[This thread is just so I can keep track of the history of my nation as it unfolds.]
2006 - What was at that point known as the SGC becomes involved in what will become known as the Ori War, a war that will last 10 years and cost Earth the lives of over 200,000 servicemen and 16 warships.
January 15th, 2009 - The existence of the SGC is disclosed to the United Nations as a result of the extreme cost of the Ori War.
January 20th, 2009 - 150 nations ratify a treaty giving Stargate Command over to the control of the General Assembly, and approving a vast funding increase. Stargate Command is renamed Homeworld Defense, and the General Assembly creates a council codenamed 'Giza' to run Homeworld Defense. 136 of these nations declare martial law and put their governments at the disposal of Giza.
February 19th, 2009 - Ori and Earth/Free Jaffa ships gather in a group of systems that will become known as the Coreward Front. From this point on, almost all combat fought in the Ori War will be fought here, in space and on the ground.
July 14th, 2013 - 4 BC-304 ships enhanced with further Asgard modifications supported by a large fleet of Free Jaffa ships break through on the Coreward Front, but are halted at the outskirts of the system containing the final ori supergate.
April 15th, 2014 - The city-ship Atlantis is recalled from the Pegasus galaxy, to be used as a strong point in the Eath's solar system.
June 24th, 2014 - Atlantis arrives in Earth's solar system in time to turn the tide of a battle that was responsible for the deaths of up to 3 million civilians on Earth. Atlantis is installed on the Moon, where it will stay for the remainder of the war and beyond.
June 26th, 2014 - Giza approves the commissioning of 4 new Asgard-upgraded BC-303 battleships.
January 5th, 2016 - The first day of a new offensive on the Coreward front sees the destruction of the last 4 BC-304 ships, but the Ori defenses at the Supergate system are near to collapse.
January 10th, 2016 - The final push. Of the remaining 12 of Earth's ships, 8 are destroyed, but the Supergate is shut off and destroyed with a Naquadriah bomb.
January 12, 2016 - The official end of the Ori war. Celebrations are held across the galaxy at the news. The final death toll is never known, bu Earth alone lost at least 200,000 servicemen and the majority of her fledgeling fleet. Giza retains emergency powers in order to help reconstruction on Earth, exploying a staff of roughly 5 million by this point.
February 20, 2016 - Giza establishes a base around the remaining Repository of the Ancients.
