[5th Heavy Mobile Artillery Battery, Paramount Islands, Eastern Haven]
The Paramount Islands were a series of six islands controlled by The Silver Sky, orginally herald as a tourist destination, vast, unused tracts of land were taken by the military to develop into perhaps one of the strongest defensive barriers man has ever seen, it was however, part of a much larger system, one spanning the entirety of Haven, but for today, we'll stay small.
The peace of the Paramount Islands would be shattered today.
Klaxons blared as red warnings lights flashed within the confines of the defensive corridors, which stretched for hundreds miles all over the island. Crews spilled out from their underground barracks and bases and ran to defensive positions, armored brigades drove down the tunnels towards their predetermined defensive positons, while artillery batteries waited at the exits for the signal to leave and commence fire on the enemy.
Hidden SAM and SSM emplacements, some VLS, some mobile units, waited for enemy ships and aircraft to get into range, while Khan sites began to go over firing procedures.
Colonel Joe McArthur sprinted towards his post, a heavy coastal artillery battery control station, he controlled six triple 84.5cm 75 caliber Coastal Artillery Turrets, there were four other batteries on the island, together forming the Second Heavy Mobile Artillery Brigade.
"What's the sitrep?" Asked Colonel McArthur as he bounded up the short stairs to the command room. "Air and Naval Force with declared hostile intent being tracked on radar at 1000km out, Khan Batteries are preparing to engage as we speak, we have orders to engage landing ships and capital ships when they approach SHEER range, orders are to hold them untill the 8th Naval Fleet gets into range." Said one of the comm officers.
"Good, let them come and get it." He said as he turned towards the comms.
[On the Surface]
Hundreds of fighters and fighter bombers poured into the sky, while bombers began to taxi down the runways. Two Air Force Divisions worth of planes were stationed in the islands, nearly 5000 that is. They would form the striking arm of the Skyian Military until the fleet was in range.
Also, there was the Khans, well, there were khans, all 1,200 of them, 200 per island, were flying down range towards the enemy for a time on target barrage.
