Liberating the Oppressed (E2027, ATTN: Fascist State of Iceland & allies UPSS allies)

Background SIC:
It was April 3, 2027. The Unified Provinces of Southern Scandinavia was finally ready to make its move. After sitting in years of quietness, it was time to burst on the international scene in a big way. They had taken their time with this one. They had sat and watched; building up their naval might, as the nations bombed each other’s Air Forces to oblivion. They had waited, building up their Air Force, while other nation’s armies were being ripped to shreds. They had bided their time, appearing shy at times, to woo nations into an alliance with them. Now they had 3 very complimentary allies – the Free British Republic, Italy, and the Kasinovian Federation. Finally, the time had come. They were one of the world powers now, both in the Navy and in the Air Force. Their intelligence network had footholds everywhere, even in the most suspecting of places. And now was the time for all this to pay dividends.
SIC 1:
John Milton was a field officer for S3 (OOC: pronounced S sub 3), the UPSS intelligence agency. Milton was one of the best agents that S3 had, and knew exactly what he had to do. He took the Ferry from Malmo to Copenhagen, contemplating what the briefings officer had told him. Your job is to spread discontent in Denmark about being ruled by the fools in Iceland. Make them angry, organize resistance groups, and get one to give a public outcry for help. By then, it was over. The UPSS would sweep in and snatch Denmark as a province. He arrived in Copenhagen and rented a car. He quickly went to meet the head of a roughly hewn anti-fascist group operating there. They talked for roughly an hour, and Milton left, happy with the results. He was staying at the Grand Hotel under the name of Jim Scott. If anyone asked, he was here to trade stocks, and he could talk it well enough to fool even the most seasoned investors. He was wearing a wig, and cheek pads to make him appear younger. Once at the hotel, he unfolded his briefcase and tapped out a few keystrokes on a telegraph-like operator. It was, in fact, a radio, but it only communicated with Morse code, or a similar code. This is where the isolation of Scandinavia had come in handy during the years. S3 had derived a new code, one more complicated and harder to break, but simpler for an agent to commit to memory. Thus, Milton sent a message back to S3 headquarters in Karlstad: Made contact with resistance. All assets are in place. The time has come. He closed his briefcase and relocked it. He then retrieved a second briefcase, this one loaded with propaganda. He left his hotel, and walked south to the park. He began distributing the flyers, spreading an anti-fascist message among the populace. Finally, all the papers were gone. He walked over to a normal-looking businessman, who was sitting on a bench reading a newspaper. An identical briefcase was next to him on the ground. Without saying a word, Milton exchanged the briefcases and walked off. Soon after, that man folded up his papers and left. No one had noticed the exchange. Milton walked from the park to the nearest street and hailed a cab. He got in. “Denmark Stock Exchange, please.” The cab slowly drove on. Milton had business to do. The cab pulled up in front of the Denmark Stock Exchange.
“Four Krones please,” the cabbie requested.
“Whatever,” Milton replied, pulling out a five. He climbed out of the cab, and pulled out the briefcase. He walked in the stock exchange, and up to a SimCorp booth. “Hi, I’m Jim Scott. I’m interested in purchasing 20,000 more stocks?”
“Sure. Let me look up your name. Okay Mr. Scott, lets see 20,000 more stocks you say?”
“Yes. If you’ll just give me the paperwork.”
“Here you are. Sign here.”
“Thank you. It was a pleasure.” He walked off, leaving his briefcase at the desk. No one even realized. He walked out, and climbed in another cab. This time he went back to the hotel, where he collected his belongings and checked out. He boarded the ferry to take him back to Malmo, and checked his watch. Almost time, he told himself. Upon reaching Malmo, he disembarked and traveled to the subway stop. He went into the restroom and reemerged a new man. He then proceeded to travel back to Karlstad unnoticed, taking several detours along the way to throw off anyone crazy enough to try and track him.
SIC 3:
Back in Copenhagen, time was running out. At the Denmark Stock Exchange, someone noticed the briefcase and turned it in to the lost and found console, located in the dead center of the building. All was going according to plan.
IC 1:
BLAM! The explosion leveled the center beams of the Denmark Stock Exchange, which brought the upper floors crashing down upon the lobby. Cries of the injured people rang out as the dust settled. The scene was atrocious. Outside, a man in a phone booth called the rebel leader. “We have liftoff.”
The rebel leader entered into a small radio studio, and began his broadcast. “Ladies and gentlemen of Denmark. I come to you in the hour of most dire need. The time has come to throw off the Fascist oppression that has plagued this land for so long. We wish to extend an open call for international aid: any democratic nation may annex us as long as we are given the rights of citizens. First, however, they may have to deal with our oppressors. Men of Denmark: this is your call to arms. Remove these people from us!”
SIC 4:
Back in Stockholm, the UPSS capital, the military leaders were meeting with the president. The president began “Recent polls show that I have a 95% approval rate. They also show that our citizens are not opposed to expansion. Now, my friends, is the time. You know the plan we have laid out. Now let us execute it!” The generals moved out, and President Miller prepared for his speech.
IC 2:
“Recently, the people of Denmark cried out for help. The UPSS can not let this call go unanswered. We will fight to the death to free this country from its overseas oppressors. As they have called to us, so we call to them: Join the UPSS, and benefit from the goods of citizenry. Everyone has a say. With this we officially declare war on the Fascist State of Iceland until Denmark is ceded.” With that, the president addressed the world, and informed everyone of his plans. He would not rest until Denmark was a member of the UPSS.
OOC:
Where are your closest military installations to Copenhagen?
SIC 5:
At the UPSS Air Force base in Helsingborg, planes were being prepared for war. 10 B-52 Stratofortresses were undergoing last second refueling, while 15 MiG-31 Foxhounds were taxiing to the runway to join the 15 F-14 Tomcats already circling in the sky. Backup, if necessary, would come from the FA-18 Hornets aboard HMS Equality, a Nimitz Class nuclear aircraft carrier off the coast of Copenhagen, surrounded by an amassing fleet of ships. Among those ships were 5 Spruance Class destroyers, 10
Virginia Class cruisers, and 3 Los Angeles Class submarines. The MiGs took off and began circling with the Tomcats, waiting for the B-52s. Finally, they were all in the air and headed for the nearest military installation by Copenhagen. Meanwhile, the army was gearing up for war as well. They were waiting, however, for the Air Force to make their job a little easier first.
SIC 6:To: Fascist States of Ireland Government
From: President Miller
As you may have heard, our nation has just declared war on you until you cede us the oppressed province of Denmark. While our armies are currently preparing to invade, there is still time. Hand over Denmark to the UPSS, and we will call off war. Be advised, if this is not responded to, or if you turn this offer down, your nation will face the full might of the UPSS armed forces until you surrender us this land. The options rest before you now. War is in one hand, Peace in the other. Do you sacrifice your men defending a piece of land that wishes to be free, and that you will eventually lose, and risk your nation growing war-weary and deposing you? Or do you settle for peace, and give this territory to the hands that it wishes to be in? The choice is yours.
Signed,
President Miller

A great wave of anger surged within the Führer of the Austro-Hungarian Republik as he read over his latest briefing. "Blatant act of imperialism!" He yelled. "And agaisn't a fellow Facism nation? Unacceptable indeed!"
To the Leader of Scandinavia.
Your lust for more land is unacceptable. You are not only disrupting a fragile peace, but jeoparding thousands of innocent lives as well. The people of Denmark will not hail you as their savior, but as their foe. They are perfectly content with Iceland's rule, and we of the Austro-Hungarian Republik will not stand idle while you seek to establish lordship over an already free land. Cease your hostile actions at once or prepare for war.
Signed.

President Miller leaned back after reading the letter. Fuckers are just mad that we responded first...
International Response:
President Miller was now on live radio (or TV, if it exists). "Citizens of the World. I ask you to take into consideration the actions of the past few days. The people of Denmark gave an international call for aid, and have rebelled against their overseas leaders. The Austro-Hungarian Republik on the other hand, has pronounced an embargo on Italy, without providing any worthwile evidince. Now they accuse us of being imperialists. Ladies and gentlemen, this we are not!"

I, Fuhrer Kamph Lien, have decided that we will give you Denmark, if you allow our citizens and soldiers to move and annex Belgium. We do not wish for any more people to die, humanity, as a whole, has suffered to much death. We can not repeat these happenings and will allow you to annex Denmark if you allow our citizens to move to Belgium and annex it. Please, no more bloodshed. And will we also drop the tariff to an average 5%.

We thank you for your consideration. As of today, Denmark will be a glorifiede member of the UPSS. As of Belgium, your loyal citizens may move their, however, it is not my permission to give. Most of the citizens in Denmark, you will find, will be overjoyed with the transition into a republic. We will not hurt or in any ways harm your former citizens. The attacks have been called off, and our soldiers are returning to their bases. We, in turn, will reduce our tariffs of your nation to our customary rate.

Belgium was taken, and looked forward to be taken, as without a stable government, their infrastructure and was horrible. They were happy with their new leaders, and with their population of seventeen million, they were overjoyed to be apart of the Glorious Fascist State of Island, and soon they would be payed for their acceptance. Jobs were being created, military installations were up, along with their citizen counter-parts. Prideful were they, for now they could call themselves, Belgium-survivors.

OOC: Kampfers, you can't control the people of Denmark. Some may indeed be happy of the government change, but others (most probably due to nationalism, xenophoby and propaganda) will want to continue living under Iceland's rule. Even if the government is facism, does not mean that the people are being oppressed. Look at the Third Reich.
For this reason, Iceland will keep 4 million people, while you may have 1 million. Does that seem fair to you?

The UPSS parade army was now in Copenhagen. They were dressed in full parade attire, and carrying freshly shined weaponry. Every soldier was perfect, from the way he marched to the way his eyes glimmered in the mid-day sun. Te army began marching, with tanks in the lead, throughout the main streets of Copenhagen. Ballons were being released, and the festivities were in full throttle. Among the cheering crowds could be heard the occasional boos and hisses of the pro-fascist citizens, but this was to be expected, and since the UPSS was a land built upon the principles of equality, those people would be allowed to give their opinion. Finally, all the soldiers had passed, and a car drove behind. Sitting in it was President Miller and his wife, Lady Brittney Miller, and they calmly waved to the populace as they drove by. A band behind them played the national anthem, and the President won over the hearts of a few citizens who had formerly had rebellious thoughts. Finally, the parade halted as the presidents car pulled into the main square. The president got out and walked over to a podium that had been prepared for him. The crowd waited anxiously. Finally, President Miller began to speak.Ladies and Gentlemen, citizens of Denmark. I come to you today with joyous news! As of today, the Islands of Denmark have become the latest province in the UPSS! Cheers erupt from the crowd, and the President waits for them to quiet. I assure you, the UPSS government will stop at nothing to deliver you whatever your heart desires. These islands will be treated as if they had been members of the UPSS from the start, and will be given equal and immediate representation. My beloved citizens, today, you have FREEDOM! Cheers once again erupt, and this time the president steps back and enjoys the moment.
Soon after the parade, the president flew back to Stockholm. He had an urgent meeting to conduct.

Back in Stockholm, the President rushed into a meeting with all his top advisors. He looked directly at his top advisor, and began the meeting. "Priority one is making sure that all the people in our newly acquired land become citizens. Step one is obtaining personal records, health, crime, everything. I need some to contact Iceland immediately and figure out the cost for those. Drive a hard bargain - but don't drive them off. Secondly, we need to keep the news out of that region to a minimum. There are sure to be dissenters, but I don't want the press to know. Second, try to beef up the police for a time in the islands. They will keep the violence to a minimum, and we can reduce their numbers after the situation calms. Thirdly, it is time to begin the execution of our newly written defensive doctrine. That means military bases on these islands. I want construction to begin immediately. Focus mainly on anti-aircraft weaponry, but we will need other stuff as well. Airfields, barracks, bunkers, beach defenses - you know the drill. The purpose of these islands, while we wish to defend them as well, is to defend the mainland as a first line of defense. The same goes for the islands already in our possession. Alright men, you have your orders. Now get to work."

clean fruits. If so much as a single bushel or fruit it tainted we will not
send the documents as such. Is this understood and accepted by your
national leader?
OOC: Ahem. Did you ask for fruit?
IC: I am sure that we can provide this. Our allies in Italy have some of the best fruit plantations left. We wish to reduce your price to 150 million bushels first however. Will this be acceptable?

This is accepted, and once all the bushels of vegetation have
been scanned for disease and the such, we will send over the
documents with all haste necessary to make up for the lost
time.

We will send such vegetation at once (OOC: does crabgrass count? lmao). Please send the documents to the UPSS governmental buildings in Copenhagen.
