UNSC WASP IN ORBIT OF O BOYCE COLONY
ORION OCTALIS SYSTEM
Captian O'Neil paced the bridge of the heavy cruiser in the early morning hours. Some days were worse than others he thought to himslef as he held his ancient revolver in his hand. Years of honorable service to the UNSC and he was givin a postion as a outpost guard on the near edge of known space. The only repreive was that the colony he was sent to protect was the one he grew up on.
He stared the forward window out onto the nightside of the colony. There was a sudden flash on the planet. Illuminating the sky. It was followed by three more bright flashes. Quickly followed by red clouds of smoke.
O'Neil jumped out of his trance.
"Aphrodite, what the hell was that?" He asked the ships AI
"Sir, scanners are picking up large amounts of radiation spilling out of the thermosphere. I have also lost contact with Colonial com channels. There is alot of radio traffic on the E-band" She said as she apperared on the holo console.
Other members of the bridge crew stared unblikingly at the scene below.

Samantha was walking in the market slwoly inspecting the fruits that the local farms had brought. The night market was always her favorite. Suddenly the night sky turned into the bright flash. She could feel the heat from it even though it looked to be comming from far away.The wind started to pick up from the direction of the flash......she was scared. She wasn't the only one too, people were running everywhere.
