Muharb Rasheed stood just outside the oil rig complex dressed in workmen clothing with a slick coat covering his body from the rain that was pouring down upon his body and the other three dozen or so oil workers that came from several poor countries to work in the small Islamic Emirate of Kalizaca as well as Kalizaca nationals that worked on the rig. Muharb was about 6' 3 inches tall and he was dark skinned like most of these oil workers and he worked roughly 10 hours a day at the oil rig earning no more than six dollars an hour. Some of the workers had become frustrated by the low pay that the foreign company provided to its workers at this rig while in all it got subsidies and tax reliefs from the Kalizaca government whenever it looked like it would run in the red and upset its company shareholders. Another reason why some of the foreign workers were agitated was because of several posters that had appeared in the local community complaining of foreign infidels coming to Kalizaca borders to rape its resources and women and pollute the land and its women with non-Islamic ideals and roots.

Muharb had been born in the community that these posters had appeared in and being in the southern most borderregions of Kalizaca where just 17% of the oil revenue was, Muharb looked upon it with an economical aspect, if foreign workers were scared off of working it would garner more profits for the government and more importantly garner higher wages for the Kalizaca workers themselves. He did not believe that fundamental Islamists had infiltrated Kalizaca with its ideology of hatred to Western thoughts, ideas, and peoples like it had had to Kalizaca's souther neighbors.

Muharb picked up his equipment and nodded at a younger 17-odd Kalizaca youth before exiting the door and heading to the manager's office of the oil rig where most western workers if they were not oil workers themselved lived and worked (management). Looking up at the sky he felt the kid from the equipment shack rush by him. Noticing that the kid was not one of the ordinary workers of the oil rig Muharb began to turn around to look for a security agent when he was thrown from his feet and landed on a jagged piece of equipment that shredded his left leg badly. Looking up flames was coming from several oil bins that had been set on fire as well as from the main management office building as oil workers and staff at the rig cautiously ra around to check for wounded and to put out the fire.

Kalizaca Evening News:

Today in Southern Kalizaca there was a massive explosion at a small foreign run oil rig. The KEN has not received confirmation from government sources that the blast was the result of a young Kalizaca youth blowing himself up. All that we can report on deals with the fact that an unknown number of people have been injuried and killed in the blast while governmental agencies try to contain the fire and care for the wounded and injuried by contacting any international countries that may have had management staff or workers at the rig. The KEN would like to report that the cause of the explosion hasn't been definitely declared as a suicide explosion and we ask for all foreign and national news subscribers to please be patient while we find out what has occured in Kalizaca.

Ashjinibajan Roshab stood and rubbed his eyes as he looked at the news report and what his generals had informed him began to really sink in. The nation of Kalizaca was one of the newer Islamic majority lead nations that had sprung up in the region and since taking office as the First President of Kalizaca nearly three and a half years ago when it achieved independence, some advisors had begun to worry about the Islamic tilt or makeup of the people of Kalizaca and the political framework. As Islamic insurgencies destroyed Kalizaca's souther neighbors, more and more refugees were taken in and integrated into the Kalizaca lifestyle. When oil was found in the northern, central and southern regions more foreigners of the western variety began to arrive and thus started the protests in local mosques by some Imans about the corrupt influence foreigners were having on Kalizaca core Islamic beliefs. President Roshab had done nothing during these early months of his Presidency against these Imans and now with a suicide bombing by a Kalizaca youth at a southern foreign oil rig was causing concern in cabinet.

"Now issue a governmental response to the world community that it might be southern influences that are unhappy about Kalizaca success in the international community and economically, and using a poor illiterate Kalizaca youth to deal damage to our nation."

Today the Kalizaca foreign ministry is saddened by an attack on a foreign oil rig today that resulted in the deaths of three workers at the rig (one foreign) and the suicide bomber himself with the wounding of fifteen additional workers (8 foreign). It is felt by the Kalizaca government that southern neighbors or Islamic militants within these neighbors plotted and then carried out a strike against this foreign owned oil rig to get back at Kalizaca by maintaining its Islamic values while not giving up western ideas, and relations. We wholeheartedly condemn such a vicious act and call on international community members not to abandon sending corporate investment and workers to Kalizaca as they will remain safe with stepped up military protection at key sites.

IC: "DAMMIT!" The General-Secretary nearly screamed, "How the hell did this happen?"

The economic minister and defense minister shared his angry mood. Some of those oil bins had contained vital fuel for Red Tide.

Ten million barrels of oil... gone! The economic minister fumed quietly. That was the share of imported oil from that particular region going to the Red Tidean economy. The defense minister was fuming that he wouldnt have the diesal and gasoline produced from another five million barrels. He would have to cut several mechanized-infantry and armored divisions from planned military exercises that were to begin in three months.

Infrastructure was also ticked by this news, but less so. This was because Red Tide's train system was mostly electric now, and didnt rely as heavily on diesal powered as it used to. But they still had to import a million barrels of oil from that region to refine into diesal fuel for some other trains.

Red Tide could make up for the loss, barely, with one time purchases from other nations. But the General Secretary was still angry. He turned to the foreign minister.

"Tell them to beef up their security or we will do it for them!" He told the foreign minister.

"But... sir..." The foreign minister began, but the General-Secretary was already walking away. Defense and Economy glared at him, while Infrastructure shrugged and gathered his notes.

Kalizaca Foreign Affairs Response to Calizorinstan:

The Kalizaca foreign ministry believes that the Calizorinstan government should instead of sending special forces, should lend military and police advisors like Red Tide has offered. We propose that the Calizorinstan government send 20 advisors and the nation of Red Tide provide nearly 40 advisors would be good to beef up security at oil installations. The Kalizaca foreign ministry would also like to apologize to the Red Tide government for losses in oil exports that would have been sent to Red Tide.

The Kalizaca Foreign Ministry can confirm that Ivan Nekrasov was killed in the suicide attack on the oil rig and three of the Vetalian citizens were wounded in the attack beside the military attache that is still being tracked down but isn't believed to be wounded.

This is terrible news. We will inform Vetalian Syncrude and the family of Mr. Nekrasov that he has been killed and transport him back to Vetalia for burial.

However, the fact that the others are not confirmed dead is heartening. Should you require it, Vetalia can start transferring some military forces and equipment to aid in the search. In the even that hostilities escalate, we will be willing to provide additional assistance should you want it. We can't afford our companies' operations or your nation to be attacked by extremists.

Please detail your military and equipment needs so that we can inform the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Intelligence and prepare our strategy.

The Kalizaca foreign ministry believes that the Vetalia government if they can should provide about 30 to 40 military advisors to the nation of Kalizaca on the idea that if open hostilities occur that more advisors and combat personnel should be sent at the appropriate time.

We plan to transfer one company of 200 soldiers to your country. Of them, one platoon of 40 men under the command of Senior Lieutenant Leo Borodin will serve as military advisors to your government. They will be in place within the next three days.

The remaining four platoons will be used to enhance security at Vetalian embassies and consulates, and will be under the command of Captain Mikhail Tishkov who will serve as the main military contact on the ground between your government and the Vetalian Ministry of Defense. In addition, we have put our Ministry of Foreign Intelligence agents on higher alert to see if we can get any information on the whereabouts of the missing workers.

I have recently been made aware of the fact that through one of their subsidiaries Tolvanic Petroleum owns 27 oil platforms in your territorial waters. With your permission we would like to deploy a small force of Marines, based aboard one of our warships to provide extra security for these rigs. The total number of personnel deployed will not exceed 500 and none will set foot on Kalizacan soil.

Today in a small community in southern Kalizaca a shoot-out occured between police units and several suspected insurgents. The outcome of the battle was in Kalizaca's favour as two of the five insurgents were killed and seven people including three badly wounded insurgents were detained. However, sadly, a police officer was killed in the operation and three other police officers lightly wounded.

OOC: This is from a post i could not pos because this system went down with errors. So I will repost the battle when I get home.

The people of Kalizaca would be okay if a Tolvan marine supply group arrived to reinforce some of Tolvan's oil refineries and rigs in Kalizaca.

In the capital city of Numaris, a population of nearly 650,000 people, there was three massive explosions that rocked a Vetalian education center, a local marketplace in the center of the city and the Parliment buildings. In the parliment attacks and the marketplace bombing two young Kalizaca men were used as suicide bombers while in the vetalian attack a massive car bomb was used.

In the parliment attacks it has been confirmed that; 4 Kalizaca citizens (including the bomber and a parlimentarian) have been killed and nearly 47 people wounded. This count does not take into consideration any possibly foreign people wounded or killed.

In the market blast, 7 Kalizaca citizens including the bomber and two policemen were killed and nearly 128 people were injuried in the blast.

Finally at the education center, 2 Kalizaca citizens were killed and an unknown foreigners were killed or wounded raising the death toll from Islamic insurgency roughly to 24 so far.

OOC: So any foreign nation can post that they are looking for missing citizens or injuried or confirmed killed citizens in any three of the attacks. However for the Vetalian education center, if there are foreigner's killed or injuried we would be looked t Vetalian's mostly. Thank you.

Kalizacan Coastal Waters

The destroyer Morgan had been redeployed from its routine patrols in the area to provide security for the Tolvanic Petroleum (TP) oil platforms in Kalizaca. In addition to her ordinary complement of 380 sailors the Morgan also carried 120 Marines and a 20 man Special Boat Service (OOC: Tolvanic SEALs) team. Once the ship was in position she began ferrying teasm of Marines and armed sailors out to the platforms considered most at risk via the ship's SH-60 helos. The SBS team would remain aboard as a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) in the event there was an attack on Tolvanic property.
