry advancing towards the Gangwon Province. Many South Korean units began to run out of ammunition, so the South Korean First Army started to send supplies from the South Korean 1st Logistical Support Command with the help of the French 6th Combat Helicopter Regiment’s NH90 and Eurocopter Panthers to bring in ammunition and other supplies that they could to help the South Korean Infantry to defend the area. Every time this happens the AH-1s and other attack helicopter to clear out areas of North Korean Infantry and Armor before siding in the HN90 and Eurocopter Panthers. Also to clear landing zones out the South Korean’s Engineering Brigades cleared trees and anything else from flat areas so the helicopters could land and could take out any wounded or dead soldiers to the rear area so they could clear out more space to bring into the area to reinforce areas that are taking heavy action from the North Koreans.

Major Attack on Najin Naval Base.

Today the UCF Military Command released this information about the combined air, land and naval forces of all the members of the United Citizen's Federation to get a foothold into North Korea. As the mass naval armada began to attack the naval base at Najin with surface to surface missiles and naval gun fire it will also help the Eastern Russian Federation Ground Forces that will be also opening fire on the Najin Naval Base with artillery units of the 5th and 35th Eastern Russian Federation Armies. The Naval and Ground Artillery Forces started to open fire in the early morning and that lasted for about 24 hours before a let up to resupply and allow for the 5th and 35th Armies Armor Forces to get into assault position before opening fire with covering fire for the assault from ground and sea before committing the airborne units in this assault.

As the naval and ground artillery forces started to open fire again the combined ground and sea assault units started to head for their objectives to before the airborne forces if need would jump in to help the ground and sea assault forces that have started to take the North Korean Armories, Command and Control and Airports. While the ground units started opening fire on fixed North Korean defenses as they rolled into Najin Naval Base and started to open fire on the North Korean defenders.

The first seaborne assaults units to get to the beach is the Imperial French 9th Marine Light Armor Brigade to secure the assault landing zones for the rest of the seaborne forces that is going to be helping the ground forces of the Eastern Russian Federation 5th and 35th Combined Arms Armies units.

As both ground and seaborne assault units started to gain ground the North Korean defenders that started to fight back with RPGs, AK-47s and other weapons as they didn't have any major anti-armor or artillery units to take the assaulting units head on. As the North Koreans attacked the ground units from the Eastern Russian Federation Army not alot of them noticed the attacks from the sea by the seaborne units. Many of the French 9th Marine Light Armor Brigade leading the way for the British Royal Marine 3rd Commando Brigade, Korean 1st Marine Division and Russian 55th Naval Infantry Division started to land in the area around the Najin Naval Base and started their drive to Najin and the surrounding areas.

With the ongoing battle with the units from the Russian's 5th and 35th Armies attacking in full force to take control of the Najin Naval Base as fast as possible. With this happening the seaborne attack units went for the most part unnoticed for the most part because of the heavy assault already launching at them with the overpowering force of Russian Armor. As then the Bombers and Attack Aircrafts started their run on targets of high interests to the attacking forces. So with the fire power being provided by this force should have the Najin Naval Base and surrounding areas to put a thorn in the side of the side of the North Koreans'.

The Royal Navy (Pacific Station), Eastern Russian Federation 1st Naval Fleet, Imperial French Navy (Pacific Station), South Korean Navy 9th Task Group, Imperial Japanese Navy (5th Task Force) has started to attack the naval forces in the Najin Naval Base to show the North Koreans that nowhere they have a base or forces are safe from the power and might of the UCF.

OPERATION JOINT ATTACK

As the North Korean’s I and V Corps drove into the Gangwon Province and the United Citizen’s Federation Forces where there to hold the line long enough, they could slow them down and start a counter attack against the North Korean’s and for a change drive them to the defensive and to protect their home country. So, when most of the British, French and Japanese Forces were in position the UCF artillery started to rain down on the North Korean forces like lighting from the God of War. The UCF artillery was guided by laser targeting and GPS on to the top of the North Korean Tanks and APCs. When this going the UCF Anti Armor Helicopters and Attack Aircrafts begin to make runs on the North Korean supply lines and there on the major armor units in the path of the UCF’s counter attack force of the South Korean First Army, British 1st Armored and 3rd Mechanized Divisions, Japanese 7th Armored and 2nd Infantry Divisions, and French 2nd Armored, 7th Armored and 3rd Motorized Brigades. Starting to drive at the North Korean’s across the entire front at the same time right under the cover of heavy artillery fire. As this was going on the UCF’s Naval Forces lying of the eastern coast of North and South Korea. The Navy assets begin to open fire onto the major North Korean Corp and Divisional Headquarters to put the command structure into a panic and not to let them have anyway to counter the UCF’s attack on their forces. Because of the way the North Korean’s attacked they left there flank open to attack so the South Korean Second Army had their XI Corps, along with the South Korean 3rd Army Mobile Forces drove into the western side of the North Korean’s Flank and begin to cut the lines of communication off and disrupt the North Korean Supply lines and to also link up with the other major UCF forces that are driving up in the Gangwon Province.

The Showdown in Gangwon Province:

The North Korean’s knew that as soon as the first tank drove across or the first foot soldier steeped across the new DMZ [OCC Note: Remember, I have already advanced some 5 to 10 miles past the current DMZ of today] to kick off the new offensive, the United Citizens Federation would responded with a vast and imposing force of enormous size to counter the North Koreans. It was as if by magic, that within just the first few hours of the invasion almost as on cue, the United Citizens Federation had responded just as the North Koreans had predicted they would. The enemies of the North Korean people were happily following the plan that had been unknowingly set out for them. Whether, the United Citizens Federation and it’s allies the South Koreans realized it or not, their fate was in the hands of the DPRK guiding them towards their ultimate objective. It was either victory or death for the North Koreans, their would be no middle ground. They would either achieve victory and the conquest of the entire Korean Peninsula or death and cease to exist as a nation as a people.

Not long after the offensive opened up, the North Koreans began to realize they had achieved almost complete surprise with the majority of South Korean First Army and it’s allied support deployed to the rear areas. Still even with surprise on their side their were only two armored brigades plus a few armored battalions assigned to each infantry division to lead the advance and turn the initial surprise into long range success. However, even though the amount of armor was limited in exploiting a breakthrough and thereby limiting the pace of the advance. With a clear superiority in infantry over the South Koreans and their allies, this worked to the North Koreans advantage fighting in the mountainous and wooded terrain of Gangwon Province where the infantry would be doing most of the fighting anyway given the terrain. Supporting the armor and infantry during the first few hours of the offensive was the North Korean Air Force with it’s Hong H-5 bombers and Mig-23 fighter-bombers. Once, the UCF air support come into play after the initial surprise faded the North Korean Air Force once again went into limited hit and run attacks across the border with the majority of the aircraft remaining in North Korea airspace. What good was armor when it become bottled up and easy pickings to Anti-tank guided missiles launched from both enemy ground forces or aircraft of various types. By the end of the first day of the offensive, nearly an additional 30 miles of Gangwon Province had been captured from the already 5 miles held. The major cities of Kansong, Ch’olwon, Tongsong and Kimhwa had been captured in additional to the minor city of Haean. Losses had been confined to few thousand dead and wounded.

By the end of the first day of the offensive the North Koreans had reached the outskirts of the cities of Shinch’olwon, Whach’on, Yanggu and Inje, the following week saw the capture of those cities by the North Koreans, but after that the North Korean V Corps was not able to make any more headway in the west of Gangwon Province, but actually to lose ground as the UCF’s forces launched a major counterattack all along the front. The east, however was an entire matter all together as the I Corps and it’s supporting arms reached the gates of Sokch’o city on the second day of the advance and by the end of the week had captured it, though at great cost in men and material. What had allowed the North Koreans to achieved so much in so little time were five factors. The first and foremost, was the terrain which limited the ability to hit precise targets from the air. The second and most effective, was a simple tactic the North Koreans used to exploit their numerical superiority-close in on the enemy from all directions. With both friend and foe cluster together, it made the use of Close Air Support useless without causing immense casualties to South Korean and other UCF forces. Third, was the use of massive amounts of anti-aircraft fire and shoulder launched surface to air missiles to protect against low flying aircraft. Many, South Korean and other UCF aircraft were shot down and their crews captured when they flew to close to the North Koreans lines in their support for the South Korean ground forces. Fourth, was the switching of an armored spearhead to an infantry one on the second day with the armored brigades being transferred to the rear to support the infantry and react to a counterattack if and when it came, as the North Koreans knew one would come sooner or later and in all likelihood it would be sooner then expected. Last, but not least was that most of the advance by the third day was conducted at night to throw off the South Koreans and their allies.

As word came up the chain of command, that the South Koreans and their allies were deploying their armor assets-the North Koreans began the task of advancing their tanks into known enemy positions, then pulling them back under a cover of smoke and finally redeploying obsolete or fake tanks that were then destroyed by the enemy. While, this tricky wouldn’t work forever, in the meantime this tactic was falsely deceiving the United Citizens Federation units into believing that they had in fact destroyed the majority of the North Korean armor in the various armor battles they had engaged in. Battles, that for all practical purposes didn’t exist as the armored brigades and some of their supporting elements had been deployed into the rear by the time the Infantry armored battalions had ran into the armor of UCF units.

As the North Korean units advanced and simply surrounded areas of high resistance, the South Koreans began to do what seem to many North Koreans as simple suicide on their part. They began to deploy lightly armed transports helicopters into the cutoff areas to evacuate their wounded and resupply those still fighting. Wherever, possible the North Koreans would simply wait for the chopper to land, drop off their supplies and lift off with their wounded. What would follow could best be described as simply one massacre after another, as one helicopter after another was shot down with hits from multiple directions all at the same time. Other times, the North Koreans would simply fire a few Air-Burst Artillery rounds into the land areas not only damaging or destroying the helicopters, but injuring untold numbers of enemy personal. Eventually, the South Koreans got wise and stop the resupply and evacuation missions along the hold-outs near the DMZ. While, it was bloody for the North Koreans to capture all these strongholds-their acquiring led to the capture of both enemy personnel, their weapons of various types and their supplies [food, water, ammunition so on...]. Though tens of thousands of North Korean personnel were dead or wounded, these weapons and supplies added a needed boost to the North Korean war effort.

Soon, the North Korean special forces would make their presence known....very soon...

Najin Naval Base:

OCC: Just to let you know ahead of time, I’m not acknowledging your Eastern Russian Federation Navy as you still haven’t explain how you exactly got them. Bought them from Russia, stole the designs so you could build your own versions or bought the designs from Russia as those are the only three ways you could have them. As Vladivostok and the surrounded area that you own does not have a major shipbuilding facility to build the ships you have listed nor any major arms manufacturing centers as far as I can tell.

As the battle of Najin began to get underway and it become clear to the North Koreans that the UCF forces were hellbent on capturing Najin Naval base and the surrounding area, it was decided that rather then lose thousands of lives defending a now worthless base. It would be better to simply abandon the base to the enemy. However, before the base would be abandon a nasty surprise would be left for the enemy, if they wanted the base so bad they could have it. While, the evacuation of all military personnel and as much military equipment as possible from the base was proceeding, the battle ranged all around-in the air, on the sea and on the ground. All that was needed was some time and so began the North Koreans task of delaying the enemy only long enough to complete the evacuation of Najin.

On the ground, ambushes were set up at every possible choke point imaginable. As the Russian 5th and 35th Armies quickly advanced unto the town of Songbong and then Najin through the mountain passes, they would soon come to realize that they had walked right into a trap. In their hurry, they had ignored the one thing that could disable their tanks, APCs or IFVs-a simple landmine. As a convey of vehicles whatever type they may be, drove through the mountain passes once that first vehicle exploded-hell would be unleashed. While, the leading vehicle might not always be destroyed, even if it was damaged the result would be the same-a roadblock. Once that first vehicle was taken out, the North Koreans would without warning pounce on the rear of the convey attacking the weaker parts of the rear vehicles first and if time permissible the vehicles in the middle of the convey. Within minutes and after untold destruction had been visited upon the Russian-UCF forces, the North Koreans would disengage and simply melt into the countryside before the enemy could bring to bear air or artillery support. Over and Over again, ambush after ambush was visited upon the Russian-UCF forces advancing down unto Najin. By, the time the enemy had caught on to what was going on-the North Koreans had bought the time they needed. The city and Naval Base of Najin had fallen into enemy hands, but not for long.

With the successful evacuation of the remaining Naval assets to Puam-ni and all military forces set up on the new Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong defensive line, the countdown for the surprise of a lifetime had began. With thousands of enemy troops pouring into Najin, the enemy was about to feel the true power of the North Korean war machine. If, the North Koreans couldn’t have Najin neither could the enemy. At 9:05 P.M., the Najin Naval Base cease to exist on the map. It was at that moment, hidden from view-a nuclear weapon with a yield of 12 Kilotons reached the end of it’s preset countdown and detonated. The following flash could be seen for miles and if the North Koreans had taught their enemies one thing it was that this would be a fight to the death. Whatever the resulting losses were to the enemy did not matter, whether the enemy would be delayed did not matter, though they most certainly would be delayed in someway. What matter was the North Koreans had made their message loud and clear.

As the new defensive line was set up, reinforcements were beginning to get underway to slow and then stop the enemy. For now they had only been stopped, but the North Koreans high command knew it wouldn’t be long before the enemy would double their efforts to defeat them. For now, the North Koreans had the advantage, but that wouldn’t last long and to make sure they keep the advantage as long as possible the 425th Mechanized Corps was released from the strategic reserve and sent on it’s way to defending the Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong line. In the meantime, over 1 million men and women from the reserves had flooded into the ranks of the North Korean armed forces and that was just the beginning.

Operation Joint Defense:

As the slow, methodical advance into Gangwon Province continued-over on the western front the heavy shelling of Seoul and the surrounding area continued unabated. Once, it become clear that UCF forces had launched a massive counterattack all along the front of the 1st and 5th Corps-the order was given for those units fighting in Gangwon Province to fall back to more defeasible locations along the Kansong-Haean-Kimhaw/P’yonggang line. All that had been fought hard for and achieved in the past week now had to be abandon to the enemy again. Though the armored formations had been placed in the rear, this had left the Armored Personnel Carriers and Infantry Fighting Vehicles of the North Korean Ground Forces out in the front and they suffered accordingly-with hundreds if not thousands destroyed or damaged. A small price to pay to keep the armored formations up to strength and ready for battle should they be called to action. As if they had nothing better do, the UCF forces were once again trying to destroy the command and control of the North Korean Ground forces-a task the North Koreans figured the UCF forces would have learnt by now was impossible and yet here they were at it again. It would have been a shame had the North Koreans not complied with their enemy wishes at least this once. So to make their enemies job easier, the North Koreans allowed a few gaps to develop in their lines south of P’yonggang and give their advisories a clear line of advance into North Korea along the P’yonnggang front. As this was going on the UCF forces struck along the western flank of V Corps, which only added to the image that the command and control of the North Korean ground forces had collapsed along the portion of V Corps’s front and thereby could be exploited to open up a larger gap. By the time the enemy figured out what was really happening it would be to late. With the enemy finally responding to the invasion of Gangwon Province, the almost constant shelling of Seoul and the surrounding area that had been going on for weeks was finally slowed and then all together stopped, both to save ammo and allow those supplies of ammunition to be redirected to those units of the North Korean army fighting in Gangwon Province. By all accounts the enemy would think the North Koreans were finally on the defensive, unknown to them this was merely a trap that they wouldn’t see coming until it was to late.

With the nuclear release in the Najin Naval Base Area destroying a major North Korean port. As the United Citizen's Federation use of weapons of mass destruction as just be violated with the North Koreans' Nuclear Release against their military forces. With this going on the Sky Marshal in Chief James MacKenzie as order the use of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons as well as other weapons of mass destruction on any and all North Korean Military and Industrial complexes. When this order came down the line the British and French Forces started to launch nuclear missiles at Pyongyang.

On other fronts the UCF Forces started to use chemical and biological warfare on the North Koreans, also the UCF Forces have started to run a scorched earth policy towards the North Korean Military. The Aircraft of the UCF have been loaded with Naplam and other major fire and cluster bombs. The orders have also to begin a major counter attack along the whole front. Orders have also been sent out to begin shooting and killing all major North Korean military and political personnel.

Ok I have told you that the Russian Pacific Fleet is stationed at Vladivostok as its HQ. And there for that is how we got the Eastern Russian Navy and other military forces from the Far East Military District.

Forgive me, but this is the first time I can remember you telling me how you acquired those vessels and other military forces. If I missed your post on the matter or just wasn't paying attention I'm sorry. With that matter resolved I'm moving on to the next one. After doing a little fact checking, some of the vessels you have listed are not based in Vladivostok and hence when you acquired the territory you would not have acquired those vessels and as such you need to remove them from your list. As you seem to not have renamed them as far as I can tell-you can compare what’s in Vladivostok to what you have listed for yourself. I would start at wikipedia and I also know of another site you can use as a reference if need be.

As for your use of a nuclear weapon your got to known that you should have cleared that with me first. As you have also not really read my posts about counter attacks and also my counter battier fire. I have also been attacking most of your air defense and command and control positions. But because of the use of nuclear weapons I will now start attacking with chemical, nuclear and other weapons that does real damage.

I don't remember you stating anything to that fact when we started. However, that said if you have a major problem with the use of the Nuclear Weapon I can edit it's use out. It was a low yield to begin with and substituting the nuclear weapon for something else with the same effect wouldn't be that difficult.

I read your posts multiple times, I think I did a good job in responding to your counter attacks and counter battery fire. Thousands dead, hundreds of vehicles destroyed-the front line being pushed backed and an opening developing in the front line. What more specifically would you like to see?

North Korea really doesn't have an air defense per say and most of your posts for that matter has been focused on SEAD and CAS operations. As for Command and Control positions-I made a point in explaining that in my last post if you care to read above. Clue: It's located middle paragraph in the Operational Joint Defense part. If, your still having trouble finding it I'll be glad to point it out to you next time I post.

Singular-I've only used one nuclear weapon as from my research North Korea has a max of no more then 6-12 of them and in all likelihood most of them don't work if their test in Oct 2006 is any indication. Your free to turn North Korea into a nuclear wasteland if you want, but then you have to live with the future consequences of that action-I don't. North Korea is a Rogue state, they don't have to play by the rules or worry about international relations at this point. On the other hand, you do. Besides, turning North Korea into a wasteland devoid of life kind of goes against you wanting to capture it, don't you think.

In closing, don't be mad when after your attacks North Korea launches it's own WMDs at you. That's MAD for you. [Mutual assured destruction] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_assured_destruction)

Also, I'm planning on posting a map up of what the front line looks like both after the offensive and after your counterattack began.

OOC: As for my Eastern Russian Federation Navy I used this link:
http://www.hazegray.org/worldnav/russia/

Because some of the ships are in ports around Vladivostok which full into my area in Russia. Some of the ships have no homeport listed so therefore I used Vladivostok as it default homeport. I used most of the names that are there on that link but I did put some names.

As for the Nuclear Release it would only be on a limited base, so I have edited it to just have Nuclear Missiles at Pyangyong as for the release of Chemical or Biological Weapons I am not going to change that just yet right now. I am going to be releasing either CS, Muster or someother form of Chemical weapons as for Biological Weapons I am not going to release them but they have been given the ok if it is used against the UCF.

2. Front Line during/in response to the attacks (http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/6413/koreanmap1hj6.jpg)

As you can see, the front line has been pulled/pushed back quite a bit in the east while remaining constant in the west throughout in the west.

That's it for now-as soon as I get some more time I should have a post up about your Eastern Russian Federation Navy that will allow us to compare notes.

Operational Starting Point
Munsan Area
Military Objectives
P’yongsan
Surrounding area

With the battles going on in the Gangwon Province with the South Korean First Army and other major Allied Forces in that province. So, with this going on that United Citizen’s Federation Joint Command seen this as the opportunity to begin a major operation against the North Korean forces to the north of Munsan very soon. As the battle in the east started to wage a better conflict between the two military forces in the area. The South Korean Third Army started to move up major units to the Munsan Area with other Major Allied Forces started to move into the area and the South Korean Second Army had there Divisions fill the Capital Defense positions, so that all the major units in the Third Army could be placed on the front line for this major assault. Well the UCF military forces started to move into the area there was a major push by the South Korean First Army and other Allied Military Forces into the Gangwon Province and hopefully to Kangwon-Do Province. When the major thrust of the forces into the North Korean’s I and V Corps areas was the same time that Operation “North Thrust” begin to open fire on North Korean Defensive Positions across the DMZ. As the UCF Armor Assault started to push north of the Munsan Area. The artillery units would open fire for about 10 minutes and then move to the next position, so to keep up with the armored assault. The British 3rd Mechanized Division, French 7th Armored Brigade and 1st Tank Group, South Korean 30th Mechanized Division, South Korean Capital Mechanized Infantry Division, South Korean 26th Mechanized Division, South Korean 1st Armored Brigade, South Korean 2nd Armored Brigade, South Korean 5th Armored Brigade and South Korean VII Corps started to push into the North Korean IV Army Corps, North Korean 815th Mechanized Corps, North Korean 820th Armored Corps while this was going on the North Koreans were caught off guard from this type of attack from the UCF. The UCF forces used Depleted Uranium APFSDS (Armored Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot) and tungsten steel (APFSDS - TS) rounds on the North Korean Armored and APCs to knock them out as soon as they begin to come into the firing range of the UCF Armored and APCs to fire as they bear. Because of the longer range of the UCF Armored Units have on the North Korean aging Armored Units.

The UCF’s Major Air Force units started to drop cluster bombs on to the Armored Formations of the North Koreans to help soften them up along with the other laser guided bombs into major supply depots for the North Korean’s across the conflict zone. As the North Korean Air Defense Forces started to light up the sky with the triple AAA and SAM taking out some of the UCF aircraft, but many of the Major North Korean Supple Depots and other major war-fighting industrial complexes have been destroyed by the UCF.

As the armor units pushing up into the North Korean Forces with a great speed the APCs and IFVs have started to deploy infantry to fight with North Korean Infantry. As the infantry started to clear the APCs and IFVs they began to come under fire from the North Korean Infantry with machine guns and RPGs killing many before the APCs and IFVs started to open fire and to put themselves between North Koreans and UCF Infantry. As they have been doing this in waves to deploy and cover the infantry to advance with them too. So they can provide some close armored support for the infantry.

With in hours of the operation kicked off the UCF Forces have got into the heart of the city of Kaesong that is when North Koreans started to hit the UCF Forces harder. But the UCF Forces to started to fire on the North Korean Military Forces with great force to have them begin to fall back from the city of Kaesong.

OCC: Just a few clarifications

1. Have you use nuclear weapons on any part of North Korea. One post has you declaring your use of them and another stating your not. Which is it? If you have attacked North Korea with nukes-what did you specifically target. I need to know if I am to give a good reply on the damage and destruction done.

2. Some good news for you, the 820th Armored Corps and 815th Mechanized Corps are in the reserve or along a different part of the line. So, your Northern Thrust is at the moment only attacking the North Korean IV Corps and the units specify along the Munsan perimeter.

3. Your forces are already in the Gangwon Province. I think you mean your starting a major push to get North Korean forces out of Gangwon? If so, good luck with that. But, don’t expect me to make it easy for you. :D

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Munsan Perimeter: With such overwhelming firepower on their side, it was a miracle the North Korean defensive line around Munsan held as long as it did (OCC: Say a few hours at most?). Caught almost completely off-guard, the North Korean high command could only look on in horror as the Munsan line melted into nothing. One thing was certain though, the enemy was on the move and hitting hard. One only needed to read reports coming from Gangwon province to see that the UCF had finally made up it’s mind about what to do. It was now committed to the offensive, pure and simple. Why the timing for it’s attack had come at an unexpected moment, there was at least one benefit to be gained by the UCF’s attack. The North Korean’s were no longer the attacker and all the disadvantages this brought against a technologically superior foe.

While, the Munsan line was gone-it’s lost wasn’t of great concern to the North Korean high command as the Munsan line was never intended to be a main line of resistance and was only lightly held to give advance warning of an attack. Those units and personnel that managed to retreat back to Kaesong and it’s surrounding fortifications, joined those already there specifically assigned to defend Kaesong and the surrounding area. As a vital road and rail network, it’s holding by North Korean forces was paramount. As such, thousands of loyal North Korean soldiers stood their ground and stopped cold the initial advance just outside the city of Kaesong. Thousands more loyal North Korean soldiers were ready to due their duty to defend Kaesong itself or come to the aid of their comrades on the outskirts. Thousands more of North Koreans loyal soldiers were throughly dug in and around the city. If the UCF wanted the city, they would have to take it by force and that the North Koreans had made sure of would not be such an easy task.

Gangwon Province: The line held, more or less. When and where the enemy attacked, the North Koreans would conduct a fighting withdraw and when the timing was appropriate would launch a counterattack from multiple directions to retake the lost ground. If the enemy wanted to drive the North Koreans out from Gangwon Province, the enemy would need to do more then throw a few divisions/armies at them.

The Air War: Though unable or unwilling to project airpower into and around the DMZ, the North Koreans couldn’t help, but be amused as the UCF aircraft continued their relentless bombing of nothing. Whether it was abandon vehicles [tanks, apcs, ifvs so on...] or make shift supply depots, the UCF was determined it seem to destroy the very things the North Koreans had little use for. Still, it did provide the average North Korean soldier a moment of joy watching the daily night show and it’s responding chorus.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

OCC4: Nobody’s intelligence is that bad, wait I take that back. Anyway, to get this moving faster and finish this war up-would you like to know where my supply depots and industrial complexes are so you can at least start bombing something of value? Also, in the future could you state specify where you attacked whether it be from the air or on the ground. Just saying I attacked your industrial targets doesn’t contribute anything, where did you attack [location, location, location-is the target in a major city or somewhere on the outskirts or are you attacking in the middle of nowhere so on and so on...], what did you attack with (what type of plane-bomb), what were you attacking or trying to destroy/damage [A power plant?, a factory of some kind? What?]. These things I need to know, if I am going to determine and responded to the attacks in questions. I’m not asking you to write a whole paragraph just give me a sentence or two with some details.

Bad example (Yours): Other major war-fighting industrial complexes have been destroyed by the UCF.

Analysis: Are you sure they’ve been destroyed? Where are these supposedly destroyed sites? Are they all in Najin or are they spread throughout the country? If so, specify where? What major industrial complexes were you trying to destroy? If, you haven’t stated specify what you were attacking, then I can’t very well determined if it’s destroyed/damaged or not can I?

Remember, the devil is in the details.

Good Example (Mine): With it’s overwhelming use of airpower, the UCF with it’s F-15s, F-16s, Eurofighters and Tornados subjected the major cities and then the minor cities all along the DMZ under North Korean control to a massive bombardment aimed at destroying command and control centers where possible, communications buildings and factories of all kinds. From there, the UCF aircraft would switch over to targets such as supply depots, bridges/roads/rails and wherever possible, the North Korean forces themselves and their equipment.

Analysis: While, I could of gone into more detail [Example-how many aircraft were involved in the attacks]. The example I wrote, gives at least the necessary information needed to determine if the attacks were successful or not. (A. Where was the attack [Cities along the DMZ] (B. What was attacked. From there you can added more information as you like, always a plus. However, I at least needed to know A and B to determine the results. This I cannot stress enough.

With the newly formed Military Alliance, between the People's Republic, and The United Citizens Federation. The People's Liberation Army has begun preparations for the land invasion, of the allotted 45 kilometers of North Korea. This front is to meet heavy resistance from the Korean People's Army VIII Army Corps, and the VI Army Corps. However, due to the lack of modern military equipment, the Korean military should be all but swept away by the mighty PLA, 16th Group Army, and 39th Group Army. These massive military units will be ordered to cross the Yalu River within the next 24 hours, beginning the long fight for the people of North Korea. Supporting the 16th and 39th will be the Shenyang Military Region Air Force. These Air divisions will provide air support in the form of ground attack as well as air to air combat in the coming days. Recent intelligence reports of the KPA, indicate that the KPAAF airpower is very limited. It supports a good deal of outdated airframes and very few modern ones, and the condition of these modern airframes, due to lack of funding is debatable. The PLAAF should have no problem wiping out the KPAAF. On the ground the KPA is only equipped with outdated tanks and infantry equipment that is no match for the PLAGF. Outnumbered, and outgunned the PLA will drive through North Korea like A flame through and ant hill.

Yalu River, Chinese Side

The 16th Group army waited patiently for the order to cross the Yalu River. The 3 massive divisions and support units sat just a mile away from the Korean boarder. Tanks, Trucks, and armored vehicles sat in wait to make the trek into enemy territory. The 16th’s companion unit, the 39th also sat in wait, some ways to the east preparing to cross the dry part of the Chinese/North Korean boarder. The men grew restless as the order for the advance seemed to loom in the far distance. However sooner, rather than later, the order for the advance would come. At noon the commanders of the 21st Air Division were ordered to send their fighters into Korean airspace, officially beginning the North Korean Conflict Chinese front. The Su-27 Air-Superiority Fighter Aircraft, Su-30MKK Multirole Fighter Aircraft, JF-17 Multirole Fighter Aircraft, and J-10 Multirole Fighter Aircraft screamed ahead into the enemy airspace. Their respective groups broke off and began to complete assigned missions to attack any Anti Air emplacements, enemy aircraft still on the ground, and concentrations of enemy ground forces. This was also on top of destroying any enemy aircraft in the air. With these task complete the 16th and 39th would be cleared to move in. The North Koreans would not know what hit them.

'Operation Starvation'

With the war with North Korea going on for a better part of a year now and the UCF Command Staff having launched many different raids and intelligence gathering missions to find out where the North Korean Grain Storage Facilities, so that they could send as many aircraft to attack and destroy them, so that North Korea would start to starve from the lack of food.

The Japanese Air Self Defense Forces launched a mass air attack on the South P'yongan Province with some 283 aircraft to destroy some 37 different Grain Storage Facilities including the ones in Yangdok and Yonggang Counties. The aircraft range from F-15J to F-2A and they were armed with different weapons from GBU-24 Paveway III to AIM-9 Sidewinders to protect and also to destroy their targets and return to their air bases to rearm and to go out for another mission against other North Korean Targets.

The Republic of Korea Air Force launched a mass air attack on North P'yongan Province with some 553 aircraft to destroy some 39 different Grain Storage Facilities including the ones in Kusong City and Pakchon County. The aircraft range from F-15K Slam Eagle to F-5E and they were also armed with different weapons from GBU-24 Paveway III to AIM-9 Sidewinders to protect and also to destroy their targets and return to their air bases to rearm and to go out for another mission against other North Korean Targets.

The Royal Air Force and Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm also launched a mass air attack on South Hamgyong Province with some 120 aircraft to destroy some 28 different Grain Storage Facilities including the ones at Hamju and Yonggwang Counties. The aircraft is Tornado GR4, Typhoon F3 and Harrier GR9. The Tornadoes and Harriers were armed with PAVEWAY II, PAVEWAY III,
ENHANCED PAVEWAY, PAVEWAY IV, and MAVERICKS. The Typhoons F3 were armed with ASRAAM, AMRAAM, and Storm Shadow / SCALP EG Cruise Missile to protect and also to destroy their targets and return to their air bases to rearm and to go out for another mission against other North Korean Targets.

The French Air Force and French Naval Air Force also launched a mass air attack on Pyongyang with some 539 aircraft to destroy some 13 different Grain Storage Facilities including the ones at Yonggong District. The aircraft included Super Etendard to Mirage F1CT armed with a multitude of different air to air and air to surface weapons to protect and also to destroy their targets and return to their air bases to rearm and to go out for another mission against other North Korean Targets.

As all these missions were launched from bases in South Korea, Japan, HMS Ark Royal and the Charles de Gaulle in the Korea Conflict Zone. These is the largest attack of it's kind in a long time. These missions were also launched at the same time to over whelm the air defense but as this was going on massive Jamming Aircraft started to jam the North Korean Air Defense Command.

With the war with North Korea going on for a better part of a year now

Slow done their buddy, I'm still at the two to three week point waiting for you to figure out what you going to do in relation to the Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong defensive line I have set up in Northern North Korea, my defense of Kaesong and you still haven't fully repulsed me from Gangwon Province.

I'm willing to speed this up as much as you are, but a year is pushing it. How about we try no more then a month at the most, first.

OOC: MC and I have an agreement, so I need you to please RP North Korea. My planes have crossed over the boarder and they are attacking emplacements. See the IC post above.

See post #25.

You have my word that, I will honor yours and MC agreement, once the operations in Northern North Korea, Kaesong and in Gangwon Province are brought to some type of resolve by either me losing, winning or some type of draw. This will allow me to roleplay North Koreans response to your attack building up and not just coming out of nowhere as it is now, which is unrealistic. I think that is only fair. A resurgent China is not exactly going to go unnoticed by the international world.

Ok what is the time frame of Earth V is a year every week or what that? I figured that with everything that has happen that it would be a year of this long drawn out war that is why I made the statement that I did.

As for my response to the Ch'ongjin-Hoeryong Defensive Line I am just leaving it and my Russian Forces as you have not said one way or not that you accepted these forces.

As for the Kaesong Defensive Perimeter am going to do something special for it.

It is one thing that I don't have to have fully repulsed you form Gangwon Province in order to conduct this major Air Attack on your Grain Storage Area.

While, Earth V's timeframe is 1 week=one year, for roleplays you can set whatever timeframe is needed and in roleplays, slower is better. The problem is if you just skip ahead after a pause from where you left off, it voids everything that was happening before the pause. That equals a bad idea.

I'm fine with you Russian ground forces, it's the majority of your naval vessels I was mostly not accepting. Raising an army from the local population is one thing. Raising an navy from scratch is an matter all together different.

I look forward to hearing what you plan to do to Kaesong. I'm personnally expecting a bloody city battle. ;)

In that case, I'll start working on a reply about your attacks on North Korean's food supply.

Thanks for your quick reply. :)

Well I really didn't build a Russian Fleet out of nothing as the major part of the Russian Pacific Fleet is HQ in Vladivostok and there are other areas that I control in my Russian Area. So most of the Russian Pacific Fleet falls under my command too.

Here is where I did alot of my research from http://www.hazegray.org/worldnav/russia/ and someothers that I can't find the link right off hand.

When looking for ships that I am using look for this PAC: Pacific Fleet, headquarters at Vladivostok.

OCC: The Meteor is not yet in service and won’t be for awhile. 2012 at the earliest.

IC: Though the air defense system of the North Korean military was primitive by modern standards. It was hard to miss a flight of one thousand four hundred and ninety-five aircraft on a heading that would put them directly over the heart of North Korea in less then two hours. Just the sheer size and number of the approaching aircraft would be enough to impress anyone, including the North Koreans. What the North Korean general staff had long been dreading had finally arrived in full force, but honor demanded that no matter how much the odds were stacked against them, they must sally forth to engage their enemy. So, began the battle that would determine the outcome of the Air War in the Second Korean War.

Taking a cue from the Vietnamese Air Force during the Vietnam War, the North Koreans had devised a strategy capable of bringing them victory in the Air or at the least forcing their enemy to rethink their strategy and tactics, thereby buying the North Korean Army time on the field of battle. Knowing that with mostly outdated vintage fighters, the North Korean Air Force was truly in for the fight of it’s life, against the more modern United Citizens Federation aircraft. It was for that very specific reason why the tactic of hit and run attacks, with a slight twist had been decided upon. Still, the North Koreans did have one advantage, they were fighting over friendly territory close to their bases.

Launching just a few squadrons of F-6s, F-7Bs, and Mig-21s at first. The primary target was the incoming French formation, using slash attacks the North Korean fighters would swoop in from multiple directions and using every weapon in their arsenal would seek to damage, destroy or disrupt the formation of the high flying bombers and fighters of the French Air force. If on the first try, the French fighters failed to engaged the squadrons, the North Koreans would swing around for another attack again coming from multiple directions. Losses were expected to be high, but the North Koreans would make the cowardly French pay dearly for every lost North Korean fighter.

OCC2: This is just the first part, depending on how the air battle turns out I let you know how much damage you did in the follow up post.

So, as soon as the F-6s, F-7Bs and MiG-21s launched from their airbases throughout North Korean and as this was happening British E-3D Sentries, French E-3Fs and Japanese E-767s started picking up all the North Korean Aircraft and their plans to go and their planes to jump the French aircraft that were heading for their targets in the North Korean countryside. So, when the French fighters got the word that the North Koreans where planing on throwing them a friendly little party that is when they decided to jump the jumpers and they begin to come up with a plan and then Mirage 2000C, and 2000-5Fs broke off and started to head for the North Korean fighters at their best speed and to bring them in missile range before any of the North Korean fighters could see them on their outdated radars. The French closed to about 50 km of the North Korean fighters and launched their MICA missiles against the North Koreans.

As this was going on French C-160G Gabriel ELINT aircraft, British Nimrod R1 aircraft begin to pick up the plans of the North Koreans to begin opening up on their SAM systems and Radar systems. So, with this going on to help paint all the UCF aircraft that started to move into the North Korean airspace. So, with this expected the South Korean and Japanese Air Forces changed their RF-4C and RF-4E into the Wild Weasel version to start attacking these SAM sites and Radar sites.

While all this was happening that is when UCF Command changed orders and begin an attack on of the North Korean East Coast Airbases. So, with this going on airbases Wonsan, Kowon, Yonpo-ri, Sondok, Toksan, Hwangsuwon-ni, Kilehu, Orang, Chongjin, and Hyonni at the same time, so to catch their targets off base with this type of attack.

Though the North Koreans had succeeded in their plan of drawing a small force of French Aircraft away from their main airgroup, through the UCFs superior missile and radar technology they had made the North Korean air squadrons assigned to that task pay dearly for their success with dozens of F-6s and Mig-21(F-7)s being shot down. Unbeknownst to the UCF, the aircraft they had destroyed and were continuing to chase were not the jumpers they had just jumped, but the decoys. The North Koreans were carefully watching those Mirage aircraft for just the right moment.

Meanwhile, on the ground, dozens of explosions were happening as the UCF aircraft destroyed or damage both the real and decoy SAM and Radar sites. Protecting these sights out of sight of any radars were the remaining F-6 squadrons not assigned to air defense. As soon as the RF-4C/Es pulled out of their attack, a team of F-6s would be immediately on their sixes’s either pumping the enemy aircraft full of hot lead or firing a pair of short-range air-to-air missiles up their tailpipe. With no radar of their own to give away their position, the F-6s were almost entirely undetectable from their position of observation, giving the enemy Wild Weasels no warning of an incoming attack until it was to late.

While, all this was happening, a massive brawling barroom dogfight had begun to take shape in the skies over the East coast North Korean airbases. Having detected and gotten word of the attack, fighters throughout the country had been placed on high alert and launched at the first sign of the incoming enemy aircraft. Concentrating their firepower on the bombers and fighter-bombers, the North Koreans gave as good as they got as they defend their homeland from the brutal enemy bent on their destruction. From the ground, hundreds of SAMs and Anti-aircraft Artillery sites opened up and reached into the heaves to bring the enemy heathens back to the Earth in all their flaming glory.

2: What did you do about the AWACS that would have picked up any aircraft friendly or foe?

3: How many Squadron or number of the three aircraft did you send up so I can do numbers of lost?

OCC:
Little to nothing, North Korea would have at best 1960s to 1970s era radars, expect for a few cases.
Nothing, at the moment as I figured they were beyond my range for the time being. Unless, your willing to bring them into North Korean airspace they should be safe for the most part. BTW, there are various ways of avoiding being detected by Radar. I used just one method that given the right condtions were keep a few of my planes undetected for a short being of time.
So far, about 8 to 10 maybe total. Mostly F-6s with a few Mig-23s and Mig21s. So about a few hundred max. With about a dozen or so already shot down by you.

One more thing I would like to know how you would fire any SAM as they would more less have to work on a Radar the get a target before you fire or you would fire blind into the sky. I can say that your Triple A's would be fine to fire into the sky like that blind as they don't really need Radar unless your using radar guided Triple A.

Also I have only sent Mirage 2000C and 2000-5Fs after your decoys as the rest of the French Fighters and any other fighters would be able to protect Wild Weasels from any attacks from the F-6s that you are sending there way. Also are you going to attack using only using guns as you have stated that they don't have radar and so they would not be able to real fire missiles with out radar to help acquire targets first.

Well, depending on how much jamming is going on in each area, the North Koreans are doing both. Besides, there was a trick the North Vietnamese army used in Vietnam that was pretty effective. All I have to do is turn on the radars for a few minutes at most to get a lock and fire, after that I can turn them off again. Depending on how fast you can react and where your planes are, since you haven't yet achieved air superiority it's a safe bet that radar losses would be little to non-existent using that tactic for the time being. However, I fully intend that if this war keeps going badly that, that tactic will work less and less as time goes on.

You never stated in your original post that you were sending in other fighters to protect the Wild Weasels which sort of defeats the purpose of using Wild Weasels. It doesn't sound like you have read up on what Wild Weasel aircraft do, but that's just an observation. As for the missiles fired by the F-6s. There short range and there using an IR sensor not a radar one. Hence, no radar needed and no interference from Radar Jamming. There also being fired within visually range since that’s what you have to be in to fire the guns.

I would have had I had enough information to determine where those SEAD missions were taking place and what they were attacking. Since, I had neither all I could assume is that your attacks had little to no impact. Hence, the reason for my earlier complaints about like of details.

Also Wild Weasel did work with other fighters to help bring down the SAM and Triple A?

Are you telling me or asking me? Because, if your telling me that your fighters were protecting your Wild Weasels your making a statement and not asking a question. If, your asking me then the answer is no from what I can gather from what you last wrote.

"So, with this going on to help paint all the UCF aircraft that started to move into the North Korean airspace. So, with this expected the South Korean and Japanese Air Forces changed their RF-4C and RF-4E into the Wild Weasel version to start attacking these SAM sites and Radar sites."

1. Enemy aircraft moving into North Korean Airspace. Check!
2. Designated enemy RF-4 Phantoms commencing SEAD/DEAD missions. Check!
3. Location of other enemy aircraft and what their missions are. Unknown, no enemy presence detected. Commence attack on unprotected and unsupported fighters.

I can't read your mind and since you didn't state what your other fighters were doing if any were even in the area they became a non-factor.

Most the aircraft that I have sent into the North Korean Airspace are fighters so as most of them would be there as escort fighters to protect the fighter-bombers or RF-4 doing the SEAD/DEAD missions.

As for the numbers of Escort Fighters there are a total of 830 of them and 610 Attack Fighters.

With most the North Korean Fighters sent up after the French part of the massive air assault. So, when they came to jump the French they were ready for them and were able to jump the North Korean instead of the other way around. Most of the North Korean Fighters that have come to face the French were out-dated and had little radar to really track and take on the French Fighters. But with all this going on and the Japanese and South Korean Wild Weasels started to come under attack from other North Korean Fighters and it was to late as they were in the positions for an attack on the North Korean Air Defenses for the rest of the attack forces coming in for the North Korean Air Fields and Military Bases along the Eastern Coast of North Korea, so to soften them up for a sea-borne attack by forces coming from Japan. So, with North Korean F-6s making their run after the Wild Weasels, so when they become under attack is when they requested help from ROKAF F-16s in the area flying CAP for the massive air assault. So, the F-16s started to line up for shoots on the F-6s before the F-6s started to get a line on the Wild Weasels, but then F-16s got tone lock on the F-6s and open fired on them. The ‘AMRAAMs’ strikes their mark on the F-6s and got most them with their pants down as they didn’t have any warning about the missiles coming at them. So, with more F-6s still trying to close on the Wild Weasels and that is when the F-6s blindly open fire on the Weasels as they had no radar to guide their heat seeking missiles to a target before they launched them. As this was happing is when the F-16s open fired again and finished off the F-6s.

As this was going on the AWACS started to see that many of the North Korean Air Defense Systems started to come online and try to get radar lock on some of the UCF’s Fighters and Fighter-Bombers that were making there runs towards the North Korean Air Fields and Coastal Defenses. When the North Korean Air Defense came online is when the Wild Weasels locked on with the Anti-Radiation Missiles and launched at them with everything they have for the maximum effect on the North Korean Air and Coastal Defenses. This was the precursor of a major UCF ground and sea-borne attack.

While the UCF’s Air Force units down towards the DMZ attacked the North Korean Forces in the south, is the same time when UCF forces started to move towards Ch’ongjin to make a landing there with the Russian 55th Naval Infantry Division, French 9th Marine Light Armored Brigade, South Korean 1st Marine Division and the British 3rd Royal Marine Commando Brigade to make a Landing in Force in Ch’ongjin as to start drawing forces from the Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong Line as to give the Russian 5th and 35th Armies to begin to move into and attack the North Korean Ground Forces before any of the North Korean 425th Mechanized Corps gets into position and defend against the Russians. When everything was in place the Russian 277th Bomber Aviation Regiment (Su-24), 302nd Bomber Aviation Regiment (Su-24), 18th Shturmovik (Assault) Aviation Regiment (Su-25), 187th Shturmovik Aviation Regiment (Su-25) started to attack fixed defense positions in and around Ch’ongjin to soften them up for the landing. 182nd Heavy Bomber Air Regiment (Tu-95MS) and 79th Heavy Bomber Air Regiment (Tu-95MS) started to attack all along the North Korean Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong Line as to soften up positions at the same time as the Russian Artillery Divisions open fired on the North Korean Forces. Also the 14th Spetsnaz Brigade was inserted behind the North Korean Forces by helicopter to attack the North Korean Line of Communication to any Higher Command. As for any Combat Air Patrol was done by 22nd and 23rd Fighter Aviation Regiments (Su-27) to cover any North Korean Fighters that might come up to play with the Russian Forces up here.

While in Gangwon-do the South Korean 1st Army, British 1st Armored Division, Japanese 7th Armored Division, Japanese 11th Infantry Division, French 2nd Armored Brigade and 27th Mountain Brigade started to make drives to retake the land that the North Koreans started to take from their drive south. Well this was going on the whole Joint UCF Eastern Forces started opening fire and attacking all the North Korean I and V Corps from there positions and holdings. The UCF forces were supported by any UCF Naval Forces in the Sea of Japan. The Joint UCF Eastern Forces started to move with their Armored Units at the front of the attack to blow out the North Korean from their positions and keep them moving back into being caught by the attacking forces landing at Tongch-on made up the Japanese Imperial Guards 1st and 2nd Guards Infantry Divisions, 4th Guards Armor Division and 6th Guards Cavalry Division. They will be landing with the help of the Republican Mazda Marine Battalion as its Recon Unit to make sure that everything was cleared out for the landing of the Imperial Japanese Guards.

The Joint UCF Western Forces started to make a push for the North Korean Capital of Pyongyang to bring down the Stalinist Dictatorship and end this war for good. So, the South Korean 3rd Army with the British 3rd Mechanized Division, French 7th Armored Brigade, French 3rd Motorized Brigade, Japanese 2nd Infantry Division, Japanese 5th Infantry Brigade and Japanese 1st Tank Brigade began its push to from the Munsan Perimeter into the North Korean’s side of the DMZ. With this going at the same time the South Korean 2nd Marine Division was making its way up to the city of Ongjin for an assault on the rear of the North Korean’s DMZ units supply and communications lines as to help dislodge them from their positions and bring a quicker end to the war. So, with this push the South Korean’s I Corps and V Corps encircled the city of Kaesong to drive these forces from the city. The two South Korean Corps with the help of attack helicopters began to lay siege to the city with the intent to destroy any military forces in the city as they have been given a notice to surrender but they have not given a reply back to that notice. While the rest of the Joint UCF Forces started to move past the Kaesong Pocket onto the cities of Haeju and P’yongsan as the objectives for this first push into the North Korean’s backyard.

OCC: AWACS aircraft don’t see or in this case detect other radars. Your thinking of Electronic Warfare Aircraft such as the EA-6B Prowler, the EF-111A Raven, etc... The E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) or any AWACS aircraft, role is to carry out airborne surveillance, and command, control and communications (C3) functions for both tactical and air defense forces. Also, nice of you to use my forces as cannon fodder, I’ll make sure to properly thank you later by throwing in a twist. I sure hope you like mutinies. :)

IC [Northern Front and the Air War]: After nearly an hour of terrible losses, the last of what remained of the North Korean air defense fighters returned to their respectable bases of operations. The joint UCF air forces had won their air superiority today, but while defeated the North Koreans were far from beaten. Hundreds of fighters were still available and ready to defend the motherland from the imperialist swine invading their homeland. Still, the battles over the preceding days had shown the North Koreans at least one thing. That they had bit off more then they could chew and that victory was not going to be as easy as they originally had thought. Offensive operations were no longer an option or even possible and subsequently plans were put into motion for a nationwide defensive ring. In the North along the border with the UCF Russia, two new defensive lines had been activated and the existing Ch’ongjin-Musan line reinforced with additional forces. The result of this reorganization of existing forces in the Northern Sector saw the weakening of the Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong line from the main line of resistance to a secondary line lightly held only to give advance warning of an enemy attack. If, the Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong line held for longer then a few hours it would be a miracle. In case the Ch’ongjin-Musan line was breached and it was expected to be sooner or later, a fall back secondary line known as the Orang-Yonsa line would present a united front until the secondary main line of resistance known as the Kimch’aek-Hyesan line become the main line of resistance.

The sudden massive attack on Ch’ongjin could be the signal for only one thing. The enemy was preparing to launch a massive assault on the now defunct Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong line. Whether the enemy realized they were attacking a weaken sector of the front remained to be seen, but the North Koreans wouldn’t have to wait long for the enemy to realized they had underestimated them. Whether by accident or design, the almost wholesale destruction of Ch’ongjin had turned the city into a defenders wet dream. [OCC: See the destruction of Monte Cassino and Stalingrad as perfect examples as to why destroyed cities or buildings make great defensive locations.] With the breach of the Ch’ongjin-Hoeryong line and the amphibious assault on Ch’ongjin, the forces manning the Orang-Yonsa line were placed on high alert and the strategic reserves ready to responded at a moments notice. Meanwhile, the battle being waged in and around Ch’ongjin was some of the most bloodiest and ferocious fighting not seen since the heyday of World War II. Both sides were suffering heavy losses as the joint UCF forces slowly chewed their way forward inch by inch, yard by yard. It was only through sheer numbers and force of will that the UCF forces were able to make any headway at all. The destruction of Ch’ongjin was proving to be a major miscalculation for the UCF forces.

Once it was discovered that the UCF had slipped Special Forces in the form of the 14th Spetsnaz Brigade behind their lines, the North Koreans responded in kind by releasing their operational reserves based in and around the two rear-echelon defensive lines to deal with the pesky invaders. Assisting the North Korean Army in their task were their own Special Forces that had been sent into the area for such an eventually. With the enemy force for the most part contained by the mountainous terrain, the 14th Spetsnaz Brigade prove little more then a thorn in the side of the North Korean high command.

Part 2

Southern Front and the attack on Tongch-on
Having committed it’s forces to the defensive mind set, the North Korean High Command made the decision to bring it’s forces home. All forces on foreign soil were immediately ordered to fall back to the DMZ line. To cover the withdraw without undo exposing it’s forces to a enemy attack in it’s rear before the new line could be manned, a massive artillery barge was used against known enemy positions to give the illusion that a massive attack was about to be launched. In addition to the artillery barge to cover it’s withdraw, the entire operation was done at night. Hopefully, the combination of darkness and the artillery would throw the enemy off balance long enough to allow the North Korean forces to withdraw without undo harm, but if not the North Koreans were prepared to put up heavy resistance as they fell back in a fighting withdraw.

Though an initial shock to the North Koreans, the landing at Tongch-on was not entirely unexpected. For weeks, the North Koreans had been building up the defenses along the East Coast and now for the first time those defense preparations were about to be put to the test. The North Koreans were dug in and dug in deep, whatever the enemy decided to throw at them they would be ready to handle. To ensure the city of Tongch-on was held, the 9th Mechanized Corps was dispatched to assist the brave North Korean soldiers defending their homeland from the imperialistic swine that was the UCF. Supporting the troops at sea was the NKPAN fleet of hundreds of fast attack craft and missiles boats launched from the Munch'on (Wonson) and Changjon (Kuum-ni) Naval Bases. In addition, attacks were conducted on the assault ships from the remaining North Korean submarines operating in the area along with shore based defenses in the form of Surface-to-Surface missiles such as the Styx, Samlet and Silkworm.

Republican Mazda Marine Battalion
Leader of the Battalion speaking, “I’m sorry Sir, but we have received no such order and I’m afraid I can’t comply with your request for assistance. Your welcome to contact my superiors, but until we receive further orders or clarification. We have only been told to prepare to depart. [OCC: I guess your not aware of it, but I put up a post about a month or so ago officially declaring my withdraw from the EATO alliance. As part of that withdraw includes the return of all Republican forces aboard. I would highly suggest you read my post as it explains more.]

The loss of Kaesong, Ongjin and the launch of Operation Sickle
With the commitment to the decision to fall back, holding the city of Kaesong no longer made any strategic sense. Now all that needed to be done was to break out of the siege before it was to late. Greatly assisting this possibility for a successful outcome was the sheer amount of North Korean forces located in the Kaesong pocket along with the weak hold the UCF currently had on the area not to mention what a surprise the sudden change of tactics would be to the enemy. To make sure the greatest amount of friendly forces made it back safely behind friendly lines, the 815th Mechanized Corps was sent towards Kaesong to wedge open an avenue of advance or in case retreat. Simultaneous as the 815th Mech Corps launched it’s assault, the entire Kaesong army would launch an breakout attempt directed entirely towards the city of Haeju and the defensive line being set up there. With the entire army withdraw from Kaesong, the Kaesong army would conduct a fighting withdraw, if needed until it could hook up with the 815th Mechanized Corps. Whereupon the 815th Mechanized Corps would conduct the expected fighting withdraw until both forces were behind the new defensive line. Providing air cover to the I and 815th Mech Corps would be the 55th, 4th, 11th and other air regiments. Though the city of Kaesong was to be abandoned, a few very nasty surprises were left for the enemy to encounter.

The fall of Ongjin to the enemy was quite quickly as the North Koreans had never expected an enemy attack in the area and hence had only about a division worth of soldiers defending the entire area. Still, the enemy was about to stumble upon one of the best kept secrets of the North Korean army. For weeks, the North Koreans had been building up secretly at night a massive amount of units at small intervals to avoid detection for a amphibious assault at a point of their choosing somewhere along the west coast. With the call off of all offensive operations, the operation had been canceled and the units in question being prepared to be deployed to new sectors of the front when the invasion and loss of Ongjin took place. It was these units that would now be tasked with recapturing Ongjin and the surrounding area that had been lost to the enemy. Before the enemy realized what hit him it would be too late as they were driven back into the sea by overwhelming force. A massive hammer blow was soon to follow in the form of the 820th Armor Corps supported by the 28th Infantry division on loan from IV Corps. Around the same time Operation Sickle kicked off, a small fleet of dozens of attack craft and missile boats based at Sagot and Pip’a-got naval bases would depart for a attack on the small fleet of UCF ships anchored around Ongjin. If, needed air support was being made available for call up. The enemy had bit off more then they could chew and would soon find out the North Koreans were far from beaten.

At this time, the Republic feels a alliance covering all military and government run operations are not in it's best interest. With the collapse of the Vineyard Empire and the ongoing mission in Algeria and Morocco, the Republic feels that those forces deployed abroad would be of better use if deployed closer to home. The increase in your armed forces personnel along with the withdraw of the Emirate have shown that the desire for bringing our men and women home to their families can no longer be put off. In addition, the heavy battles in North Africa have shown that personnel replacements for units engage in Algeria and Morocco has taken on a greater priority. Still, if you can show a pressing need, the Republic might consider leaving a token force behind in either Japan and/or Southern France until you are able to bring additional forces into those areas or the situation quiets down to a more peaceful level.

As for getting TGSR into a full European alliance, the Republic doubts the Monocracy would go for such an idea, however if you so desire we could bring up the topic for discussion at our upcoming meeting.

We our getting from the tone of your message that you seem to be unduly concerned about a possible war between the nations of the Republic and the UCF. Unless, you plan to launch an unprovoked attack against a member of the Republic, you have nothing to fear from the Republic now or in the future. The Republic desires peace above all us, but is quite capable of defending it's interest if threaten. While, we appreciate the advantages and assistance your nation has provided we still feel that an alliance the size and complexity that was the EATO alliance is no longer in the best interest of the Republic. With that stated, the Republic still desires to maintain an alliance between our various governments just one smaller in scope. Were sorry you had to find out this way as we had intended to inform you of our concerns and wishes at the upcoming meeting we had requested where we could have worked out the details for this new alliance. Sadly, as that meeting has yet to take place, we are left with informing you of our intentions in a matter we hadn't intended to.

As to our support in your ongoing war in North Korea, as stated if you can show a pressing need, the Republic is more then willing to leave behind a token force to assist your endeavor even though we still feel it's not in our interest. Were willing to do this because as your friends and long time allies, the stability of your nation and the world has always been a concern of the Republic since it's founding all that time ago.

OCC: No, I totally forgot about it. Sorry...

If, you don't mind waiting a few more days to a week. I'll make it my first priority when I get a little free time.

With the 2nd Marine Division secured the Ongjin Area, that is when Operation ‘Croix de Guerre’ took place with the dropping of the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 13th Special Forces Brigades around the 2nd Marine Division’s held area, so they could help bring in the 22nd and 23rd Special Air Service, Special Reconnaissance Regiment, 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment, and Special Operations Group to begin their part in the operation to scout out and mark the enemy locations and enemy units for air strike against them later.
Well this was going on the Imperial Japanese 1st Helicopter Brigade would be moving the Imperial Japanese 1st Airborne Brigade up to the Ongjin Area to secure area and to hold the Ongjin Area, while the 2nd Marine Division with it’s reinforcements begin to push on to help the UCF war effort to bring the North Korean Government to an end.

OCC: I was waiting to see if you were going to post anything else, but as that doesn't seem likely, I thought it time to move things along again. However, as there isn't much for me to reply to this will be a short post.

The retaking of Ongjin

Ever, since the loss of Ongjin by the South Korean (UCF) 2nd Marine Division, the North Koreans had been assembling an army together to retake and hold the city. After nearly a day of secret preparations, all units were in their staging area for the pre-dawn assault. [OCC2: I'm assuming you have at least formed a perimeter 2 miles or so out from the city.]

Order of Battle for the 820th Armored Corps and the 28th Infantry Division
1. The 1st Armored Brigade would attack from the west.
2. The 2nd Armored Brigade along with the 15th Mech Infantry Brigade with supporting elements from the 28th Infantry Division in the form of two infantry regiments would attack from the North.
3. The 3rd Armored Brigade would attack from the east.
4. Finally, the remaining elements of the 820th Armored Corps and 28th Infantry Division would remain in the rear as a mobile reserve with the artillery assigned to those rear echelon units providing fire support with their 122mm and 152mm guns.

Suddenly, from well concealed positions, the North Korean artillery opened up with HE shells and smoke to add to the already low visibility. With that, the signal had been given for the go ahead and with that the entire Ongjin army was on the move. However, one thing was really starting to be a proven thorn in the side of the North Korean high command and that was the logistical capability of the UCF forces. Something needed to be done in that regard or this war was as good as lost.
OCC3: I just hope you don't plan on roleplaying with all those forces you listed above arriving all at once. With the amount of aircraft you listed, it would take a few days to a week to get all those forces on the ground with their combat gear. Something to keep in mind as I've only given you a day at most to get as many new boots on the ground as you can. Not much time in the grand scheme of things.

Counteroffensive Croix de Guerre
As the North Koreans began to open fire from their artillery positions before launching their counterattack on the 2nd Republic of Korean Marine Division, but for the most part the 2nd MarDiv was well entrenched in the city of Ongjin as to make less of a target for the North Korean’s Artillery Units harder for them to bring down fire and they were also using orbital satellites to find the North Korean Artillery Units and direct fire for the 2nd MarDiv Artillery Units to do counterbattary fire on the North Korean Artillery Units. As this was happening the Marine Infantry and the 22nd SAS already on the ground well the Japanese 1st Airborne Brigade and 1st Helicopter Brigade was moving inland from prepositioned Assault Ships that had been moved into position as to help refuel all the 1st Helicopter Brigade’s aircrafts as to make sure that they are able to keep bring in more troops and supplies to help keep the three units combat ready as it would be at least 12 hours before any more reinforcements can be brought up to full strength and combat ready. So, the three units keep moving wait forces they could but that was not many as they only had one K1 Armor Battalion and they would be facing three Armor Brigades and two Mechanized Infantry Brigades, so they keep the tanks in mobile combat reserves as to be moved as a whole unit or into companies and moved to stop gaps in the line made by the North Koreans in their advance to retake the city back from the South Koreans. As things started to get really bad for the South Koreans that is when they started to call in close air support from the United Citizen’s Federation Air Forces as things would get heated from the assaults from the North Koreans. The North Koreans seem to be throwing the 820th Armor Corps and maybe a unknown Infantry Division. As all this was going on the South Koreans have started to began to move troops around underground to positions that would surprise the North Koreans by the redeployment. The French 4th Airmobile Brigade has started to move the French 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment into a position around the outside of the 2nd MarDiv area to setup Forward Artillery Observation Posts to spot for the Artillery and Close Air Support units that were going to help and hold the North Koreans at bay well more forces were moved into Ongjin area.

Things were really beginning to heat up in the Ongjin area, after an hour since the operation had begun only limited progress had been made. Even though the UCF forces had only been given a day to firm up their position, the little buggers had really dug themselves into a hole. One thing in particular was proving to be not only a major thorn in the side of the Ongjin Army, but also the single most deadly threat, was the almost God like precision of the 2nd ROK Marine Division’s counterbattery fire. Still, every time the enemy artillery returned fire, the North Korean’s Signal Division attached to the 820th Armored Corps was able to zero in on where the counterbattery fire was coming from and return the favor in kind in various waves of 122mm rounds, 122mm rockets, 152mm rounds and finally from a detached platoon of M1989 Koksan 170mm SP guns position outside any effective counterfire the enemy could throw at them and well hidden to prevent them from being spotted from the air and any other intelligence assets the UCF had.

With the enemy’s counterbattery fire for the most part taken care of for the moment, the central front had stabilized just outside the city of Ongjin [OCC: Say around a mile or so]. However, while the quick advance of the Ongjin central front had resulted in the quick recapture of a substantial part of territory not to mention quite a few enemy prisons as one position after another was quickly overrun including a few Forward Artillery Observation Posts captured from it would later be determined to be from the French 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment. Still, a high toll had been taken to achieve this early victory with nearly a few dozen vehicles lost mostly in the form of various types of APCs, but including a few Ch'onma-ho tanks and around three thousand soldiers either killed or wounded. However, the central front had always been expected to take the brunt of the fighting and replacements were well stocked to replenish their losses both in men and material. The real fighting had yet to begin.

With the central advance called to a halt and the troops told to dig in to expect an possible enemy counter attack, the main attack was ready to get under way. With UCF forces focused on the central front fighting and thereby distracted, the North Korean Army managed to quietly position their flank forces for a surprised attack with no warning given this time in the form of an prep artillery strike or a wide advance. Leading the way for the 1st and 3rd Armored Brigades were their Mechanized Infantry Battalions closely followed by the four Armored Battalions armed with the most advance tanks the North Koreans had in their arsenal and the remaining supporting elements of the brigade. Attacking quickly and decisively, the North Koreans to their luck were able to catch a few platoons of enemy tanks off guard while from the looks of it that were in the process of repositioning. To the enemy’s credit though, before the enemy tanks were able to be knocked out or at least disabled, they manage to knock out of commission a few of the North Koreans own tanks. Still, by attacking on two narrow fronts along the flanks, the North Koreans had manage to find and pierce the weak spots of the enemy’s position and gain a foothold again on the outskirts of the city of Ongjin. Though the day was far from over with North Korean reserve units pouring into the opening made by the 1st and 3rd Armored Brigades, it had been one bloody morning the likes of which would go down in history.

With it’s foothold firmly secured in Ongjin to resume the advance the next morning, the North Koreans were digging in for the expected enemy counter attack and making preparations for their own counter attack should the need arise. Whatever happen the rest of the day would be nothing compared to what lay in store for tomorrow.

OCC: I know I God Molded a little in the above post, so if I went to far let me know and I’ll edit it out or tone it down. However, I was trying to advance the story as much as possible to get this thing over with as soon as possible, so I hope I didn’t overstep the bounds to much. Also, just a remainder, but don’t forget about the other areas being fought over for throughout North and South Korea.

UCF Operation “Dagger Thrust”
Ongjin Operation Area

As most of the North Korean’s open fired with their artillery formations the British 22nd SAS were doing recon on the North Korean Artillery Formations and sending the recon information back to the South Korean 2nd Marine Division and to the UCF air and naval forces in the area as to begin any fire missions on the North Korean Artillery Formations as to take them out before the major thrust by UCF Forces. When this new recon got to UCF Korean Air Command in Seoul is when they armed F-16s and Harrier Aircraft with Anti-radiation Missiles to be used on the North Korean Fire-finding Rader and Command and Communication Units. When this mission was finished is when UCF Typhoons with Brimstone 2 missiles and Rafales armed with Storm Shadow missiles began making runs on the North Korean 820th Armored Corps’ Artillery and Armored Formations as to keep their heads down and from firing on the 2nd ROK Marines Division’s units and allow for the rest of the Ongjin Forces to move into the area and sure up the defenses. The Marines’ K1s tanks were being used to move from one hot spot to the other as quickly as they could to draw fire away from the retreating infantry units as they could move into a defensive zone around Ongjin.

With all that was happening around Ongjin still didn’t stop the Japanese 1st Airborne Brigade to be landed in the city of Ongjin and allow the Japanese 1st Helicopter Brigade to start moving more forces into the Ongjin Operational Area. Also the South Korean 1st and 3rd Special Forces Brigades units started to land at the airport for Ongjin. These four battalions from both brigades were landed and offloaded to be brought up to fight in and around the defensive buffer zone around Ongjin. These battalions were also loaded out with anti-tank weapons and mortars to help replace the loses of some of the 2nd ROK Marine Divisions’ K55 SPHs that were taken out by the North Korean Artillery fire. Well the K55s open fired on the North Koreans is when most of the KH179s were places on high ground around and in Ongjin to be used as both artillery and anti-tank weapons if they could before being destroyed by the North Koreans at close range.

The Japanese 1st Helicopter Brigade has also been airlifted some more anti-tank weapons and tow-howitzers to fend off the North Korean forces. Also four squadrons of AH-1S and four squadrons of AH-64DJP to help with displacing the North Korean Armor Formations from driving further into the Ongjin as they would provide close air support to the 2nd ROK Marine Division in and around Ongjin. The RAF Sentinel R1 Squadron was providing both the eight squadrons of attack helicopters and 2nd ROK Marine Division on the ground to where the North Korean forces could be at and what they were doing. The Sentinel Squadron was also sending intelligence reports to the two ROK Army Corps that began to push from Haeju to Ongjin to help out the 2nd ROK Marine Division. So, with the VI Corps ‘Advance’ and VII ‘Vanguard of Northern Advance’ was to push through the North Korean IV Corps and the rear of the 820th Armored Corps to provide relief to the embattled South Korean Marines and other UCF forces in and around Ongjin.

The South Korean 7th Assault Unit and 706th Special Assault Regiment punched a whole thought the line that the North Korean IV Corps was holding. That happened because the UCF Special Operations Command sent all the Special Forces units in South Korea in the rear area of the North Korean IV Corps to sabotage, destroy and deprive the North Koreans mobile forces of all ammunition and fuel or other logistical support that they would need against the UCF push to Ongjin. After the Special Forces units have done their mission they were to move to their secondary missions of destroying any if at possible North Korean military formations and command and control structures that they came into contact with on their way to Ongjin. So, with most if not all the armor and mechanized formations taken care of is when the South Korean Capital Infantry Division (Mechanized) ‘Tiger Division’ and 5th Armored Brigade ‘Iron Storm’ made their assaults and had major success with breaching the North Korean lines and was able to push to down the major roadway from Haeju to Ongjin and fight the North Koreans that have surrounded the embattled UCF forces in and around Ongjin. Also the 22nd SAS were gathering up intelligence on where the French 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment POWs that were captured by the North Koreans. The 22nd SAS knew that the French that had been taken were no bigger then a company size force at the most and they were also Special Forces Operators that have seen combat all over the world and knew that they would hold out for as long as they could humanly do against the way they would be tortured by the North Korean Intelligence Services would do to them. Well the ‘Tiger Division’ and ‘Iron Storm’ have not taken any but minor combat problems with a lost of two K2 ‘Black Panther’ Tanks and 5 K21 IFVs with no combat loses to the personnel other then a few wounds and they were airlifted to the rear area to be treated.

Southern Operations Zone and Tongch-on Operation Area

With the Japanese Imperial Guard Corps had consulted the beachhead at Tongch-on with little to no real counter-attacks coming from the North Korean forces around Tongch-on to inflict many combat causalities on the Japanese Imp Grd. So, with the landing of the Japanese on the surrounding area of Tongch-on and also in the city’s port facilities that way the Japanese could move their armor and mechanized forces into position that way they could begin their combat operations towards Wonsan and Kosan.

The Japanese 1st Guards Infantry Division and 4th Guards Armored Division began to form up to make a major thrust towards Wonsan to sure up things for a second major naval port for landing of equipment and also to take away the capability of the North Koreans to use Wonsan as one of their naval and shipyards for their navy. As this was planned the Imperial Japanese Navy sent Escort Flotilla 4 to begin a naval blockade of Kumya-man Bay as to prevent any of the North Korean ships from leaving the area and to board and capture them to be used for the United Citizens’ Federation purposes. Also Escort Flotilla 4 will also provide any needed shore-bombardment of the North Korean coast for the Japanese Forces moving toward the Wonsan area.

The Japanese 2nd Guards Infantry Division and 6th Guards Cavalry Division formed up and started to move towards Kosan to capture and hold it as it was a supply point for the North Korean Forces in the area which was the I and V Corps that were up against the First Republic of Korea Army and the Joint UCF Eastern Forces.

In order for the North Korean I and V Corps to be draw away from the Japanese thrust was when the ROK 3rd Armored Brigade ‘Lighting’, ROK 702nd Special Assault Regiment, ROK 703rd Special Assault Regiment, ROK 102nd Infantry Brigade (Mechanized) ‘Sunrise’, British 1st Armored Division and Japanese 7th Armored Division opened fired on the North Korean I Corps positions around and near Kuum-ni and push towards Kosong and Kumgang as to also bring these two major cities under UCF control.

As this major armored thrust was driving up to meet with the Japanese at Wonsan and Kosan, the ROK II Corps ‘Double Dragon’, ROK III Corps ‘Mountains’, French 27th Mountain Brigade and Japanese 11th Infantry Division was tasked with pushing towards Kumgang and Sep’o as to make a major UCF Controlled area. The reason for this is to allow more UCF Forces to be moved onto North Korean soil to bring this war to end soon.

The ROK I Corps ‘Kwanggaeto’ and V Corps ‘Victorious’ was to open a major offensive operations against the North Korean V Corps while the ROK Missile Command started to launch Hyunmoo III Ground-launched Cruise Missiles towards the North Korean C4I Units in controlled of all North Korean Forces facing the UCF Forces along battle lines in the Southern Operations Zone.

The British 3rd Mechanized Division, Japanese 5th Infantry Brigade, Japanese 1st Tank Brigade, ROK VIII Corps begin a major thrust towards Sariwon. While the ROK First Army Mobile Reserve Forces had 65th, 66th and 72nd Mobile Reserve Divisions attached to the ROK Capital Corps for a push with the Japanese 2nd Infantry Division, French 3rd Mechanized Brigade, French 7th Mechanized Brigade was to assault towards Sinch’on.

The ROK 2nd Army which was just the IX Corps and XI Corps that were made up of Home Defense Infantry Divisions which was South Korean National Guards Units like the US Army has done. The with what was left of the ROK 3rd Army Mobile Reserve Forces which was the 75th Mobile Reserve Infantry Division, 51st Home Infantry Division and 55th Home Infantry Division, along with ROK 3rd Army’s Mobile Reserve Forces was to move and occupied P’yongsan area and to also move to any where on the entire UCF Southern Operation Zone if needed.

Northern Operational Zone

With Russian 5th and 35th Combine Arms Armies on the Musan and Ch’ongjin line which relieved the seaborne forces that had assaulted and taken Ch’ongjin from the North Korean. The Seaborne Forces where recalled and joined the North Operational Amphibious Forces to make three major landings from Orang, along the coast to Kimch’aek.

The Russian 55th Naval Infantry Division along with the ROK 1st Marine Division was to take the coastal area between the two sea-port cities to allow control of that area while the Japanese send more forces to join the Northern Operational Zone. The British 3rd Royal Marine Commandos Brigade was to assault the Orang Area and bring it under control as quickly as they can. Then the French 9th Marine Light Armored Brigade was to assault and capture the Kimch’aek Area and control that. While the major divisional landings were going on between the two cities by the Russian 55th Naval Infantry Division and ROK 1st Marine Division.

Then at the same time as this was going on the Russian 14th Special Designation Brigade (Spetsnaz) and 42nd Naval Special Designation Regiment (Spetsnaz) are going to make a combined airborne and air assault into the city of Kilchu to bring this under control as it is a major connector between Orang and Kimch’aek and Unhung cities. Kilchu would be the one town that would be needed to make sure that any reinforcements from the Chinese-North Korean Boundary Area or anywhere that the North Korean VI Corps can spear it from.

The Russian 5th Combine Arms Army began its offensive operations against the North Korean VI Corps in its sector of control, while the 35th Combine Arms Army was working in the coastal area of the North Korean VI Corps was being attacked their and on the Chinese-North Korean Boundary side by the 5th Combine Arms Army and the 68th Combine Arms Army Corps was working the center part of the North Korean VI Corps defensive line and with two full Russian Combine Arms Armies and an Combine Arms Army Corps working on it the North Koreans started to just fall apart under to full force of the Russian and then with seaborne forces assaulting form just of the coast the North Korean VI Corps was not going to be intact for much longer if they didn’t either withdraw or surrender to the UCF North Operational Zone Commander.

Naval Forces in the Yellow Sea and around the Korean Theater of Operations

As the ROK 2nd Marine Division and all the UCF Forces in and around Ongjin was putting up a major fight with the 820th Armored Corps is when UCF Joint Korean Naval Command put the HMS Monmouth, IFNS Forbin, IFNS De Grasse, IFNS Lafayette, ROKS Dae Joyeong, and ROKS Ji Deok-Chil together to become Task Force 763 to move and block the Taedong-man Gulf and use it as an operational area to launch cruise missiles and gun fire on the 820th Armored Corps to draw them away from the UCF Forces in and around Ongjin. Task Force 763 was also to attack the artillery and fighting formations of the 820th Armored Corps and also to take out the supply and fuel depots of the 820th Armored Corps too.

The HMS Vanguard and HMS Vigilant moved into position off the coast between Japan and South Korean and armed a new non-nuclear missile that was a fuel air explosive that was in the warhead of the missile. The missile was called the Hell Fire Missile. The targets of the two subs were Pyongyang, P’yongsong, Sunch’on and Sunan. The purpose of the missile was to cause as much major damage as without the use of nuclear missiles.
