Project Mjolnir Design Brief
During the Ori War, the Earth fleet, at it's height consisting of 20 ships of the BC-303 and BC-304 classes was whittled down at the Coreward Front to a mere five ships of the BC-303 class. Whilst upgrades attained from the Asgard legacy have increased the combat capabilities of the 303s significantly, this is still not enough to adequately defend Earth whilst maintaining an exploratory presence throughout the galaxy. The Allied Control Council has determined that simply commissioning more ships of the current available types would be foolhardy, given the new horizons shown to us by the leaps and bounds in advancement that we now enjoy thanks to the sacrifice of the Asgard. Advancements in hyperdrive, shielding and the huge leaps made in directed-energy weapons made possible by the Asgard legacy simply cannot be fully taken advantage of by the current generation of vessels.
So:
The Allied Control Council will fund a project to commission a battleship designed specially to utilise fully the technologies gained since the Asgard legacy. The ACC feels that current BC-303 and BC-304 designs fulfil the necessary carrier role, and believes that a pure battleship is required, with a focus on powerful DE and KE primary and point-defense weapons rather than a large fighter compliment.
Rough Specifications:
- The ship will be between 300 and 600 metres long.
- The ship will carry next-generation Asgard-based hybrid power plants.
- The ship will carry intergalactic hyperdrive systems utilising Alteran technology gained from the Atlantis project.
- The weapons compliment will consist of Asgard heavy energy weapons for the primary guns, and Naquadah railguns and upscaled plasma weapons for point-defense CIWS.
- A fast-deployment system for the Horizon MIRV weapon will be built-in.
- The ship must be capable of independently repairing significant amounts of damage in deep space.
- The ship must be capable of housing a stargate.
- The ship should be able to use reversed Asgard time-dilation technology for short periods to combat relativistic effects of sublight engines fired at full power.
This project should take up to five years at Area 51, with an additional two years for the production of a prototype and thereafter a year for the production of each ship.
The current working designation for the ship is X-305, and the project will be referred to as 'Mjolnir'.

Project Mjolnir Status Update
The basic systems outline of the ship has been completed. The next step is to stress-test the power generator with simulations of all the proposed systems running concurrently. The generator proposed is currently in early development stages, and it is believed that this stage will take at least twice as long to complete.

Project Mjolnir Design Update
The prototype generator (see projectfiles:Mjolnir/restricted/powergen/loki) performed better than we could have hoped. Engineers are already working on the hull designs, and the very earliest projections say the ship should be roughly 500 meters long, at most 50 meters longer than the current generation of ships. There are some issues with the designs for the integrated fast-release Horizon system, but these should be hammered out fairly soon.
The project's really heating up, we should have a working ship on schedule.

Project Mjolnir X-305 Construction Update
The X-305 is currently at 50% completion. Some areas of the ship are airtight and minimally powered, but we're still a way off from having a functional ship. The engines are currently being fitted, which should take some time. Expect a shakedown cruise in a year or two.

UNGC Military Commerce Council Message to the government of FreeAngola
At this time the X-305 'Mjolnir' is not a spaceworthy vessel, or indeed completely proven functional. However, when the class has been put into service and deemed fit for sale, we will contact your government. Thank you for your interest in this project. We hope that you will treat this, and any such message from the United Nations Giza Council with the strictest of confidence.

And are you planning on doing longer versions like 700 meters?

Why are you bothering with a research thread? Just post the stats of the ship in your tech thread (or whatever you use) and have done with it, then use it in an RP where enough time has passed IC since the development began that it would be reasonable that you have one. There's no rule or need to have a thread such as this.
And are you planning on doing longer versions like 700 meters?
You would be able to use them agianst anybody who you RP with.

Oh you are mad at me?I buy whatever i like and if he indeed were to produce a 700 meter long version i would buy it from him

And how would you pay for said Item? This is for Future Tech, not Modern Tech.

The prices are not up yet,so how do you know how much it costs?

If it's Future Tech it will cost alot more then any aircraft carrier or battleship.

More than $500,000,000,000?Look i don´t want to constantly have to be "battling"with you in here so leave me alone

There's Modern Tech Super Dreadnaughts tha cost 320 Billion. So Yea possibly more then 500 Billion.

Ok?
Not only that, FreeAngola, but MT nations don't buy ships from FT. Unless its part of a plot, FT nations do not interact with MT ones. Because, if you had these ships, the nations who have waited patiently, made their nations to what they are and have their large militaries would be upset by two big spaceships. They could defeat them possibly but not before they wasted the planet or the nations pretty much.
So, basically, FT does not go with MT. If you do buy these, expect to be ignored, or at least the ships. And that would be if you could, which your budget can't handle even MT stuff right now.

Did the OP even offer to sell his ships? All I can see is that he is trying to design them, and as of his last post they were not quite spaceworthy yet. Free Angola, if you desire to have a FT nation seperate from your MT, then it would be very appropriate for you to aquire two of these ships. However everyone is right in the fact that these ships will be ignored in MT, and you yourself could possibly be ignored.
If you do desire to RP in FT though, let me be the first to say welcome, and I look forward to Rping with you.
To the OP: I actually enjoy reading your progress reports. Although it is not neccessary, I do enjoy reading this post.
Well said, OG, exactly my sentiments.
As he said, Project Giza, this project interests me, as I have seen few Stargate nations here, aside from a thread which was made for it. If you wish to initiate contact or need someone for rp, I am always willing to help out.

I would also enjoy rping some contact, and perhaps after negoations, a arrangement to aid in your research, in exchange for technological specs and designs.

[Gents, please try not to clutter my thread. It was all clean and shiny and new, now it's all fucked up.
As for contact, I'm up for rps with anyone. TG me or something and we'll sort something out.

To be honest, I don't care. It means that I'm not pulling stuff out of my ass to suit individual threads like a lot of people do in FT.]

Sorry about that. I would Glady like to Rp with you, I have a puppet that is smaller than this nation to make things more fair. It is a covenant based nation.

Project Mjolnir Production Update
The first X-305 'Mjolnir' is as of now ready for launch. We recomend light duties within the solar system for the time being to performance can be monitored. Once we have identified the strengths and weaknesses of the ship, we will go to stage 2 design and try and improve on it.
As for the question of overseas sales, the current prototype form may be suitable for sale, but it more than likely won't be as good as the final design.
