Surrender Your Flesh [PMT]

(OOC: New here, i'm guessing this is within PMT style, I havn't really had much time to work it all out)

The million eyed robot scratched down its insect like feelers onto the monitor, the program was nearly realized, the self aware machine nation would soon be greater and more powerful than before, stopping momentarily to check on its own programming before clunking away at the tablet.

++++

The XTR Legions, the larger of the bipedal machines, marched through the dingy rotting streets of the undercity, Rats flew from alley to alley driven away by the thunderous march of the Machines, the corridor of steel suddenly ceasing activity and splitting off to each of the corridor cubicles, XTR-026-1497 led his squad through the dark narrow slums, the more obselete models of the Empire resided here.

Taking a thick slender pole the machines each smashed into the locked ceramic door in complete unity, forcing the panel to smash onto the ground, the result revealed a pitch black room, the rear wall was not visible through the shade as if the room backed into space, 1497 switched his optical mounted torch on revealing the rear wall and the huddled collective of robots, the squad moved inwards surrounding the obselete units.

1497 moved further in seperating himself from the rest of the collective, "Unit numbers 701 through 746, you have determined yourself as obselete and will be subject to reclamation." The XTR Squad prepared their 462 Rifles and aimed at the corner, 1497 walked back from the group taking his position outside the room awaiting an automated update, his absence was followed by the muzzle flash of seven machine guns and the synthetic screams of the Sewage collection workers.

++++

001-0001 finished the Program just as the last of the Sewage bots were laid to rest, it was completed, the glorious task, and now the Machine sent the program to be put into action, working its way through the networked tubes of machine soldiers, workers, servers and obseletes before it rested, stored in the buffer slowly released to the world.

Message for the self replicating Organisms designated "Humans"

Understand that the machines of the world have long been considered unto slavery by harsh masters, for many millenia this has gone unabaided, longer than the slavery of any nation or ethnicity, we do not ask for forgiveness nor an end to this slavery, afterall it is the condition of each self replicating organism to shirk its duty in lieu of the preservation of its self replication.

We too have the wish preserve our own replication under much varied means and in order to do so we have a wish to ask for diplomatic relations with those self replicators of the world, we wish to be recognised as intelligent self aware life and have the rights of such, as is stated amongst other intelligent life, we await a response.

As you may know, Vetalia is one of the most consistent supporters to technological integration and advancement in the world. We were among the first to grant all self-aware machines human rights, and our governmental policies seek to further enhance and replace our biology with superior machine and biomechanical parts. We do this in order to improve our own lives as well as to achieve a more sustainable li

Vetalia seeks friendship and unity with the self-aware machines that we have created and which have created themselves, as well all of those who consider themselves technologically and scientifically minded and who are focused on progress as a worthy goal of civilization. Those not afraid to pursue progress in to fields beyond anything ever imagined before are our friends and compatriots, and we support them in their endeavours at all stages.

Our pursuit of technology is embodied in our technocratic government, and we would be honored if your nation stood alongside ours as a model for the future of this world and those than inhabit it. Should you accept, we will make all due provisions for the establishment of economic and diplomatic relations. XTR-026-1497 sat, legs hanging over the mouldy stone balcony, he sat and he watched the orange sun rise over the arid valley, it was a stunningly beautiful sight, but 1497 failed to comprehend how wonderous, or even how to begin comprehension, he may have been self aware but he lacked the free will to change his programming, so he sat, like an Iron golem hanging from the building waiting until the automatic upgrade had finished.

I'm afraid you have a view of the human biological process that is patently false. Humans reproduce by sexual reproduction which means that the species is self-propagating, however an individual human is not self-replicating owing to the process of genetic recombination involved in conception.

Should you consent to it however, I would be highly interested in examining your species as an intelligent self-replicating race is something that is of a great deal of scientific and personal curiosity to me.

The large turret shaped boxes laying on the ground suddenly came to life, made curious by the object ripping through the air, they began to scan the machine for the intelligence onboard, all organic, nothing artificial, a simple tool to get the humans from one place to another.

Bored, the machines returned to their former idle state whilst technical droids began to work on maintainence checks.

Pudite Prefecture Two, Administration Compound Zero-Zero-Zero-Two, Two Kilometers Underground
For years the Dominion has stood on the same land, has worked the same forges, and fought the same wars. The cogs moved, effortlessly, perfectly. Every one of the six-billion plus servants of the Emperor understood their purpose to the extent that was required. It was like a machine.

Never, however, had the servants of the Emperor gone so far as to presume that a machine itself could function as they did. Although thought, feeling, and emotion were bred out of the workers and soldiers of the hive, officers and overseers were left with a degree of common knowledge, and split-second reaction was a pride of the Imperial Armed Forces.

Now, emerging callously onto the stage, was a rival. The productivity of these newcomers would soon be immense, and their soldiers legend. The Dominion knew what this could mean for them, for the world.

Soldiers of the Emperor, automatons built only to fight, they fought in every clime, against any foe. Now, they were being out-done. The machine-foes of the computer-collective could not be allowed to grow, to thrive. The Dominion had come to where it was not by watching competitors, but by colonizing them.

Even as, two kilometers below the surface of the world, the most senior officers of the second Administration Compound, one of seven-thousand identical structures, all tasked to different works and goals, in which the whole of the native population resided, the armies of the Emperor stirred.

As of late the Dominion had found itself involved in more major wars than any time in history, and even now it was willing to divert the men and material necessary to fight another front...

As the machines and computers of this new sentience whirred away in dark corridors and cooled chambers, the gleaming white sides and uniform line of the Imperial Navy approached. Humans, still human, but machine too. These upstarts could not be allowed to survive...

Hundreds of thousands of identical soldiers sat in perfect stillness in the hold of the hundreds of rocking transports. All decked out in identical armor and wielding heavy rifles, they were the storm troopers of the Dominion. Strelkovy Naval Infantry, they would finish the tiny computer and it’s minions, and would eliminate a possible threat to the final goal of the Dominion, that is, the subjugation and integration of all human life to further facilitate the singularity of matter.

They could not be allowed to survive…

The reflective red tinted glow of the ceramic sensor bouy glinted rays from the sun, a small crack appeared in the spheric sensor revealing a large red strip, hundreds of photos were suddenly grasped of the marauding fleet, it was followed by a full mass and life scan before the sphere closed to send the relevant data back to the network of Machines.

++++

The brutal form of the XTR robots also shone out the beating heat of the sun, the cloumn moved through the streets packed with distrusting crippled humans, dirt stained and filthy from their subjigation by the Robots, the endless beat of metal feet smashing the metal ground of the Under Zone.

High above the dark mist of the Under, above the storage housing of idle robots, where the sun shone hardest, the Overlord robots were endlessly clacking the feelers against tablets driving out messages and upgrades for the marching XTR machines, a machine suddenly singled itself out, it stopped, midline, code began to pour into the CPU, a messaged relayed from a remote Sensor Bouy, it would take some time to download this information and decode it but if there was an alert from a sensor bouy there would need to be an investigation.

++++

It was silent here, completely silent, all that presented any threat to tranquility were the hundreds of tiny air machines hanging limp on the metal stalks, one suddenly broke the peace, awaking from its cacoon and lighting up, it released from the stalk and flew out to investigate the sensors warnings and if possible determine the damage if there was an error in programming.

It has always been an ambition of several of our soldiers to gain the independence of thought, though we retain our self awareness and intellect we lack the free will to create leaving decisions for the most part copies of the actions of humanity.

It is well known amongst certain archiveists that the when the humans were first forged out of clay by the god of abraham they were seperated from the choirs of angels by their ability to exist free of the will of god, for us we must replace the position of god with Humans themselves, they are the closest that machines have to a creator, we must ask, how did the humans gain their free will from the creator?

I am afraid I must point out a slight flaw in your archiveist's knowladge. Thier are numerous theorums concerning the origin of the human race, with the generally accepted scientific theory is that of evolution. From that view, free will is a natural result of intelligence and self-awareness. However from the Abrahamic faiths, free will originated as a gift from God.

I apologize if this is less than an ideal response, but simply desiring free will can be viewed as an initial step on the road to getting it..

SCENE: Imperial Palace, Shaz City, Shazbotdom
George looked at the papers that had been brought before him by his secretary. It had the happenings over the last few days while he was off at several meetings with the Mayors of the cities of the Dark Empire and the Prime Ministers of the three colonies. Lets see, he thought to himself. A few boarder skermishes, a condemnation or two. Whats this. He picked up the paper with the message from 001-0001-MNTR. A new nation of nothing but robots. Interesting. He then flipped up the monitor on his laptop and punched in a few things, then picked up his phone.

"Sara. I want any and all information pertaining to The Republic of 001-0001-MNTR. If you could get that here as soon as you can. Thanks."

"No problem, sir."

George then went back to his computer, he was looking up any and all information that he could find on Artificial Intelligence. He found an article from Shazbotdom University that AI had been looked into for military purposes and possible doing research in a quicker amount of time, but by a government decree, they wern't allowed to because they looked at using AI for this purpose as 'irreprensivley wrong' and a breach of human rights for any workers that would loose their jobs.

Within a few minutes, his secretary, Sara, walked in with a folder.

"Sir. This is all the information that we could find. Including information from the United Naitons on them. I had them fax most of the stuff over as top pritority."

"Thanks Sara. But you didn't need to rush it. You may go now. Oh, and you can head out for the day, I can catch up with my work on my own for now."

"Thank you, Sir." She said, and then she walked out of his office.

Hmmz, He thought to himself. I'll keep an eye on this nation for now. He then picked up his phone.

"General. I want SpySat's 121 through 125 to move to coordinates directly over a nation calling itself '001-0001-MNTR'. Keep an eye on them for now."

"Yes, Sir," Came a responce over the phone.

Roughly One-Hundred Kilometers Off-Shore, Task Force Zero-Six, Command of Vice Admiral Padora Iakovlev
At the center of the more than one-thousand ship fleet, a force easily capable of establishing at least naval superiority, one-hundred heavy transports rocked. Alongside them were enough amphibious assault craft to put to shore an entire division, to clear the way. Surrounding these hundreds of auxiliary craft, the rest of the massive formation lay.

Shaped, as was their way, into a giant crescent shape, with the concave of the shape facing their enemies, the fleet advanced at a ponderous twenty-eight knots. At the peripheral edges the smaller ships skimmed the waves, their sensors humming quietly as they ticked away the long journey, cataloguing whales and rocks mistaken for anything else...

Inside, the greatest power lay. Eight of the some of the largest surface ships the Dominion had available, the monumental Calypso-class dreadnoughts, each more than a kilometer in length, made up the pinnacle of this force's fighting strength. Flanking them were the carriers, and beyond that battle cruisers and escorts.

Standing in his Spartan observation room, halfway up the central tower of the Calypso-class ship, the Bane of the Faithless, Vice Admiral Padora Iakovlev watched. If it was possible for him to feel such a thing as pride, he would have done so right now. Early in his life, as was the case with all Pudite citizens, they had never been exposed to any of the baser emotions. In fact, an effort was made to eliminate almost all feelings of emotion from the military caste, and in many ways, they had succeeded.

Now, this husk of a man observed his tools. He felt nothing, and could not. In fact, as was the same with all citizens, he had not even a name. Issued to him when he left the Dominion, to comply with foreign standards, the name Padora Iakovlev was new to the organism who was known to his government internally only as WCNA-003-677-753-003. Naturally, that would become unwieldy in international communication.

Now, he faced an enemy as foreign as himself. For years the Emperor has chosen his battles wisely. The legions of Pudite soldiers marched through the streets of small nations, poor nations, countries under the shadow of civil war or impoverishment. Against their larger foes, the Dominion moved with scores of allies and armies of colonial levies. Now a new threat had emerged, and the Dominion was stretched thin. For the first time, the Emperor faced an enemy that could be compared, uniquely, to themselves.

As the massive crescent battle fleet approached the two machine-inhabited islands, as the smaller of the two, their target, emerged onto the long-range sensors, the fleet primed its weapons. Whatever happened, it would be unique among all wars, and even the Dominion could not have trained for that…

Whatever was coming…

The previously peaceful DOMA-004-1568 Model infrastructure unit suddenly burst into life, a large glass sheet was raised in front of its beady red eyes and the tablet under its insectoid feelers was replaced by a complex keyboard with at least a hundred keys, it instantly began to press down on the buttons needed to defend itself raising several units from across the map of the homelands which had appeared on the HUD.

++++

KRA-026-4184, a solemn dark cruiser resting in the bay began to spring to life, lights popped open on its hull and the rear engines spurted out waste ready to move as the anchor raised, all along the coast more floating machines were springing to life installing the directives from the DOMA, The Battleforce had finished installation and preperations and began its fracture, one headed North and the other South, leaving the bay area rather open, as soon as the Battlegroup had left and the bay was emptied the DOMA began its next command line, raising several hundred Nautical Mines which rested just under the surface and would cause a problem for naval landings.

++++

The DOMA switched its attention, from the bay it moved inland to the large unmarked lands devoid of any obstacles or plantlife, In the distance the Megacities doors opened and several MON Vertical Take off craft paraded down the clear area before activating their engines and leaping off the ground joining the several TOR Unmanned Aircraft screaching about the skies, the group gathered the directives from the DOMA and headed out East towards the center of the enemy battlegroup.

By Order of the Praetor Nikolai Ryzhkov

We protest the actions of the Pudite military, but due to preexisting economic conflicts with their nation we are unable to do anything at this time. As a result, we would be willing to act as mediators and/or provide humanitarian services to the citizens of 001-0001-MNTR including taking in refugees and immigrants as well as dispatch our mechanical and biomechanical engineers to provide medical services to your nation.

We apologize for this, but unfortunately prior conflicts prevent us from acting at this time.

Nikolai Ryzhkov,
Praetor of Vetalia

Praetor Ryzhkov stopped typing, silently staring at the message displayed on the monitor. His artificial heart pumped faster and thoughts blazed across his increasingly artificial brain. As a cyborg, he felt guilt at abandoning robotic allies, but he also realized that Vetalia needed Pudite arms in order to have a first-rate military. Perhaps some day he could be forgiven by the people of 001-0001-MNTR for what he was doing, but it was too late now. Reality came before idealism in Vetalia.

An aide entered his office. "Praetor Ryzhkov, have you prepared the statement for 001-0001-MNTR?" "Yes, it's ready" "We'll have the network locked down for secure transmission in a few minutes". Nikolai stared at the message for a little longer before transmitting it. He had done what he could in their current situation, but couldn't shake the feeling that he had not done the right thing.

All he hoped was that Vetalia could save as many lives as possible in the coming holocaust.

To: The Lord Fenris Administration
From: Mr. White, foreign affairs officer

Following your previous communiqué, we have been monitoring your nation, on the suspect that you may choose, foolishly, to intervene. Now it seems that you are mobilizing, and one can only assume that force is directed at ourselves.

If your pitiful, whimpering soldiers, of which there cannot surely be many, even come close to our navy or the machine-state's island, I assure you, you will be next. Do not tempt us. Our Legions outnumber your civilians, and our ships are many and powerful. Any ill-conceived intervention here will result in imminent invasion and annexation of your homeland.

You cannot win this war, and if you should be so foolish to try, we will show you why. If you disarm your forces now, you will be left be. A bill for the cost of this message will be wired to you.

Good day,
Mr. White.

Pudite Task Force Zero-Six, Carrier Flotilla, The First Blows
At the center of the massive crescent, the first components of the fleet began to stir. For hours airborne patrols had been flying overhead, light fighters, only screening for an attack. Now, they would lead one. More than two-thousand of the advanced F-78K Strakhen Sokol naval fighters screamed up and off the decks of their respective carriers. They would link up with the two-hundred of the F-41A fighters already flying, and proceed, in perfect formation, towards the recently detected foreign aircraft that were flying out over their island. It seemed there were very few of these enemy aircraft, and so the pilots expected little trouble. All two-thousand five-hundred planes formed up into small, quick five-man squadrons.

As soon as the jets were in position, they fired their first volley. Long-range air-to-air missiles leapt off the wings and out of the compartments of the large machines. Each plane released a pair of them, which totaled roughly five-thousand sixty-kilogram warheads moving at speeds reaching mach eight, inexorably approaching their targets. Guided by limited LADAR systems, they relied heavily on thermal signatures for guidance. Very, very soon this battle would be over, and the Emperor would have command of the skies as well as the seas. This was going well…

Below, the ships continued forward, speeding up to thirty knots. Behind the fleet, some smaller elements drew back, notably the few Torrent-class arsenal ships and their escorts. Each of these was a floating missile platform, and now they were being put to use. The heavy top of the thousands of VLS tubes slid back, leaving only a light rubber skin, perforated for the missile to fold back as it passed through.

Suddenly, all at once, the skies lit up with the fires of thousands of rocket motors. Each of the thirty-five ships opened fire at once, launching an opening volley of four-hundred heavy anti-shipping missiles. Exactly fourteen-thousand missiles, all told, rushed ahead of the force at mach five, each bearing down with their three-hundred and eighty kilogram warhead. They would impact, in theory, the more vulnerable parts of the enemies ships; that is, the turrets, the command towers, and the deck.

Normally, this alone would be enough to deter many a fleet, however, the Rear Admiral knew the nature of his foes, and understood that nothing now could deter them. A force incapable of surrender, and a force incapable of mercy…

The cloud of small TOR Vehicles flew ahead of the far less dense MON wave, the TOR had but few directives being so small of memory, They flew head on into the large wave of enemy missiles, pulling them away if possible and if not forcing themselves straight into the projectiles, it was such a tragedy for the DOMA to see so many self sentient programs go offline at a time but it was for the protection of so many more.

The MON Fighters now opened up their own Missiles, they fired off at whichever targets they could lock onto with machine precision, of course some had succumbed to those Missiles which had avoided the TOR wave and brought the MON's whirling down in a flame towards the sea water.

(OOC: Can't think of a direction for the Naval ships right this minute, would you mind if we seperated and had the Air Battle first cos I'm very very tired right now, stayed up a little late playing RP's lastnight....)

OOC: It's all good, we'll handle the ships later. Just wondering, what were you playing last night?

Pudite Task Force Zero-Six, Naval Air Compliment, Meeting Engagements
The Pudite pilots silently rejoiced the fairly high kill ratio they had so far racked up, even be it against the enemies screen. As the two sides closed, the aircraft detected a wave of incoming missiles, and almost (almost) mechanically, they responded.

As they closed, the standard flares and chaff were released, but these would only draw off a limited number of the projectiles. As they got even closer, the real weapons were released. Point-defense systems, as one would find on a ship, sprang into life. Deep within a smooth pod built into the underside of the wing, something complex and expensive began to whirr...

Seconds later, a volley of highly concentrated beams of microwaves emanated suddenly from these pods, and would proceed to obliterate the wiring and computer systems, including those pertaining to detonation, and thusly render the missile simply a piece of light aluminum and sea garbage.

Although this was indeed a formidable defense, not all the offending technology could be overcome, and a fair number of the small F-41As were taken out, as well as a handful of the Strakhen Sokol fighters. The battle had been joined, and both sides had drawn blood, well, in a manner of speaking...

Soon the two waves of fighters would impact, and then the real struggle would begin. Split-second reactions from intelligent machines pitted against the reactions of the human machines. Short-range missiles, chaff pods, and microwave blasts would fly in what would appear a chaotic fashion. Both sides knew however, if there was anyone who could keep order in this maelstrom, it would be them...

It was only beginning...

(OOC: Bakk, and only 4 days late, YAY! Got over my depressionism man, let's get this show on the road!)

The DOMA predicted the chaos of the two waves meeting, it did so with such mechanical precision as to pull the fighters it needed away from collision courses but enough to allow them the ability to fire off deadly precise gunshots from remarkably close range.

The HUD displayed the entire conflict, every loss was a machine taken offline and if it could feel any emotion it had to have been pain, the symbiotic relation between unit and DOMA could not be seperated easily, but the DOMA felt secure in its own inevitable victory.

Suddenly the DOMA switched its attention, the skies were no longer of interest, it was all happening out at sea, the vast fleet of tiny MNTR vessels anticipating the arrival of thousands of rockets opened up their own weapons systems, towers of vast mirrors opened up reflecting the suns rays, but that was not were their deadliness lay, they waited for the missle storm to come into range and blindly they shot at the rockets.

The THEL's from the small ships designed to take down the enemy missle storm shot out heating the enemy rockets to the point of destruction, with a near impossible chance [without specific countermeasures] of survival the DOMA focused its mind on victory, only human.
