I've decided to finally start an RP thread that hopefully will interest everyone as previous attempts started off well but people seemed to lose interest.

This thread will be set in an ancient period of my nations history, think of it as a cross between romance of the tthree kingdoms & the sengoku jidai period of Japan, so essentially this thread will be a war thread but im leaning towards adding a more magical element to it in the vein of the videogames Dynasty Warriors etc, I'm as yet undecided

Here is the setting: The Emperor has fallen ill & his child has been placed under the guardianship of Khoi Ranasho, a fierce warlord dubbed, "Hell's Hound" by his enemies & allies alike.

The child soon becomes ensnared by Ranasho's deviousness and pledges allegiance to Ranasho thus giving Ranasho the right to ascend to the throne once the aging emperor has passed on, this is made evn more easy when the emperor is murdered by his own son

An allaince is formed to topple Ranasho but it can either win or falter and splinter off into several factions vying for supremacy?

I'll have a map drawn up sometime soon so we know where everything is

Skills: Finest swordsman in the empire some were led to believe & that reputation has struck fera into his enemies and allies, he earned the nickname of the hell hound after viciously tearing through enemy ranks & slaughtering all those in front of him
Profession: Emperor in waiting & former leader of the third army of the empire
History: Born to a poor family but quickly showed promise as a swordsman, he was taken under the imperial army's wing and soon became the superior swordsman to his peers, he grew disillusioned with his role and his desire to conquer more and gain more glory

at aged 30 he began to draw a plan to assume control, it would take nearly 5 years before it would come to fruition and by then the emperor he had served was gravely ill & his child was now under Ranasho's guidance...this would backfire as the emperor's own child slew him in his sleep & was givena new name

Since then Ranasho has ruled as grand leader of the empire for 3 years & now the empire faces its biggest threat, soldiers and men Ranasho had served under, served with and trained now opposed him..what would be the outcome?

Clothing & Armour: Son O' Maddock wears an unadorned suit of black plate mail armor, along with an iron helmet.
Weapons: Maddock generally carries a five foot claymore, which he has dubbed Tei, meaning Deadly One, and three dirks, each titled To'ea, meaning Little Death. However, having traveled the world as a hired sword since the age of sixteen, he owns and is proficient in the use of, several other weapons, most notably a pair of Pata Swords (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pata_%28weapon%29), a Katar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katar), and an obsidian studded throwing club.
Skills: Maddock is a skilled swordsman, especially with the claymore. He has enormous strength, with somewhat surprising speed, even in full plate armor. He speaks three languages (Low Kolvokian, High Kolvokian, and Latin) fluently, and can generally pick up enough of a language to get by within a week. Finally, he has learned to chant in overtones, creating an odd, often eerie quality, almost as if there were more than one person chanting. He often chants in this manner in battle, unnerving enemies.

History: Son O' Maddock, commonly simply called Maddock, was born to Eleanor and Maddock Matsuri. He was raised in Mount Kuoramashi until he was sixteen. At this point, some weeks before the manhood ceremony during which he would earn his true name, Kloandion bandits attacked his village. Son O' Maddock was knocked unconscious and left for dead, when in fact he was the sole survivor. He began travelling Kolvokia and later the world, eventually selling his sword to various warlords and kings. He earned his nickname after refusing to kowtow before an enemy general when he was captured, even on pain of death. The enemy general was impressed enough- and confident enough that the battle was over regardless of one soldier- that he released Son O' Maddock.

Skills: Colon Baxtor is highly regarded as one of the best Archers in Danaversia. His accuracy is suspiciously perfect and he has a ligh rate of fire. He wields this weapon with such skill as he has used it most of his life.

He wields the standard weapons of the Imperial Danaversian Army, namely the shortbow and the Shaska sword.

Background: He was born in Illesia to poor parents in the heart of the Danaversian Empire. As with many of his age and background, he had little choice but to join the Army. However, he discovered it to be corrupt and ineffiecient. His barely trained Army was sent against a rival Empire and was slaughtered. He barely escpaed with his life and since then has travelled the world fighting as a mercenary, he commands great respect for both himself and his private Army, the 'Danaversian Immortals'

He has morals however, and will not kill unarmed prisoners or fight dishonorably. He is willing to back the rightful rulers of the nation as he hates traitors.

Bio: Both of these girls come from opposite sides of the border. With years of civil tention brews freinds across the border are being loss and enemies are being made. With war over the horizion these two seem highly unlikely to be freinds. But they are. Intrestingly enough both girls lost their mothers at young ages, and we're raised on the violent ideals of their fathers. The only way to survive in these countries is to be apart of the system and become a killer. Both were trained to kill with out mercy and take clients on for payment. Both met up when the first battle for the border and spared into fatigue. Both agreed to partner up and become freinds as their emotions took over and fell for each other. Now they sail the seas taking on cases for their payment.

15/16th century? Mind if I be an English diplomat, from the Tudor Era (Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, etc)? Just to tell you that my version of history is a bit different. For example, Edward VI does not pass away but continues to reign, my character would be serving him and Parliament during his visit to your nation.

History: Born into poverty in the old imperial region of Duskhun but soon that region was disbanded as it came under the emperor's control, Zankoichi's father was a peasant who rose up and fought back claiming territory as his and the peoples own, hisa father was named marshal of the state of Zankoichi named after his family

Soon after his fathers death, an 18 year old Amano was placed in control, expanding the regions power enough so to launch a stabel rebellion against the false empire that now ruled

But when he was 23 he found his region come under attack from Imperial forces,his go it alone attitude nolonger works and the empires borders are dangerously close to Zankoichi capital, he has reluctantly allied himselfwith the states now wishing to bring about the downfall of the false emperor Ranasho
