Title: Second Reich Proclaimed

Sherwood City, The Peoples Freedom: Yesterday, the five largest megacorporations in The Peoples Freedom merged into one conglomerate. Beinz Automobiles, HK Computers, Davidson Arms Manufacturing, West Morgan Bank, and Liberty Steel Works all announced their merger. Shortly after, the combined conglomerate announced the end of the First Reich and the new dawn of the Second Reich.

Already, the major parties have gone mainly without a fuss. Many believe this is because the new government will apparently still maintain excellent civil rights, however political rights are still in questions.

The Depression that had plagued TPF is now slowly going away, with a twenty percent increase in the economy of the course of the last year. The Second Reich has already passed a new law announcing the first Four Year Plan, promising complete economic reversal in the next four years.

The Military has already pledged their support for the new government. As for how the new government will operate, they are keeping the old laws and systems for now, but they plan to have a new set of laws into effect in the next month.

There was some rioting early this morning, but it has died down. Police apparently dispersed the crowds with tear gas, there were no deaths and only some minor injuries.

The stock market dipped slightly, and then gained around fifty points, the largest increase since the Depression began.

OCC: This is very good for you, this effectively ends the last democracy in my country. The leaders will do anything for profit. The citizens get the civil rights, but not the political ones.

Ministry of Trade

We are pleased to hear of your nation's economic recovery. The strong and pro-market leadership shown by your government suggests that your depression will soon be coming to an end, and on behalf of the nation of Vetalia I wish to propose that we further our economic cooperation. Our nation is a prime exporter of technology products, and your nation exports steel and automobiles, both of which we need plenty of both for our own use and for use in Vetalian overseas ventures. To this end, we wish to propose a free trade agreement.

Over the next 10 years, using a gradual schedule of phase-outs, our nation will eliminate all barriers on the import of steel, automobiles, and military equipment from your nation, and in exchange your nation will eliminate its tariffs on non-sentient computers and robots, biomedical and biotechnological devices, and cybernetics products.

We feel that this will greatly enhance economic efficiency as well as build ties between us economically, both of which will accelerate your recovery and expansion above depressionary lows.

Regards,
Consul Andrei Ryazanov, Ministry of Economic Development

This is an highly unusual offer. The Peoples Freedom is not in the habit of lowering Tariffs, and no other nations has been granted immunity. However, we have discussed this over with the new government and they seems much more willing to accept FTA's then the First Reich. Thus we are pleased to inform you that Free Trade status has been granted to Vetalia. Thank you and may God bless your nation.

Excellent. We hope that our countries can do a large amount of business together. Trade builds economic and social stability, and we have a lot to benefit from through trade with your nation.
