OOC: If others think they get to tell me how to roleplay things, well. They get to do things themselves.

Me deleting this whole thing has nothing to do with anyone who's posted here. I just won't roleplay the nation as totally crippled both mentally and physically just because others say so. And by others I mean "person". And that person should know who he is.

OOC:.... well I wouldn't mind if you gave us a little more to work with in terms of a plot...

Just as the somewhat sketchy accounts from the scared deserters who had thought it to be even better to face death through execution if they were caught than staying in the jungle had attested to, something was lurking in the southern jungles, and it was obvious that whatever it was, it would not let the desert dwellers to spread their domain there, no matter how hard they tried. People were too scared to cut down any of the jungle, as those who had tried had mysteriously disappeared one after another.

The deserters had not lied of what they had seen, just as one would expect from men who knew that they would be facing death anyway - the jungle seemed to teem with gigantic, black spiders which had an obvious taste for human flesh, but not of those strange black skinned men who accompanied them where ever they met the invading forces. As usually meeting them meant having been ambushed by these predatory spiders, which also meant quick death unless one managed to run away faster than his comrades.

The men who were with the spiders were the black sorcerers of the jungle. Through some strange, evil magicks they had made these deadly spiders their allies, but as the desert dwellers would surely notice sooner or later, that was not the full extent of their powers. Already rumors of strange men coming from the jungle during the darkness of the night and disappearing into the wastelands and of mysterious disappearances of certain men with lowly bureaucratic positions and gruesome deaths of the same had begun to circulate among the common folk, but none of the regular patrols had been able to even catch a glimpse of them. Maybe they were simply a creation of too active imaginations, or maybe... Just maybe... They were real. The deaths and the disappearances, however, were quite easily verifiable as being true.

Whatever could all this mean? Were they somehow related to the stories of the evils of the jungle? No one knew for sure, not even the priests of their great religion whom had continuously been praying for an answer from their respective gods at their ancient temples, which were said to have been built in a time when they still walked amongst men.

No one knew. Not yet.

(OOC: There is no concrete single plot here. There'll be a collection of smaller stories about clashings of different cultures on a planet that is obviously ripe with strange ruins with no one there to call them their own, technologically low human cultures with strange abilities and so forth. Most cultures on this planet will never even be able to meet each other due to the seas being rather treacherous, even if they managed to make ships that technically could sail the seas.)

OOC:TAG, great writing, but from your description, your people are tech low but magic high. And an FT tech high race can interact with them?

OOC: I'm interested. I think this can do wonders for a thread I have planned. The Coming Curse. Twill be all the rage.
