A New Horizon (FT - OPEN, looking for new international relations)

Kharan-Serenno
12-05-2007, 04:22
"Take a look at the sky," a young woman's voice said softly, beholding the thousands of stars shining clearly through Kharan's crystal night sky. In the celestial beauty of the cosmos, it was difficult to believe that this was the same Kharan that just mere months ago was ravaged by horrible destructive warfare against the new incarnation of the Galactic Republic. "Which star is Serenno?"

"That golden one over there," a deeper, clearly male voice spoke, though in a hushed tone, "You should know, it's your homeworld, not mine."

"Which means I should be looking from it, not at it," mused the woman, "At any rate, it hardly appears all that distinct from the other stars around it."

"True," responded the man, "It's part of Lotrokis's beard in his constellation. Before we met your people in the Clone Wars, we assumed it was just another Republic-supporting world."

"As if!" the woman exclaimed in feigned indignance, "Serenno has long been a home to refugees of the Republic's wrath. The very Sunari House I belong to is descended from Vima Sunrider herself."

"And all of Kharan from Lotrokis, the great defier of the Jedi, and the Sirava Clan in particular from Siravus and Kaevee," the other retorted half-seriously, "Besides, which of our worlds killed more Jedi in the Clone Wars."

"That isn't fair!" the woman exclaimed, "We were the capital world of the CIS, we had to make it our top priorty for the Jedi -not- to land."

"Yes, and you did a marvelous job of that..."

"That wasn't our fault, that animal shut down all our droids! How the hell were we supposed to defend ourselves without any army? Honestly, do you have any idea how many of our people died fighting to keep our worlds safe from the invading Clones, how many horrors I witnessed that day?" By the end, her voice was near shouting, with a certain undertone of distress apparant in it.

"I ... I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." the man spoke, taken somewhat aback at this changed tone in his Ghastar's expression.

"I know" she spoke lightly, a tear rolling down her cheek at the memory of those events now a good twenty-two years ago seeming as if they were still occuring.

"I ... I just can't believe it's happening ... in just a week. Our marital vows, the joining of our states," the woman spoke, breaking the akward silence after a moment or so of contemplation, "When I was younger I never could have pictured myself here, but now that I am, I'm glad my intial perceptions were inaccurate."

"I love you Lagia," spoke the man softly.

"And I you, Ragoris."

Another silence fell over the two for a moment; this one more contemplative than akward. "If only the Republic could see us now," Ragoris joked, "'Wanted terrorists' of the past now carrying on like this; the heartless monsters they portrayed us both to be lying here now, reflecting."

The two remained under the skies for another hour or so, though with few additional words. Returning to their chambers silently, the two would reflect further upon these happenings in their dreams.

The Palaces of both Kharan and Serenno were both abuzz with planning the next few days for the grand ceremony, joining together in an eternal bond not only the individuals of Ragoris Sirava and Lagia Sunari, but their represented worlds of Kharan and Serenno. It was a day that would mark a new era in the development of their nations, a day which neither would ever forget.

With the recent independence of both nations, the time had come to begin forging new alliances, new friendships with other worlds; if the Clone Wars had taught them anything it was that friendship is key to survival and liberty.

And so the following letter was sent out to leaders of all known civilizations throughout the galaxy:

Greetings leader of your respective nation,

An event of great magnitude and circumstance is to occur soon marking a new era in the history of our peoples, and opening us up to new diplomatic relationships previously impossible. The wedding of the Supreme Leader Ragoris Sirava of Kharan and Countess Lagia Sunari of Serenno is to occur in five days, coinciding with the Dhestos, the holiest day of the Kharanai calender.

We would like to extend an arm of hospitality to all known worlds to attend this event as a first step in initiating diplomatic relations with the outside world. However, due to the hostilities of the past on the part of several known factions, the following points are stipulated.

1. Any worlds currently, or during the time of the Clone Wars actively in support of the Republic shall have their delegates seated in a special area away from our other guests.

2. No Clones or Jedi loyal to the order shall be permitted entry to Kharan or Serrenno at this or any other point in time due to their actions during the war.

3. Any worlds formerly a member of the CIS will be granted diplomatic priority to their delegates at this event.

To any nation interested in sending a delagate, transport will be provided to the world of Kharan where the ceremony is to be held free of charge courtesy of the Kharanai space corps. During the duration of one's stay, all food and beverages will be provided courtesy of the worlds of Kharan and Serenno.

In hopes of reaching a more united, peaceful universe
