OOC:

No noobish posts, please. Try to make all posts at least one paragraph. Kampfers is equipped with OBSAT and that is how information moves so fast. Allies may request to use it. The Kampfers Excalibur System, like all such systems, is geared towards attacks from other nations and is nearly wothless against uprisings from within. It may come into use later.

IC:

The nation of Kampfers was in turmoil. After years of thriving under the fascist policies of Fuhrer Richtoff, a recent outburst of government spending on the Kampferian Armed Forces sparked a response from the fringe-groups in Kampfers. These fringe groups have called for an end to the fascist dictatorship, and wish for a communist regime to rise up instead. Now these fringe groups have posted an international call for aid.

People of the world, here my cry. For too long has this fascist regime oppressed the residents of Kampfers. Now, the leader of this nation has decided to forgoe his own peoples education to ensure that Kampfers can spend enough money to become a military might. We ask for a united asistance from other nations to help throw of this oppressive yoke.

The government responded with amazing speed and clarity. They quickly aired a reponse on all the Kampferian television stations.

Citizens of Kampfers, the World, I urge you to ignore these madmen's cry. For many years, as continues today, the Kampferian government has guided Kampfers and always done what was best for its citizens. Now a communist group wishes to overthrow us. I ask you, nations of the world, please aid us in our cause to bring these rebels to justice.

Immediately, the Kampferian Military began to mobilize. They did not know who they were fighting, or where that fight would be, but they were prepared for it nonetheless.

Meanwhile, in the town of Kleinetisch, the communist threat was organizing. Joseph Reagan, a well known protester, was coordinating the arming of the rebels. This was the first arming, as the arming of many similar towns in Kampfers would follow. The main weapons of the rebels were AK-74's. As time progressed, they hoped that international aid and Kampferian defections would add to this meager arsenal. The rebels moved quickly throughout the city, arming defecting residents and moving towards the police station. Finally, they reached the station. A call was sent in to surrender or die. The police, upon refusing, were immediately massacred by the automatic weapons fire.

Minutes later, word reached the Kampferian Army of this atrocity. A division of troops would begin to move at once. On the way, their covoy would move through another small town, Likesand. At this very moment, more rebels were running around there, constructing roadblocks, barricades, and arming the populace. An ambush was in place, and the soldiers were headed straight to it. Everything was moving as planned by the communists.

-Republican Palace, Lucianus, Granate-

King Andrei was enjoying his mid-afternoon tea with his Daughter, Princess Esmeralda. They were talking about this and that, mostly boys and schoolwork. Esmeralda was a good student, but by no means was she a bookworm. She kept her grades up around a A- and lead a reletively active social life with the other students of the Royal Granatian Academy.

They were in the middle of a rather entertaining story of how Esmeralda nearly bombed her last school test, when an Aide came up to the King. He looked up at the old man who had been his trusted aide for nearly 5 years.

"What is it Ivan?" the King asked. The Aide's face turned grim and his shuffled his feet for a moment as if composing himself.

"I'd rather think this would be best for the Princess not to hear." He said. The King knew it wasn't good, or atleast it wasn't seriously bad. Because the Aide would of told him anyway if it was very urgent. The King sent Esmeralda away to finish her homework and promised to finish the conversation later tonight.

"You'd best follow me, Sire." The Aide said as soon Esmeralda was gone. The King followed the Aide into his study room where there was a very large map of country, whose name he couldn't place.

"This, sire, is a map of the Nation Kampfers. Their government is a Facist Totalitarian Regime. Recently, rebel elements from within their nation have begun to fight back agains the regime and it's oppressive ways. Numerous Groups have beseeched the nations of the World to help them Overthrow the Facist Regime. The Government of Kampfers has also issued a statement asking for support in ending this Rebel Threat." The Aide said. The King sat down on his over-stuffed chair and contemplated what his most-trusted Aide had just said.

"Well, we can't just throw our hand in with the Rebels, that would enact the wrath, although limited, of the Kampferian nation. I don't want Granatians to die doing some mission to help rebels. But we can send them money and supplies discreetly to help them, as well as providing them with tactical info on the Kampferian Military." he said. The aide jotted it all down in a notebook.

"I will alert the proper members of the Parliament and the Military." he said as he walked off to get the job done. The King quickly scribbled a note to the Rebels forces, hoping it wouldn't get intercepted by the Kampferian Government.

Dear Kampferian Rebel Leaders

We, the great nation of Granate, have heard your plea and are most troubled by it. We although can not support you with our Military, because of current policies of not getting involved in foreign conflicts involving Rebel Groups. We can, however, supply you with money and supplies. Guns, Ammo, and maybe the odd vehicle or two will be given to when we can to assist you.

Sincerely
Andrei Kleinheart

The Mahrian Communist Party was a significant minority in parliament, one needed by the reigning Liberals to maintain their governing coalition. As such, they had a sway much greater then their size would suggest.

The leader of the Liberals, John Tavek, stared across the table at the Communist delegation. It had been a long four hours of negociation.

"Ladies, gentlemen," he almost sighed, "I'll repeat myself. Without your votes for this budget, we'll be going to an election within the week. I've said that I can't meaningfully alter this budget without breaking election promises, so is there anything-anything-else we can offer to get your support?"

Sara O'Connor, the Communist leader, looked around at her delegation meaningfully. "Mr. Tavek," she asked calmly, "Could we have a moment alone to confer?"

When the Liberals had left the room, she looked at her group and said simply. "So, do we go to our backup option?" It had been agreed upon, quietly, by the Party behind closed doors. They had hoped for changes to the budget, but had crafted a plan B.

Ms. O'Connor stood, opened the door and called, "Gentlemen? We have an offer for you."

Taveks sigh of relief was audible, "Wonderful. What can we do for you, then?"

O'Connor started out, "Are you familiar with the country Kampfers?"

And that was how a Mahrian ship-flying a Kampferian flag-set out for Kampfers several days later. On board were eighty thousand US dollars in cash, explosives, arms, ammunition, and (perhaps most valuable) six specialists from Mahrian Intell. They were part of what was called internally "the Mayhem Division." The Communists would have excellent advisors to explain what to do with the shiny new toys being offered.
