Imperial Declaration: Generia Withdraws From CAD Alliance
Generic empire

Official Imperial Statement
The sovereign Orthodox nation of the Generic Empire, under the wise and absolute rule of his most eminent Majesty, Emperor Kazatmiru I (Supreme Ruler of Generia and her Dominions, by the grace of God), has decided in light of recent revelations concerning fellow members of the CAD, specifically the nation of Doomingsland, to leave this alliance, its bureaucracy, and its influence.
The Emperor, acting on behalf of the people, has reached this conclusion upon considering the rampant hypocrisy of the longtime Imperial ally mentioned above. The offenses of this allegedly Christian state include such barbarism as internal and external pogroms, labeled “crusades” and undertaken not in defense of the Christian faith, but solely for the benefit of the Doomingsland Empire. Furthermore, as a Christian nation under a Christian Emperor, Generia cannot, with full regard to the consciences of her citizens, allow herself to be associated with a state that mocks the crucifixion of Our Lord by executing thieves, murderers, and traitors by way of the cross.
The Empire hopes that in the future, it can reconcile its differences with the nation of Doomingsland, and hopes that in time it will rediscover the Catholic faith of which it speaks so dearly but adheres so poorly to. In the meantime, however, Emperor Kazatmiru makes clear that Generia will no longer have anything to do with the CAD bloc, and will act independently of any and all influences originating thereof.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
IMPERIVM DOOMANVM
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/seal2.gif
Never did I ever once think that I would see the day that I would be betrayed by my own flesh and blood, let alone in the Imperium's darkest hour. Apparently my faith in my dear uncle, Kazatmiru of Generia, was sorely misplaced: his own vanity has completely shattered nearly one hundred years of Doomani-Generian brotherhood, and for what?
Kazatmiru, you bring nothing but shame to the House of Alexei. Your father -my grandfather- His Magesty Emperor Antonius I, would be sickened and disgusted by the crimes you have commited against your family. You betray a pact sealed in blood by my father and Alexei himself! How many Doomani have given their lives to preserve Generia from the plagues of communism, heathen subversion, and traitorous dogs? You betray their memories!
And the time you choose for your betrayal is impeccable. You wait for pagan hordes to ravage our lands before commencing your cowardly belligerence; tell me, Kazatmiru: how is it that you claim to honor our Lord when you value the lives of pagans over those of your brother Christians?
You claim us to Crusade for the sole benefit of the Imperium? Fools. What we have done has been for the glory of all Christendom. You forget that because of the blood shed by our Legionaries- and myself, Generian citizens can now roam the streets of the Holy City of Jerusalem unmolested by the infidel, free to visit the place of Christ's death and resurrection, his place of birth, the lands he preached in. This treachery is nothing short of spitting in the face of God and shall not be stood for. Effective immediately, all Generian citizens- including the ambassador -have twenty-four hours to leave Imperial soil before the Inquisition is granted the authority to prosecute them for the vile crime of heresy.
Kazatmiru, your treachery shall not go unpunished. In the Name of God, Sofia shall burn for your heinous sins against Him, and against your family. Your continued existence is a stain upon His Earth, and I shall not stand for it.

Official Imperial Statement-
The Empire should have expected no less from the Doomish barbarians than such belligerence. In response, His Infinite Majesty, Emperor Kazatmiru I, by the grace of God, hereby decrees that all Doomish citizens, including diplomatic and military personnel will have exactly twenty-four hours to vacate Generian Imperial territory. Any found violating this decree following the specified time period will be shot.
Furthermore, any aggression by of the Doomish state towards Generia, her citizens, dominions, or dependencies will be met with the greatest force. Tread wisely, Maximus. The Empire will no longer stand by quietly.

Ajer, the Grand Democratic Duchy of Yafor 2
Jyorin Kiamelar was not a usual visitor to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but his presence was never unwanted. He was smart, articulate, and had a good grasp of the obvious - qualities that often were lacking in the Ministry. His political affiliations tended to be a bit obscure - a registered member of the Libertarian-Capitalists, he would be as likely to vote with the Socialists than with the LCP. He was one of the few pushing for a Yaforite national "identity", something that the Grand Democratic Duchy had never had since the fall of Emperor Julianus II, more than a thousand years ago. Nonetheless, he was very good at what he did and there was no question that he was one of the best in the business regarding Foreign Affairs.
The former ambassador to Pacitalia wasted no time in entering Davrain Nayadol's office, despite the fact that he had only just entered into it. Jyorin had never been someone to delay when he could not delay (though he was fine waiting, he just preferred not to). His face was, as always, difficult to read, but the spring in his step indicated that he was glad about something. The youthful Minister of Foreign Affairs looked up from his desk, looking somewhat surprised at Jyorin's unplanned appearance. Davrain Nayadol and Jyorin Kiamelar, though they knew each other on sight, rarely had had any contact face to face.
The toll of the job was clear on Davrain's face. It seemed worn and drawn out, having something that a year ago would have never touched his face. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was always active, dealing with dispatches from all across the world, and even in times of isolationism (the Grand Democratic Duchy had not been seriously involved in international politics for a long time, excluding affairs in Questers, of course). "Have you seen the latest news from Sofia, Davrain?" Jyorin Kiamelar's voice was a deep baritone, odd, coming from a man as short as he was. "The news from Generia is surprisingly good, for a change."
Davrain shuffled some papers, then removed a small half-sheet with the title "Imperial Declaration" on it and the Generian government's seal. He quickly scanned it, grinning more and more as he progressed line by line. "Withdrawing from CAD? Talk about good fortune!" He grinned again, pushing a button down. "Get me Nakhran Narimov immediately." he said into the intercom.

Having been alerted to a possible conflict concerning the admittance of Generic Empire into the ranks of Gholgoth, Damien Dreadfire wasted no time in condemning the statement by Maximus. The message was broadcast on open channels, and was presented by Dreadfire's personal servant....The One.
Come now Maximus, you are hardly in any position to be making threats while your lands bleed at the hands of the Freekish war machine. I would think a man in such a bind would be careful to mind his tongue, for incurring the wrath of the entire Gholgoth brotherhood is suicide in its purest form.
Supreme Warlord Damien Dreadfire decrees that the threats against Generic Empire will not stand, and to meet any confrontation head on he has ordered *all* Gholgothan forces to move to high alert. Though Generic Empire is new to this regional alliance, it is our sacred oath to defend our brother states no matter what, and we will not betray our vows now.
Your death is already at hand Maximus....coming to Gholgoth will make that death come on even swifter wings.

The One Who Shall Remain Unnamed
-Lord of the Death Dealers-
Servant of the Dread Fires
Hours after the transmission was sent, tribal defenses and the remaining garrisons of the Automagfreek military were moved to the highest alert. Active patrols around the Excessively Armed Empire were lessened and diverted to bolster the already formidable defenses of Generic Empire, and reserve ships were already being summoned forth into service to sustain adequate defensive levels around AMF proper.
The southern tribes of Fallen were the first to respond to Lord Damien's call, sending forth their finest warriors to defend Gholgoth from any aggressor, large or small. Freekish officials then began moitoring the airwaves for the inevitable response from their regional allies, who would not tolerate such threats in the slightest to those who called the brotherhood of Gholgoth home.
Dreadfire's announcement of the high alert of all Gholgothan forces came at an opportune time in Harakian politics. The centre-right parties had found a recent upswing in support for the government based on the Harakian lend-lease program offered to Allanea, and the latest budget, including expansions to many social programs, had swayed over many of the centre-leftists. With public support at nearly 70% for the first time in over two years, the Social Democrats foresaw an easy ride for some months ahead. Aside from that, they were safe from major belligerence by other major parties, based entirely on the current state of the world. Several smaller parties had been calling for Harakian direct military intervention in Allanea's war against the Doomani, or sending forces to the Silver Skyian invasion of Hataria. With such warlike fervour abounding in the Harakian parliament, though the Social Democrats had no intention of declaring war on any nations in the immediate future, they had a solid base to stand on.
The order was given mere hours after Dreadfire's announcement for all professional ground forces to be placed on high alert and to be ready for deployment anywhere within twelve hours. Non-divisional ground elements began being sectioned into temporary assignments, attached to divisions and forming independent units. Flight and convoy plans to ferry troops to Generic Empire were readied, in the very unlikely event ground combat was initiated. All air forces were ordered to perform tests to ensure readiness for combat within under a day's notice, with advance and frontline units on immediate standby for deployment anywhere in the world. All air force reservists were warned of the possibility of immediate calls to action, and all reserve planes were ordered to have maintenance and flight-readiness checks performed within the next forty-eight hours by reserve technicians. A standing notice was given to all semi-professional ground forces to be ready to report to bases within twenty-four hours, and to all reservists that they may be called upon, but would be given more time.
On the naval front, all patrolling taskforces and naval groups were ordered to report to the nearest Harakian colony or naval base for restructuring into regional fleets. All forces near to the mainland and all ships on standby or patrol in Harakian ports and national waters were ordered to full readiness and restructuring into multiple battlefleets, several of which were to be preliminarily deployed to Generian waters, most likely in conjunction with other Gholgothan fleets. The significant naval forces present in Haraki's major colonies were ordered to run immediate shakedown procedures to ensure maximum efficiency should they be called on to action. The naval reserves were not notified of a possibility of mobilization, not yet. Though any war started would most likely begin at sea, the reservists would be of no use until such time as they were absolutely needed.
In a public address, Haraki's foreign minister, Peter Firth, gave the following brief speech:
"It seems the Doomani do not know when they are beaten. Facing defeat against the forces of Automagfreek and Allanea, they have decided to make yet another enemy by declaring the Generians enemies of the Doomani and vowing their destruction. Given Generia's newfound status as a member of Gholgoth, we, and our brothers, will not stand for this. Even as I speak, massed mobilization is in the very first stages in Haraki, and I hope that Maximum sees reason and we can halt it here. In other Gholgothan nations, they take the same steps we do, to ensure the defence of our brother nation against whatever Doomani forces could be spared from their defensive campaigns in other parts of the world.
"Should the Doomani decide to make their threats a reality, they will not find an easy target of it. All of Gholgoth stands as one, and we will stand with our Generian brothers no matter what rhetoric the Doomani can spew. Thank you."

"I am in full support of our new Generian brethren. We of Gholgoth are not the type to sit back as one of our own is threatened. Most often than not, the threatening nation is reduced to smoking rubble and homeless civilians.
I am authorizing the full mobilization of the entire Sigman war machine into red alert, just in case you're actually stupid enough to go after our little brother. My people have already been fighting against yours through support of our NATO ally Allanea in Africa, but will not just sit in a support role if you threaten one of Gholgoth.
Watch what you say and do in the next days, as it could very well herald your end."
-High General James B. Snowlander
In Europe, Pantera's fleets along the Baltic coast had begun to move even before the media had announced the Lord Reaver's mobilization. And, by the time his face appeared on the evening news programs, the fleet was coming around Demnark and readying to steam out into the North Sea.
The broadcast message was brief and delivered in a curt growl,"On my order, Reaver forces in Gholgoth and across the world are readying to defend the rights of our newest ally. The Generic Empire now counts itself among the Gholgothan family, and we will tolerate no action against Generia or the Empire's holdings.'
"The Panteran nation readies itself for battle and victory. For Pantera, Generia, and mighty Gholgoth."
A number of Panteran Lords and generals boarded flights for Generia, eager to begin on-site preperations for the Empire's defense.

"Perhaps it's time we came back into the international scene, my Lord?"
The elderly Councilman moved himself into a more comfortable position on the high back leather chair. The room around him lit by the sun that shone through the large windows behind the mahogany desk. Bookcases full of texts lined the walls, as well as many exquisite paintings, a few pedastals with the busts of heroes that lived long ago.
"Perhaps you are right, my old friend. For nearly a hundred years we sat isolate on this island of ours, rebuilding our strength slowly but surely. And rest assured no one has forgotten the past. It was my own blood that founded the CAD, my blood that ruled it long, first as President then as Senator. And it was my own blood that was shed in the forefronts when those bastards called Sverdoc invaded our home region. Our nation paid the penalty for defending the lands of the CAD, and what did we receive in return? A dictatorship in the place of the rightful Senate, headed by the Doomani, those who had at one time sworn fealty to us and the standards which we raised at the end of the Vladimir Wars."
The middle aged man, dressed casually in black pants and a blue long sleeved, button up shirt that had the last two unbuttoned. His short brown hair was well kept, and his face cleanly shaven. He took up a pen and began to write on a piece of paper.
"I shall send this to Taledon command, to relay to all parties involved in this little incident."
Nations of the World, Foremost among them my former brothers in Doomingsland and the Generic Empire:
I see corruption and pestilance within this conflict. Men who have fought alongside each other for generations now fighting against each other, as if a disfunctional family. You all fight for superiority over each other, but if I may, I'd like to give a short history lesson.
There once was a time, before most of the great powers of the world had been shaped, and it was free reign for almost every nation, there was a small bit of land being invaded by communist forces. I will not delve deeper into the happenings of the three wars that raged within the territory of the Soviet Expanse, but I will speak of the outcome. A new power had arisen from the ashes, formed by the triumvirate that had defeated their enemies in all three wars, as battle brothers. Crimsdale, Doomingsland, and Arctica. These three made sacred oaths to support each other in all affairs. Calling themselves the CAD, they grew in power and size, recruiting many new nations, among them, the Generic Empire. There was peace within this alliance, until a great war erupted, almost bringing the end of the CAD.
But the alliance prevailed, and grew strong once again, but now only Doomingsland stood at the head of CAD, for Crimsdale had been destroyed in the beginning moments of the war, and the Arctican people nearly all wiped out in their heroic crusade to retake the ancestral lands of the CAD forces. Corruption set in, power maddening the mind of the Doomani leader, and many of the oaths of brotherhood and unquestioned loyalty were forgotten, a loose band of nations in the place of a once unified and mighty league.
I do not blame the Doomani for what has happened, but everyone in the CAD. They all did nothing, simply complying without any care, growing corrupt and powerhungry on their own, helping each other only when it suited their own needs. A mockery of what the CAD once stood for. But enough of past, the present is much more important.
If you had not guessed it already, I am the direct descendant of the very same Emperor Mathew Kellerman that co-founded the CAD, my people, who now take the name of Taledonians, are the last survivors of the noble race you knew as the Arcticans. I call to make good the oaths of old, the oaths of brotherhood and allegiance. As the descendant of one of the true leaders of the CAD, I request under a banner of grey neutrality both Emperors Maximus and Kazatmiru to journey to my palace. A parley, for there is much we can discuss if both parties are willing. You'll find our island in the South Atlantic, rather secluded, the only one that is industrialised. You can't miss it.
With sincerest regards,
Emperor Julianos Kellerman of Taledonia

29-05-2007, 05:43
It was this exact situation that OPLAN: ABLE VIGIL was developed by the Operations Division of the Aequatian Joint Chiefs of Staff, a hostile nation threatening the sovereignty of an ally or interest of the Republic. Doomingsland's Maximus III drew the attention of the Aequatian leadership and they immediately set the gears in motion to turn OPLAN: ABLE VIGIL into OPERATION: ABLE VIGIL II, named so after the current Cravanian exercise following the same doctrine of preparing to deploy several divisions under a corps command along with its supporting elements and mobilizing them to the allied nation. However, the military would not get its way immediately, the politicians choosing to take the diplomatic point first, hoping to avoid the high material and human cost of deployment and yet another scrap for the Republic.
President Holden Reid was a staunch supporter of Gholgoth, a student under Premier Bomfy, he knew the value in the alliance formed long ago with the nation of Automagfreek, a pact signed in the physical blood spilled onto Freek soil by Aequatian servicemen in the early days of the empire to maintain peace in a once-troubled nation, the care of the Aequatian citizen no better exemplified than their sacrifices committed there. And it was with this that he also pledged the Republic's support of the newest addition to the Gholgoth community, Generia, against the threats posed by Doomingsland. Should aggression stand, the Republic would stand against it with its comrades. The massive airlift hubs of the Aequatian Republic Air Force became abuzz with activity as they prepared for their deployment, the naval yards of the Republic's vast coastline started to receive the first wave of Aequatian personnel, mainly logisticians and generals as they outlined the needs of the military from the civil shipping lines of Aequatio, the interprovincial causeways cleared of the necessary lanes to help move the transport vehicles from various bases inland towards the massive air and sea ports and the civilian population once again swept in nationalist fervour as their nation prepared to go to war once again for a noble cause.
The Aequatian general chosen as the leader of the coming operation was none other than Army General Heinrich Schutzmann along with his staff as they boarded one of the secret flights bound for Generia as they were to meet with their Gholgothic counterparts. General Schutzmann, pleased to be given the honour of working alongside the nation's greatest allies, was more than motivated for the fight that was to come, although driven by the same desires and experiences of an infantry officer to prevent that same battle. Far ahead of conventional forces were the specialized aircraft of the Air Force such as the E-14B Capricorn SIG/ELINT collection and analysis aircraft and E-14C Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft for searching out enemy transmissions and aircraft alike.

A short message was sent off from the office of President Kilo;
Generia, we support your action, and that of the statement of Automagfreek. We agree that the Doomani leadership do not fight in the name of the Lord Himself, only using His name for Doomingsland's gains - a sin in of itself.
We applaud and support your action. We wish we could stand by your side should Doomani forces attempt to attack you, however we are currently not in the position to, fighting off Doomani forces in our own land.
Once again, we applaud and support your actions. We are glad you have seen the light of the Lord himself. We wish you luck and hope we may, in the future, improve relations that have been devistated in the past by the current leader of the rebellion forces - the traitor Villian.
Thank you, and God Bless.

"And? So? But? Therefore?"
Castellan Amber Fotheringown looked around the conference table, but not one person looked back. If they did, they quickly looked away and squirmed. Finally, Commander Bradlee Reid, the nominal senior military commander spoke up:
"We could always send an envoy to mediate-"
"Mediate?!" Amber roared, making everyone flinch. "We disbanded all our forces and rebuilt them from the ground up! We spent twenty trillion dollars putting millions of people into uniform and you're telling us to mediate?! Brad, you're our military commander. If you won't lead, I'm firing you and I'll find someone else with the balls who knows how to fight!"
"Perhaps you're right." Intelligence offered. "But still, are we going to be this rash-"
"Rash? Rash? Rash?!" Amber's fist landed on the table. "Rash is going on the attack! Rash is actually using our military forces for something useful other than a black hole that does nothing except suck up valuable people, resources and money!
"If I had my rash way, we'd be at war with Bloomingdales!"
"Doomingsland." The aide de camp leaned forward and muttered that sotto voce.
"Whoever! We have a military for a reason! If this thing goes sour, I want us cranked up and ready for a war! I want our forces ready to go! I want our forces ready to wade into them and spill their blood! I want them ready to grab the enemy by the nose and kick him in the ass! We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose!
"And I want them to know! Tell Doomingsland in those exact words!" Amber shoved her seat back from the table and left. From: (Doctor, PhD) Marianne Brooks, Acting Minister of Diplomacy, Adejaani

Re: Proclamation, re: Generic Empire
You are more eloquent than Shakespeare himself. However, your intent is perhaps best suited towards an episode of Jerry Springer. Let's face it: Sovereign nations can do as they like, that's why they're called sovereign nations.
Posture all you like, use all the words you like to describe Generic Empire's actions. But if you want GE, you'll have to get past (us and the rest of Gholgoth) first.

The Government of Kahanistan praises the Bold Imperium of Generia and its Emperor Kazatmiru I for finally seeing the Imperium Doomanum for what it is; a backward nation of savages whose atrocities against humanity, far from spreading the word of God, in fact incite those in other nations to detest Catholicism.
We will take any Doomani nationals expelled from Generia who do not wish to return to Doomingsland while it is at war, although we understand that many will not want to come here. In any event, we hope that they are sent to a safe nation. The Doomani civilians do not deserve to perish so that Maximus can continue capturing and selling slaves in the most abominable of professions.

The Priory of New Jerusalem, Naestoria
about 2030 hours, June 14, 2026
"How lovely...." Kaiton Aurelius murmured.
He was alone. In the dying sun his room, facing the west, was illuminated in blood-red; he glanced up past the iridescent orange ball beyond his window and the streaks of pink and dark blue that graced the skies of barbarian territory beyond the border that was the Jordan River, once known as the Hudson. Aurelius was the youngest of the Grand Priors of Naestoria, but he certainly didn't feel it; at fifty-three he had watched his homeland build up from near-nothing to a thriving empire of a hundred million, had watched as the corrupt pseudo-democracy of the United States had crumbled into dust, and rightfully so.
His eyes traveled down from his half-opened window, across the oak-paneled floors (pausing briefly to rest on the heavy door to his office), and back to the papers, which he had dropped upon his own desk. The dossier consisted of a few leaves; the official announcements from Generia, Doomingsland, Automagfreek and her allies, along with the official position of the Academy's Foreign Affairs Department (summarised as 'who the fuck cares?') and clippings of other relevant information.
"So Generia leaves the Cads, and within a few days -- surprise, surprise -- it's been accepted into Gholgoth. And the Cads themselves are fairly aligned with the Ess-ell, no matter how much both parties try to deny it.... Gholgothans must be desperate to gain any advantage they might contrive to from their little Cold War."
These, and other such musings, escaped Aurelius's lips as he reread the packet, half-smiling as he perused Maximus's statement.
"That's Doomingsland for you," he said, to himself (no-one else was in the room after all). "No matter what happens, they're going to make it into war and belligerence. Never heard of tact or diplomacy, they have." He looked from that to Minister Hartman's message, and back; "Surprised they hate the Freeks so much. With their mutual lack of understanding for diplomacy, beyond 'We're stronger than you so you have to do what we say', the Doomies and the Freeks are more similar than different." He chuckled. "Maybe that's why."
Personally, Aurelius was inclined to support anyone but Doomingsland. Like fully three-quarters of Naestorians, he was a Roman Catholic and found their apparent disregard for the actual teachings of Christ particularly abhorrent. It wasn't entirely their fault, however; he had observed the few Doomani immigrants to Naestoria -- there were always a few who were attracted by the idea of a pure meritocracy, rather than Doomingsland's pseudo-capitalist dictatorship -- and they were as scandalised by the orthodox Holy Bible as the average Naestorian was by the Reichite Bible, which Doomingsland too had adopted.
Aurelius knew the story: millennia ago, when the Doomani were still a barbaric and uncivilised people, missionaries had come bringing Christianity with them. Like any sensible nation, the Doomani people had embraced it; but perhaps these missionaries came from Vegana or Iesus Christi; or perhaps the Doomani were simply by nature a martial and warlike people and interpreted the traditional Holy Bible to suit their own needs. Whichever it was, the Doomani had ended up with a version of the Bible that totally eschewed the turn-the-other-cheek mentality espoused in the better-known form of Jesus's teachings. Aurelius could well understand why the Doomani were so perplexed at the claims of the masses that their views were "unchristian".
Himself amused, and wondering only how long it would be until the two great blocs erupted into all-out war, Aurelius locked the papers in one of the oak drawers and rose, (bloody arthritis, he could be heard murmuring under his breath) his feet creaking on the old floorboards. One last, almost longing glance out to where the sun had now set beneath the distant outlines of the mountains, and the darkening sky; then the key turned in the lock, and the room was empty once more.
Naestoria issued no statement. What would be the point?

The Charr
30-05-2007, 04:06
Silence was a foreign concept here. From the depths of the Maguuma Jungle, countless bizarre creatures echoed their bellowing calls across the lands, as they cried out to mates, attacked their prey, or simply asserted dominance over their particular patch of land. Interspersing the cries of wildlife were the whistling chirrups and grating squawks of thousands of birds, and the high-pitched whistling sounds of hunting Devourers. This close to the border of the jungle, one had to get used to the volume, as it was ceaseless and overwhelming.
Like most other Charrian habitations, this large United Clans military base was spartan and primitive in appearance, nothing but a shambles of tents and slapped-together wooden huts. The airstrip nearby belied its primitive nature however, and when the deafening klaxon began to wail over even the sound of the wildlife, the benign facility burst to life.
Warriors burst out of their tents as a growling voice echoed across the base, ordering them to prepare to do battle. As though an earthquake had taken hold, the very ground shook as thousands of boisterous Charr stampeded across the area, rushing to grab equipment packs and weapons from the armouries and to join the congregations of anxious comrades. Much back-slapping and excited roaring ensued. A haze of dust was whipped up as numerous large transport helicopters began to twirl their blades, and more approached from the sea, preparing to move the hyped horde of soldiers elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the politicians set the bureaucratic machinations into motion. Three clans - Thraktok, Zukatha and Yathkavish - had agreed to commit their armed forces to the Horde, which given the internal strife regarding Gholgoth was no small order. Yathkavish in particular was always eager to spill a little blood, of course, and having a leader named 'Mankiller' this was no surprise, but the other two clans were not generally in favour of their allegiances at the moment. The absence of the other four clans' forces said volumes about their own opinions. Burntfur had proposed the idea, in an effort to foster greater feelings of unity with their maligned political neighbours through the time honoured common heritage of all Charr - the rush of battle. Even with only three clans pledged, and even if nothing came of it, it could still work.
'Twas not more than eight centennials ago that the Charrian Hordes actioned against the stupidity of similarly heretical and oppressive maniacs. Great battles were the order of the day, and though outnumbered our brave ancestors conquered the aggressors and restored honour to these lands. Such is the legacy they created. Such is the legacy the Generic Empire will enjoy on this day.
Ill-contented to endure a slow death, the dishonoured souls of Doomingsland seek to exercise their atrophied muscles in unwarranted aggression against those who would abandon them to their deserved fate. With what? Has now their imaginary divinity gifted them with armies of spirits? You would be well advised to defend your own people from the onslaught of Damien Dreadfire, rather than spread your forces thinly for the sake of pointless vendettas.
Our Horde, three clans strong, will manifest itself against any such threat aimed towards our newly-anointed brethren, whether that threat is imaginary or otherwise. They are preparing for battle as we speak. When paired with the rest of the pledged Gholgoth forces, perhaps this time would be appropriate to reconsider your short-sightedness, and retreat back to the shadows from whence you came? Certainly it will extend your despicable lives by only a morsel, but perhaps in that extra time you may yet be able to find a way of reclaiming some semblance of honour.

Marshall Sverik Iljievo, Supreme Commander of the Generian Imperial Armed Forces, answering only to the Emperor Kazatmiru himself, strolled into the Imperial war room deep within the maze of twisted corridors beneath the Imperial Palace in Sofia. Before him were a collection of eleven men, the representatives of the departments of the military and the security bureaus that kept the Imperial hammer greased and ready to fall.
They rose as he entered, with the exception of one, Lord Varus Tiberius Alexei, Emperor Kazatmiru’s personal representative and closest advisor. Iljievo sat down at the opposite end of the table from the berobed vizier. The others took this as their signal and regained their seats.
“Gentlemen, I’ll do my best to keep it short. The Emperor has asked us personally to convene and to discuss the various situations currently confronting the Empire. Foremost among them, the belligerence of our former Doomani allies. As you’ve all read their response to our recent withdrawal from the CAD alliance, you can agree with me that the outspoken threats of their emperor, while no doubt infused with his typical bluster, cannot be ignored. The Imperial Government has passed along its concerns to our newfound allies in Gholgoth who have lost no time in displaying support in the form of a full mobilization. For this, we must be grateful, though I question whether Maximus is sane enough to let it deter him.”
Varus listened silently, betraying no emotion, save for a near imperceptible grimace at the last bit. It was a well kept secret that he had fervently advised Kazatmiru not to withdraw from the CAD, and it still stuck in his throat to consider Maximus, an old personal acquaintance, an enemy of Generian interests. His master was the Emperor, however, and he would serve him faithfully, even if he thought his choices folly.
“I have ordered the Generian Imperial Armed Forces to be put on high alert,” continued Iljievo. “Our ports and military bases will be prepared to receive the deployments of our allies. Admiral Stekov, you have received orders not to molest ships flying the colors of the Gholgoth states, yes?”
An older officer, in the decorated blue uniform of the Imperial navy, nodded.
“Yes, General. By God and the Emperor, they will be welcomed as friends into Generian waters. With luck, Imperial warships will soon join them in making scrap metal of Maximus’s fleets.”
Iljievo cracked a dry smile.
“With luck, Admiral.”
He glanced down at a stack of documents set before him.
“On a not entirely unrelated note, gentlemen, we must not forget the war currently raging in our northernmost province. It seems our Alberian stepchildren are proving tenacious in their little rebellion. In light of the Doomish threat, it seems wise that we put a swift end to this war, through whatever means necessary. General Zravic, your report on the situation.”
General Zravic, clad in the green uniform of the Imperial regular army, rose to his feet. He had commanded the Imperial forces in Alberia since mid May.
“Marshall, since the evacuation of Port Likiev, the Army has effectively sealed off access to the province, taking control of the main passes through the Deska mountains, and securing the flatland southeastern border with the rest of the northern provinces. Admiral Lekov’s 2nd fleet is currently blockading the coastline, and is shelling rebel positions in Port Likiev in expectation of the assault on that city, planned for the spring.”
Iljievo listened patiently. It was no secret that many of his higher ranking subordinates were displeased with the lack of concrete progress in Alberia during the period of Zravic’s command. His predecessor, General N’riev had at least shown a taste for offensives. Zravic, however, preferred to wait for the spring thaw, when mobility would be much improved.
“Is it possible, in your opinion General, to move that assault up?”
Zravic’s expression was stern. He was no fool, and was well aware that there were many who disagreed with his methods. However, he had been picked to do the job for a reason, and as such was not swayed by his opinionated compatriots.
“Sir, in all honesty, I think that moving the attack up before this April would be a mistake. Once the city was occupied, it would be impossible to attempt a breakout with the weather conditions as they are.”
There was an audible murmur rising from the others in the room.
“Very well, General,” replied Iljievo. His tone betrayed no personal opinions on what had been said. He continued.
“Imperial coastal defenses have been put on a wartime alert, and the security bureaus, namely Imperial Intelligence and the Special Police Initiative are maintaining a tight screen. Mr. Cac can elaborate.”
Dmitri Cac, head of the Generian Imperial Intelligence Service, and the great-grandson of the original head of that bureau under Emperor Antonius I, rose to his feet.
“Thank you, General. It’s no secret that Maximus is looking to expand the operations of his pet terrorist organization, Manus Dei, into the Generian dominions. While the Generian Catholic Church has officially and repeatedly come out against the brutality of this organization and the general manner of practice of Catholicism in Doomingsland, and while the overwhelming majority of Generian Catholics have shown disgust at the tactics of the Doomish Church, chatter that our network has come across points to various attempts to infiltrate radical Catholic communities, largely composed of Doomani immigrants. As it stands, my colleagues in the SPI have arrested dozens of members of these communities who have either openly voiced support for or actively contributed to the Doomani Catholic Church’s aggressive policies. This should take care of a good number of possible recruits, however, it is likely that within a few months we will see heightened activity from Manus Dei itself, or copycat cells with similar aims. The security bureaus, however, I feel are more than equipped to handle this threat.”
Iljievo nodded as Cac finished.
“Very well. Lord Varus, do you have anything to add?”
“Thank you, Marshall,” he said, remaining in his seat across from Iljievo. “As it stands, the Empire is facing a very real threat, and while I know we are more than capable of combating it, the Emperor expects that no possibilities will be overlooked. The Doomish are a resourceful breed. They’ve been our allies for many years, and they know us well. We, however, know them better. This is obvious from the Emperor’s recent actions, namely withdrawing from the CAD. I trust His Majesty’s judgment completely, and if he believes that the Doomani are a ticking time bomb, then it was high time we got away. Our new allies in Gholgoth have come to our support in record time, and I have no reason to doubt their commitment. Still, do not let this compromise your own vigilance. The Empire is no stranger to war. We have been warriors for centuries, and should it come to our old allies threatening our homeland, we will drive them right back into the heart of Crematoria, in their own country.”
As Varus finished, there was a short burst of applause from some of the more belligerent officers. Iljievo nodded and smiled. Varus was speaking on behalf of the Emperor. Though the vizier may not share Kazatmiru’s sentiments, from his words, Iljievo could tell that the armed forces had the Emperor’s blessing. That was all that mattered. If it came to war, Generia would fight. Those who stood beside her in battle may be different from those who had in the past, but nothing else had changed. The Empire was still a warlike state, and still would not be bullied.

Official Imperial Statement:
To the nations of the world who have shown their support for our actions, the Imperium extends its hand in friendship. All nations who recognize the true nature of the Doomish state and the very real evil which it represents can never be enemies of Generia. To those who have suffered at the hands of Maximus, through his self-serving crusades and purges, including the nations of ViZion and Kahanistan, we promise you that God’s justice on your behalf will soon come on swift wings. Though we have had our differences with ViZion, we are not a nation to hold a grudge, and can forgive past misunderstandings in light of present situations.
To our brethren in Gholgoth, His Infinite Majesty Emperor Kazatmiru extends his personal thanks. Should Maximus put bite to his bark, the Generian people and the armies that defend their sovereignty will never shy away from a fight, and will proudly hold the line and shed blood beside such allies.
To Maximus and the Doomani Government, we only bid that you look upon the stage that you have set through your own mistakes and warlike bluster. The nations of the world line up against you. Should you choose the path of folly and send your armies to break against the high shores of the Imperial coast, we promise you that it will mean the end of your nation and its reign of terror. Never again would men be called upon to join such a worthy fight, and never would the victory awaiting us be sweeter or more justified in the eyes of God himself.
Maximus, you come to us with your insults, your blasphemies, and your threats. The Empire is unfazed. Come to us with your tanks, your soldiers, and your warships, and we will remain so. Today, Generia, free from your subversion, is truer to its ancestors than it has ever been. The likes of Alexei and Antonius smile upon our actions from their heavenly rest, and the world stands united behind our cause.
