***BREAKING NEWS***
The Commonwealth Realm of Derisett has voted to end its monarchy. The monarchy has been a state institution for centuries in Derisett, but now the people have spoken. King Derek I, also the King of Addisumbria and Grand Duke of Addenburg, will no longer hold the title "King of Derisett." Although his reign in Derisett was a mostly ceremonial one, the people nonetheless decided to end it.
Derisett will now officially become a republic, under the direction of Prime Minister Kevin McAlpin, who will now become President McAlpin. King Derek I and all evidence of his monarchy shall be done away with. In Addisumbria, the mother country of Derisett and Addenburg, King Derek will retain his power (which is quite extensive). The popular majority there wishes to keep the institution of the monarch.
The Duchy of Addenburg is officially an independent nation, although King Derek is still considered the Grand Duke (in name only). It has yet to be seen if the people of Addenburg will follow Derisett's lead and vote to end monarchical rule.
