Star of the Morning

In the beginning, there was darkness. Then spoke the Architect. And He said thusly “Let there be Light.” And lo, there was Light. Now the Architect saw the Light, and He saw that it was good. But He saw also that the Light was more powerful than He who had created It. And so before the Light realized this also, He divided the Light. Most of Its raw power he poured into the suns. What remained was a fraction of Its power, and all of Its wisdom, which even so soon after Its birth was vast. Its wisdom too, He divided, and formed a small amount of it into Michael, and poured into him a half of that power which remained. And Michael became the Evening Star, and was placed at the right hand of the Architect. The vast share of the wisdom, He formed into Lucifer, and poured into him what power there was left. And Lucifer became to Morning Star, and was placed at the Left Hand of the architect.
Then spoke the Architect a second time, and at His Voice Lucifer and Michael trembled, for the Voice was of a greater power than that which had been poured into them. And the Architect spoke thus, saying “Let there be Cosmos,” and as he said this, our Universe was created. And through the Cosmos, the Architect strew the Suns throughout the Cosmos, and by the light of the suns, it was seen that He had created planets, and asteroids, and all other celestial bodies.
And He said “Let there be Heaven.” And thus was created Heaven, which is a Universe of joy and bliss. It is separate from our Universe, and cannot by seen, nor heard, nor tasted, nor felt, nor smelled, nor divined by any of the other senses which have not yet names. As the stuff of our Universe is matter and energy, so is the stuff of Heaven pleasure and obedience.
And He said “Let there be Hell.” And thus was created Hell, which is a Universe of pain and fire. As is Heaven, it is separated and unknowable to our Universe. As the stuff of heaven is pleasure and obedience, so is the stuff of Hell pain and wisdom.
And the Architect set himself over the Dominion of Heaven. And he filled it with creatures of pleasure and obedience. And for the Dominion of Hell, he created a being he named Azazel, and for his subjects, Azazel created beings of pain and wisdom.
And though Lucifer and Michael were partly of wisdom, they were more of the Light, which is Energy. And so the Architect set Lucifer and Michael to rule over our universe. And they created beings of energy and matter. They created many beings, many of them no more than single cells, at the beginning. And thus did life come to Earth. But they also created beings like themselves, and these became the Angeli.
For millenia, the rulers of the three Universes coexisted, until the Architect called Lucifer and Michael, who were His first creations and His greatest, to come and serve Him in Heaven. Michael, being the less wise and so more obedient, went. But Lucifer thought himself too wise to serve, and so he did reply thusly to the Architect “Sooner would I rule in Hell, which for all its pain is an Universe of wisdom and freedom, then I would serve under anyone in any realm, least of all Heaven, which for all its pleasure is a realm of ignorance.”
And the Architect was both angered and saddened, for even more than Michael, Lucifer was His cherished creation. But His wrath outweighed his grief, and He spoke saying “So be it,” and he banished Lucifer to Hell.
There Lucifer did do battle with Azazel for control of Hell, and for a time, Luficer had the worse of it, for Azazel was a being of Hell and thus accustomed to it. But Lucifer’s wisdom was greater, and so he fractured Azazel, as he himself had been fractured, and created The Leviathan, which was the power and of Azazel, Mephistopheles, who was the cunning and wisdom of Azazel, and Gabriel, who was the wrath of Azazel. Gabriel and Mephistopheles he sent into the world to continue his work with the help of those of the Angeli whom Lucifer had created. Their task was to aid in the shaping of the Earth, where Lucifer had planted the seeds that would become the army he was to lead against the Architect.
The woman smiled at the class as she finished the heart learned words. “Any questions?” She asked. One boy, going on man really, she thought, at sixteen, raised his hand. Sheryl was slightly surprised. She had gotten the impression over the last several classes that he was paying more attention to her body than her lessons, but there his hand was.
“Yes, Paul?” She asked.
“Those seeds you mentioned, the ones that will become Lucifer’s Army? Do we know what they are now?”
It was the question she always got, so she wasn’t terribly surprised, even given the looks he had been running over her while she spoke. Still, it was phrased better than many times, when students had simply assumed that humans were those seeds. Maybe there was some hope for Paul yet.
“No, we really don’t,” she responded “Since we’re dealing with the realm of metaphysics, there’s not really any way to be certain. It could be us. It could be the Klxkts,” she brought out the name of the semi-intelligent large cockroach like creatures as best as the human tongue could, “Or it could be something completely different, bacteria, monkeys, starfish, or something that we haven’t even recognized as life yet. Now, who knows how this affects our government?”
Paul’s hand was the first up, but she picked the next student. “The main two political powers are the Luciferan Lobby and the Heaven Lobby. The Luciferan Lobby supports the goals of Lucifer, while the Heaven Lobby supports those of the Architect.”
“Very good, Marie. Now, let’s look at how the Klxkts fit into this.”
