"Please Rise for the National Anthem"

The crowd stood up, and place thier right hands across thier chests and looked forward. The music began to play, its beating drums and horns sounded tribal yet nationalistic at once. The crowd, 10,000 strong began to sing.

When we all give the power
When we all give the best
Every minute in the hour
We don't think about the rest

And we all get the power
And we all get the best
When everyone gives everything
Then everyone, everything will get
Life is life!

Life is life
When we all feel the power
Life is life
When we all feel the pain
Life is life
It's the feeling of the people
Life is life
It is the feeling of the land.

When we all give the power
We all give the best
Every minute in the hour
We don't think about the rest
And everyone gives everything
And every soul, everyone will feel
Life is life!

Every minute of the future
Shall be mixed with the past
Cause' we give all the power
We give all the best
Others shall lose everything
And perish, with the rest!
Life is life!

The crowd began clapping as Khan Ungol took the podium, a mix of barbarian chieftan, nationalist, and king. Mongrowia seemed to be a mix of one thing or another in every fabric of life. Khan Ungol had made sure to wed a modern state with the ancient tribal system with dashings of the remains of the colonial system.

At one time in its history Mongrowia had been a fiefdom controlled, at least marginally, by some far off empire. After the empire had apprantly fallen, or simply forgotten about the Mongrows, the structure of the old system remained.

Khan Ungol led his tribe to victory over the old, foreign leader and took power for himself. Knowing that if he abolished the system he would destroy the proto-state forever, and his homeland would be lost. So, he whipped the many histories and cultures into one strange mix.

The disaster adverted, the Khan looked now beyond the borders of his Fiefdom. The Mongrow people had extended far beyond this meager state, and had ruled quite alot of land in thier day. But after 400 years of being confined to this small bit of landlocked soil, as much as he did love it, he thought his people should begin to reclaim thier lost heritage.

Now he knew Mongrowia was nowhere near ready. The military was small and poorly equipped, the people generally uneducated, and the outside world was full of things he surely had no idea about. He bordered a state, Oldremeca, that seemed to have either not noticed Mongrowia or was simply waiting to invade.

But it wasn't all bad.

The land was rich with wheat, barley, vegetables, forage crops; sheep, goats, cattle, camels, and Mongrowia's famous horses. Oil(though not much), coal, copper, molybdenum, tungsten, phosphates, tin, nickel, zinc, fluorspar, gold, silver, and iron could all be found in Mongrowia. The people were hard working and war-like, and with the powers of his office, he could direct them as he saw fit.

Mongrowia, while not ready, was taking its first steps into the future.

Khan Ungol looked upon a map of his nation, drawing x's and o's every now and then. Where-ever he put an x, three factories would be built; where-ever he put an o, a military base was to be built.

How quickly Mongrows march to a flag, the Khan thought. He had drafted a law quickly to increase the military, and his people had followed it without one owrd. Even the wording of it sounded more like a command rather then a law.

18-25 years of age for compulsory military service; conscript service obligation - 12 months in land or air defense forces or police; a small portion of Mongrowian land forces (2.5 percent) comprised of contract soldiers; women cannot be deployed overseas for military operations

Now that industry was getting underway and the military was growing, Khan Ungol peered beyond his borders yet again. He needed help to get things going. Advisors of some sort, to help him with the economy and to train the troops. So he put out a letter.

OOC: I have a rather shady group based in and around my nation that engages in smuggling, contract intelligence work and theft. Would you be interested with them setting up a base of operations in your nation?

To: Khan Ungol of Mongrowia
From: James McMurphy

Congratulations on the founding of your new nation. I have heard you are looking for people to help with building your nation up and I have decided to throw my hat in. I am an officer in the British Army and would gladly help to train Mongrowian soldiers.

I have experience in combat, having served in the former Yugoslavia during the conflicts, under Wesley Clark of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO. My family has contributed soldiers and officers who fought for Britain in World War I/II, the Boer War and other conflicts, just to tell you a bit about my family's history in the military. I can help train your nation's soldiers, as I see you are in need of people to help you in that department.

If you require any more information about me, do not hestitate to ask. Also, I would like to know if my family can be accomodated in Mongrowia. I wish you the best in the future.

Signed,
J.McMurphy

James Murray, his wife Fiona and daughter Bridget were onboard the Mongrowian plane with their baggage, soon they'd be in a new nation, trying to fit in with the citizens of the nation of Mongrowia. A couple of days or so the plane flew in the sky, it was some time from the UK to Mongrowia.

Finally, on an airstrip, a group of Mongrowians saw a plane coming down. As they continued to observe this event, a group of people came out, the group was who they were waiting for.

The Murray family (can I change their last name?) came outside the plane to be greeted by a group of Mongrowians, probably from the government, so James assumed. What would be in store for these newcomers to Mongrowia? We will have to wait and see.....

(Go head if you wish)

The men who were waiting were clad in BDU's, rifles at thier side. They had brought a beaten up military vechicle, and motioned for the family to get inside.

"Please, come with us. We shall meet the Khan at his castle."

The Murray family got inside the vehicle and looked around at the scenery, if any, of Mongrowia as the men drove them onward to the Khan's castle.

The scenary was barren, no trees or life to be found. Here and there a rotting tank was found. The officers said nothing, staring ahead or checking thier rifles. Finally a large castle came into view, a large village of Mongrowian Yurts encircling it. As the military vechicle passed, the often dirty peasants smiled and waved. Mongrowia was still in the past.

Finally the gates on the castle opened, and the car drove through, revealing a hive of activity. Officers and troops were everywhere, new tanks and computers being unloaded everywhere. A general came forth and signaled the family to come to him.

(Based on Mongolia I see)

As the vehicle passed through the land, Bridget, James' daughter, had noticed the peasants and waved back to them. James was talking to his wife at the moment, not noticing his daughter waving to the peasants, some of whom he figured would be trained by him, if they joined the army.

As the Murray family got out of the vehicle when they arrived at the Palace, they noticed the general signaling to them. They went towards him and proceeded to following him, knowing that in some time they would see the Khan.
