The Resurrection of Oliver Cromwell

Oliver Cromwell II

Oliver Cromwell's Commonwealth/Protectorate is said to have perished in the face of Charles II's return to England as King. This has often been accepted history, but we have found records to suggest otherwise. When the Royalists regained control of England and her dominions, they did not fully eliminate the Cromwellians.

Henry Cromwell, a son of Oliver Cromwell led refugees loyal to the Cromwellian system out of England/Scotland/Ireland, this we find in newly found records. Now, for some time they wandered the seas till they landed in an unknown land. What was surprising was that no natives lived here, this large piece of land seemed uninhabited.

Cromwell, realizing the potential of this land, decided to create his own nation. With this idea in mind, he convened a Parliament, which is commonly accepted in the nation of Anglia, for that is what the land is named, as the birth of Parliament.

The Anglian Parliament, still loyal to the Roundhead cause, implemented the "Humble Petition and Advice", named Henry Cromwell as Lord Protector of Anglia, and in summary, revived Cromwell's system. The Instrument of Government was adapted, but revised to meet the needs of Anglians.

-------------------------
"That your Highness will be pleased by and under the name and style of Lord Protector of the Commonwealth..."

"That every successive Lord Protector over these nations shall take and subscribe a solemn oath, in the presence of the Council, and such others as they shall call to them, that he will seek the peace, quiet and welfare of these nations, cause law and justice to be equally administered; and that he will not violate or infringe the matters and things contained in this writing, and in all other things will, to his power and to the best of his understanding, govern these nations according to the laws, statutes and customs thereof."

"That each person of the Council shall, before they enter upon their trust, take and subscribe an oath, that they will be true and faithful in their trust, according to the best of their knowledge; and that in the election of every successive Lord Protector they shall proceed therein impartially, and do nothing therein for any promise, fear, favour or reward."

These three excerpts of the Instrument and Government and Humble Petition and Advice were implemented in Anglia, with the revisions that were added, as they were in a new land, not England.

It would not be until the time of George III that the British met the Anglians and remarked to the British Government that Cromwell's descendants lived on and were not defeated fully as accepted history had it seem.

(I got the idea for my nation from the movie, Cromwell, just to tell you the basis for my nation)
