Garisha

The nation of Garisha is a largely capitalist consumerist nation that is anti-enivronmental and believes strongly in its nationalist (dictatorial) leader Benjar Sandhir who does not give into the indigenous communities that live on the perifery of the Garisha state and his politcal party, the Garisha Nationalist Party has a choke hold on the House of Commons and the judical system within this nation of five million people. An untold number of people are desenters to the government, and if they openly demonstrate against the government they are immediately jailed and sentenced usually to up to five years in hard labour camps, mining Garisha natural resources or cutting down some of the pristine forests that reside on the northern islands of Garisha. Likewise with the support of the the 200,000 strong army it is unknown what size of support the Sandhir government gets from the general population if any, but with a strong military presence, none is needed one seems to guess?
With such a political and social situation set up in Garisha several international human rights organization have set up several offices in the capital of Sukamara where it is staffed by national and international staff. However, the government of Garisha has put into its constitution that foreign interference, human rights activists for example, are not protected under Garisha law if Garisha nationals take criminal or political action against these organizations as they are stationed in Garisha on the Republic's own accord and not on the organization's accord. And therefore they can be removed while no judical actions could take place against criminals that might take action against these human rights organizations.
Alowstown, Garisha:
In Alowstown a northern island forestry village there was a small center of a Human Rights NGO organization that had been set up four months before. The NGO group was documenting the violations of indigenous rights in this tribal area as well as the poor working conditions and rights the forestry workers had under the national forestry company, Dico. Therefore with a staff of three foreign citizens and two indigenous staffers the office was one of the smallest offices of human rights groups in Garisha.
On this date, the office was beginning to close down after documenting the death of an indigenous citizen who had been working for the forestry company and had appeared face down on one of the beaches after speaking with their office. The human rights organization believed it was murder but the local authorities had indicated that it was from natural causes or possible suicide. As the office was closing down there was only three of the five staff members in the office in the center of Alowstown. Two of them were international citizens and the third member was an indigenous member from the island. At the front door a screech of breaks were heard and the three men went to the window to look.
The three quickly ran back to their desks as the back of a pickup truck smashed into the front section of the office building. From there two masked men grabbed the two international staffers and shoved them into the truck. They then hit the indigenous staff member with metal pipes several times breaking both of his arms before leaving in the truck with the two international staffers leaving the indigenous man badly wounded. Two young forestry workers and a young 'barmaid' from the local bar and nearby hotel came and noticed the damage to the Human Rights office and found the badly wounded staffer before they took them back to the hotel for treatment as they were worried about the man being left for local authorities.
Garisha National Government Response:
Last night a Human Rights NCO group had one of their offices vandalized and had two of their members taked away by several men on our northern islands. We have informed the NGOs before about the reports they issue and how their ideologies do not meld with many of the people in our borderlands that we are bringing up to our standard in the capital. Therefore it is expected for incidents like this to occur. However we will spend all resources we can to find these two internationals alive and we are going to begin to look at the NGO groups themself because they may have tried to bring international publicity to Garisha that is harmful to our international relations. We will have more to report later on the incident that has occured in our northern territories.
