History of the Federation of Australia and New Zealand (FANZ)
After prior treaties bringing the two nations together in various alliances and the so called "Confederation" program which moved in the direction of union without a vote, the Australian Labour Party and the Labour Party of New Zealand, both of which formed majority governments in their respective countries at the time, endorsed a public referendum on the matter of forming a federation which would unify the two countries. The reasons for this were primarily that it would increase national security for both nations.
On June 1, 2008, a public referendum approved the formation of the federation and within days the parliaments of the two nations approved the Constitution of the Federation of Australia and New Zealand as authorized in the referendum. The two governments were then merged with Australian Prime Minister Cliff Patterson elected as the first Prime Minister of the Federation.

- Official Statement by the Western European Federation.
Welcome Australia and New Zealand! The world is currently very unstable, so we support your decision to remain neutral to affairs. We would like to offer you an embassy in London, UK, due to your nation having historical ties with Britain. We would also like to further discuss bettering our diplomatic relations, whether it be through anti-aggression pacts, mutual defence or discussion about trade. We also wish to open an embassy in Sydney.

Greetings to everyone who has expressed interest in diplomatic relations with us. At present Australia and New Zealand remain separate, sovereign nations, though the idea of forming a Federation is the burning issue of the day and may soon be up for a referendum in both countries.
The so called "Confederation" that had been partially implemented previously has fallen apart.
The Australian government is not planning on establishing any new embassies nor entering into any agreements to allow new foreign embassies in our country until this issue is resolved because it will result in a radical shift in our foreign policy and the organization of the foreign ministry either way. If the Federation is approved by the two parliaments and by referendum, we will merge our foreign ministries into one and be consolidating embassies worldwide. If the proposed federation with New Zealand does not pass, Australia will be seeking a comprehensive review of its strategic alliances and probably looking for new allies.
We are not authorized to speak for New Zealand at this time, but we have heard that they do not have sufficient funds in their foreign ministry budget to open new embassies at this time.
Thank you for your friendly interest and your patience.

The Foreign Ministry of Australia is pleased to announce to the world that the referendum on the formation of a federation between Australia and New Zealand has passed and is being implemented. As a consequence, the Foreign Ministry of Australia is now merged with the Foreign Ministry of New Zealand and is now called the Foreign Ministry of the Federation of Australia and New Zealand (FANZ).
Furthermore, the FANZ is now engaged in a comprehensive review of its foreign policy and would be very interested in exploring the possibility of alliances with other nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the FANZ welcomes the initiative for closer ties between the FANZ and The Western European Federation. We would like to have a FANZ embassy in London. We would be willing to consider having a British embassy in Sydney, but we suggest instead that the WEF should have a consulate in Sydney and the embassy should be in Canberra which is our capital. Of course, since Sydney is a larger city and has more Western European visitors, we have no objection to a consulate in Sydney that is larger than the embassy in Canberra.

Minister of Foreign Affairs
Rei Arakawa,
Kingdom of Animarnia
The government of the Federation of Australia and New Zealand welcomes your initiative for an exchange of embassies. We accept your offer to open an embassy in New Delhi and we offer you a chance to open an embassy in Canberra, our capital.
Andrew Watson,
Minister for Foreign Affairs
Federation of Australia and New Zealand
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the FANZ welcomes the initiative for closer ties between the FANZ and The Western European Federation. We would like to have a FANZ embassy in London. We would be willing to consider having a British embassy in Sydney, but we suggest instead that the WEF should have a consulate in Sydney and the embassy should be in Canberra which is our capital. Of course, since Sydney is a larger city and has more Western European visitors, we have no objection to a consulate in Sydney that is larger than the embassy in Canberra.
The Western European Federation hereby accepts your offer of an embassy and consulate in Australia, and will begin constructing one in London at once.
If you wish to begin opening relations with us further, something that due to your Western inclined ways and our historical ties we would be interested in, you can do this in a number of ways. We would be interested in perhaps discussing possible deals to do with trade. As always, you’re welcome into the Third Alliance, though we respect your neutrality in the world today, and infact it's a fresh change that we wish to remain.

To the Western European Federation:
We have made available to you an embassy site in Canberra and a consulate site in Sydney. We would be willing to discuss trade and other matters as you wish. As for joining alliances, we would not like to have to choose between our British friends and our American friends. So long as they are in different alliances, it would be difficult for us to move away from neutrality. On the other hand, we would prefer to be in a large alliance that is strong enough to guarantee our security.
Andrew Watson,
Minister for Foreign Affairs
Federation of Australia and New Zealand

Sten - I've heard of micronations, but that world is still not all that realistic. I'm a fanatic about realism. Here's a game I'm involved in running:
http://nationsandempires1.blogspot.com
You won't find a more realistic game.
But that's beside the point. You want someone other than your Zidnarians to be the people from another universe? Let them be Nartenians and I'll play them. Nartenia is my NS nation. Very high tech.
But let's not take up space on this thread with all this stuff. If you want to do this, let's talk about it on your diplomacy thread.
You mean this, I guess. And it's Zindarians, not Zidnarians.
So you want your Nartenians from a parallel universe to come into my country on ESS. I'll agree to that only if my Zindarians can come to your country (Nartenia, not Kenya).
