Legislative Branch
The President - The Commander and Chief and the alliance; elected every 4 years for a maximum of 8 years in office.

Congressional Review Board - 205 Senators; Elected every 4 years by popular vote from there Administrative districts up until the Senator reaches 75 years of age; mattes and bills heavily contested in the Lower Congress are reviewed here.

The Liberty Alliance Congressional Body- One Multi Party Congressional house; 743 Seat Congress; each City elects a representative to the house as a Representative, each representative is elected for a period of 4 years per term. Main Parties include: New Labour Party, Conservative Party, Democrat Party, Republican Party and National Unity Party (Current Ruling Majority New Labour Democrat Coalition 400 Seats again 343 Republican, Conservative and National Unity Seats)

Judicial Branch
Supreme Court - The Highest court in the land; 5 judges appointed by the president and confirmed by The Liberty Alliance Congressional Body then reviewed by the Congressional Review Board. Supreme Court Judges are elected until they die or step down.

High Court/Appeals Court - The High court is usually where contested cases end up before a Judge where they will either uphold or overturn the verdict based on the evidence.

Local Civil and Criminal Court - Local Courts that decide the outcome of Civil and Criminal cases; a case is put before a judge to decide if there is sufficient case to prosecute. If a criminal case a City District Attorney will then prosecute for a criminal conviction before a 12 man Jury and the Judge will decide Sentence if the defendant is found guilty. If the case is Civil then Lawyers from both sides will argue there case before a Jury; if the Plaintiff wins there case then the judge will decide reparations.

Law Enforcement

Liberty Security Force (LSF). - The day to day law enforcement is conducted by the Liberty Security Forces, These well-trained officers protect and serve the citizens and enforce the law. Though armed with lethal weapons each officer is armed with non lethal means of both self defence and subduing a violent suspect without use of deadly force; these include night-sticks, pepper spray, a Phase Pistol capable of Stunning or Killing a suspect as required. The LSF patrol in cars, tanks, Aircraft and Space Fighters

Strategic Weapons and Tactical Assault (SWAT) - these elite law enforcement are called in to the most dangerous crimes where extreme lethal force may be needed to resolve an issue such as a hostage situation or other situation in which a deadly armed suspect is expected to be encountered. These elite troopers are usually equipped with military grade weapons and body armour akin to Any Liberty Marine.

Federal Investigative Service (FIS)- The Federal Investigative Service is a national law enforcement agency that arrest criminals both internal and external across the nation. With national jurisdiction they can take over any local case and supersede local law enforcement.

National Security
Homeland Security - Homeland Security operate intelligence operations inside the nation to protect against Terrorist attack and advise the Government of terrorist threats inside the country. Homeland security operates its own counter Terrorist Unit known as CTU.

Home World Security - Headed by the Military General George S Hammond; Home world security deals with threats to the nation from space whether they be domestic; foreign or extra terrestrial in nature.

Liberty Intelligence Agency - The Intelligence Agency operating in a wide range of espionage and counter espionage protecting the nation from threats both domestic and external. Notable Operations include Research espionage, economic warfare, military appraisal and general information gathering.

Liberty Enforcement Division - A very Secret Agency operating outside of the LIA and homeland security or any other branch of the government. The elite of both combines the strike capability of the SAS or SEALS with the Intelligence and interrogation ability of the LIA. Headed and usually personally trained by George Black these are the elite of the elite and usually operate alone or only in small teams and answer only to the president.

Military Structure

Liberty Army- the Standard army of the nation very well trained, well equipped and fiercely loyal. These are your bread and butter soldiers on the front lines from the humble foot solder to the rocket artillery. Trained to operate on land and at sea like Marines.

Commando's Regiment - The best from the Army go into the Commando's Regiment numbering some 2000 men the Commandos are usually the first in conducting covert operations; requiring at least 2 years military service in the army the commandos are invaluable when operating behind enemy lines.

Liberty Navy (LN) is a large sized very modern highly advanced Wet Navy; consisting of Large scale Carriers, to the humble patrol boat. The Liberty Navy is able to project power anywhere on earth within hour's notice.

Liberty Navy SEALS - The Seals like the Commando's are trained for special operations usually from the sea; Seal training is so hard that out of some 300 that apply every year only 10 or so get chosen to become SEALS there are only 2000 navy seals in the entire navy.

Liberty Airforce (LAF) is a very modern fighting unit operating a range of Air superiority fighters, interceptors, Fighter-Bombers, long Range bombers, transport craft and support aircraft. The Liberty Airforce and deploy aircraft anywhere in the world.

Airborne Paratroopers - Like the Commandos the Airborne Paratroopers are exceptionally well trained and usually come from the Liberty Army with their speciality being dropped by parachute to anywhere on the planet. Though with the modern Era their role has taken on a new meaning as they are dropped from orbital insertion pods from LEO heights

Special Air Service - The SAS are the best of the best; applicants require at least 6 years service distinct in another branch of the Covert services (Commandos, Paras or SEALS) even then there is a 90% Failure rate for applicants. The SAS sometimes refereed to, as "The Specials" are the most elite in the entire nation only numbering 1000 men. Making each one irreplaceable and worth over 30 standard combat troops.

Caldamine - endows the user with temporary empathic and telepathic powers; highly illegal and addictive and prolonged use can lead to becoming a "Mind Cabbage" a state of catatonic trance where your mind is fried but your body is still alive turning you into a mumbling wreck. Alcohol - With the invention of Synthahol Alcohol became illegal though a black-market exists for the real thing; a good bottle of whisky will cost you $30.

Seresh - an outlawed mind control drug; allows the user to take someone else's body for a joyride; mind and body for the duration of its effect; the user experiences all that his puppet does through the puppets senses. Highly illegal $5000 a vial.

History

In 2010 AD after the UN fails to secure a deal for many years; Iran finally gets a viable nuclear bomb and Immediately under President Abadinajad declares Israel to be "wiped off the map". Though the Missile is intercepted by US ABM Systems; Retaliation from Israel is swift and many Iranian Cites are bombed back into the Stone Age by Israel and US forces. In 2012 AD under President Daniel's the "War on Terror" escalates to new heights and the middle east turns into a firestorm of destruction; the price of oil skyrockets as America tries to secure as much Oil for its hungry factories as it can oppressing anyone in there way. In 2060 AD America launches its first colonists to Mars; the sleeper ship being humanities last hope if earth was destroyed. In 2100AD After the San Diego Massacre; Terrorists detonate a nuclear Bomb in San Diego wiping out the City in a nuclear flash. America Reels from the incident; the new 9/11 only this time instead of its anger lashing out; its anger turns in on itself; America declares martial law, closes its borders and goes into a period of Isolation where anything Arab is purged from the country; violently. Muslims (or anything remotely Middle Eastern) and lynched and publicly executed; several Imams heads are placed on pikes that line the beaches turning the sand red. This in Liberty History is referred to as the Dark Times; and is a black blot on America's history and a stigma that lasts even today.

For almost 300 years America was in the Dark times; a kind of new Dark Age where Christian Theocrats and despots ruled; this cost America greatly. They Lost the West Coast to the failed Skynet project; that initiated a nuclear genocide against the west coast when it became self aware. High level encryption stopped it spreading to other facilities but America was helpless to stop the attack on major population centres likes Los Angeles and San Francisco and soon after they lost Alaska to the British. Their First Martian colony declaring independence after being cut off from supplies because of the Skynet incident. Then in 2370 came the Rebirth. From the least likely of places Canada, America and Greenland formed an alliance. Under President Jeffery H Sinclair; a new age was born. And for 700 years the Alliance has prospered and grown.

In 2400 French Canadian Scientist Doctor Belle Laroque invented the first Mechanical Walker Unit; the size of a house the "Walker" as it was called proved to be an ingenious design that would carry forth even to the present to honour Doctor Laroque all Mechs are "BL Frames". In 2470 Zero Point Energy Generators and Zero Space projectors are mastered giving the Alliance almost limitless energy and space. In 2482 under President Jacob Carter the Genetic Protections Act passes Congress; the use of Cloning for Organ farms and slavery is outlawed in the Alliance making Genetic Engineering of humans and DNA splicing a tightly regulated. In 2500 The Blackthorn Corporation is founded. In 2510 the BlackThorn Corporation invent the Archways; an advanced form of inter-dimensional travel between two 'gates' giving near instantaneous travel. Holding exclusive rights to the Archway designs, Parts and all derived and associated technology has given the Blackthorn Corporation a leading edge on the market across the entire Alliance and the world. In 2515 President Madelyn Adams authorises the first test of Anti-matter weapons at the Nevada Test site; the test proves a tremendous success heralding the beginning of a new age in weapon design.

In 2525 The Question of whether the Earth is alone in the universe is answered. Alliance Valkyrie J Fighters shoot down an unknown Alien ship which is then captured and studied at a secret Base built in Greenland this gives a wealth of information and technical upgrades over a period of 40 years including advances in weaponry and defences. Including Personal Cloaks; Advanced Adaptive Regenerating Shielding and new battlefield a weapon called "drones" these Drones become a weapon used exclusively by the alliance. In 2575 Skynet Declared war on the Alliance fielding "T-805 Terminator units"; the T-805's prove specifically hard to kill with anything short of heavy weapons. Though the Liberty's liberal use of high altitude bombing and drone attacks proved effective in fighting off the Skynet Aggression over a period of 5 years before a pseudo peace was signed in 2580.

Tensions with Skynet continue to flair to this day with the two sides engaging frequently in border spats but nothing close to all out war. In 2590 the Alliance began construction of "Orbital 1" a self contained space station in Geo-synchronous orbit referred to commonly as "Phoenix Station"; in wasn't until 2610 that it was finished and populated by 10,000 scientists, soldiers, workers and there families. Phoenix Station has grown to be the bright star of the alliance a self contained orbiting city complete with its own ship yard for building Spacecraft. The Scientists were starting to make headway with the Engines from the Alien craft that was shot down meaning the Alliance may soon have the capability for Interstellar travel at convenient speeds. 2675 the First Liberty Alliance Interstellar Exploration craft is launched towards Alpha Centari using the Alliances new Hyperspace Engine and never returns; its fate remains unknown to this day. Blackthorn Corporation invents the Trade Lane Technology and again like the archways has exclusive rights to all technology derived or associated with their newest invention. The Trade Lane being an offshoot of the Hyperspace technology create an earth or orbit 'Hyperspace highway' allowing cargo ships and freighters without an orbital drive to reach orbital stations and facilities. With more and more orbital shipping going to and from Phoenix Station 2692 sees the rise of the Liberty Rogues a group of smugglers and pirates who frequently hijack shipping at the Trade lane gates. 2694 sees the Rise of the Syndicate a far more sinister world wide organised crime syndicate in response to these growing threats the Liberty Government under President Fredrick H Gore IV founds the Liberty Security forces; an Amalgamation of Earth based and now space based Law Enforcement. To protect civilian and military shipping the LSF is given a tough mandate and excellent equipment. By 2710 significantly reduce Crime against Civilian Shipping thanks largely to the LSF. In 2715 President Davis on his second term gives to go ahead for the "Mega City" project with space becoming increasingly expensive cities now began expanding upwards as well as outwards. The project again Led by Blackthorn Corporation and Arc Tech Jointly with the poorer living on the lower levels and richer living on the upper levels of Cities. By 2800 almost Every City in the alliance is a Mega city metropolis; in 2820 The Alliance starts building its first Inter-system warships the Olympus Class Corvettes become the backbone of the Space Navy. With the Sword Class Destroyers entering Service in 2840 almost 20 years later and serves with the Olympus as the backbone of the Liberty Space Navy by 2900.

In 2989 the Alliance received the first signal from the Liberty Exploration vessel lost some 275 years prior and never heard from again. So designers in the Alliance start work on the first Interstellar Warship the Hyperion Class Heavy Cruiser which began construction in 2997 and is due to be finished in 3001 AD
