At around 5:07 this day Nikolai Pavlovic attempted to defect to Poland in his MiG-29. Nikolai Pavlovic was shot down by Grigori Rdlovsky with a R-77 AAM fired from his MiG-29. Pavlovic's MiG-29 was downed in the first hit. To prevent Pavlovic from ejecting Rdlovsky fired 25 30mm rounds into Pavlovic's cockpit. The wreckage was later retrieved close to the Polish border (Photo (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/4/4f/20060705033449!Bosnia_mig29.jpg)).
