SIC 1:
In an underground bunker somewhere underneath Berlin
1400 hours
Eric Richtoff: “So, how is our neighbor’s war progressing?”
Bjorn Pfern: “Quite well, in fact. Thus far, despite the implication of allies, the fighting has not spread into our hemisphere.”
Eric Richtoff: “Yes, I know. The time has come to open this new front. It is time for a renewal of some heathen lands.”
Gasps are audible from the Germanic High Council
Eric Richtoff: “Do you know what I hold in my hand? They are satellite photos of terrorist training camps. This one is in Libya, this one is in Somalia, and this one is in the Kingdom of Erstereich. Three months before the attack on the North American Republic, the occupancy of the camp in the Kingdom of Erstereich increased by 30. About one month before the Havana bombing, the trainees began leaving in pairs until one week before the bombing, when the occupancy was back to normal levels. The next week, a bomb exploded in Havana leaving thousands of victims dead. These terrorists have not been linked to the bombing, but I believe that our explanation will satisfy the North American Republic. As for their alliance members, I believe that the Union of the Russias can be bought over with a small gift once our conquest is complete.”
Jorg Greach: “But sir! What of the Avengers? Or the Third Alliance for that matter? This may upset them greatly!”
Eric Richtoff: “Bah, the Avengers. They are nothing. We need not worry over them. As for the Third Alliance, they will back us on this one. I have already contacted the Western European Federation’s top officials. In exchange for the Balkan States, they will brave the fight alongside us.”
General Jorg Klischten: “Now this is becoming feasible. Since we have been at DEFCON 1 now for the past month, the attack can come swiftly. I assume you want to attack through Romania and push through to Kuwait?
Eric Richtoff: “That’s exactly it. I want our forces guarding the border with Dirik reassigned for this attack. They are of no threat to us. Within the end of this hour, I want our planes bombing the fuck out of Romania. Use the EMP bombs on their major cities and watch things go awry. By nightfall, I want our troops moving in.”
General Jorg Klischten: “Can do, sir. My staff and I will begin at once. Our first priority will be the city of Oradea, a border city near Hungary.”
The meeting lingers on for a few more minutes and then gradually dissipates
SIC 2:

Prepare your soldiers, loyal ally, as the war is about to commence. We would like your assistance until we take Turkey, and after that we will allow you to attack the Balkan States.

General Jorg Klischten
SIC 3:
TO: Bill Frist
FROM: Greater Germanic Alliance
Today the Greater Germanic Alliance is declaring war on the Kingdom of Erstereich. Enclosed you will find a satellite photo of a terrorist training center in the heart of the Kingdom of Erstereich. Also enclosed is a graph of occupancy levels that show how the attendance escalates and then degrades as the attack on Havana neared. We have linked them to the bombing in Havana. We are thus invading this terrorist harboring nation, and hope you will support our actions.
Sincerely,
Eric Richtoff
SIC 4:
TO: Union of the Russias
FROM: Greater Germanic Alliance
Today the Greater Germanic Alliance is declaring war on the Kingdom of Erstereich. We have linked them to the bombing of Havana in your ally’s country. If this is not enough to ward off any potential fears you might have, let me remind you of our Non-Aggression Pact. If you are still disturbed, then perhaps after the war is resolved we will donate some of the conquered territory to your great nation.
Sincerely,
Eric Richtoff
IC 1:
Official Declaration of War
Today, the Greater Germanic Alliance has declared war on the Kingdom of Erstereich. After numerous grievances, including the kidnapping of our attorney general, the meager string holding the Greater Germanic Alliance from war has snapped. We have discovered beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Kingdom of Erstereich was harboring and training terrorists who planted the bomb in Havana. It is with a heavy heart that the Greater Germanic Alliance declares war, but we view it as necessary for the protection of our society for future generations.
IC 2:
5 SAAB JAS-40 Gripens, straight out of the factory, screamed across the dusk sky. They were heading on a mission to drop two EMP bombs over Oradea, one of the border cities of the Kingdom of Erstereich and the location of the first attack from the Greater Germanic Alliance. Since the Greater Germanic Alliance does not have the luxury of a bomber fleet, the Gripens would have to suffice as such. Slowly, the city began to grow on the horizon. The targets were near the center of the city. The first, then the second pilots locked on. “Lights out baby,” shouted one pilot as he delivered his payload and began to pull up. After the bombs were away, the Gripens pulled off and began to head home.

Inside the war room stood the usual staff of Generals, Admirals, and Directors, awaiting Rovanovic's entrance. He finally arrived and the meeting began.
"What is the situation?" asked the Chancellor.
"We'll, in short, Erstreich has been attacked by the TA." said Field Marshal Koslovic. "They are making moves on them as we speak."
"Well, we need to do something about this." said Rovanovic. "Has anything been done to the Caucasus states yet?"
"No." replied Koslovic
"Well, in that case, we should move in the 2nd Field Army in to 're-instate order' there."
"Chancellor, may I make a suggestion?" asked Admiral Degtaryev.
"Yes, go ahead." replied Rovanovic.
"The Istanbul Channel is open for attack now, and if taken, we could have a vital foothold for our Baltic Fleet." he stated.
"Okay, sounds like a plan. Get some Naval Infantry over and land. At the same time, I authorize the use of the 2nd Field Army to move into the Caucasus. Are there any more suggestions?" Rovanovic asked.
"Well, if I may speak Chancellor, I have grim news." said Director Romanov of the GRU.
"What is that, Dmitri?" asked Rovanovic.
"We found something on that Czechalrussian ship."
"Tell me later. Men, get your jobs done."

UR Message to those involved in the Erstreich Conflict
As some of you may know, the Union of the Russias views this chaotic situation to the south of us as a threat. Therefore, we are sending in out 2nd Field Army into the Caucasus to reinstate order. We need no assistance or military aid from other nations outside of the Entente. There has also been a report that the Nikanovic and Jannonen families who were vacationing in Istanbul at the time of the invasion, were captured and held by Erstreich officials. We are sending in a Baltic fleet Task force and a Naval Infantry landing force to rescue these two innocent families. Again, we need no assistance and will not accept any assistance outside of that from the Entente. Thank you, and have a nice night.
Vladimir Rovanovic, Chancellor of the UR
OOC: The latter statement is complete BS, made just as an excuse of landing in Istanbul. None of you know that ICly though...

Sincerely,

Naturally, the GGA wishes to deal peacefully with you. If Turkey becomes a member of the GGA, and UR troops remain in Istanbul, the situation may become so tense that we would wish to avoid it. In any case, the GGA wishes to control that city by the end of the war, and will compensate you greatly if need be.

War Room, WEF Commission HQ, London
Mrs. Laura Harding, High Commissioner of the Western European Federation, stared worryingly at her Defence Commissioner, François Chirac, across the room. She thought the need would not come from what she held in her hands, but there was no other evidence to authorize an attack which would not be condemned by the international community. GGA had made the first move, and now it was time for the WEF to follow. They would rid Europe of these people they did not trust, the ones that remained quiet; they'd develop the countries and make them another beautiful part of the WEF - first diplomacy, then war.
She turned to the man next to her and said "Send these to press."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
UK NEWS NETWORK
News brought to you who can afford it, with a smile.
“Welcome, citizens of the UK. Today our headline news is of something horrific that has happened within Europe, and has received a stern, war threatening GGA response. Yes, our greatest ally has uncovered pictures that reveal the Kingdom of Erstereich has been harbouring terrorists, training them and possibly sending them to commit the Havana terrible mass murders of thousands.
But this affects two other European alliances, as today the WEF also revealed that they would be supporting the GGA attack on Erstereich, and that there intelligence agencies had discovered disturbing images that not only had their neighbours the Republic of Yugoslavia had supporting Erstereich, they also had been training terrorists themselves, and possibly with deadly bombs like what could have been used for the Havana attacks.
Today our leader Mrs. Laura Harding, just a few months away from an election, said “she would not stand for this” and “the GGA has our full support, and we hope Russia continues to help them also”. But it was the final part of the speech that will affect us all the most, broadcasting here:
“Citizens of the World, today our great ally the Greater Germanic Alliance began steps to invading the countries of the Kingdom of Erstereich. And why have they declared war? Because it was these corrupt government and their neighbours that committed the horrific acts in Havana. Reliable evidence has been put forward by both the GGA and now us, that the Kingdom of Erstereich, and even it’s close neighbour of the Yugoslavian States, have harboured and trained terrorists in some hideous anti-America, and anti-European plan. These areas have long caused unrest in Europe – long been quiet, but now with the co-operation of the WEF and GGA intelligence agencies we have found out they have been trying to ignite a terrible war in Europe and South America – we must stop them before they succeed here!”
“Therefore, it was decided at 09:15am this morning that unless they surrender within the next 24 hours, the Western European Federation is officially at war with the Kingdom of Erstereich and Republic of Yugoslavia. We ask fellow nations, TA or not, to condemn these countries and support our invasion.”

SECRET MESSAGE TO: Greater Germanic Alliance
Our ground forces in Italy and France have been mobilized for attack, as have our navies in Spain, the UK and Italy. We will lend a helping hand, and call on all other Third Alliance members nearby to help us in our invasion of the Kingdom of Erstereich and Republic of Yugoslavia.
We hereby request we can place troops in Hungary and Slovenia for a joint attack on your next move, and also on Croatia. Our troops are heading to these locations, but await your permission.
Signed:
- Commissioner Of Defence, François Chirac
SECRET MESSAGE TO: Bill Frist
It is time we unite for one cause. Since your invasion of South American countries the Entente and the Third Alliance have been divided and argumentative, but we and the GGA have found evidence implicating two European Alliances as being involved in the Havana attacks - evidence you can not forge or fabricate. We are not undermining your evidence that supported your South American attacks - we believe that they could have used their technology to help Marx maybe, and the USSM was not to be trusted anyway. Military support is not needed, but do not fight us in our common cause against terror. The same message goes out to all of the nations in the world.
Signed:
- Commissioner Of Defence, François Chirac
SECRET MESSAGE TO: Republic of Yugoslavia
You have been implicated in this war due to your possible terrorist actions. Your neighbour has also been found guilty. We see it best that you surrender and we begin to sort this out diplomatically, or we will soon commence an invasion.

The GEACPS will not state their position in the conflict at this time.
In the meantime, an Atago class destroyer, two Takanami class destroyers, three Shirane class destoyers, and four Abukuma class destroyer escorts are to deployed to the island of Rhodes to protect our interests in the area.
Emperor Akihito
"The shit's beginning to hit the proverbial fan," remarked Watanabe Yuki, the GEACPS Secretary of State.
"Indeed," was the blunt reply of the Minister of War, Fuchida Junichi.
"Do you think we should get involved in this conflict, perhaps getting a foothold in Europe in the process?" was the question posed to Fuchida by Watanabe.
"Absolutely not, it will only turn our allies against us," another cold response from Junichi.
"But think of the possibilities for expansion with a territory on another continent."
"Remain in your area of expertise, Secretary. Exactly where would we expand? WEF or GGA-controlled Balkans? I think not. Russian-controlled Turkey? And start a world war? I'll put it in plain and simple terms, no."
"Ah, ok, I get it. I was just being optimistic."
"Anyway, in other news, the Emperor released a statement to the world about our apparent declaration of seeming neutrality. He ordered a dispatch of the fleet to Rhodes to monitor the situation."
"Hmm, interesting, maybe he shares my views."
"I doubt it, he has lived long enough to have the wisdom to know not to start a world war."
With not another word spoken, the parties involved in the conversation dispersed and returned to their daily routines.

If we do indeed merge with the Entente, then I will be able to reassign my men on the UR border to Slovenia. At this point, however, I have few troops there. Assitance from you would be greatly helpful, especially if you first deployed in Hungary, then moved with the GGA until just before Turkey. This would give the GGA an immense amount of help and would also cut off Yugoslavia from foreign aid.

SECRET MESSAGE TO: Greater Germanic Alliance Department of War
I have approached Yugoslavia with an order to surrender, if they do not reply or comply we will order an invasion of their territories on the grounds of the terrorism that is highly present in there government and countries. We knew Russia would want more land when this conflict was too begin - it seems to be in there nature - so I say we allow them to recover their men in Turkey, and try as hard as we can to pressure them diplomatically into taking the Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia territories they have had there eye on. I feel really they do not want a war over Turkey, and we should try and get them on our side.
The WEF plan is too pressure the Yugoslavian states first, a short siege, with lots of diplomatic pressure too. We will begin sending in troops to Hungary immediately to commence our operations against Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Greece. Assistance will be required at some point in our operations there. We will agree to send troops to assist in your invasion of countries up to Turkey, though the numbers will not be as great as yours.

I already have word that the UR will leave Turkey once the situation calms, as I contacted them myself over the same issue. I do agree that their influence in this conflict should be kept to a minimum, and hopefully be concentrated around Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. Maybe we can get the NAR to put some political pressure on to keep them out of the main fight. We would like to offer the use of Slovenia as a starting point for your attack on Yugoslavia. I would hope that your troop numbers don't match ours in our attack though, as we are commiting approximately 450,000 soldiers (this is classified) to the attack.

Meeting Room #2, Niisel Khuree, Mongolian Republic
"They did what?"
President Altangerel bit his lip in worry as the representative from Intelligence explained further to the assembled group of ministers. "The GGA and WEF claim to have found evidence that Erstereich and Yugoslavia had a hand in the Havana attacks. And they have thus declared war. They're probably planning on annexing the lands they take, too."
"And has anyone actually seen this damning evidence?" the Foreign Affairs Minister inquired.
The representative shrugged helplessly. "We've just heard something about 'harboring terrorists', nothing specific."
Prime Minister Borjigin dismissed the representative and leaned back in his chair. "Gentlemen, we basically have two options at this point: we can either take no official position, or we can state our explicit spiritual support. Which is it?"
President Altangerel shook his head. "Personally, I see no reason to throw our full support behind something so blatantly imperialist. They seem to have simply rushed off to war without a second thought. I have to wonder about that."
"But the WEF has been very supportive of us lately," the War Minister reminded him. "And they did help us offset the blow to our economy from the purchase of military equipment."
"So they did," Altangerel conceded.
After several minutes' further deliberation, Prime Minister Borjigin leaned forward again and said, "Gentlemen, we're going to have to support our allies' recent actions. We may not like it, but that's the way the world works. We owe the WEF at least that much. So let's do that, and try not to get involved any further. I doubt we will anyway, seeing as how we're kind of distanced from where the action is."
Official Communique of the Mongolian Republic
The Mongolian Republic fully supports the current efforts of the GGA and WEF to bring the governments of Erstereich and Yugoslavia to justice. If the evidence they have put forth is true, then the criminal regimes deserve nothing less. We must register our slight distaste that war has been declared so quickly, but we still support our allies' current actions overall.
Godspeed.
Nergui Borjigin
Prime Minister of the Mongolian Republic
TO: Mongolia Republic All Third Alliance Nations
Do not worry allies, we have yet to declare war on the two terror ridden states, though we have demanded there surrender to avoid it "Therefore, from 09:15am this morning, the Western European Federation is officially at war with the Kingdom of Erstereich and Republic of Yugoslavia unless they surrender within the next 24 hours". We would not rush into war so quickly like our close GGA ally as we fear it would cause world unrest, though sadly it seems inevidebtly.

Somewhere in Romania
"Gentlemen, as you have no doubt heard. We are at war with the Greater Germanic Alliance. They have wrongfully perpatrated a lie that we harbored the terrorists that bombed Havana, may god have mercy on those poor people's souls, and is now opening war." The Prime Minister Said.
"Also it would seem that the Union of all the Russias, in their infinite stupidity have attacked Istanbul. Stating some random bullshit excuse to enter the city. We are not currently at war with them, but I beleive soon we may be." He said.
"Gentlemen, what is our course of action?" He said.
"The Black Sea Fleet can try and contain the Russian Fleet around Instanbul, while troops from outside the city try and retake the town. The fifth armored division and it's Leopard 2s are nearby waiting for the order to enter the city." An Admiral said.
"The GGA has already begun their attack with a bombing of Oradea earlier. IT would appear the bombs were some kind of EMP device to short out the electrical devices in the city. Luckily for us, these bombs were not large enough to cause alot of damage and only portions of the city are without power. The nearby 4th and 5th Corps are prepared to defend the border, but I have another idea in mind." A General said as he stood up to walk towards a map.
"You see how small our border with the Greater Germanic Alliance is? If the GGA can get troops into our country and start pushing back we've all but lost. So with that in mind I am making this recommendation. We launch an offensive into the GGA before theirs can begin. The Corps nearby are armed with 350 Leopard 2s and 150 T-72s. Our Mi-24 Hinds can provide close air-support with the advancing troops and possibly knock out some of the GGA's tank force. If we can, I would like to launch a minor artillery and aerial attack agains them before hand. The 400,000 men of those corps will then punch a hole in the German Line." The General said.
"Make it happen." The Prime Minister said.

Along the Romanian-GGA border
The PzH 2000 crew was preparing quickly. The order had gone out only 2 hours ago to prepare to fire as much artillery across the border as possible. Everything was nearly ready for it begin. Some of the crew members looked to the Northeast toward other artillery. Other PzH 2000s and M198 towed artillery were preparing as well. Most of them were finished with few others still making the final adjustments. They were targeting the cities of Békéscsaba and Debrecen. These cities were the nearest to the border.
Suddenly 10 F-4 II Phantoms soared just above the treeline. That was the signal to begin. Crews began loading rounds into their Artillery peices. They were firing them within moments. They were to change their targets to areas just across the border after 10 minutes of firing.
The F-4 Phantoms stayed low, trying to keep off the GGA Radar, sometimes only 25 feet from the ground. They were heading directly for the only known GGA position and were going to drop a couple of bombs on it.

-The Phantoms-
The Phantoms were nearing their target. It was a GGA military base. They knew most of their bombs would have very little effect on the base, but they wanted payback for the attack on Oradea. They came in on the base in attack position, preparing the let their bombs go as soon as possible.
Suddenly warning lights went off in their cockpits. Missles. Fucking GGA SAM sites had targeted them faster then expected. They then broke formation to try and lose the missles. When it becamse apparent that it wouldn't work they moved back into formation. They had only one defense left against the missles. Chaff. They deployed it as close together as they could to maximize it's effect on the missles.
The missles went off their screens for a moment. The pilots breathed a sigh of relief and prepared to drop their bombs. Suddenly the warning lights went off again in two of the Phantoms. They didn't even have time to scream as SAM Missles punched into their planes. They were dead before the wreckage hit the ground. The rest of the pilots were very sad over the death of their comrades and at the same time mad at the GGA. They dropped their bombs, which, as expected, had little effect on the base and returned home.
-The Line-
The artillery had been thundering for 43 minutes now. They were nearing the end of their bombardment. After this was over, they were expect to load up and prepare to follow the initial advancement of soldiers into the GGA. Over the course of the bombardment, the crews had been instructed to aim farther away. Reports were coming in that the GGA forces were pulling back to keep casualties at a minimum. The Army had already gotten it's first of Propaganda.
Suddenly the commanders watches went off indicating that 45 minutes had gone off. They quickly stopped firing rounds and began to load up. It would take them roughly 30-45 minutes to load up and prepare to move out. In that time the troops entering the GGA were without Artillery Support, although they had minor amounts of air-support.
The artillery crews saw the soldiers head into GGA. They were being spearheaded by Leopard 2s and T-72 tanks. Mechanized infrantry in APCs followed closely behind them, with IFVs and other equipment coming with the APCs.

Area 51
Section 0
Section 0 HQ wasn't even on a "floor", so to speak, of Area 51-all the better, as the rest of the organization, while not being known by most of America, didn't even know about "The Black Whole" (As Sec 0 termed themselves casually) themselves. However, they were the corrupt cog that kept the whole machine moving, and they were the ones who, quite literally, plotted the future of America. Not the filibustering politicians in Chicago, not the grandiose-planning generals in Washington...rather, ordinary-looking men in the Southwest desert.
The "most ordinary" of these ordinary men was "Robert Johnson"-or so he claimed his name was. No one exactly knew "Johnson", but the "Viceroy", as he stylized his own name, was the head of OMI. He was known to the nation as a whole, but his real purpose was only known to the Black Whole. He was a political, strategic, and intelligent mastermind, with his braintrust guiding America to the power it was. He was a mere 55 years old-and he looked 15 years younger, due to some of the unorthodox things that OMI had developed underground.
0's daily executive meeting-the Inner Circle of the Whole met for the briefing, then went about their business-was a bit more active this day. The GGA's communication had been intercepted by Section 2 before it had reached Chicago and re-routed to Area 51. Now, it was known what was going on...and while Chancellor Frist may have just thought it was a counter-terrorist ploy, OMI was far smarter-they could see that the GGA wanted to expand into territory to put a zone against Russia, and maybe for more secular gains, as well. They were the premier intelligence organization in the world for a reason.
The Viceroy was fairly quick in the briefing. It was simple: essentially, an expansion of the plan that was already in the making to rein in Central and South America. This time, however, the Republic would stretch its reachings to a third continent: Europe. The Viceroy's plan was fairly simple. Deploy an LHD assault group, and a CVBG. It was all that would be needed-the aging Kitty Hawk group could go as the newer carriers focused on pummeling the CAE, Marxikhan, and the Carribbean.
They would ensure that the sovereignty of Futuris-a promising nation, possibly an ally-would not be violated and "aid" any works by the GGA. To do it, of course, would require more than a CVBG-they would need a base of operations. Rather than use an existing foreign base, the Viceroy presented a more lucrative plan: Deprive Cyprus of their sovereignty. Cyprus would be one of OMI's most truthful moves-the island nation was long torn in civil war, and actually was a terror hotbed. The Republic would make sure that it didn't get out of hand, since the Europeans wouldn't take care of it...OMI would see to that.
The Viceroy was confident, and some political works by Frist-he was good for one thing-would help out. Cyprus could become a Republic outpost quickly. It was close enough to Estereich to be convincing.
Chicago
Executive Mansion
Frist was tired from all the hub, and then OMI had sent him the latest-a communication from the GGA about a terrorist network in the kingdom of Estereich. Extensions, OMI's head Robert Johnson claimed, extended into Turkish-influenced Northern Cyprus-a nation not targeted by the supposed move by the GGA. A simple terror mop-up, much as like what was going on south of the border. Johnson was advocating to take Cyprus by force-and Frist, tired of all the hub recently-was inclined to go for out.
A quick meeting of the heads of the armed forces was held in the Pentagon to briefly discuss strategy-like it or not by the GGA, the Republic was going to move into Cyprus. They would enter through the Strait of Gibralter-the LHD group of the USS Bonhomme Richard and the Kitty Hawk CVBG. More than enough, with a standard TACAIR wing and a large enough land force to deal with Cyprus. The country was fighting as it was, with the Turkish North frequently launching attacks against the Greek South. The Americans had a plan.
The Republic would go in alledgedly supporting the South. They would quickly wipe out the North, and establish a foothold there. From there, the Americans would stage an "incident", as OMI often did, then claim it was the works of Southern Cyprus. Total war would be unleashed on the Southern half-and the island would be American. Quickly simple.
Frist, nevertheless, dispatched a return message to the GGA and WEF detailing the plan as the forces prepared were setting off from Norfolk Base.
Addressed to the GGA and WEF
The Office of Military Intelligence has discovered terrorist ploys in Northern Cyprus-held by Turkish sympathizers, a group included with Estereich. With this being so, the Republic will be supporting the actions of the GGA in the area by aiding Southern Cyprus in their long struggle against the North-a now-known terror hotbed. Global terror shall be eradicated-and the free world shall live in peace and harmony. Together, both the Entente and the TA can work out this problem of Eastern Europe.
-Bill Frist
Chancellor, NAR
And all the while, Area 51 put movements into motion...
The LHD group and CVBG deployed that night, moving out into the Atlantic on course for the Mediterranean as thousands of miles Southwest, artillery shells continued to pummel six Central American cities near the American border. The Republic was going global with this conflict.

Is there any way we can peacefully get these lands? We are willing to drop control of the Bosphorous if necessary and up the price.
SECRET MESSAGE TO: Bill Frist
We are glad to see that you have decided to support our cause against terror, and hopefully strengthen ties between our two alliances. We offer our full support against Cyrpus, unless this is some strange excuse to get a foothold in Europe, and we hope you can do the same against our crusade against the terror ridden Yugoslavian nations. We should put our difference aside to fight these governments of terror.

Swamps of troops marched slowly across the border, heading towards the borders of Croatia. The troops that were too help the GGA, some 35,000, were being flown in to save time, and the navy was already heading towards the shore of Greece to help defeat there main naval power. This was all mobilization, preparation for war - but if this could not be sorted out diplomatically, they wanted to be ready to attack immediatly.
Troops flooded the borders of the UK, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Iceland and France for protection. For once it seemed the world was united on a conflict, though they were all in it for there own gains, and the WEF could never be so sure they were safe.
OOC: Usually I wouldn't be so happy about the NAR taking Cyrpus, it puts us in danger if the Entente and the TA clash, but we value your support. If the guy who owns Yugoslavia doesn't come on, I'll TG him, and if that further fails someone can RP him. I plan to take Croatia shortly after the GGA starts theirs against the KoE, so someone needs to respond to my first statement to Yugoslavia soon about whether he wants to sort this out diplomatically or by force.

The forces already out were soon joined by a second force, the final of Norfolk's carrier groups (with the base's first three in the Carribean as Bush, Vinson, and Enterprise, the Kitty Hawk here), the CVBG of the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Two more carrier groups remained for the Atlantic fleet, stationed in Jacksonville still-the CVBGs of the Abraham Lincoln and Dwight D. Eisenhower. Carriers George Washington, Ronald Reagan, Harry Truman, John Stennis, and Nimitz were all in the Pacific fleet.
The LHD group of the USS Wasp also joined up, coming with the Roosevelt group-totalling now two LHD groups and two CVBGs. The Republic forces meant business.
A communication was sent out to Southern Cyprus-one claiming aid for their long-time struggle against the Turkish forces of Northern Cyprus.
Addressed to the Government of Cyprus
Your fight that has been going on for years against Northern Cyprus will be answered. Two groups of Republic ships are en route to engage the Northern Cyprus forces to finally unite the country under your control-and through this, to eradicate the terrorist-laden Northern threat.
We will land in the northern parts of Southern Cyprus and cross the border to smash the Northern forces that have long plagued your nation by claiming the North as a seperate entity.
-ORN
In reality, a twisted game was being played with the Southern Cyprus government...but the Republic, in all parts except for OMI, was totally sincere. Nothing else about the operation was yet known.

Three large barges, meant for cargo, were secretly being loaded up with Naval Infantry and BMP-2's. A few BTR-80's and BTR-90's were also being loaded on to hold more important troops. On the deck, very large wooden crates were being loaded on deck. Inside were small howitzers and Triple-A guns, ready to be broken open and thrust into use from the decks of the barges. The Baltic Task Force stopped their treck to Istanbul and laid anchor in the sea.

We are disappointed that you have not admitted your part in these attacks, and your area has long been too quiet in Europe to be trusted. It seems you are part of a circle of countries including the USSM, Angola and the KoE that have had evidence found against them which all heads back to the terrorist attack in Havana. You must have joined together in some twisted alliance to damage Cuba.
We however do not wish to damage your country and hurt your people, so we will say again - surrender now and open diplomatic talks or ground forces will commence an invasion into your countries.
The Skys Over Varaždin - 22:30
It was the first night of what was probably to be many long nights of bombings on Croatia. Aeronautica Militare (Italian AirForce) planes loomed into the cities airspace to launch the first attack, hopefully a sign to the government of Croatia that they meant business - this was the last signal that they had a chance to sort things out diplomatically.
The planes, AMX-ATA and Eurofighter Typhoon's, had been given targets to hit the known construction and metal industries of the city, and avoid civilian areas. They worked quickly, using the fact these planes were hard to detect to their advantage, as they knew if they left it to long the Croatians would be upon them. And so they reached their targets and they swarmed over the industrial areas of the city, picking out where they would fire and...
A barrage of missiles hit the city floor. Soon, most of their targets were in flames, and the industrial area of the city glowed red in the vision of the rest of Varaždin. The planes swiftly turned home, their operation complete - little to none civilian deaths most probably, but the metal and construction works damaged, and a warning sent out to Croatia.

FINAL MESSAGE TO: The States Of Yugoslavia
We know of the actions of your Government, as does the international community, so do not try and convince us otherwise. But – we may be willing to making a compromise here. We wish to get this conflict over and done with, we have further plans for our future – but we have a diplomatic offer for you.
If you are willing to completely surrender the lands of Croatia and Bosnia – and allow us safe passage into Greece, we may leave you with the countries of Serbia and Montenegro. Trust me, you should carefully consider this offer – if you do not, it is likely you could loose the whole alliance of nations you own – if you surrender these countries peacefully we can eventually possibly return them if we expand enough, and at least leave you with some land. Consider it, or we will invade.

The Empire of Futuris
20km from the Island of Crete
The great ships of the Marina Militare (Italian Navy) launched into the seas as they slowly trudged through the water. This operation was huge, and had even called upon the Flagship of their navy, the Giuseppe Garibaldi, the only Italian Aircraft Carrier, to fight in the Operation to take the Island. The ship would lay low as not to be engaged by enemy forces – and it’s calling upon was mostly to boost moral, as it seemed unlikely it would even leave Italian ports if the Americans sent one to assist during there invasion of Cyprus.
Greece had many troops for a nation of its size due to conscription, though they were not loyal enough to be deemed real threats. Though the main target of this Operation was the island of Crete, which could be taking in a few sly moves, and provide a port and land so the WEF could gather and decide on its operations against the Balklands, Greece and Turkey. A message had been sent out to Crete simply saying “Surrender now or prepare to lose your lands with force.”
Troops stationed their equalled probably only a few thousand if that and so over 30,000 men of the Italian Military had been prepared for the invasion as they boarded the troop’s transporters. The navy was a few miles from the island, and on the bay the plan was that the troops would arrive on the Western side of the island, somewhere near the town of Loutro - which they would them marched into. They hoped by this point the Greeks would surrender the island and try to open up diplomatic relations to keep the rest of the lands, but if this did not happen they would progress to takeover the whole island.
The small troop ships left for the shore, as the first ground invasion of the War on the Balklands began. No doubt somewhere a Greek diplomat was trying his best to find a way how they could get out of this situation, or, worse for both sides, the Hellenic Navy was preparing itself for battle.
OOC: The troop number is not official, and my plans are vague though secret. Sorry this was brief, though more detailed will be added. AB, if you want to support my mobilization of forces around Greece, please do so now. And to whoever is RP Greece, Wagdog me thinks, well, I have started it.
Near a Beach Of Western Southern Crete
The sea air danced around the faces of the stern, determined, but in the true style of the WEF, still flamboyant soldiers. The first batches of soldiers to land on the beach were a mere few hundred metres away, and soon they would launch onto the beaches in a D-Day type scenario. But it is the troops on Cyprus that would surrender and be shocked not them.
They had seen the troops coming, and suspected a small spy mission against the island. Though, as around one hundred armed men gathered they saw that the troop transporters increased in number as they went through the misty horizon. They sat there still under the orders of there Generals, though it seemed they are outnumbered hundreds to one. They knew at that point Crete was lost, whilst many thought they would start heading through Croatia and continue onto Greece they had launched a surprise attack on the island, which to the WEF knowledge was to be the base of their fight against Greece.
Two Hours Later, Inside the Town of Loutro
The citizens of the town stared outside their windows, gathered at the side of the street, and halted their car travels to see what was going on. It seemed as if thousands of troops had marched into the centre of the town, blaring messages that were only audible as they grew closer to the centre:
“Do not fear citizens of Crete, we have come to rid you of your government that dabbles in terrorism. We are here to bring peace against their anti-Western ways, and to change your society so you are not oppressed by them. None of you will be mistreated, and the Island is soon to be officially in the people’s hands, Europe’s hands. Please refrain from blocking the roads.”
It had begun. Another message had been sent to Greece simply stating “We have taken a small area of Crete, and we our expanding with little opposition. It is ours basically, so surrender it and open up diplomatic relations if you wish to discuss terms for the rest of the country. We have captured some of your men, though they remain safe in captive and will be return as they showed no hostilities.”
OOC: Whoever is RPing Greece – you’ll defiantly want to start now…

We can make a move on Cyprus-however, we need to see the first move that the Greecians and Balkan people make first. With the WEF moving down, the NAR naval armada is planning on drawing out and destroying the Greek navy-and we can't be left divided if they come.

Your assistance in these times of war is greatly welcomed, especially in helping disarm the Greek navy, whilst we concentrate on ground offensives now that Crete is nearly taken. We can offer you little in return, especially with your recent scrapping of the invasion of Cyprus, though will support you at least politically in any other justifiable wars you are preparing to commit.

Not enough time to do Greece, that'll need to wait until tomorrow afternoon since I need to hit work from 9A-3P EDT. However, we can get Yugoslavia moving; and I really love Dirik's timeline not having the same sort of civil war, since now I get all-or-most of Old Yugoslavia's arsenal he he he...:p
Yugoslavia
Rather than wait for the WEF to kill them piecemeal, as the earlier raid on Varaždin indicated they intended, it was decided that the entire Yugoslav People's Army Air Force would move out to raid Aviano Air Base in Italy. The plan was brutally simple: all 14 combat-capable MiG-29s would fly in a broadly-distributed BARCAP, only acting when WEF forces intervened against the real threat, the 165 J-22 Orao fighters either going after the main tarmac with BL-755 cluster bombs to smash any alert airframes and kill maintenance personnel, or else hunting SAMs in partnership with the precious few IJ-22 recon Oraos moving to prowl the Italian skies seeking out troop massings for the YPA to counter.
Already, what armored and mechanized brigades could be spared were mobilizing northwest for a "meeting engagement;" most equipped with at least passable M-84A or -84AB "upgraded T-72 clones", and a precious few in the vanguard packing Croatian-designed M-95 Degmans instead for a greater punch; artillery being mostly towed and infantry vehicles being all somewhat aged, but still passable like the tanks at least if used properly. Behind them, the light and mountain brigades both active and territorial were mobilizing for defensive operations. The enemy would find a vastly more formidable enemy than they obviously expected, and beyond that there was no room for premature hope.
The have shown that they CANNOT listen to reason, nor see how bloated they already are. If they must come for what I have built with my people's hands and their blood during the Troubles, then LET THEM COME I SAY! Nikolas Zevon could only barely contain the rage within as he wrote a statement which should coincide upon delivery with the first strikes reaching Italy.
To the Western European Federation,
You dare to attack MY people on THEIR land at Varaždin, and yet you talk of peace? You threaten US with occupation and death unless we confess to charges we had NO role in, and yet you talk of peace? NO MORE! You may call me mad, but this is not madness; this is Yugoslavia! If you want us, you shall simply have to take us; that is, after we've struck for your throat ourselves, as is only proper when dealing with such imperialist scum.
Most Sincerely,

FINAL MESSAGE TO: The States Of Yugoslavia
We thought this would be our final message - but your reaction has worried us. Already we have offered you a dealing which allowed you to keep at least some of your land, but you throw it back in our faces - unless you accept this deal, in the next time you correspond to us - we will invade your countries, bomb your cities, and from many directions.
"We know of the actions of your Government, as does the international community, so do not try and convince us otherwise. But – we may be willing to making a compromise here. We wish to get this conflict over and done with, we have further plans for our future – but we have a offer for you.
We simply before were going to give you two of your countries, but now your reaction has worried us - and so, surrender, and you may help us govern them. Don't, and...
"
- Commissioner for Defence, François Chirac
It was time to show Croatia they meant business. Many were worried, they had taken the last warning very badly, and airplanes were being ditected over the skies progressing into Italy. What they would likely face is a larger superior force of Italian planes, all airborne and ready unless they were stealthy - and how stealthy can you be around an air base. It would be death to them, the most damage they could do is with the lose of a couple of plans. When they arrived, the Italian air force hoped to wipe out most of the Croatians 'good' planes.
Meanwhile, a seven day bombardment operation began - there leader was a crackpot, and it would probably not help things, but the WEF had to make it clear there threats were not empty. For one full week, in Operation: Black Smoke, the cities of the areas of Varaždin, Koprivnica-Križevci and Bjelovar-Bilogora counties would suffer massive bomb raids against the areas plentiful industrial towns, where the construction industry and weapons manufacturing areas would be targeted the most. The WEF knew if occupation came it would be harder to rebuild to a high standard quickly, if they bombed these areas, but they had to strike fear into this leaders fearful heart.
And so they moved in. Tens of thousands of troops progressed into the most Northern Point of Croatia. They also began lining troops on the borders of Serbia, encase they did not accept their proposal. They only went a few miles in and sat as a threat, but this was a clear indication they were serious.

The F-4 II Phantoms continued on their path to the GGA base. Below them, sirens were screaming and lights were flashing. As they neared the GGA base, the sky erupted into color. The first round of defenses, 10 AA batteries and 5 more SAM sites all began firing. The bullets in the AA guns were tracers, and helped to reveal the postions of the aircraft. At one of the SAM sites, PFC George Klassentreff was preparing to fire. "Corporal, I got a lock! Requesting permission to fire!"
"Roger, fire at will! Repeat, all batteries fire at will!"
A missile left the first SAM site and began smoking towards the first plane.
The Corporal then relayed on to HQ "Hotel Quebec, this is Foxtrot Kilo Niner, do you read me? We have made contact with 10 enemy planes - Requesting air support."
"Foxtrot Kilo Niner, this is Hotel Quebec, we read you loud and clear. Air support granted. Scrambling 2 squadrons (5 planes per squadron) of JAS 39 Gripens, and 1 squadron of JAS 40 Gripens."
"Roger that. Over and out."
Meanwhile, the KoE forces were advancing through the recently vacated hole in the GGA border. A flash of lightening streaked through the sky, giving away the KoE troops. After waiting what seemed like an eternity, the GGA troops recieved orders to fire. Off to the left of the KoE troops, a large flash of light garnered attention. A smoke trail led to the lead Leopard A4 (ooc: I checked it out, KoE has the shitty versions, not the good ones). Only one weapon had a back blast that size. The GGA had brought AT-4's to play with. Within a minute, the area was lit with the fire of these AT-4's, interspersed with some Panzerfaust 3's. In that time, the Leopards also opened fire. These were no wimpy Leopard A4's, they were the real deal, or Leopard A6's. Interspersed with these tanks were Jaguar 2's, fearsome tank destroyers, and Pumas. The Pumas opened fire on the unprotected KoE infantry, and the Jaguar 2's unleashed hell on the tanks of the KoE. Only two more pieces of the puzzle were left, and one was about to be put in place. Located a good distance from the battle, 10 M270 MLRS did not open fire. It was too risky, they thought, and might cause friendly fire deaths. Besides, they reasoned, this was not their purpose here anyways. They were there to barrage cities before troops moved in. The only remaining piece was the infantry. Hidden away within bunkers, they were under strict orders not to emerge until the tanks of the KoE were under controll. AT-4 handlers and Snipers, however, were set up with vantage points looking down upon the KoE forces. The battle was going well.
SIC:
Eric Richtoff was sitting in the bunker, mulling over his problems. The KoE was putting up a bigger fight than he anticipated, but he knew he could handle it. He called in General Klischten and his subordinates. "The KoE has commited many of their forces to this attack. After we destroy the attack, we will hold a dominating position with our forces. We will then be able to break the KoE's back. I want more troops commited to this war, raising our active total to be around 550,000. The KoE will not be able to win. Thus, we should send them a letter offering surrender. If they refuse, we will destroy them. If they accept, we will have won. Prepare a task force of 2,000 soldiers. Make sure they are all UberInfantry. They will be taking down Cyprus, as the NAR has now handed us that burden."

A large fishing trawler slowly was unmoored from a dock in Istanbul. It made its way into the Sea of Marmara. Once in the middle of the sea, out of all known shipping routes and far enough away to discourage most fishermen. The men on the trawler slowly began their work. They were to be a crucial part of the attack on the KoE, and they had their plans laid out. Stored under the deck were enough MRE's (Meal Ready to Eat) to feed them for three months. They went into the Command hatch, a large room, and slowly constructed a small satellite dish. They then removed all the old communication equipment. Underneath it was sparkling new communications equipment. Within 2 hours, a normal fishing trawler had been transformed into a state-of-art communications center. The men left the hutch and began their normal fishing routines. To anyone else, it would have seemed that the trawler was a normal fishing ship, if just a little too far out. Meanwhile, a stowaway (known by sailors, unknown to the port authorities) climbed out of the smuggling hatch. He walked out of the crew quarters (where the smuggling hatch is located) and walked into the newly created comm center. He sat down at a swivel chair and began his work.
The first thing he did was send a message back to headquarters in Berlin throught a secure German Satellite (thus the dish). "Hotel Quebec, this is Delta X-Ray Zero, ready to Rock and Roll. Over and out."

Over GGA Territory
"SAMs! Evasive manuevers!"
The ten F-4s banked, cutting away as flares and chaffs shot out from the planes to distract the missiles. One of the F-4s banked around, acquiring a lock on one of the SAM radar depots-taking out one would mean the disabling of up to four missile launchers.
"Echo 3, Fox 2!" called the pilot, as an AGM-88 HARM blasted off the left outboard hardpoint of the Phantom. The F-4 banked hard again, loosing another flare right before a SAM came in-leading the missile astray by mere luck.
"They're getting hot, I c-AWHHh!" called in one of the pilots, "Echo 8, Punching out!"
The F-4 pilot smashed on the eject button as flames plumed out from the engine well of the Phantom-the SAM had hit the left tailfin, scaling shrapnel into the exhaust duct. The pilot seat flew up as the cockpit exploded off, sending the pilot into the sky-a parachute deployed seconds later, over hostile territory.
"Echo flight, carry around and launch ordinance," Echo lead called in.
The nine remaining fighters banked hard, acquiring SAM radars and Triple A mobiles.
"Echo 2, Fox 1."
"Echo 6, Fox 2."
"Echo 5, Fox 1."
Five HARMS and eight AGM-65 Mavericks flew off hardpoint rails of the Phantoms as the jets manueverd to escape from the territory, afterburners hot.
On the Ground
The KoE forces now began to move backwards-but not in a retreat, more like "Advancing in the rear direction." Firing while moving backwards, the T-72 tanks, Leopard A4s, and T-80s opened a ripping salvo at the GGA armor and infantry-though leaving several dozen of their comrades on the field. RPG-7 armed infantry fired rockets at tanks, while infantry with rifles and submachine guns opened fire at pursuing GGA infantry. They closed with the border to the KoE, maintaining order and returning as much fire as they gave.
From across the border in KoE-controlled Romania, Scud-D launchers began firing out Scuds at GGA military installations and supply depots-about 70 missiles flying forth from the mobile launchers, protected in bunkered-down positions supplemented by static defense. From the border, Leopard2A4 tanks began blazing fire at the GGA pursuers as the main force began backing up to the fortified border along a wide front. M60 Pattons fired from behind concrete and earth cover, while ATACMS units began launching rockets from distance over the heads of the rear-advancing expeditionary force. M113 TOW APCs began firing TOW missiles while deploying troops at the border, reinforcing across the line from the GGA forces to tear hell as soon as the expeditionary force crossed back into KoE turf.

A SAM radar depot exploded in a mass of flames. Three SAM sites were now out of the fight. Meanwhile, 3 AA batteries were also crippled by the attack. The F-4's were moving out of range, but the AA guns and remaining 2 SAM batteries fired off a few more salvos. They then radioed back to HQ and passed the F-4's on to the second line of AA guns and SAM sites. In between, however, the Gripens should intercept them, one soldier thought.
PLANES:
The Gripens were now all in the air. In all, there were 15 planes moving to intercept the enemy. Slowly, the F-4's moved in onto the radar. The Gripens held the advantage of suprise, so the squads split up, moving two of the squadrons out to the side to flank the enemy fighters.
BORDER:
The GGA could not have asked for the KoE to do more. They were taking losses, sure, but the unprotected KoE forces were falling at a much higher rate. Now that the KoE troops were in a clearly defined line, the M270 MLRS opened fire on them. Behind the GGA troops, in the cover of a forest, 15 Eurocopter Tigers lifted off. They were being sent in to provide air support to the GGA troops. Suddenly, a barrage of SCUD hit the bunkers that the infantry were in. The bunkers absorbed much of the hit, but numerous infantry were hurt. The GGA saw the KoE troops reinforcing their lines, and ordered a quick shelling of it from their PzH 2000's. Then, a barrage of ATACAMS hit the GGA left, taking out a grouping of Leopard Pz87s. The GGA troops were all firing, knowing that soon the KoE would make a mistake, allowing the GGA soldiers to crush them.

A New Front:
Along the borders of Iran, where Silvado (now GGA) troops had been mobilizing for the past few weeks, a message was being passed.
الجهاد اصبح علينا! بدء الاحتلال! تطهير الارض من الكفر العراقي
(OOC: Jihad has come upon us! Begin the invasion! Cleanse the land of the Iraqi infidels!)
The new GGA Troops formed up. They did not care that they were being ruled by someone else. The time would come for that to be ended. Now was the time to strike, and strike hard on the heathen of Iraq. Years of hatred in this region had produced emotions unmatched. These men would fight to the bitter end. Meanwhile, a message was sent to the KoE.
KoE - Surrender while there is still hope!
We in the GGA offer you mercy. Our forces have you surrounded. If you surrender now, we will treat you just as we did the land of Iran. If not, we will crush you. You have a choice. The offer is on the table. Take it or leave it.
A similar message was went to Kuwait
We have you surrounded. While your leaders may not surrender, you do not have to listen to them. Break away, and surrender while there is hope. Thus you will save your land and your people from numerous attacks. You will be treated fairly-As a member of the GGA, as opposed to an enemy. I repeat to you-surrender while there is still hope.

Air
The F-4s continued burning for the border-Mig-29s and some Sukhois were already airborne, as were AH-1 Cobra attack helos.
Ground
The MLRS fire was all across the line, stretching out and reaching into the fortified positions of the infantry and armor-though it was the worst of the attack. The expeditionary force of the KoE breached the border-and when they did, a tremendous roar went up. The entire border line of the Estereich armor exploded with shells blazing across the line towards the onrushing GGA forces, explosive and kinetic shells flying. ATACMS launchers fired a second volley, rockets blazing from their launchers.
Air was already up from bases behind the border. Su-27s flew in hot, reaching transonic speeds as the acquired the enemy helos in missile locks. Aphid AAMs blew off, the short-range air-to-air missiles flying forth to engage the helos. The Flanker-Bs shot up into the air, initiating manuevers to evade locks by any GGA SAM artillery on the ground. Cobras were in the air across the fortified line, shooting Hellfire and Penguin ASMs down at the enemy armor and infantry groups.
Machine gun fire from bunkers and makeshift pillboxes exploded across the line as tracers lit up the night in a myriad of reds, yellows, and oranges. The bullets cut across the border and on towards the GGA side, raking across the lines of infantry of the GGA.
The WEF General. Mark Ronson felt sorry for the GGA. Reports had been flooding in with news of their war, and although they had a good chance of winning it - the war would be costly, very costly - they were facing over 600,000 Turkish troops at least, not including other nations of the KoE.
But now the KoE would have another issue to dealing with - the WEF were attacking them from their minor assaults in Croatia, and now on their very own land. Well, to be exact, for now, sea. They were to hit the F-450 Elli, one of the Greeks most powerful, leading ships in there navy. Reports had come in that it was in port at Gytheio, once a major port until destruction by Earthquake, observing the operations in Crete whilst most of the other ships lay around the capital of Athens. There were also reports of another, smaller, Elli class frigate being on patrol with it. If the WEF could destroy one or two major Greek vessels, it would help the task the NAR had ahead of them greatly - and give a quite easy route to Athens for them.
Over The Seas Near Greek Port of Gytheio
And so the airs filled up with planes, MX-ATA and Eurofighter Typhoon's mostly. There first target was HS Kanaris, the less important of the two ships - they knew that this would make the operation harder as F-450 Elli would be aware of what was happening, and any surprise would be lost - but they thought it best to leave the harder battle till later. Two of Italians own naval ships were heading towards the area for support if the operation failed.
Four swept down low in the sky to attack HS Kanaris. It was hoped by the WEF that this port and area would be where the first troops would land, whilst the bulk of the navy dealt with the NAR threat.
"Missile Ready to fire...over." The message was sent to all of the planes.
"Commence fire in one, two, three..launch!"
Though the first missile launched by the planes was prevented and destroyed by the anti-missile system, and now the ship was ready to defend. Anti-air missiles and firing bullets were thrown into the air, and to the shock of the WEF Italian Airforce, one of the planes was soon engulfed in smoke, and in front of their eyes they lost a friend.
"Second missile ready to fire...over"
"Commence fire...just launch!"
The missile fired flawlessly directly at HS Kanaris, smashing into its west wing, causing a massive explosion, with the damage hidden by the smoke. Many of the planes had now broken off from this operation to move on to the F-450 Elli, whilst a few remained preparing to launch another attack on the wounded ship.
"Let's hit it again..."

The Gripens saw the F-4's returning. This could only mean one thing - reinforcements. The first squadron leader called back to HQ "Hotel Quebec, this is Romeo 1, enemy is fleeing. Likely destination unknown. Likely cause is reinforcements. Request to scramble all air wings nearby."
"Roger that, Romeo 1. Request Granted. Scrambling all nearby air wings."
Meanwhile the First squadron engaged the Su-27's. They went in with their Mausers blazing, all the while trying to acquire locks on the Su-27's. The squadron leader got one. "Missile away", he yelled, as a AIM-9 Sidewinder shot off one of his wingtips.
Ground
The GGA was taking losses from the KoE expiditionary force. Somehow, they managed to match the amazing rate of fire that the KoE troops were firing at. This time the ATACMS launchers were less effective. They landed amidst a group of Wolf jeeps waiting to carry soldiers across the border.
3 helos blew up from the Su-27 missiles. They began engaging the enemy Cobras, firing as fast as their weapons systems would let them.
Then, a new force arrived from the rear. It was the first detachment of one of the GGA armored divisions that had been in Slovenia. These were some of the newest tanks, Leopard 2E's. They opened fire with a massive roar in an attempt to push the KoE troops back on their side of the border. Once again, the M270 MLRSs opened fire on the KoE lines. This time, however, they concentrated on KoE armor, firing AT2's, missiles also equipped with 28 anti-tank mines.

"Gripens-evasive manuevers."
The Flanker Bs broke off, chaffs and flares shooting out across the night sky. The short-range AIM-9 Sidewinders came flying in like harbingers of Hell, streaking across the night sky, their wispy tails of smoke lit up by the triple A and explosions flying on both sides of the border.
"I've got one on me, I can't evade!"
"Break low, lead it off."
The flight's third fighter bore low, trying to evade two sidewinders that were homing in on the plane's IR presence. One indeed did miss-spiraling into the ground as the pilot pulled up 300m away. The other, a bit further away, was able to close with the jet-and pummeled into the Sukhoi's right engine. Fire spewed out as the American-made missile bore its explosive charge into the core of the jet. Shrapnel spat across the GGA border as the Flanker B erupted in a conflagration of orange death.
"Avenge our brothers! Death to the Fascists!"
The remaining Sukhois-2 had been downed, with 1 pilot ejecting safely as his plane broke up-formed up again and began targeting the fourth-stage fighters that were coming clear on long-distance radar. The Flanker Bs had been designed to combat the American F-16s and F-14s-the Gripens were little different from the Fighting Falcons in terms of overall capabilities.
"Zulu 11, Fox 1."
An Alamo AAM burst off the rightmost pylon of Zulu flight's 11th fighter, a plume of white smoke trailing into the nigt as the missile jetted off, targeting a Gripen.
"Zulu 1, Fox 2."
"Zulu 4, Fox 1."
"Zulu 7, Fox 1."
Alamo and Archer AAMs flew off the Flanker racks of missiles, as the vehicles sped closer to the flying wraiths, preparing another round of missiles.
Ground
Several AAMs from the Eurocopters slammed into three Cobras, bringing the helos down with full loss of life. The others responded fast-several AIM-9 sidewinders pulsed out from the Cobras, streaking out at the Eurocopters. The F-4s, with the Gripens now focused on the Flanker B flight already up, were now free to make a run at the Eurocoptes. AIM-7 Sparrows blasted off the Phantoms, streaking across from behind the GGA border fortifications, aiming towards the Eurocopters.
As the MLRS systems began wreaking another batch of Hell down on the armored lines, the ATACMS systems-still well behind the frontal line of Leopard 2s and T-80s that made up the front line opened another salvo-this time with the guidance of several Cobras that were in the process of sighting for the rocket launchers. Rockets blasted off the ATACMS units, aiming towards the location of the MLRSs spotted by the computers of the cobras. They arced into the sky, then began their trip down, through the warm May night air.
As the GGA armor began taking up positions, the first salvo from the enemy Leopard 2s raked through the T-80s of the front, blowing into the armor of the first few tanks and shredding several of the Leopard 1s of the KoE forces. M107 self-propelled artillery, stationed along the border, began ripping out mortar fire and explosive shells-along with several firing white phosphorous directly after explosive shells meant to penetrate the GGA bunkers that opposed the KoE fortified border. The fortresses, stationed with M115 203mm towed artillery, began blazing open a massive fire of their large shells, attempting to crack open the bunkers.
In the air, more planes began assembling. The KoE AF was one of the best air forces around, and their Fighting Falcons were a testament from that-the best they could've bought from the US air force back in the early '80s. The Fighting Falcons were divided into two flights-one for Strike duties, the other for Superiority. Racked out with AMRAAMs and Sidewinders, the F-16Ds began targeting some of the Gripens as they hugged low to the ground, supplemented by SA-18 SAMs flying up from the ground.
The Strike-outfitted F-16Ds began targeting tanks and artillery pieces-specifically the troublesome M-270s not targeted by the ATACMS units. AGM-65B Maverick Missiles began flying from the Falcons, blasting off towards the armored units targeted. The flight shot overhead the GGA forces at low altitude to evade SAM targeting, dumping CBU-105 cluster bombs and GBU-10 Paveway bombs.
Behind the lines of the KoE, C-130 Hercules and C-160 aircraft, brought in as soon as the incursion by the KoE forces had been forced to begin a tactical retreat began to bring in reinforcements. Leopard 2s, T-80s, former Turkish M270s, M60s, M113 TOWs, and M117s. The KoE intended to make it, if not a total GGA loss, than at least one devestating enough to make front-page headlines on every paper across the world.

3 miles off the shore of Istanbul, KoE
Three huge barges, with fake registration to the CAmE, chugged into the Bosporus Strait in Istanbul. Belowdecks, final landing preparations were being made. Ten miles out, a contingent of the Black Sea Fleet readied Mi-24s and Mi-28s for aerial cover of the city. three Yak-141's were also prepared for launch. Two of the barges pulled up to one side of the strait while the other moved in on the vacant side. They docked, then waited for the order to charge was given.
OOC: The Caucuses are less of a concern, though Istanbul will be contested heavily, trust me. Surprise will get you somewhere, but once word gets out...well, look at my last post against the GGA forces.

The man in the Fishing trawler immediately began work. He was perhaps the most important man in the mission, yet noone except HQ knew he existed. From his location, he was to coordinate the attacks of the GGA navy, most notably the raids on shipping. It was time to resort to the good old days, when navies mercilessly boarded merchant ships leaving the ports of the enemy. Soon to join him would be 5 visby corvettes, one of the stealthiest ships in the world, as well as several smaller craft, equipped only with AA guns. These craft were to shoot down any "non-commercial flights" entering or leaving Istanbul. The radio op in the trawler determined if the plane was fair game. These missions, while seemingly of little importance, would drastically aid the GGA's cause by bringing the Turkish economy to a standstill.
Aboard the Visby Corvettes were Stormtroopers, the elite of the elite in the German army. They could meld into the night, and reappear as well as any force in the wrld. These soldiers, however, were wearing no identifying clothing or armor, and used common small machine guns with silencers. These troops could board a ship, plant explosives, and be off in less than 5 minutes. They knew their task, and were ready to accomplish it.
OOC: Well, looks like you have a lot on your plate AB. So, when you can RP your attack on the Greek navy.
Currently I’m bombing the hell out of Northern Croatia’s industrial areas, progressing onto Serbia, have troops in Northern Croatia – have invaded Crete, and I’m attacking naval forces in an area of Greece I plan to launch troops into.

Istanbul, KoE
The night was quiet...too quiet for the residents of Istanbul. not too much had been heard out of the ordinary that night, just like the last few nights. But that was all about to change. On each of the barges, the foghorns blared out across the night.
"Move! Move!" Shouted the invasion commander over the intercom. On the deck, large metal ramps were dropped from the deck to the ground, allowing the Naval Infantry on board to spill off and raid the nearby streets. BMP-2's and BMP-3's rolled off the ship onto the street and began to make rapid moves outwards. The boxes above deck were broken open, revealing the howitzers and mortars inside them bolted to the deck. Man-packed SAM launchers were brought on deck and readied for an air strike if it came.
Meanwhile, off the shore, ten Mi-24's and 14 Mi-28's took off and began their move into Istanbul. The three Yak-141's fired up their VTOL engines and moved over Istanbul.
The Naval Infantry started raiding buildings within four blocks of the landing zone and throwing any occupants out on the street. Soldiers threw up rapid barricades made of dressers, flipped cars, chairs, mailboxes, and anything else they could get their hands on to prevent a counterattack on the LZ. A few police officers patrolling the area pulled up their squad car and confronted a squad of soldiers.
"Put your hands in the air and drop your weapons!" yelled one of the officers.
One of the soldiers raised his AK-103 and fired the underbarrel GBU-40 at the car. It hit and exploded, killing one of the officers and sending the other two rolling on the floor. The rest of the soldiers opened up and killed the officers, finishing the job. Several windows opened up with curious Turks peering out the windows. "Retcha!" yelled one of the soldiers as he raised his gun at the civs. THey scurried back into the buildings as they fired on the windows. This was the scene in most of Istanbul at the time.

Beirut, Transjordan
Commander Muammar Ahmet stood in the command bunker observing the tactical situation. He knew Transjordan would lose, but he also knew that he could bring up a major unconventional war against their forces.
"I want defenses laid up around Beirut and Amman. It is imperative that we allow as many Anti-Air assets to move into the two cities as possible to hold out and prepare for the post-war insurgency. We need full propaganda and broadcasts running daily, telling people to never surrender. Finally, we need to call in the martyrs. Their sacrifice will boost morale, a commodity we can't go without."
All armed forces and reserves were called up, and any willing citizens were armed with surplus weapons and improvised arms.

So the invasion began. The might of the EF military machine began its onslaught on Transjordan at Al 'Aqabah, a city very close to the border. Over 200 tanks began to trudge through the vast desert-like terrain - Sho'ts, M-60's, T-72's, and Merkava 3's and 4's. They covered the distance in no time, and were soon within shooting distance of the farthest outposts of the city. There, they waited for the rest of the army to appear. Hours later, the 2S1's and 2S3's began to set up. Infantry crowded around, and about 1,500 APC's and light combat vehicles created a nexus of military activity. Anti-air was set up quickly, and a perimeter was secured.
A squadron of MiG 23's flew over the makeshift camp, the rumble of the engines vibrating through the desert. They raced towards the city, getting closer with each second. Suddenly, they veered away, and looked as if about to turn back.
"Echo 4-19, over"
"Echo 4-12, I hear you"
"Commencing attack on city"
"Echo 4-12, commencing attack on city"
"Echo 4-19, over and out"
Two of the MiG 23's broke away from the squadron and did a sideways loophole maneuver which put them heading straight towards the city. The rest of the squadron retreated past the army, towards the airfield by the border. Their job done, the pictures of the city taken, they could now plan targets for the artillery.
OOC: Since you're really massing in Amman in Jordan, the city should be basically unprepared. The two MiG 23's flying in will be an awakening call - I want to see what they have for air defense first though before I call on my air force. I guess it's up to you how the city will hold - do what you think is realistic.

The two MiG 23's flying in will be an awakening call - I want to see what they have for air defense first though before I call on my air force. I guess it's up to you how the city will hold - do what you think is realistic.
Unfortunately for Al 'Aqabah, the only units there at the time were two infantry companies and a group of close to 240 conscript fighters. They began to hurriedly warn the residents of the city to assist in the effort by setting up road blocks in order to funnel the Futuran forces into several main paths. Each roadblock was assigned five civs to guard, armed with AKMS's and RPG-7's. A central command center was set up in the city's mosque where the infantry commander awaited the defense.
OOC: Make your next move wagdog, though I may not reply to it till Sunday.
OOC: Umm, going that far into Croatia (the Serb border) would meet not only resistance, but also works to my advantage. As they say, "Watch your six....":p
IC
Aviano AB, Italy...
The Yugoslavian pilots knew it would be death to them if they continued, but the alternatives were worse. Worse from the enemy, since they knew the WEF would hit them on the ground unless they pulled this off first. The new bombardments just beginning proved that. And worse from their own, since Executor of the People's Will Zevon had made clear that any who did not either fulfill their role in the mission or get shot down doing so would find on returning to Yugoslav lines that their families had been arrested by State Security. A fate soon to be shared by said unfortunates themselves, with swift courts-martial and execution as a traitor likely to follow...
That in mind, the MiG-29s over Italy again kept low and fast, to arrange for a snap-up engagment against any WEF fighters stymied by ground clutter or (preferably) to pick off any trying to take off; those being among the few attack profiles in which their older jets still had an advantage. The hundreds of still-serving MiG-21s remained back home, doing what little they could as interceptors against the raids by Tornados and such. Most managed to get shots off, due to Yugoslavia's comprehensive air defense coverage and the various SAM or AAA batteries giving it teeth as well, but the fights were always confusing and so far some 15 Fishbeds were lost to various forms of enemy action already.
At last, after losing some fifteen of their own, most suppressing the longer-ranged defenses in order for the recon jets to make their BDA run shortly, seventy-five attack Orao's lined up on the tarmac and began loosing their BL755s over the runway and flightline without mercy. Meanwhile, the remaining seventy-five loosed Mavericks at the closer-in air defenses to soften up matters for any surviving jets' follow-on strikes. Per Zevon's personal command, Aviano would burn until either there was no base left for the WEF, or there were no attack jets left for Yugoslavia still capable of the mission.
As the attack Orao's bugged out and the escorted recon jets overflew the battle scene to take their assessment photos, the meager Fulcrum escort began taking R-27 Alamo shots at any enemy fighters trying to take off. Their reasoning, best to inflict a turkey-shoot before having to flee once airborne fighters from other bases crashed the party. It was safer from a tactical perspective, even if perhaps less-courageous than the ideal, and also made for better propaganda once the gun-camera footage got back. As the first strike ended, the Fulcrums too egressed with only one loss to a standing Eurofighter patrol that it's comrades had swatted off with a barrage of R-73 Archers from below to as-yet indeterminate effect.
On the ground, though, the WEF had made its biggest error by far. They had penetrated almost to the Croatian/Serb border, but now the local militia and defensive brigades came out and began swarming the enemy. Meanwhile, the latest M-95 and M-84 equipped tank/mechanized brigades decided to make good of this development, striking hard for the joint near Rijeka/Fiume and Slovenia where the Italian logistics route was anchored. With luck, or barring that with effort even, they could call the WEF on their dare and wipe out the troops they'd so foolishly sent to death in lands that Prince Otto von Bismarck had once called, "Not worth the bones of even one Pomeranian Grenadier..."
OOC: Sorry this is crap, I know nothing about war and weapons etc. if I'm honest, so any details that I've missed - be kind. AB, although Greece is ruled by the KoE, I think it may be best if Wagdog RPs them maybe, as you are attacking?
OOC: Where you've got the Greek Navy is fine by me, b/c concentration's always good. Especially for navies...:D
IC
Off Gytheio, Kingdom of Erstereich-ruled Greece...
The Elli was going to prove a far worthier opponent than its sister had so far; although the Kanaris was still sending 76mm DP rounds and Sea Sparrows at the fighters, reserving it's Phalanx guns for the missiles which (so far) were still being held off aside from the one that had wrecked most of the engine room. The ship could theoretically limp back into port in Scaramangas, near Athens, but for now the Elli would need to cover its sister's withdrawal as best it could.
Hence, yet more 76mm DP rounds arced from both frigates towards the fighters and still further Sea Sparrows; some would probably hit, although damage would surely be difficult to track as always in this frenetic a battle. Even with the damage sustained so far, the WEF were fools to think the Kingdom of Erstereich's Greeks were just going to let their proverbial 'New Byzantium' (OOC: Just comparing the boundaries involved, mind...;)) die so easily. Already, the four MEKO-200HN Hydra class were gathering into their own homogeneous squadron to the north, along with the other eight Elli/Kortenaer class frigates too in two other squadrons. The goal: to round Crete from the East and then South using the mass of older frigates as a flanking arm to devastate the enemy amphibious forces there, while the newer frigates acted as a fixing arm in the West to pin the Italian frigates down with their superior missile and gun power in support of the battle off Gytheio. In short, a naval battle of the like not seen in Europe since World War II was shaping up; straight ship-on-ship fighting, with only shore-based air interfering in the battle's morbid majesty. Such as Greece's scores of Block-50+ F-16s from the 115th Combat Wing were even now against the Eurofighters, for example; or else acting as air cover for the fleet's movements as the mixed Falcons from 111th Combat Wing were...

The government of the Mongolian Republic had sat, silently, watching the world go to hell with barely a word of protest. The Balkans had exploded. The Moroccan situation had barely been defused, only to heat up once again. And now, the Middle East had become yet another potential theatre of war. Enough was enough; Futuris had gone too far, and the government of the Republic had decided to at last make its voice heard again. To that end, President Altangerel had been tasked with writing a letter of condemnation concerning Futuris' actions.
And i'm this damn close to reprimanding the GGA too, the President thought to himself as he wrote the final lines. Ah, well. There wasn't much he could do, after all, beyond strongly-worded statements and the like. And he doubted that they would do much good. He sighed wearily and summoned his secretary to take his now-finished letter to the Foreign Affairs Department for review.
Open Statement of the Mongolian Republic
The Republic strongly condemns the actions of the nation of Futuris in Transjordan. It is despicable that such expansionist and, quite frankly, barbaric actions have been allowed to take place by the world community thus far. The Transjordanian people have every right to self-determination, and they have clearly spoken, with one voice: No. No to the bloodthirsty Empire of Futuris. No to foreign rule and imperialism. The Mongolian people, too, know what it is like to suffer under the yoke of foreign oppression, and we stand in solidarity with the people of Transjordan when we say: No more. Though we, sadly, cannot realistically offer armed support to Transjordan ourselves, we call upon the more-capable powers of the world to halt this monster in its tracks. For we can assure you, it will not be satisfied with these conquests alone. It will spread, like a virus, until all around it has been consumed and transformed into an unwilling part of the autocratic machine. Please, nations of the world: take a stand.
Khoonbish Altangerel
President of the Mongolian Republic
(OOC: Ok, I'm getting my troops out of there to prevent loses. Though, as I don't want to be a crap RP (though my lack of military knowledge makes it so, be kind Wagdog) - I'll say more of mine died than yours in our little skirmishes. Also, I’ll try and wrap up the troops withdrawal (they are still on your borders – I wouldn’t advise attacking them there, unless you want the GGA fully involved too) and the attack on the Italian base.)
The WEF were now angry. These people were plain rude in not replying to there messages, crap at diplomacy but skilled in warfare. The WEF was an army for show not for battles; very few people had died from war there since it was formed years ago. They were for peaceful prevention, using there diplomatic skills already to purchase two countries, and hoping to do so with Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia - whilst taking Greece forcefully. That plan had failed dramatically.
It one swift move massive operations had been set in stone. Tens of thousands of troops located in Croatia had withdrawn as fast as they could of. If they had wanted too, they were sure in there minds they could of removed the threat - but they were surrounded, on the receiving end of a tactical blunder that had cost more lives than many of the army chiefs had expected even if this kind of attack had taken place. Though, all was not lost - few to none of the technology military tanks and various other wonders of the WEF forces had been destroyed, it was mostly manpower that died, over a hundred maybe, with less losses on Yugoslavian side.
The Battle Of The Seas
Three more planes had been destroyed by the surprising beast of a ship that was the Kanaris, and now they would finish it off and change targets. After having missiles deflected numerous times by the well functioning machine, considering its engines were mostly destroyed, a double attack on the central and eastern parts of the ship would hopefully see it wounded to the point where it had to surrender to it's fate sunken in the sea.
"..preparing missiles for firing...let's remove this ship from these godforsaken waters and head for Elli..ready to fire!"
"..ready to fire.." replied the pilot in the second of the attacking planes "One, two, three...fire"
The ship could not handle the attack like it had done the others, and two massive explosions engulfed it externally - the sound of screeching twisting metal exploding from it.
Whilst they circled the ship, celebrating there hopeful victory, the Elli was proving difficult for the other planes as they saw a plane fall into the sea, the pilot hopefully still alive. One missile after another had been launched, but finally one hit, tearing into the left side and providing some hope for the remaining mass of planes.
These were just two problem causing ships – the WEF hoped the NAR would remove the rest, they had enough troubles of there own.
Nearby Waters
A voice was heard over the radio in the waters nearby, a message sent to the three Italian ships that lay nearby "We need assistance - we need assistance in destroying the Elli."
TO: The Yugoslavian States and KoE Government
Surrender Greece, Croatia and Bosnia and we may consider leaving your remaining countries alone. We do not want to see a costly war for both our nations, now, be diplomatic for once. This is very kind from us consider the futile attacks you have performed on an Italian Airbase.
The Battle Of The Air
All but a few outdated and slow to leave planes had left the base, but the destruction the Yugoslavian air force was destroying there beautiful base and these planes – that was what the Italians wished to save. And so, the hundreds of planes that had been rooted from the ground returned the fire of the Yugoslavians brutally. They had been positioned carefully, and from behind a large squadron swarmed in, firing missiles at the backend of the large amount of planes that attack the ground, hitting over a dozen and flying off to prepare for a repeat attack. Then, over 30 planes on either side launched a fierce attack on the west and eastern flanks of the large Yugoslavian airforce, damaging most of them in a fatal swift attack. The problem they now faced, after wiping out a sizeable portion of these attacking planes, is that they had lost there surprise and time for majestic movements, and now it was a proper battle.
The group of F-16 fighters that had attacked the backend of the plane squadron now focused on the other Yugoslavian planes that provided cover for the ones that were attacking the base. They hit them hard as they ran threw in a similar way to before, but from the western side, slamming a barrage of bullets into them mixed with missiles. Though, some surprise had been lost and two F-16’s fell quickly to the attacks the Yugoslavians countered them with. Finally, they attacked these planes again with more of the remainder of the ones they managed to get in the air, around 50 or so also, that began firing on the attackers, attacking and destroying planes left, right and centre, and losing two quickly themselves – but now they had undeterminably taken out a large amount of there force by swift attacks, the hard battle in the air could happen if they did not turn back, and reinforcements from nearby bases would shortly arrive to assist.

Allies, it is good to see that you agree with the Third Alliances general stance on things. We have tried on two occasions to prevent there expansion in Africa, and succeeded once, though due to the unexpected resistance in the Balklands we cannot stop them here, and the time for diplomacy in this world is gone. We hope that our Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere will act if Futuris continues his advances.

The GGA officialy condemns the acts of the Empire of Futuris. While the GGA stood by as the Empire peacefully overtook Tunisa, we can do this no longer. We decree that the Empire must withdraw any troops that it has advancing on Transjordan, and must halt any other attacks on the lands of Lebanon and Jordan. We will not tolerate such imperial movtives any longer. We only hope that the world has sense enough to see these attacks as they are - A juggernaught overpowering a defenseless nation, simply to expand its borders.
SIC to NAR:
Unfortunately, the GGA can no longer stand idly by as the Empire of Futuris continually practices imperialism. Because of our good relations with the NAR, we ask that you either remain neutral or condemn the Empire yourself. While we realize that this may not look well to some, as they are your alliance member, your word truely throws world opinions around. Do not tolerate this foolish imperialism. Either way, we hope that the relations between the GGA and the NAR are not sacrificed.

SIC to TA members:
Unfortunately, the GGA is not prepared to fight the Empire of Futuris militarily. What we will do, however, is offer goods on a "lend-lease" act to the Trans-Jordanian government. This is all for now. Good luck, my brethren.
SIC to Transjordan Government:
The GGA is willing to offer you numerous goods on a lend-lease act. Simply return these goods at the end of the war and pay for the destroyed ones, and your debt will be fulfilled. Currently we can offer numerous Leopard 2A4's, JAS 39 Gripens, and many infantry weapons. If you would like any other vehicles, please feel free to ask. The GGA will also offer naval assitance from our submarine fleet.

The group of Hinds and Havocs finally made it over to the city to assist the attack. The Naval Infantry moved in on the East Police Station and began to assault. Police defenders bravely fought the professional soldiers, but alas, they were no match for the BMP-3 that arrived on the scene. The firefight went on for about fifteen minutes before the BMP began to fire off its 105mm cannon at the front doors, blowing them inwards allowing for an increased advantage for the URNI. One of the massive Hind Gunships came overhead and went into a hover over the URNI forces outside. It set its sights for the station and began to launch off its FFARs at the police station, blowing massive holes in it, forcing the beleagured police to surrender.
Elsewhere in the city, the roadblocks had been perfected to include constantina wire, wrought-iron spikes, and cars. A Helix-B circled above, coordinating the attacks from the sky. Residents of the city were being pushed into designated camp areas guarded by reserve infantry fresh in from the main fleet. Many residents fled to outer parts of the city and were not followed by the soldiers.

We are currently planning on supporting the Futuris advance on Transjordan with both carrier groups in the Mediterranean once WEF forces finish up with the Balkans. We will not hesitate to lay waste to whatever forces oppose the Imperial forces in conquering these people who have for far too long been the hotbed and epicenter of stirring up anti-American sentiments. As Americans, however, the Republic would be willing to negotiate.
If the GGA were to cease all operations against the Kingdom of Estereich before Istanbul (leaving all land beneath and including Istanbul intact), then the Republic would consider remaining neutral in this conflict against Transjordan. American sentiment against the Arabians in this conflict is high, though if the GGA were to agree to this compromise then certainly such sentiments could be directed against the Jamaicans should they fail to meet our ultimatum.

E-2 Hawkeye craft were beginning to locate the Greek fleet on radar-crafty bastards, clumping their fleet together, then proceeding to attack the Federation forces. It was no matter-the Americans could come around them and rout the Hellenic Naval forces with two CVBGs in the area. Aircraft formerly on Alert-10 status now began to hit the deck. A squadron of S-3 Vikings, armed for ASuW roles, began to run off the deck, armed with four harpoon ASuW missiles. Two squadrons of F/A-18E Super Hornets followed immediately after, outfitted with a combination of ASuW and AA capabilities.

The man lit up his cigar, and spread out the papers. He had in his hands and on the table numerous pictures of the city, and looked upon them with great interest.
"Here's the deal. There are a few main streets running through the city right? Here, they criscross perpendicurarly and create these squares. As the city thins out, the streets become smaller and smaller."
A few of the other men nodded - so much was obvious so far.
"So what we do, is we bombard the main streets and go in through the side streets, just like that."
"Sir!"
The man turned around. An officer carrying more photos stepped in. "These just came in from the two MiG's that stayed. It seems they are blockading the side streets. The main streets look open though."
The man looked at them quickly, before turning back to the old ones.
"Hmmph. Change of plan then. Give 'em 5 minutes of hell on the side streets leading to the city. As our tank forces drive through the remains, I want Main Infantry supporting, while Guirella Infantry securing after. Right before the tanks move on to another part of the city, I want to give those places another 5 minutes of hell - yeah, it won't be a lot, but a lot isn't needed. Continue like that throughout the whole city."
"Sir...when do you want us to begin?"
"Now. I don't like the whole politics deal with this. I want to go through this city as soon as possible. The rest of the army is waiting to go into Amman."
"Yes, sir."

The 2S1's and 2S3's began to to load and fire their barrage. Their rounds were heard in the distance as a low rumble, and soldiers nearby could imagine the small Arabic streets falling in disarray and chaos. Some of them sighed. This would have been so much easier if they had surrendered and tried to preserve life. As soon as they had been going on for 5 minutes, about 100 of the tanks started out to approach the city. No resistance was made in the outskirts. They began to approach the outer city limits, with APC's and jeeps closely behind them. A few brave troops were jogging with the tanks, looking for signs of the enemy.

Numerous snipers were sent out to pick off unsuspecting soldiers while more BMP 2's and 3's were unloaded along with BRDM-2 ATGM launchers and BTR-90 APC's.

The Empire of Futuris
Official Statement of the Mongolian Republic
To: The Empire of Futuris
It is, indeed, a pity that we have stayed silent as warlike actions have been committed around the world. There is a world of difference, however, between the current actions of the WEF and GGA in the Balkans, or the actions of the NAR in Latin America, and that which you are currently attempting to undertake. Unlike these other actions, your war of aggression against Transjordan is completely unwarranted, and reflective of the troubling path of imperialism that Futuris has embarked upon. The other "expansionist" actions you have cited, however troubling and worrying they may be, have at least been somewhat justified. It is true that these wars of aggression, justified as they may be, cannot continue for much longer.
But you? You offer no justification whatsoever for your actions, and show merely a callous disregard for the peace and security of the world. We had no quarrel with your annexation of Tunisia. We had no concerns over your potential annexation of Morocco. But you have shown, through your mindless actions towards the government and people of Transjordan, a nation that you have no reason whatsoever to hassle, that you will not be sated. You are attempting to spread yourselves, as though you are an infestation, over the entirety of northern Africa and the Middle East. It is doubtful that, when successful, you will stop there. When will you be satisfied?
A line must be drawn somewhere to reverse the current trend of expansionism pervading the world today. We pray that it is drawn here and now, in the sands of the Transjordanian nation, for all our sakes. We harbor no ill will against the Empire of Futuris itself, and express no desire to see its current power rescinded, but to let that power grow unchecked could well be disastrous for us all.

The Western European Federation would like to formally support its allies in there condemnations of the Empire of Futuris’s actions. No justifiable reasons have been given for these wars, and we will not watch them commence military operations any longer with a total disregard to the well-being of those nations involved. Economic and trade sanctions from the Third Alliance will be placed on you if you continue aggression further, and by what information we have heard your attacks will be prevented by our Eastern Asian allies.

The Flanker Bs entered Istanbul airspace, beginning to pick targets amidst the fleeing YAK-141 VSTOL craft and what attack helos of the enemy were within the city. Archer AAMs blasted off wingtip rails of the Sukhois, shooting forward on wispy white trails of smoke and steam. As the Su-27s shot low over what had once been Emperor Constantine's seat of Roman power, the force that had arrived on the city's outskirts drove along the wide-open main city avenues below.
The AH-1s on the city's edge, advancing forward, quickly found themselves under fire. An Aphid AAM blasted into one cobra, slamming through the helo's fore cockpit and into the vehicle's midsection. The copter erupted in fire and shrapnel, showering remains of its fuselage and rotors as the AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles it had equipped exploded. Another cobra responded in kind, one Sidewinder blasting off its outer left hardpoint towards a Hind.
On the ground, the M113 TOW wasn't fast enough to get around the corner. The RPG slammed into its fore section, sending a plume of fire out the front as the rocket launcher atop twisted backwards. Two of the soldiers were thrown to the ground, but one quick-thinking troop had set up an FN MAG machine gun behind a smoldering car and began opening fire towards the building. Another, toting a Mk. 19 Grenade launcher, took matters into his own hands. By a stroke of luck, he managed to shoot an explosive, expertly launched, through a first-story blown-open window. Of the remaining of the ten soldiers still left, the others opened fire with MP5s and M4 carbines.
The armor column, bolstered by artillery, support armor, and mobile AAA, began advancing down Istanbul's plazas and historical fare, moving forward to launch another battle through the city's war-torn streets, devestated by the Ottoman Turks centuries earlier.

With Chancellor Frist away in New York, Stephen Harper-the Minister of the Interior-was the most powerful arm of the executive branch around Chicago. He was a native of the Pan-Alaskan Region and originally had been a citizen of the Maple Leaf, before Reagan brought together the two similar nations of North America. But he was in a bit of a rut-as being the highest around, he had to do a lot of Frist's work while the former Tennessee Senator was away with Entente representatives. Harper was fairly oblivious to most international affairs-he was the Minister of the Interior, after all, and dealt with homeland problems-but he was smart enough to figure things out.

We suggest that the TA not look to accuse the Entente of looking to damage relations-after all, with a secure base established on four continents, the Entente is well enough suited to rely on its own assets if need be, but continue to keep relations amiable with the TA out of ease of common affairs, rather than neccessity. We will not tell the Empire of Futuris to stand down, and moreso, if the Triple Alliance looks to interfere in such affairs by attempting to engage the Imperial forces in Transjordan, then American forces will retaliate on the first offender with the full extent of its non-nuclear arsenal.
We are currently assisting against the Hellenic Navy and Greecian forces in the WEF's campaign-little different than that of the Imperial quest-but the Republic can easily divert forces to deal with any "obstructions" in Transjordan. At the time, with the GGA and the Republic under dealings to mutually restrict expansion, no active support will go to the Empire (though passive-supply and financial, as well as political-shall), should the Empire come under attack by forces other than Transjordan or the Kingdom of Estereich in the area, than the Republic would not reject an idea to finance the Kingdom of Estereich or the Republic of Yugoslavia.
The Entente will not be the first to back down on this issue-though the TA does not neccessarily have to back down either and still not sacrifice anything-by staying out of the active affair.

Mrs. Laura Harding was starting to dislike the Americans again. They threw there power around because they could - in all honesty, without the American power in the Entente, despite the force of Russia and India, the WEF would fight them on this issue. They had some of the best technology and highest military spending in the world, plus one of the strongest naval forces and a massive economy - but all these things were second or third to the leader, America. It seemed in this day and age that the worlds decisions rested on America and the only place that they did not use there power to influence was in Africa. She also did not like the way they often degraded the Third Alliance as the weaker of the two, when in most aspects they seemed equal to her, mostly due to the TA's size and the powers they processed in the GEACPS, the GGA and the WEF.
But, relations with them had improved, and despite, for the first time in many a long year the friendly relations between Western Europe and the US being quite quiet (she had still to meet with there leader), she wished to at least keep a diplomatic show of warmth towards them.

In simple terms - the Third Alliance is not trying to ruin good relations with your nation...and the Entente, we merely are expressing our point of view that this expansion should stop. The Western European Federation has no plans to get involved in this war directly, though other alliance members most likely will, and we will support them diplomatically and by other means that may be more useful to them.
We hope that relations do not suffer as a result of this, and that your navies remain in our nation, though the WEF will not stand and watch the Empire of Futuris invade these countries easily just because he is in your protection - we will try and prevent him, if not damaging him by force, economically or by supporting our allies who wish to do the former.
We look forward to our continued operations in Greece and hope you can proceed with your attack (hint hint). We hope you conclude whatever deal you have with the GGA so it is benefical to all of you.

If you held that second request to Kuwait only (OOC: The obvious point of affirmation/not), then the Republic would be willing to accept this idea. If both Iraq and Kuwait would be desired, then the Republic would request that Romania and Bulgaria be left in Estereich hands.
After all, it's territory expansion either way, and not unreasonable by any means. Republic intervention in the Transjordan affair will guarentee Imperial victory in the initial phase, so weigh your options accordingly.

We support your response, though cannot do so actively due to our involvement in various other wars, and increasing tensions with the Empire of Futuris in their African areas. We ask you to try and prevent there invasion, not to directly attack Futuris - if you follow the first option the American attacks could be dealt with, though if you strike in there allies countries they may be more willing to commit troops. But, we trust you will know how to act in this situation, if you do act (which, in order to save these in need and valuable countries, we hope you do.)
Good luck on any prevention, hopefully it will not come to war if Futuris does the right thing - though I know his nation from his moves in Africa, and it is likely he won't.

Istanbul, KoE
Istanbul, KoE
"Evasive action! Launch countermeasures!" screamed a Yak-141 pilot. The Yaks broke off, making hard turns to avoid the missiles. One of the Archers clipped the wing of the aircraft, sending it out of control forcing the pilot to punch out. Meanwhile, the helicopets, realizing what was goign on, sunk into the streets attempting to avoid the missiles. A Hind was obliterated, its twisted metal falling upon the streets below.
The airborne reinforcements requested had arrived with Yellow and Fenrir squadrons moving in. Yellow, made up of five Su-35's, and Fenrir, made up of two MiG 1.44's and three Su-47's, rocketed in over the coast. They armed and fired their LRAAM's towards the Erstreichian jets as they swooped in over the city.
Nizhny Tagil AFB, UR
The base was buslting with acitivity with the recent order arriving from HQ coming into effect. With the Fenrir and Yellow squadrons wrestling for air superiority, the main air strike force was being assembled for launch. Three Tu-22M bombers, four Tu-160 bombers, and ten Su-25 "Rook" Fighter/bombers loaded up and began final launch preparations. An escort squadron was being scrambled out of Moscow AFB and was on its way to assist the bombers in their mission. The heavy bombers, four armed mostly for carpet bombing and the other three with precision heavy bombs, were supposed to hit the main concentrations of resistance and basically cause as much of a ruckus as possible. The ten Rooks where armed with ASM's to take out enemy armor and positions with accuracy.

We have overlooked the attacks on three African countries, and prevented one - but now they are expanding into new continents it seems these Empires are never pleased. Economic and trade sanctions from the Third Alliance will be placed on you if you continue aggression further, and by what information we have heard your attacks will be prevented by our Eastern Asian allies.

"Grabarc, Fenrir, break! Break!" shouted the commander inside the Helix-B.
"Roger, evasive meneuvers engage." replied Fenrir leader. He and his squadron, being the better trained of the two, pulled their practiced evade. Fenrir 1, the lead Su-47, pulled up and flipped on his back, then nose dived towards the sea. The other two Su-47's banked left and right, repeating Fenrir 1's move. The MiG 1.44's blew out countermeasures and began a banking barrel roll left and right, avoiding the missiles. Grabarc, on the other hand, was a little more hesitant. Grabarc 1 blew off the countermeasures and did a wild spin and twist all over the place. Grabarc 3, a rookie, was struck in the wing, causing it to lose its left wing tip. It started banking left and found it difficult to control itself.
"Grabarc 3 is hit!" yelled the air commander. "Report, Grabarc 3! Report!"
"I'm hit!" she yelled. "I'm losing control!"
"Stay up!" shouted Grabarc 1. "Don't let me down, Luitenant!"
"I can't! I'm punching out!" she yelled. A large amount of static came over the line and all eyes turned to Grabarc 3. The canopy was seen blown off, but no chute came out. A huge jet of flame shot out of the cockpit as the launch engine burned her alive. Her screams were heard over the radio as her plane dropped down and hurtled towards the ground, exploding with a small fireball.
"No!" yelled Grabarc 1. "Katriana!"
"She's dead, Grabarc 1!" yelled Fenrir 2 over the radio. "Now get to work and avenge her!" The two squadrons now fought with renewed vigor and hate, ready to lay waste to all of the KoE fighters in their way.

The two lead Flanker Bs began spitting gun fire from their frontal 30mm cannons, bullets flying like rabid fireflies.
Stingers began firing out from the ground in heavier concentrations, the surface-to-air missiles breaking off in smoke and steam trails, like wraiths following Azrael to the doomed. The Turks were taking to quarter on the ground-mortar fire had begun against targeted positions where Russian holdout was going on, and several M270 MLRS launchers in several points of the city had opened up with high arcs, sending ATACMS rockets flying.

"Firing Aphid-2! Out!" he yelled as he launched one of his Aphid AAM's. Fenrir 4 jetted his MiG 1.44 into a high speed chase and let out one of his Archer AAMs.
On the Ground, the fighting intensified. With bomber support close on its way, they only needed to hold off for a little longer. The URNI was utilizing its Kornet defenses and MG nests in the captured buildings to their full potential. Snipers armed with Vintorez VSS snipers picked away at the assaulting Turks as much as possible. I see. If you do not declare war, then all is well. I can assure you, that unless your troops get in the direct way of our military (get in front of Transjordanian military to give them a good attacking position while we can't attack in fear of hitting you), they will not be fired upon.

OOC1: PS, sry about my earlier "hundreds" bit; the Fishbeds are 130 and I'm going by that number.:( Still a decent interceptor force within limits though. I'll try not to totally pwn you, just give you the sort of challenge that I should given what I know. I meant it when I said claims had to be earned here after all...:p
IC1
For a surprisingly low cost in manpower and resources, mostly among the local-defense militia and light regular brigades that had pulled the now-called "Great Ambush of Croatia," Yugoslavia had all but won the ground war. The air war had been more even, with nearly a third of the 160+ Oraos lost and fully half the Fulcrums, but the remainder of those were using high-speed BVR tactics with R-27 Alamo SARH MRAAMs to buy time for the Oraos to bug out for base; the Fulcrums then attempting the same just as soon as their illumination timers hit zero (for hit or miss) and they could break out of the furball, which clearly they couldn't survive if they didn't disengage absolutely ASAP. Still, there had to have been some effect on Italian readiness due to the obvious vanity they were displaying even in combat, and hence now there should be a notable pause in WEF air operations for Operation: Black Smoke.
Even these WEF strikes were being still resisted too of course, although the MiG-21s involved in the defense continued to suffer heavily, being restricted to Within Visual Range combat where the Italian Tornados seemingly behind most of the strikes were able to balance things out with all-aspect SRAAM shots despite the Fishbeds' (still) better comparative maneuverability allowing for easy rear shots if one not downed first by a Tornado exercising some "hostile prevention." Fifteen more Fishbeds were down by now; still leaving an even hundred across nine squadrons still operational, but even that size of force couldn't sustain this sort of attrition rate forever.
On the ground, Yugoslav forces halted near the Slovenian border despite wanting to "reclaim" one of the so-called "lost republics" in their seeming victory. All of a sudden, their generals had called a halt to the pursuit; the reason why only being obvious back in Belgrade.
"We must make peace NOW!" Executor Zevon had a reputation for fanaticism, which was not entirely undeserved insofar as his neo-Maoist politics was concerned; but this did not extend to military matters. He'd only reacted as he did for two reasons: first, to intimidate the effeminate WEF by showing how strongly Yugoslavia would resist imperialist aggression; this accomplished, then secondly the real hawks lower in his party could be cowed and he could take the decision he really wanted in peace. "I shall never deliver us into the hands of those who would restore capitalism to the People's Land, but I do believe I have a plan that can secure us both peace and a meaningful victory here. Czechalrus is one of the WEF's allies as I recall, and a nation like us besides; aside from perhaps including the Albanians, but that is an incentive in my mind since it solves our nascent tinderbox in Kosovo at a stroke on our terms. If we must yield or merge our sovereignty with any other, then let it be the Czechalrussians! The WEF can then negotiate with us as equals in union with their ally, offering fair conditions for the use of our land. Agreed, comrades?"
It was a trick question. Although freer than in most Maoist-themed countries, the Parliament still wasn't really going to buck the Paramount Leader on a decision such as this; not least when momentary victory strengthened his hand with the masses behind the elections insofar as those mattered. The plan was approved forthwith, and the messages sent.
To the Czechalrussian Federation
I am pleased that you have not abetted the aggression against us by your reputed allies in the Western European Federation; pleased enough, in fact, that I offer you a possible deal which can benefit us both. Although my People's Army has scored a great victory over the (supposed) imperialists in Croatia and the surrounds these past days, I am not blind. Eventually, unless this war is decided by diplomacy, it shall be ended in force with my nation's destruction.
Rather than invite that, I offer for us to be merged under your fine and Socialist state. It would do much to end the festering ethnic tensions our region is known for, not least since the Albanians could be fully reunited with their Kosovar brethren on terms that were not prejudicial to the interests of Yugoslavia's other peoples. If you accept, we will be easily able to make peace with the Europeans and allow them fair passage through our lands at your discretion. Please answer soon, for the war remains delicate and already we may be losing momentum.
Yours in Comradeship,
Nikolas Zevon, Executor of the People's Will for the Republic of Yugoslavia
To the Western European Federation
You are fairly beaten foe, methinks. We have suffered our share of losses, true; but nonetheless your strategy to intimidate us with aerial bombardment and a most-shoddy infiltration of Croatia has failed. Utterly, and thankfully at relatively-minimal cost to each of us.
Now, my earlier tone aside, I am far from an unreasonable man if dealt with fairly. We know our relative strength compared to you in conventional terms, and shall not succumb to arrogance in striking further at your lands unless you give us no choice but to go down fighting for our true rights. Which I can assure you we shall do if so forced.
But I have a compromise deal for you that can almost certainly avoid such unpleasantness, as well as end the current crop of such to our mutual benefit. If I recall correctly, the Czechalrussian Federation is an official Third Alliance ally of yours, yes? We would be comfortable unifying under their administration, since it would be minimially-disruptive (if at all) to our social apparatus and would still render us at your service; only fairly so, of course.
We also care not for the latter-day Byzantine imperialists in Erstereich, despite many of us still being co-religionists with them in the Orthodox Catholic Church; so if you required our lands or even our forces for assistance against them once we were fully part of Czechalrus, we would do our part within the union to obtain their consent to such aid. No promises-as-such can be made in that case, but the effort will be made regardless. Is this acceptable, or do you insist on war so that you proper can gain certain lands through a bloodbath instead of an ally gaining them effortlessly?
Sincerely,
Nikolas Zevon, Executor of the People's Will for the Republic of Yugoslavia
The Kanaris was finished, though she had exacted her toll before the end; rolling over and sinking within seconds in a capsize that almost-surely spelled doom for all hands aboard. It was a demoralizing sight, but also an enraging one all the same.
Hence, the Elli began a lazy turn in a northward arc; trying first for rendezvous with the Hydra-class squadron still bearing down on the enemy, and thence to make for port at Scaramanga once behind their cover. An enemy whom, amazingly, seemed ignorant of Erstereich Greek air opposition even now; a fact that the 115th Wing's F-16Cs exploited in full by loosing all AMRAAMs that could be brought to bear as soon as effective range was reached. Now it was the Europeans' turn to be on the wrong end of a fighter ambush for their single-mindedness. This going on, the (barely) surviving frigate loosed every weapon it could bring to bear in a desperate attempt to shake off the Eurofighters' attacks before retiring from the battlespace.
Meanwhile, the three Italian ships being broadcasted to were spotted by the 111th Wing's Falcons, which although not capable of fighting them in an air-to-air configuration nonetheless datalinked their position to the eight-frigate squadron of Elli-class vessels. Seconds after the observed coordinates were plotted in, sixteen RGM-84 Harpoons launched over the horizon to greet the new arrivals to the naval battle. And, of course, demonstrate just how serious Erstereich was about defending its own from being piled upon so cheaply as the Italians' movements indicated was their intent to do to the Elli proper...
TO: Both Our Allie Of Czechalrussian, And The Yugoslavian States
The Western European Federation has lost lives in this brief fighting, and we know we have made strategic blunders, but, at the end of this you seemed to have finally realised that we want payment for our losses. We are not willing to fight your nation, and see you fight us, and then just give up all lands. We will however create a deal, as we know that Czechalrussian may have a more similar current rule to you, you must understand that we cannot simply give over the lands to this nation, lands that, however few, men have died for. So, for the lands of Croatia and Bosnia, we will allow Czechalrussian rule under Serbia and Montenegro. This means you will surrender these two lands to us, but under our “Annexing Laws” you will be granted a place in government of these nations, possibly in the military sector, as it seems to be where you have most skills – we admire your strategic skills at least.
Your attacks on our Italian airbase have angered and worried we that you will not give into the aggression, though this deal with persuade us too. We trust the Czechs, they are Third Alliance members and peaceful and quiet on the International Stage – so, in exchange for a halt on all attacks by the Yugoslavian states and the WEF, we will take the countries of Croatia and Bosnia, appoint your influence in government so you can “teach” us how these governments wish to be run (though we will still follow the WEF general practice of rule), and allow our allies in the Czech’s to have Serbia and Montenegro, with the assurance that we can use the latter countries lands as part of our possible continued attacks on Greece.
We hope this deal is acceptable on both ends.
- Mrs. Laura Harding, High Commissioner of the WEF
OOC: Despite all the military power of the WEF, I still am embarrassed by our failings – be kind on me though Wagdog, as you surely must of realised I will not going to give in all the lands, even to an ally. As for your Greece post Wagdog, I’m just a tad confused what’s going on there…could you just sum it up, I managed to get that I’ve destroyed one ship, the other one is going to re-coup (American forces, this is when you can strike) and you are now attacking my three Italian ships, who haven’t really moved? I’d prefer to at least RP them there before you attack them to be honest, I’m too inexperienced to keep up with all of this! :p
Also, reply to the Italian Air attack to come in a minute.

Where are those frigates anyway? If they're not there we can ignore the attack in question or I can redirect it. No sense in wasting perfectly good Harpoons after all...;):p

Off of Greece
The Vikings and Super Hornets were angling in fast as two squadrons of Black Widow II Cs, higher in the sky, provided CAP. The Greecians hadn't even given the slightest clue of seeing the four squadrons of attacking aircraft and twenty-four LHD-deployed fighters above, all deployed from the two-carrier group. HARMs and Harpoons bristled from underneath hardpoints and wing rails on the aircraft as they shot low over the waves, beneath 1000 feet. The Black Widows were equipped with AIM-152 Lance long-range AAMs (recently developed as the successor to the Phoenix), AMRAAMs, and Sidewinders.
"Knight Lead, we are approaching target range Papa Bear," called in the lead Super Hornet of the formation.
"This is Papa Bear. RedEye is showing that they're looking at the 'talians and overlooking ya'll. Clear to fire, Knight," the Roosevelt radioed back on a high-frequency band.
"Roger Papa Bear."
The Hornets hit afterburners as the Vikings prepared to fire. The F/A-18Es were partially equipped with HARMs to hit radar areas of the ship, and to knock out airborne detection.
"Knight Lead, Magnum 1."
The first AGM-88 HARM sped off from the underbelly rail of the Hornet, blasting forward.
"Knight 5, Magnum 1."
"Cavalier 2, Magnum 1."
HARMs blasted off the rails of the two squadrons of Hornets unloosed their antiradiation missiles towards the ships-who couldn't possibly afford to drop any of their radar to divert the missiles due to their engagement. The HARMs would be back on the tracks of they tried to temporarily do it.
"Norse Lead, Rifle 1."
The Vikings began opening up with the Harpoons, AGM-84 ASMs shooting forward.
"Norse 3, Rifle 1."
"Norse 9, Rifle 1."
"Odin 4, Rifle 1."
"Cavalier 12, Rifle 2."
"Knight 6, Rifle 2."
Harpoons sped off from the strike detachment. The Vikings expended their entire arsenal of harpoons-four of the ASMs on each craft. The two squads of S-3s turned around, heading back to their respective carriers. The Hornets pulled up, moving into CAP with the Black Widow IIs, still some distance out from any serious long-distance SAM range, unless the Greeks had some how gotten their hands on SM-3 launchers.
From the ships, another missile launch was going on. The cruisers and destroyers of the fleet were preparing Tomahawks and Harpoons to engage. From the armada's seven cruisers, each fired off several cruise missiles and a trio of harpoons. The destroyers contributed in with a few less missiles, all targeting various ships of the Hellenic Navy that were busy engaging the Federation ships.
The Vikings began dropping Sonobuoys on their way back-letting the small sonar devices fall into the water to float on the surface and report on any undersea activity. An E-2 Hawkeye flew above the carrier group, still patrolling.
OOCly: Yah, I get you. I'll reply again after Czech, obviously, but my fighters would've seen something just by buzzing around up there, and the Harpoons have a long enough range to pull that off since we're just rounding the east of Crete now.

The GGA submarine fleet meandered around the Turkish pennensula. They were not to go to Transjordan, as the GGA wished for no hostilities to erupt between them and the NAR - but the fact that they were supposedly there should deter some of the Futurian aggression. The GGA had settled to only take Romania and Bulgaria, along with Kuwait, but it was time to contact their eastern neighbors.

We have recently made a deal with the NAR where we would isolate our attack in Europe. Having said this, we wish to inquire as to wether you would be offended by using invading Turkey up to Bosporuns. It seems that this would greatly balnce the power near Istanbul, with the GGA controlling one side, and the UR the other. However, this may be unsatisfactory to the UR, and thus the GGA wishes to ask first.

The tanks went through the side streets with little resistance. The blockades had been effectively destroyed, and the few Jordanians that were left were quickly dispersed and eliminated. As sections of the city fell to EF control, the Guirella Troops moved in an established makeshift hospitals and bases. Although they were probably not going to be needed that much, they had been trained to do so. The tanks and other infantry, along with APC's and other light combat vehicles went on ahead. Artillery was used on each section of the city that the main tank forces were to go into, so that resistance was little to none. In that way, the tank forces were split up to go in the side streets around the city, thereby surrounding it. Only a few more miles and the center city would be completely surrounded...

With the roadblocks failed, the Jordanians had to fight however they could to stem the attacks. Civilians armed with molotov cocktails, RPG-7's and AKM assault rifles took to the streets alongside their soldiers and began to fight for their lives. Teams of four men would rove through the alleys in search of a tank, then throw molotovs at them. This effectively turns the tank into a furnace and when the crew tried to escape, they would be gunned down by the assault rifle totting men in the group.
The tank crew was calm enough. There was no action as of yet, really. It was almost like a peaceful patrol along an Arabic street. Except for the burning buildings, incomprehensible shouts, and the other tanks, infantry, and APC's that were with them. One of the sighed. War.
"Ehh, we've got Jordanians on our left...turrets 280 degre-" was what the commander managed to say before an explosion rocked the tank, and the commander fell. Alarms blaring, they looked around to see if everything was okay. The commander was unconcious, so the gunner managed to open the hatch and look outside. Seconds later, he fell back down, three bullet wounds in his head. Another explosion rocked the tank. Something began to burn.
"Evasive maneuvers! This is T-72-23, we have a situation, requesting back u-" before a molotov was landed right beneath his nose. He looked up, the smoking trail through the open hatch, the fire searing his clothes and body.
"Shit."
* * *
One of the soldiers fired a burst at the Jordanians firing at the tanks, before turning around to the driver of the APC behind him.
"They're firing at the tanks...we gotta get out and help 'em."
The driver leaned just a bit out of the APC before ducking back in as metal clangs from bullets sounded around.
"Look I'm sorry...but we've got to make the area secure first before unloading. See what you can do, and I'll try to get the cannon on them."
The soldier sighed, but agreed. Just as he was about to turn back, a large explosion, followed shortly by another one resounded by the lead tank.
"Oh, shit." he muttered, before unhooking one of the grenades at his belt, and throwing it into the fray of Jordanians. Just as he was about to fire another burst, he saw a molotov cocktail sail from the Jordanians, and make its way gracefully into the open hatch of the tank. A second ticked by, two...the soldier could only stare at the tank before an explosion rocked it, and smoke and fire began to engulf it. With that, an RPG slammed into the tank, tearing it apart even more.
He shook himself from the horrors he had witnessed, and glanced back at the APC's. The M242 Chain cannons began to release hell on the Jordanians with Sabot and High Exlosive Incendiary rounds. He too, righted himself, went prone, and fired several bursts at the Jordanians. He could hear other soldiers firing on the Jordanians that were approaching from different sides.

The molotov crews, though taking losses, seemed to be doing their job well. Some of the Jordanian Infantry had set up in sniper positions in rubble or on top of buildings and began to target the infantry on the ground and the tank commanders who happened to have their heads out of the hatch.
Even though the Futuran soldiers had their MBT's inside the city, they were still at a slight disadvantage. The tanks couldn't exactly move too fast and get out of the way of incoming missiles, so that one fact instilled confindence in the Jordanians on the ground.

Air

Now, the tanks started to fight back. As more and more tanks began to advance through the several side streets, Jordanian "molotov crews" that were facing one street, and firing on tanks there, would get their asses blown off the face of the planet by a tank round from behind as they were advancing by other side streets.
More and more infantry showed up, throwing grenades, and firing at the Jordanian crews. More and more APC's began to empty, and infantry began to take to the buildings, firing out of windows, being creative with how they killed. Guirella Infantry began to secure buildings from behind, and their own snipers arranged on terraces and roofs to fire on the Jordanians.
Tanks now began to move freely through the streets, expecting the following tanks to remove any threat that popped up while they were moving forward and defenseless. Infantry began to make bolder and bolder moves with the tanks, which were now protected, with closed hatches and periscopes looking. Several grenade launchers were being used on Jordanian strongholds in terraces in the buildings - which were already destabilized from the artillery shelling, thus creating entire collapses of terraces and balconies.
The surrounding of the city was almost complete.

The Union of the Russias accepts this deal. We decree that all residents of Istanbul leave the city immediately. We will be allotting them two weeks to get out, otherwise we will be forced to forcefully remove them. The UR does not want to deal with the residents there as of now.

OOC: Time to tie up Est. I'll finish them off.
Candistan: Where are we in Istanbul? I can have parts of the city start failing (or I can document a diplomatic solution right here).
IC:
Addressed to the Union of the Russias and the Greater Germanic Alliance
In an effort to better keep together the provinces of the Kingdom of Estereich in a single united form, the Kingdom would be willing to make the following consensual deal:
+The Kingdom of Estereich would surrender the following territories to the Greater Germanic Alliance
-Estereich Bulgaria
-Estereich Romania
-Estereich Kuwait
-Northern Turkey
+The Kingdom of Estereich would surrender the following territories to the Union of the Russias
-Istanbul and Northern Asia Minor
+The Kingdom of Estereich would be able to hold the remainder of its territories-Syria, Iraq, and Mid-Southern Turkey, together as a united province.
We feel this is a fair deal that will end the bloodshed between nations.

OOC: About time. This will let me get involved in the alien thing.
IC: The GGA is glad that the KoE has finally come to its senses. We will immediately accept this deal, and our forces will stop hostilities against yours. Please withdraw your armed forces from the ceded regions, and we will happily recognize you as a sovereign nation. We also wish to acquire the records of all humans living in those areas, personal, medical, etc. Please name a price, and we will get back to you.

OOC: Time for more wrap-up, including Yugoslavia and more Est stuff.
As for the Greece thing, ya'll-Estereichan Greece (I think they had Greece) will go to the Republic of Yugoslavia-in essence, making Estereich into a Middle Eastern Kingdom (hmm, future RP possibilities). Yugoslavia essentially becomes Albania, Macedonia, and Greece.
IC:
Addressed to the Greater Germanic Alliance and the UR
The Kingdom will evacuate said people from Istanbul into the surrounding sides of Asia Minor and towards the new Estereich capital of Damascus. Also, armed forces and policing forces will begin the move to Estereich territory in Asia Minor as well.
As for the network of people to the Greater Germanic Alliance, the Kingdom will hand over a list of said information for a sum of $15 million. It is a low price to pay for pertinent information that will go a long way to easing a transition in the area and will assist the Kingdom in rebuilding war-torn areas.
In an effort to consolidate holdings as to not split the Kingdom into indefensible parts, the Kingdom will sell Greece and Crete to the Republic of Yugoslavia for $850 million.

Addressed to the Western European Federation
The Republic of Yugoslavia, under heavy attack by the Western European Federation, wishes to come to the following compromise.
+The Republic will purchase Greece and Crete from the Kingdom of Estereich for $850 million
-This will be half-financed by the Western European Federation
+The Western European Federation will acquire the following territories:
-Bosnia & Herzegovinia
-Croatia
-Serbia
-Montenegro
This is a more than acceptable treaty to end further bloodshed in the region, and restore stability to hopefully bring about Pan-European friendly sentiment, as well as keep the Republic intact.

This price sounds reasonable to us. We hope to begin a lasting friendship now that our issues have been resolved. Also, while we know you have offered Crete to Yugoslavia, we would be interested in acquiring it. Perhaps you might allow us to do so, or perhaps not. Either way, it is up to you.

Istanbul Military District, UR
With the civilian population being moved out, the workers and ressetlement population from the majority of the UR and its new Autonomous Republics of Trans-Geargia and the Azeri Republic began moving in. Walls began to be constructed around the city with many of the key highways blocked up with large city busses and cars.
The prisoners from the Istanbul Penitentiary were captured and thrown into forced labor by the URNI with their first order of business to construct the large highway barricades. Constantina wire and large Rought-iron spikes were thrown into place outward facing on the street while a more sophisticated defensive wall was placed around the newly declared Central Bosporous Sector which was to be the main focus of the UR in Istanbul. Housing was refurbished in the twenty blocks surrounding the CBS in each direction for the newly arrived settlers. The rest of the city was to basically become a large prison for all of the UR's unwanted prisoners. Eventually, due to the lack of enforcement by the URNI and NKVD, the walled in prison camp would sink into a state of Social Darwinism, precisely what the high-ups in command wished for.

The Western European Federation is pleased we can conclude this, after the bloodshed, mostly concentrated in Italy and Croatia, we wish for this to be over. We will begin the complete and utter transformation of your country, whilst still retaining it's cultures - soon, these onced deemed problematic Balkan states will be the economic and military powerhouse of Eastern Europe - or so is our plan.
We are vague on your plans for Greece however - do you wish to purchase the full mainland? The WEF is currently in control of Crete, and in order to mantain a stragetic positon there, we are willing to give $450 million to your purchase of Greece in exchange for Crete as well.

As the Jordanian crews began to retreat towards the center of the city, the tanks simply set a defensive perimeter, keeping clear of open spaces in the streets, and sticking to the side streets in an effort to minimize losses from missiles. Infantry began to take residence in the buildings outlying the center of the city. Snipers were given positions, and they waited. Any Jordanian crews that were seen approaching were given hell.
Military Bunker, Near Jordanian border
"Sir! We have the Jordanians in the center of the city. We managed to injure the infantry divisions that were present. The rest got out. Requesting order to commence artillery shelling."
"Ahh...yeah, go ahead. Get in a few planes too. I want them to have at least some experience."
City
In the distance, the rumbling began as artillery began to fire. A few seconds, a whistling sound.......and like fingers from Allah, struck down on the center of the city. Just as the artillery barrage ended, five MiG 23's swooped down and after firing several machine gun rounds at the people below in an effort to scare them, fired several missiles and bombs, circling back several times to get the ordered amount of ordinance to the Jordanians.

Massive convoy fleeing the town of Al Aqbah
"Commander! Why!" pleaded a soldier.
"HQ ordered us to leave!" shouted back the commander.
"But the civilians! They'll all be killed!"
"Amman appreciates their sacrifice."
City Center
Artillery began raining down on the militias and civilians who had prepared to make their last stand against the Futurans. They had taken a huge amount of casualties already and were close to calling it quits.
The tanks began to spearhead the movement into the center, trying to stay in side streets, and not in the middle of the streets. Infantry pushed forward, snipers perching and ready to take out at distance. The buildings leading to the center were fought for, and as the tanks advanced from all sides, and APC's emtied and continued to enter from all sides, they blasted anything that moved to kingdom come - so the infantry were careful to stay near the tanks, and only take buildings that were behind the frontlines. Slowly, the gap tightened.

City Center
All was quiet on the bombed out streets. Some bloody bodies lay strewn across the pavement loaded with shrapnel and shells, their eerie prescence adding more gore and horror to the scene. As the Futuran troops closed in, a single sight could be spotted over the clearing in the square. A large, bloodstained white flag was being raised above the square with the injured defenders of the town lying on the ground with their weapons heaped in a corner on fire. Al Aqbah had been won.
The troops quickly secured the area, tying up the prisoners, and a few medics tended to the hundreds of wounded Jordanians. Infantry peacefully cleared out the remaining buildings to make sure that everyone was out. Throughout the city, all the civilians were taken to the center, where they were kept under guard. A small hospital had been set up in one of the less damaged buildings to help the wounded. The weapons were confiscated, and infantry stood on guard around them, setting up camp near the center. It was a relatively small but secure prison for the time being. The rest of the army heaved out of the city north, where they met up with the rest of the military. They made a one-night stop to check up on infantry and equipment, before setting out once again.
Airbase, Israel
12 MiG 25's set out in a curved arc, and headed northeast. Their orders were to catch up to the convoy that had escaped Al 'Aqabah and lay in a few missiles and bombs. Anything to stagnate the Jordanian military capability. Scouts had pinpointed the last seen and direction of the convoy, and so the planes had been ordered to go there, and search from that position. By now, they would be far ahead - but it was a big desert, and a convoy like that would stand out for miles and miles - so it would be no big deal for the planes to find them.
OOC: I think that most of the area between Al 'Aqabah and Amman is pretty much desert and a few villages, except perhaps Ma'an and Al Karak. Is it okay if I just kind of "fast-forward" to Ma'an?
Candistan

OOC: Fast Forward granted :)
OOC: Thanks.
IC:
The army was approaching Ma'an. The city could be seen just above the horizon, and as more and more troops and tanks rode over the last big dune, they stopped for a few seconds to examine the landscape. It was rather flat from then on, and the setting sun in the distance above the city created an effect of a blood red desert all around. The order was given to create a camp outside the outskirts of the city.
Southern Jordan
The planes had arrived at the last seen position, and began to fly north and west. They split up into three groups into a spanning position, so that one was going north, another northnorthwest, and another northwest. That way, clearing the desert and searching for the convoy would be faster. They spread out to a few miles of each other, all 12 planes - and when the convoy was spotted, they would then regroup and destroy the convoy. And so they flew.
OOC: Can my planes spot your convoy, or do you want to get away with them to wherever (probably Ma'an, it's the closest, but Amman's cool too).
IC:
Ma'an
The army had positioned itself in a semicircle around a part of the city. They were out of reach of the city limits in terms of infantry and tanks. But artillery was still good. When dawn finally came, the order was given from the same military bunker in Israel to release a 30 minute barrage on the city. The Howitzers prepared themselves, as well as several other rocket launching vehicles, until they were ready. At exactly 0830, the artillery barrage began. Round after round was fired on the city, and rockets began flying in on the city like comets from hell. For thirty minutes the artillery fired. For thirty minutes, all that could be seen of Ma'an was fire and smoke. When it finally subsided, the army, having geared up before and during the barrage, began to move towards the city.

OOC: Sure, the convoy is full of a bunch of cowards anyways...lol.
IC: Ma'an, having no military forces in it whatsoever, became a horrid scene. Unarmed civilians with no idea of what was going on began to scramble for cover as the city was bombarded constantly. Many died in their cars, caught completely offguard from the bombardment. Police forces were stretched thin and were unable to control the situation, leading to chaos. After the barrage was over, the civilians of Ma'an remained in their hiding places, afraid to leave. With the barrage being caught at the peak hour of the people moving into work, the death toll was horrendous. Bodies lay on the street, briefcases in hand. Cars burned with their passengers dead inside.
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people, mostly members of the Royal Family and the government, began to flee the country north into Syria. The military began to move most of their more advanced equipment out into Syria, including a number of helicopters and planes. The last squadron of F-16's took off on what could be their last flight to Al Aqbah for their possibly last mission. Loaded full with bombs, they rocketed over the desert and reached their target.
"I know you all don't want to do this, but it must be done. For the good of Jordan." said the lead pilot. They made a pass over the city, then returned and dropped their payloads on the Futuran positions, even though some were inhabited by civilians.
OOC: Sure thing.
IC:
Al Aqabah
The planes caught the Futurian troops completely off guard. Many of them were really just sitting around and talking by the tables, playing cards, sleeping, or watching some of the televisions that weren't damaged during the invasion. The few troops that were actually manning defenses were tired and not paying attention. The next thing they knew they had payload after payload of bombs and missiles homing in on the position. Soldier and civilian died hand in hand - the left part of the Jordanian makeshift hospital was hit with several bombs - killing hundreds. Troops were running here and there as bombs fell all around them, and the hissing sounds of missiles passing hair's breaths away before releasing a deadly blast as they hit nearby walls. Most of the troops that had manned the defenses were dead, and only one anti-air rocket had been fired. Casualties were high for both the Jordanians and the Futurians. At first, the Jordanians tried to escape, seeing this as an opportunity. But the Futurian troops managed to secure the position once more after several hours of work, and a few shots fired. The F-16's were long gone.
Ma'an
The army entered the outskirts of the city, but did not stop. It seperated to cover each street, and plow through the remaining police quickly. Akhmad, an officer on the scene, began to make his way through the street, careful to not step on the multitude of bodies lying all around. Jordanians lay dead or dying as he walked. He payed no attention. Helping them was not his job. He continued by the tanks, looking around to make sure that nobody was trying to sneak up on them. He saw a scuttle in one of the balconies and thought he saw a flash of light. He saw another scuttle in two more balconies down the street. He signaled to one of the tank commanders, who were partially outside with the open hatches to the other two balconies. The tank commanders nodded, and descended into the tank. Seconds later, the balconies became piles of fire, smoke, and stone. Akhmad took three men with him to examine the balcony he had first seen. They entered the building, and began to climb up the stairs. Even if it had been nothing, he thought, better to began occupation of the city before any sort of resistance sparked up. There were many Guirella Infantry, whose main purpose was just that - but he could still help them. He reached the door that he thought was where the balcony led to. He knocked on it once, twice. No answer. He signaled to his men to get behind him, and on the other side of the door. They prepared their rifles. In one quick motion, he kicked the door with all his might, sending the timbers crashing and splintering on the floor, before swinging into the room, his rifle at the ready.
Convoy
The pilot of the MiG 25 was tired. They had been flying the whole night, and had still not found the convoy. There were really only a few places that they could still be - and yet, they had not found them. He looked over the horizon to see if luck had anything in store for him. He sighed. Nothing....there! A reflection! The pilot again squinted in the direction, and could just make out something black in the distance...
He realligned his plane on a direct course to the black object. As he neared it, his suspicious were confirmed. It was the convoy. He radioed in to the other 11 planes, telling the coordinates. Within a half hour, the 12 MiG's soared over the desert towards the convoy.

Ma'an, Jordan
The streets, lined with Futuran soldiers, were surplrisingly silent. No attacks had beeen done against the Futurans as of yet with the police officers at home trying to help their families. A lone group of people walked down the street. Led by the Imam of the town mosque, they held up white flags and with their hands in the air. They wore their ceremonial prayer apparel, though most of it was stained of the blood of those they had attempted to save during and shortly after the bombing. The Imam found what he thought to be the commander of the insertion force and stopped.
"Please! In the name of Allah, stop this madness!" He shouted to him. "The people of Ma'am have done no harm to you, and have been attacked unjustly! I beg you, whoever you are, to just stop and help us! In the mosque alone their are 250 dead! You must listen to me, in the name of Allah, cease your killing of civilians and help!"
Ma'an
The leading commander glanced at the white flag briefly before replying to the Imam.
"We are going through this as fast as we can. We are already calling on soldiers to hurry up and set up hospitals within the city. We will do what we can for the people."

Official Message from the GGA to Cyprus, Highly Encrypted
In light of the recent events pertaining to aliens, the GGA wishes to approach you today with an offer. You may become a part of the GGA, a state, just like Germany, today. There are numerous benefits to this proposal. First, if these aliens prove to be hostile, as suspected by many, the GGA will defend you and your people against attacks. Secondly, you will remain in power. All you will do is be lowered to governer. Finally, your nation will be compensated with the sum of 18 billion dollars, which should be slightly larger than your current GDP. Please respond to this message in a timely manner. We do not wish for it to become too late to save you.
Sincerely,
Eric Richtoff and the GGA government
"Are you saying that your country has surrendered to us? And how would you know? Are you speaking for the whole country? We are aware that this city is won - as was the last city. And even with no military forces readily visible, in Al 'Aqabah, even thought there were few military forces present, the civilians themselves proved quite a fight."
He started to walk with the Imam - he could see their disgust for him, but he had no time for that. Lives were at hand.
"We will need an official statement from your government pertaining your surrender. If there is a way that Syria can get him on the television networks, that way, we can officially come to a peace agreement. We will secure the city, and let you use our communication equipment. I want you to tell your leader of the situation, and demand a formal surrender. Along with the public television announcement, he must sign a treaty dictating his surrender. We will prepare the treaty, and let you look it over to send to your leader in Syria."

Official Address to the Greater Germanic Alliance
We will not submit to your nation-one which seems to be the target of these extraterrestrials-after struggling this far for independence against the Northern Moslems. Furthermore, the GGA seems to have bigger issues on hand up in Oslo, rather than try to be taking advantage of the situation to grab even more land before it is eventually annihilated by the menace which comes down from the skies now.
-Cyprus Foreign Affairs
Addressed to the Global Community
The Greater Germanic Alliance attempts to strongarm Cyprus, a nation still struggling for its freedom against forces which look to prevent so, into the GGA-even worse, exploiting this time of crisis, as billions of lives-the very existence of the human race-lay in the balance of these foreign interlopers from the sky. This shall not stand-and Cyprus will do all it can to repel any German efforts to forcefully incorporate Cyprus during this time of turmoil. Cyprus appeals to the world to stop these power-hungry maniacs in Germany to cease their advances now-they trek across Europe, move into Kuwait even now, and continue to move across the world. They are truly the Fourth Reich-and they will stop at nothing, eventually resorting to betrayl-possibly even selling out the human race, if so.

Jordan
All throughout the country, the military moved into each city without resistance. The Jordanians had surrendered, and could only express their hate for Futuris with their eyes, standing by as the Futurian military rolled past, occupying their homes and towns, a never-ending presence that threatened to smother the very existence of Jordanian culture. Amman, the former capital of Jordan, was partially evacuated - for the sake of the incoming aliens at Algiers, and also to help with occupation efforts. Every day, soldiers would go on raids to confiscate weapons that were left behind by the military, and heavy patrols as well as checkpoints were installed to make sure that if a resistance sprang up, it wouldn't have much to fight with. The Jordanian military in Syria was given no notice - but the borders between Syria and Jordan were closely watched. And ultimatum had been sent out to them to return all heavy military equipment to Futuris as per terms of surrender.
