Inside the Underground Deurem War Room (UDWAR)

Major General Alfonso Marik stood behind a map of the county of Côte d'Ivoire. General Marik was around his early 50's and once a veteran of war. He had fought in the third Deurem civil war when he was young and such gained much experience and earned the trust of many. Today was his shinging moment as he would command the Duerem Nation Army into victory.

Around him sat Emperor Deurem the XII and Prime minister Charles Mangoline and the rest of the cabinet. The room that were in was situated in an undisclosed underground bunker. No one knew of this meeting except for those inside and the Deurem armed forces. As the people inside chatted to one another before General Alfonso proposed his plan of attack many asked to one another how would this cause them to look in the world.

"Attention." said the old man as he then with a laser pointer pointed at the country which they were to invade. "As you must know recent events have propelled our proposed invasion of of Côte d'Ivoire. This is not neccesarly a bad thing as we had proposed to invade it after or remilitarization plan was completed but current events has cuased the need for an invasion. We have them surrounded from two sides and a third if we play our cards right. The recently aquired attack helicopters will play an important role in our strategy." he said before taking a deep breath.

"We will invade from the west and east. Currently our artillery is position neared the border and will cripple any resistence near and around the area. From there we will push from both fronts in till they reach each other. The plans are being finalized as we speak but what I've said is a general overview of what we will do." with that the General sat down.

IC:

Deurem National Army forces on both the east and west border of Côte d'Ivoire were begining to amass. They had offically declared war on Côte d'Ivoire and a day ago and had rapidly moved there forces accordingly. Rocket artillery was being set up for the invasion of their neighbors.

SIC: A small Platoon of Deurem Imperial Gaurds had been able to enter the nation of Côte d'Ivoire. These men were the best of the best and as such had been sent in before anyone else. For now they where just Côte d'Ivoire civilians in till there time came.

(OCC: I already declared war on the IC thread if anyone wants to check that out. I will update Factbook to show the "Air Force" which will be used later on.
PS. By airforce I mean a couple of 70' planes that are still good.))

Official Statement of the North American Republic

For the time being, the North American Republic watches the events unfold in Western Africa with an open hand to do as they may. However, Africa is getting fairly dicey between both major alliance blocs of the world...and it would be a shame for the Ivory Coast to be able to acquire American weapon systems capable of repulsing the soldiers of the Empire of Deurem.

Official Dominion Statement

We will watch your operations in the Ivory Coast, for now. But don't think that you can do as you please. Much like the NAR, we would hate for Dominion Weaponry, weaponry that is quite advanced, end up in the Ivory Coast hands. You are walking on very hallow ground, and even the faintest idea of Genocide or something along those lines.... well. Let's just say you'd better not do anything wrong.

Sincerely

Official Statement by the Western European Federation

To be blunt, the WEF is fed up of Africa being a war ground. We are the main power opposed to all this expansion, but, as reasons have been given that seem just, and both the South Africans and Northern Africans have expanded without much query from us, we will overlook this invasion. I sincerely hope other African nations do so as well, considering they surely wouldn't want to be hypocrites. We echo the statements of other nations when we say that no genocide can be committed, though we trust our fellow TA member not to commit some horrific crimes.

Official Statement of the Mongolian Republic

The Republic is saddened that the Empire of Deurem has rushed to choose war over diplomacy. It is merely one sad example of the expansionist tendencies that have overtaken so many other nations today, and is to be lamented. Unfortunately, there is little that we can do.

As others have already stated, the Empire of Deurem is walking on very thin ice. Do bear that in mind.

(Candistan said he would but if he doesn't then some one else should)

Private Koendo Marcus had been one of the many conscripts who had been lucy enough to be choosen for the intial attack. Koendo surely didn't feel so lucky as he constantly prayed for a quick and painless death. As he gripped his weapon he looked at the time. Just a few hours before the attack would begin. Oh how he wished he hadn't been picked.

On the other sides of things Lt. Marqi Tolendo felt that his time of glory would be today. The leader of Platoon Romeo 9 he was also going to be in the first attack. Surely this attack would rise him through the ranks and into the history books he thought. But as the time for the attack came closer he began to feel the tension everyone felt.

SIC to GGA: Give us the locations to there artillery and air defenses if you may. Our tank force can not be used for long durations for we do not wish to lose many of them.

Offical Deurem Statement:

We only wish to bring those who have caused the deaths of our Deurem people to pay. No harm to the rest of the population will happen.

The hours passed by slowly. Everyone knew it was coming but yet no one wanted to expect it. As the hours passed the anticipation grew and grew in till it was ready to burst and then it happened. The time set for the invasion was now.

"Fire the rockets!" order Colonel. Adaku Montegu from his post ontop of an apartment building a couple of miles away from the Ivory Coast. As he put his radio down he picked up a pair of boncoulars and looked at the enemy's land. In a matter of seconds the dark sky light up with a mass of rockets launching. "How I love fireworks." he said with a smile on his face as the rockets hit the neighboring nation.

The rockets hit their targets which was anything that even seemed to be an obsticle for them. Their neighboring nation had evacuated the civilians which was why the Deurem Empire had waited so long to attack. As the smoke cleared the infantry and armor crossed over the Western and Eastern borders.

Lt. Tolendo had been waiting all his life for this. "Move!" he ordered his platoon as they made their way over the border. As he and his men stepped over into the Ivory Coast everything was quiet. The border towns had been evacuated and filled with the Ivory Coast army. Tehy were nowhere in sight for now.

Private Marcus looked around at the surrealness of the scene. Fires raged at where once people used to live. Streets were empty except for the occasional tank barracade. "It's not that bad." he thought as he and others like him crossed.

(I need someone to rp the Ivory Coast)

Jajaro Nkwembe sat in the basement of his apartment gambling with some fellow militiamen. He had lost his first three hands and was down five bloods so far, but he thought he had it now.

"Straight Flush." said a militiaman.

"Eh?" said jajaro. "Four aces, my friend. Pay up."

"Damnit!" said the militiaman handing over seven bloods. "You always make those..." he was cut off by a major blast on the floors above.

Thinking quickly, the militiamen grabbed the AKM's and rushed upstairs. Militia were everywhere, grbbing weapons and assisting their wounded comrades.

"What happened?" asked Jajaro.

"Deurem! They are attacking!" yelled a militiaman from across the room.

"Well get out their and fight then!" yelled Jajaro. The militiamen rushed out of the building and made their way to the bombarded streets. Some boarded Mazda and Zhig pickup-truck-turned technicals and drove off to the bombardment. The militiamen were furious and ready to defend their homeland from the Deuremese army.

"Where's everyone?" said Private Marcus as he clenched his Ak-74M thightly. Then his fireteam heard something. As they stopped they heard movement and yelling. Then the engines of what he assumed where Techincals. Quickly he and the rest of his fireteam got behind an wrecked car. Ducking behind it they like the rest of their Platoon awaited orders from the higher up.

"Lonc ready that RPG!" Lt. Tolendo ordered as he stood behind a fallen billboard. This was bad. The armor hadn't yet reached where they were due to the tank barracades so they were all alone. At least they had training and that count's for a lot right?
Candistan

"Move in!" shouted Jajaro on the back of his technical. The gunner loaded a shell into the 75mm cannon mounted on the back and readied it to fire. Oher technicals readied their .50cal guns and began to fire upon the Deuremese troops. Militiamen swarmed onto the scene and began firing sporadically with their AKM's and RPD's.
Deurem
15-05-2007, 01:15
"God damnit where are the tanks!" yelled the Lt. as he then fired his Galil ARM at the militamen. Meanwhile the man called Lonc readied his M72 LAW and aimed it at one of the techincals. "Fire!" yelled Tolendo as then Lonc fired it.

Meanwhile the Deurem troops dove for cover while some fired back. Those who did fire back were cut down by the .50 cals as there body armor couldn't stop the caliber. Those still alive limped there way towards cover if they could.

Private Marcus yelled a warrior's cry as he fired his Ak-74 from behind a bench. After a couple of shots he ran towards a better place for cover which happened to be behind a crushed truck. As he breathed heavily he took off the heavy burden that weighed most Deurem men down.

(Would it be over kill if I brought in some helicopters?)

OOC: Go ahead...but remember, intent men with RPG's can do a lot to helicopters, even the elite pilots like America (BHD)

IC: A technical exploded in a shower of sparks and flame as it was struck by the LAW. Men scattered off of it and into the nearby buildings.

Meanwhile, Jean-Pierre Kazim, a milita Colonel, led his crew of soldiers up into several highrise apartments. They were the best in the militia, expert marksmen with their Dragunov SVD sniper rifles and G3 Battle Rifles.

"Pick 'em off." said the Colonel to his men.

One by one, the snipers began popping off their rifles from above at the unsuspecting Deuremese soldiers. RPG troopers began rushing down to the fight inside buildings and alleys to remain concealed while the men on the frontline hammered away with their AKM's and RPD's.
Deurem
15-05-2007, 01:42
"Hunker down!" yeleld the LT. as a third of his platoon was killed in a matter of seconds. With the sniper fire from above the fight would be harder. The remaining men were backed up by more Deurem soldiers who were spilling into the Ivory Coast. They began to concetrate there fire on the those who were on the ground.

"Thank God.." said Marcus as the sound of roaring T-55 tanks made it to the pinned down troops. With that Marcus loaded his GP-30 grenade launcher and fired it into one of the nearby buildings where he though some men where in. With that he made his way to another destroyed car but as he moved he was struck in the shoulder.

The first tank that came into view moved its turret towards one of the technicals and fired. Its crew inside were ready to face the many mem who endangered the lives of there fellow Deurem comrades.

Meanwhile the Deurem army having met more resistence that believed to have exsisted made a call for there Air Wing. There old Huey's would finally see some action.

(My tanks are crappy so I am going to lose some. :( )
Candistan
15-05-2007, 02:04
More technicals were destroyed, but not before Jajaro emptied the last round of the 75mm cannon into one of the incoming tanks. He hopped off the technical and scurried to a nearby building where he met up with an RPG team.

"Hit that tank!" he yelled to them pointing at the one he had nailed with the 75mm.

"Yes, sir!" shouted the soldier as he primed the RPG-7 and blew it out acorss the street at the tanks.

The snipers kept on going while more militiamen and RPG troopers marched into the kill zone.
Deurem
15-05-2007, 02:15
"Go go!" yelled someone inside the tank as the men rushed to escape. As fired spewed out from the machine the RPG's hit. As one of the men barely got out the tank was hit and his body went flying across the street. The other tanks(which were only three at the moment since the street they were in was small) began to fire there mounted machineguns at the militamen and remaining technicals while aiming and them firing at the nearby buildings trying to destroy any cover the enemy had.

Meanwhile the UH-1 Iroquois's more famously knowned as the Huey made there way towards the border. Armed with rocket pods and machineguns and filled with more Deurem troops they were a force to be recokoned with.

"It hurts..." mumured Marcus as he crawled his way over to a nearby dumpster from the destroyed car he used to be at. The pain was immense and he needed treatment fast. "Medic!" he yelled as his vision become blurry.
Candistan
15-05-2007, 02:20
"Mortars!" yelled a militiaman. "Fire the Mortars!"

A large group of people loaded up some 83mm mortars from the roof of an apartment complex and fired at the tight street. The militiamen inside the buildings were taking the brunt of the casualties from the tanks as they fired on the buildings. Militiamen began to drop molotov cocktails on the tanks from above the street in a tactic learned from the ongoing civil war there.

The Militia base was totally empty now with all of the fighting men on the front holding off the assault.

(Sorry if my rping skills look bad but this is my first time actually having a war.)

"Get behind some Cover!" yelled Lt. Tolendo as a mortar hit a few inches from him. Luckly he only recieved shrapnel to his back and saw one of his men lying dead near him.

The tanks which were older than anything else being deployed in the battle were had no chance against the attack. As tank crews began to flee thre tanks the Deurem troops that had grenade launchers began to fire them into the buildings while those who didn't continued to fire a volley of bullets at the militamen.

"Smokey to Charlie 8 we've reach point. I repeat Charlie we've reach the battle." spoke the pilot of a Huey as he and the others came into view of the battlefield. They as soon as they could make out a building fired at its roof. As the rocket pods of the helicopter's began to empty they moved closer and closer to the buildings and began to strafe them. There men inside iring there machine guns at anything that moved inside the buildings. A rather dangerous move but they couldn't risk losing more of their infantry.

The battle plan had been a failure even before it ended. The Deurem people would not approve of there men dying to mear militas with old soviet weapons. The use of their jets would have to come into play at the dismay of the Deurem Armed Forces.

OOC: Don't worry, you're doing fine :)

IC: "Helicopters!" yelled a man as he hit the deck. A number of militiamen were killed by the initial assault from the Hueys, but they soon regained their ground. A few of the RPG troopers fired at the Hueys while a technical with a duel-mounted 7.62mm RPK fired up at the sky. Numerous other soldiers fired into the air with the AK-47's and G3's in an attempt to down a Heuy in their name.

15-05-2007, 02:51
"Grey Grizzly to Smokey. I'm hit. Damage to rotors I'm going down." said the pilot of a Huey that had been struck by RPK fire. The men still fired there weapons at the enemy even as they began to descend. The helicopter's pilot piloted the wounded aircraft as best as he could into a nearby path of dirt that he had seen. The helicopter hit the dirt had and at an angle as it crashed.

Meanwhile the remaining helicopters continued there assualt on the milita. As helicopter after helicopter went through the sky above the battlefield they emptied there rockets into the buildings as there men inside who manned the machineguns fired at there enemies before the helicopters they were in hightailed it out of there. They already lost one helicopter and wouldn't afford losing another one.

( :sniper: grr..)
Candistan
15-05-2007, 03:16
The Rocket Pods had devestating effect on the militiamen, causing whole buildings to collapse making them retreat back a few blocks. Technicals and troopers alike blasted away at the helicopters above while the ground troops attempted to maintain the advantage by pinning down the ground forces. They were running low on fresh troops and the militia commanders began to grow worried.
Deurem
16-05-2007, 01:22
Orders came in from top brass. With the attack that the helicopters had given the Deurem troops were ordered to rush into the remaining buildings and clear them out of enemy resistence. This for one would give cover to the troops and secondly make the combat easier for the pinned troops.

Lt. Tolendo with his Galil ARM in hand made his way into a nearby apartment building with the reast of platoon Romeo 9. Once inside they sent a fireteam up the stairs. As the fireteam slowly made there way up they heard movemnt above.
Candistan
16-05-2007, 01:28
Jajaro fired his AKS-74U outside the window at the Deuremese when he heard a noise. "Enemy soldiers!" he yelled. "Gun 'em down!"

The soldiers pointed their guns down the stairs and fired away.

"Kiss my ass you rotten mother f#$!ers!" he yelled as he dropped a frag down the stairs and slammed the door shut.
Deurem
16-05-2007, 02:15
The fireteam fired back at the militamen as then then noticed a man had thrown a grenade at them. "Run!" yelled one of the men as he then shot open a door and jumped inside. Everyone else ran for cover as the grenade exploded. After that did they notice that the last man to have gotten in the room was bleeding from his back. "Medic!" yelled one of the men as he moved the wounded man over to a table.

"Smoke them out" yelled LT. Tolendo to the grenadier who then put in a smoke grenade into his weapon and upwards in an angle so that is would fall on the stairs. "Again!" he ordered as he and those around him put on there service gas masks while running moving out of the stairwell and view of the enemy. "Damn milita are good." he thought.

( I am asuming that the buildings we are in are a couple of stories high.)
Candistan
16-05-2007, 02:45
"Shit!" coughed Jajaro. "Smoke!"

The other militiamen, thinking quickly, filled up an empty beer bottle with some lamp oil and lit it up.

"Deuremese Bastards!" the man yelled as he hurled the bottle downwards at the bottom of the stairs. It shattered and spread flame across the floor.

"Aigh!" yelled another Militiaman as he was hit by a bullet in the throat and tumbled over the railing. He fell close to sixty feet before he landed with a sickening snap of his neck in the fire below.

"We have to move!" said a militiaman.

"No shit!" replied Jajaro as he gathered his stuff. He threw his SVD on his back and climbed up another small flight of stairs to the roof.

Once on the roof, Jajaro and the other five men began to move over to another building.

"We need to jump the gap!" yelled Jajaro over the gunfire. He broke into a sprint and leaped over the gap, rolling onto the other side. The other men followed suit. The third man to jump wasn't as lucky as the others before him. As he began to run, a Deuremese soldier must have spotted him. As he was about to jump, he was struck in the knees with a burst of gunfire, causing him to slip and roll off the roof and fall 70 feet to the street below, landing on the roof of a small car. The other two who hadn't jumped were subsequently cut down by gunfire.

Jajaro and the other two survivors, hiding behind an A/C unit, began to look over their options. They weren't very well in their favor.

17-05-2007, 01:46
"Fire!" yelled Lt. Tolendo as his pants caught on fire. Quickly he ran outside, dropped his rilfe and began to roll. Another man saw this and began to kick dirt onto his suprior trying to stop the fire. The flames were soon gone and Lt. Tolendo stood up. He had 1st degree burns and was now covered in dirt and felt like crap but he was good atleast for now.

Two other men had gotten hit by the flames and also luckly made it out though one had cut his leg as he fell ontop of broken glass. As blood dripped from his pants he looked at the Lt and smiled. "Never expect this was jow I would spill my blood." he said before shoots made them move.

Meanwhile in other buildings similar things began to happen as Deurem forces ran out the door as either smoke cuased from burning furniture was dropped onto the first floor or explosives rocked the building.

"Get me Air Support. We need these buildings down." yelled Lt. Tolendo as he and his Platoon made it over to a back alley away from the action where many injured men layed being attended by medics. He then called in for help.

"The artillery cleared out the half of the buildings but those still left give the enemy cover. We need to blow the crap out of them." he then stopped as he then ducked as a technical passed by at high speeds. "Bring in the attack helos or anything with rocket pods." with that the message was sent.

SIC: UDWAR

General Marik was once again in the spotlight as the latest information began to come in. "It seems that our Western Front is having more trouble than the East. We recently lost one of our helicopters. Reports are that out of the 6 inside the pilot and co pilot were killed while the passengers were injured. They were able to escape the crash site before enemy forces found them." with that the General left for his chair and sat down.

"Can we still use our jets on them?" asked the Prime Minister as he tapped his pen on the table. He had been one of the supporters for war but as he heard about the reports he began to worry.

"Well it's not reccomended, but rest assured after our initial strike we will began a bombing campaign. We do have the recently bought Cobras but we don't have enough properly trained personnel to use them."

"Well find whoever can press the button to fire a rocket and send them." said the Prime Minister Bluntly as he turned to look at a wall full of television monitors with all national and foreign news stations.
